2022第一道曙光在蘭嶼 Catch 2022 First Sunrise on Orchid Island
Are you ready for the New Year?
If you want to see the first ray of sunlight of 2022 (2022第一道曙光), you should head to Orchid Island.
The Central Weather Bureau says that light will appear on Orchid Island at 6:32 AM on New Year's Day.
And if you are staying on Taiwan proper (台灣本島), you should head to Kenting.
The CWB says the first light to reach Taiwan proper will be in Kenting's Long Keng Ecological Reserve at 6:35 AM.
In some countries around the world, people believe watching the first sunrise of the new year can bring you good luck.
But many find it hard to get up that early.
So, if you would rather say goodbye to 2021, you might want to watch the last sunset of the year (跨年日沒).
The CWB says you can see the last sunset visible in Taiwan proper in southern Taiwan.
Just make sure you're along the Qi-gu seawall in Tainan City on December 31st, before 5:25 PM.
But the weather bureau says New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will be cold.
They say during those two days, northeasterly winds (東北季風) are very strong.
So anyone planning to be outside those two days, should make sure to dress warmly.
It would be hard to enjoy the beautiful views if you're freezing!

木乃伊 "數位開箱" 揭法老王真面目 Egyptian King Mummy Digitally "Unwrapped"
Scientists have used technology to "unwrap" a famous Egyptian mummy.
The mummy is a Egyptian pharaoh (法老，古埃及國王的稱號).
The mummy of Amenhotep I was found in 1881.
He has a wooden mask.
And he is covered with flower garlands (花環).
The mummy is around 3,500 years old.
Egyptian scientists never unwrapped him for study.
The mummy was too fragile (脆弱).
And they didn't want to damage his mask and flower garlands.
為保存面具和外層的花環，考古學家一直沒有解開木乃伊的繃帶。
So, scientists used a special software to scan the mummy.
This gave scientists a 3D picture of the mummy on a computer.
Then they "unwrapped" the 3D picture, to see the inside of the mummy.
And this way, they didn't even have to touch the fragile mummy.
This has helped them learn a lot about Amenhotep I.
They believe he was about 35 years old, and 169 centimeters tall when he died.
The pharaoh had curly hair (捲髮), and healthy teeth.
In fact, scientists say Amenhotep I looked like his father.
But they are still not sure why he died.

"蜘蛛人：無家日"登頂全球年度票房 "Spider-Man: No Way Home" First Pandemic-era Movie to Gross $1 Billion Dollars
The latest Spider-Man movie is breaking records (破紀錄).
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is the first movie since the COVID-19 pandemic to make more than $1 billion U.S. dollars at the box office.
"蜘蛛人：無家日"15日陸續在全球上映後，短短11天就登頂全球年度票房冠軍。
The film hit the $1 billion dollar mark less than two weeks after opening in theaters.
The Marvel movie is also the movie that made the most money in 2021.
The last movie to make more than $1 billion dollars was "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019.
No other Hollywood movie has come close to $1 billion dollars since COVID-19 began to spread around the world.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" sees Tom Holland back as Peter Parker, along with Zendaya as MJ, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Master of the Mystic Arts Doctor Strange.
