Central Event showing the example of God's love through Jesus -Baptism - Matthew 3:16-17 - Jesus was fully man and fully God, one of the reasons we know he can fully identify with us - The father proclaims "This is my Beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." - this is the beginning of Jesus ministry - this is what God the father felt was important to say as Jesus started - Jesus is identifying with man in this action - he did not need to be baptized but he did it to demonstrate his association with us
