Flexible fascia is linked to better blood flow, nutrient delivery, and organ function. Studies on individuals with the healthiest lifespans found they had extremely flexible fascia, which contributed to healthier organ and brain function. Tight fascia, on the other hand, restricts blood flow and can lead to stiffness, pain, and reduced organ efficiency.
Vibration plates stimulate muscle contractions, which enhance blood and lymph circulation. This increased circulation helps deliver nutrients and oxygen to organs, improving their function. Additionally, vibration therapy loosens tight fascia, allowing for better energy flow and reducing stagnation in the body.
The lymphatic system relies on muscle movement to transport lymph fluid, which removes waste and toxins. Vibration plates stimulate muscle contractions, promoting lymphatic drainage and detoxification. This process supports the immune system and helps clear toxins from the interstitial spaces between cells.
In TCM, health is maintained by the smooth flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood. Vibration therapy aligns with these principles by stimulating muscle activity, improving circulation, and promoting the flow of Qi and blood. This helps maintain balance and supports overall health.
Stress often causes specific areas of the body to tighten, blocking energy flow along acupuncture meridians linked to organs. Vibration plates help release this tension by loosening fascia and improving blood and energy flow to stressed organs, enhancing their function and reducing symptoms like neck or shoulder tightness.
Vibration therapy shakes up cells and interstitial spaces, releasing toxins that then drain into the lymphatic system. This process helps detoxify the body, reducing brain fog, improving joint flexibility, and enhancing overall clarity and energy levels.
Individuals recovering from chronic illnesses or infections may experience nausea or fatigue after using a vibration plate, as toxins are released. Starting with short sessions (1-2 minutes) on low settings can help the body adjust and prevent overloading the detox pathways.
Both vibration therapy and rebounding stimulate the fascia and lymphatic system, promoting detoxification and improved circulation. However, vibration plates provide a more controlled and accessible option for those with limited time or physical ability, offering similar benefits in just a few minutes a day.
Vibration plates enhance muscular strength, improve balance, and boost circulation. They can help with high blood pressure, coordination issues, and age-related balance problems. Regular use can also improve joint flexibility and overall mobility, making it a valuable tool for maintaining long-term health.
Vibration therapy sends strong signals to the brain through vibrational receptors, helping to release tension and improve energy flow. This can enhance brain function, reduce brain fog, and improve mental clarity by promoting better circulation and detoxification.
Welcome to the Ancient Health Podcast, where East meets West in the world of medicine. I'm Dr. Chris Motley, and here we explore how modern Western science and traditional Eastern wisdom come together to unlock the body's full healing potential. Each week, we'll dive into powerful tools, techniques, and approaches from both sides of the world to help you optimize your health and live with vitality. Let's bridge the gap between ancient practices and cutting-edge medicine. Let's get started.
Hello friends, welcome to the Ancient Health Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Chris Motley. We're going to talk about vibrational plates, vibration plates, vibrational therapy, and how you can actually ease and reduce the tension within your own connective tissue to actually help increase the blood flow and the electricity throughout your whole system.
And the reason that I want to talk about this today is because in the past I've read studies where they did autopsies on individuals that had the healthiest lifespan and they actually had the best blood reports when they were doing autopsies. And one of the common denominators for the individuals that had this level of health before they passed was that they all had extremely flexible fascia.
In fact, most of the individuals who had lived to almost their mid-90s actually reported healthier organ function and healthier brain function simply because they had higher flexibility within their body. Many of them practiced yoga, daily stretching, and that was a report that indicated that when your fascia or connective tissue, you can interchange them, is so pliable that
That blood and electricity and fluid is consistently bathing the whole body with what it needs to actually function at a higher level. Whenever we get to the point where we can't touch our toes, where we can't twist our upper body, where we feel a crick in the middle of our back, or that we're so stiff that our hips hurt every time we walk,
This is an indicator that our fascia is very tight and that it can actually indicate as well that the organs in specific areas are not getting enough nutrient and blood flow to actually function at a higher rate. So this podcast is to really encourage you and myself to work on flexibility.
to work on the joints ability to actually create a lot of flexibility along with blood flow. And when you use a vibration plate, it's simply because you can use these devices to actually help you if you're living a very busy schedule. So if you're out there and you're driving or if you're listening to this and you are telling yourself, I hardly have time to touch my toes today.
to have periods in my day where I can actually stretch, do a good cat stretch. Have you ever stretched your back and you've let out a big exhale and you thought, man, this actually feels very good to just take 15 seconds to stretch, to take care of my body? If you and I don't have that amount of time,
It would tell you and I that we need to look into our schedule to try to put some type of flexibility in our bodies. If you literally do not have the time to do that, please consider vibrational plates, vibration therapy. Now, here's the reason why. I've gave you the backdrop. One of the biggest things that vibration plates can do for your body is help the fascia readjust.
So, whenever you go into your daily work with high cortisol and stress, do you ever feel your jaws tighten up? Do you ever feel your neck tighten up? Your hips tighten up? There is an explanation. If you're listening, think about all the areas in your body that tighten up when you get stressed. Those areas are linked to specific acupuncture Chinese medicine meridians, which are in turn linked to certain organs.
When you and I go into stress, you and I are so particularly different that you handle your stress differently than I would. In fact, our families actually handle stress in different organs, basically in a way that totally sets you apart from everybody else. For instance, you may ask, what are you talking about? My mother's line is very big on worrying.
My stomach, which is the organ related to worry in Chinese medicine and the spleen, takes the hit. I'm always trying to figure out how to take care of somebody or something. And my stomach genetically is the organ that helps me with worry to figure out things. Now, that is saying this. My stomach is the main organ that tries to take over whenever a problem arises.
The meridian, the acupuncture meridian, that is the line of energy that's connected to my stomach, is one of the main meridian energy pathways that gets blocked and locked up when I get stressed. Does that make sense? It is my main organ that tries to handle stress, but it's also the main organ that gets worn out easier, especially as I get older.
So think about your fascia, the stomach meridian. If you can see this on camera, the stomach meridian runs right down from the sinuses, right below the eyes. It literally wraps around the chin, runs back down through the neck, through my chest, all the way down through my stomach, down the outside of my legs and into my ankles. Now that's the stomach meridian.
So whenever I get stressed, the energy is blocked down that particular energy pathway and all the fascia, the connective tissue that is running beside that electrical meridian, that little electrical highway gets hardened. So does that make sense? This will make sense to you. If you have, for instance, a stomach issue like myself,
The meridian runs right down through my neck and into my chest. When I get stressed, my neck locks up and it's hard for me to swallow or to move my throat. My neck muscles get very locked down and my lymph flow gets very congested down my neck. So the fascia gets bound up around my neck and my upper chest.
So I want you guys to realize that when you're listening, you're going, okay, well, that's not me. That's not in my neck. It's not in my chest. It's in my shoulders, my traps. Then I would say it's probably gallbladder for you. Gallbladder would be the meridian that runs around the temples, around the TMJ, around the traps, down through the shoulders, around through the hips. If those areas like your TMJ or your traps or your shoulders or hips get tightened, I would automatically assume it's your gallbladder.
So what would this mean? Whenever you get stressed, your fascia is so tightened that blood and electricity could not get to the gallbladder for you. It would not get to the stomach for me. And it would actually reduce the function of that organ. Low blood flow, low electricity will not allow your gallbladder to function at 100%. It would not allow the gallbladder to create enough bile to remove excess estrogen,
To clean out the liver, to actually help your body metabolize and actually digest fats in your stomach. You see how much worry, frustration, anger, all these emotions basically hinder the qi and the blood flow to the organ.
And that in turn locks up your fascia along those meridians. So whenever you see that these areas are locked up, you have to pay attention to the meridian system. And you think, well, I'm not going to take enough time to do it. If you really want to increase your health, you're going to pay attention to your body.
Because once you look, like even on my website, any website, guys, that has to do with Chinese medicine, look at the meridian system and look at those lines of acupuncture and go, man, I get locked up right here. And it says, oh, that's part of the gallbladder meridian. Do I have a history of gallbladder problems? I don't know. Does my family history? When you start to find this out, the vibration plate makes sense because you don't have enough time to go and stretch out all the areas that have to do with the gallbladder or the stomach.
But as simple as three to five minutes a day, getting on a vibrational plate or a vibration plate, it doesn't have to be a fancy one. There are some that up to five to ten thousand dollars. I'm not recommending a particular brand, but the energy of the vibration plate is this. The vibration of the plate will go up into the feet, of course, or if you put your hands on it or if you are laying down on it, truly.
vibrational receptors in your body will pick up on the vibrational patterns and that in turn will help loosen up your fascia. You would think that standing on a vibration plate and it just sort of shakes you, you go, oh, it makes me feel kind of weird because everything's moving. No, it is literally moving vibrational energy up through your body and breaking apart the adhesions within your fascial area. It's literally breaking up scar tissue.
When you have that fascia, if you guys are watching on camera and it's so tight, think about your hands clasping, like two hands clasping each other. When you start to get on a vibration plate, the hands start to stretch open and the fascia starts to move in a wave-like pattern. Electricity and blood flow runs through the fascia. It will then go around the organs. It'll go through your muscles. And when it gets around your organs, your muscles, it nourishes them. The organ starts to heal. It starts to do what it's supposed to do.
And this all from two to five minutes a day. Some people go up to 10 minutes. I wouldn't recommend that at the beginning, but what it will do is as it increases the blood flow and electricity, it would also increase the lymph flow in your body. It literally will help you detox. It will detox your lymph nodes.
It will clean out the space between your cells. Yes, the interstitial places. You have cells and the little areas around the cells actually have toxins that build up. You get on a vibration plate, it will shake up your cells and that stuff will drain. It will get into your lymph nodes, go into your bloodstream, eventually make its way into your liver, your kidneys, or your poop. So vibrations is such a huge key, not only for energy to the organ, but for your lymph system. When your lymph system starts to flush and start to clean out, you're going to notice that
Your brain fog will go away. Your thinking will be clearer. Your joints will feel a lot smoother and a lot more strength. And then you will actually have more flexibility in the joint. Now, thinking about a vibration plate, it may seem simple to us. But if you invest in one and you did it every day, there are reports that say that, let's say, jumping jacks or a rebounder, getting on a rebounder can do the same thing.
Some people love to get on a rebounder and get on doing jumping jacks every single morning. And they say that's one of the best things you can do for your lymph nodes. One of the best things you can do for your fascia. Because vibration and rebounding causes the fascia to release. Once that fascia releases through the whole body, it will send a signal through the whole body to get all the fascia to relax.
Your fascia encases every single muscle in your body, every single organ, every single artery. You can't get away from your fascia. If you relax it and rest it and stretch it, everything works better. I know you've probably heard this before. Some people say, well, I do rebounding. And you think, oh, I just do a little bit of rebounding or some jumping jacks and it helps me a little bit. No, it is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. I know individuals that they rebound every morning.
They will drink a cup of water right after. Some people do it before, depending on if they don't feel nauseous with it. But the water plus a little bit of salt in the water will help get the cells to open up. The rebound will help the body to flush. Then they go have a bowel movement and all those toxins flush out. Again, if you're too busy, look into investing in a quality vibrational plate or get something for a couple of hundred dollars from Amazon or do jumping jacks or a rebounder like a trampoline.
Vibrational receptors on the cells are probably some of the most powerful receptors in the body. When I was going through acupuncture training and I was going through Chinese medicine training and I was getting a chiropractic degree, they would tell me that, you know, you can use high velocity movements forced to push a bone back into place.
You can stretch a joint. You can put a lot of pressure on area to help release the muscle. But one of the biggest things they say that had the most powerful impact, and I found this out in my career,
was using steady pressure with vibration, like literally pressing on an acupressure point. Instead of using a needle, if you just use a small, quick vibrational type push with your hand, you're pushing in and releasing. And what you're doing is you're doing a small rebounding therapy on that point. And people say, well, does that get annoying? It's like, no. The constant pressure in and off of the point signals to the brain,
to tell you that there's something going on at that point. In fact, they say when you use that kind of therapy, even if it's a small Theragun, that vibration is one of the strongest signals that you can send to your brain to get the brain going to that point you're pressing on to help it release. So whenever I'm working on somebody hands-on, I literally am pressing and releasing all the time on one point. And they can tell you that. Why? Because I know the power of using vibrational receptors.
But you and I can do it by using a plate. I'm not trying to plug anything again, but I want you to know that you can handle a lot of your limp congestion, a lot of your limp stagnation, a lot of your blood stagnation, feeling like you're stagnant and stuck throughout your body. You could heal up many parts of your body if you just looked into rebounding vibrational therapy. Look into a vibration plate.
Here are a couple other questions. Now, what I would say is that when you use a whole body vibration therapy, look for something that has great reviews. But I just don't want you to think it's just for limp. I want you to know...
that it will enhance your muscular strength. It will enhance your balance. It will boost your circulation. So if you've ever had issues with high blood pressure, if you've had something with coordination, if you're getting older and you feel like you can't stay steady, I'm not saying it can cure it, but I'm saying it can actually improve your balance.
This is something that you don't have to do. You can hold on to the small bars that on these vibration plates or you can put your feet on a small vibration plate while you sit and allow the vibrational pattern to go up to your legs. You cannot lose. And I know this podcast probably is catching you like, really, is this what can actually help me with overall circulation? Yes. If you feel that you're inflamed and you're stagnant, I need you to look into this therapy because if I was going to tell my patient,
a therapy, one of the base therapies to use, yes, I would use red light. Yes, I would use infrared. Yes, I would use a sauna. I would even suggest cold plunge. And I would say like, of course, acupuncture, kinesiology, chiropractic. But if you're at home and you don't have a lot of time and you want just your body to clean out, vibration is the way to go. So I want this podcast for you guys to listen to. It's a short, sweet podcast about what you can do on your own. Now,
One of the other things I do want to mention here, too, is that as you are recovering from any type of chronic fatigue or illness, let's say it's Lyme disease, parasites, yeast, which is a huge problem. If you use a vibration plane and you knock things loose, you could feel worse.
So if you're feeling worse after you do it, you need to reduce the amount of time. That's why I tell patients, they go, well, how long do I do it? I say put it on one of the lowest settings and do it for two minutes to three minutes, sometimes even two minutes. People say, is that enough? Yes. If you find that you get feeling nauseous or sick even after two minutes, go down to 30 seconds.
Your body is so toxic from the infections that all those infections are either in the cells or in the places between the cells, releasing a lot of toxins. And those toxins are just stagnant. And when you put vibration pattern, you're giving the signal to the body saying, okay, I'm opening up. Let's release. If that's you, don't be surprised if you do have some detox, but you should not herx. Always start slow. One to two minutes. You can do it once a day or even every other day.
But if you notice that that is not making a big change, go up to five minutes and so forth. Some people can go up to five to ten minutes of vibration and then they follow it off with doing red light therapy like a red light sauna. But trust me, when you get to a point, you don't want to get to a point with vibrational place. You're like, well, I don't need it anymore. No, daily is really needed. You will be surprised how good you feel, especially in your joints and your whole body when you do this.
So on the podcast show notes, we're going to talk about lymphatic drainage systems. And we're going to talk about there's a link about how traditional Chinese medicine and vibrational therapy may help reduce like muscular fatigue and function. But remember, it helps increase the function of the organ. So if you're asking me, are vibrational plates worth it? Yes. There is so much science behind it. There is so much science about the shake and how the vibration literally heals the body.
So don't doubt it. If you want to just spend a few hundred bucks, get you something small, and then later on when you get something that's a few thousand bucks, I've literally used vibration plates for workouts. And Ben Greenfield put me on a workout with this huge vibration plate. And I'm telling you, I got the workout that you would feel in an hour in five minutes because of the way the vibration worked out my muscles. They call them fasciculations. Basically, if you're trying to hold steady on a vibration plate, all the receptors, all
in your joints, in your muscles are trying to balance you to keep you at equilibrium and balance, keeping your eyes steady with horizon. All those muscles and all those fascial areas are firing to keep you in balance, to keep you standing up.
We're going to put some notes here that will help you like look into the vibration plates. But if you guys have any comments, please comment in the show notes. And if you have any questions, send us some questions, give us a thumbs up, hit the little bell so that you get notified whenever a new podcast comes out. But I don't want you going out guys and spending a ton of money on vibrational plates or anything. What I do want you to do is look into the power of it because we're all busy. I know you're busy and,
I just want you to get the most, I want you to grow older and stronger, not older and tighter and decrepit. I hate to use that term, but it's the truth. I want you guys to feel strong and mobile. Two things you always want. You want to be mobile and you want to have your mind. And vibrational plates will help you with that. All right, guys, drink your water, red light therapy, vibration plates. If you guys have questions, let me know. And until next time on the Ancient Health Podcast, I'm Dr. Chris Motley. I hope you do well. Take it easy.
