Taipei hosts the Golden Melody Awards, fruit flies may be more like humans than we think, and Jodie Whittaker leaves Doctor Who.

台北流行音樂中心 主辦第32屆金曲獎 Golden Melody Awards Ceremony Takes Place in Taipei
This year's Golden Melody Awards ceremony was held on Saturday, August 21st.
The Golden Melody Awards is the most important event for pop music artists in Taiwan.
Artists who have been successful during the year get awards in categories (項目) like Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer and Album of the Year (最佳專輯獎).
The artist that won Album of the Year this time around was Sangpuy, with his album Pulu'em (得力量).
Sangpuy is an Indigenous Taiwanese from the Puyuma ethnic group. He sings in the Puyuma language.
The jury, or the group of people that decide which artists win awards, said his music "transcends the boundaries of language."
That means, even if you don't understand what he is singing, his music is still very enjoyable.
桑布伊是用卑南語歌唱的卑南族作曲家。金曲獎評審委員會說他的音樂超越語言界線，意思就是不需要懂得卑南語，也能聆聽享受。
Hebe Tien won the Best Mandarin Female Singer Award.
That's an award for female artists that sing in Mandarin Chinese.
Hebe used to be a part of the girl group S.H.E.
But the jury said her new album showed she has become a sophisticated (風格成熟) artist on her own.
The winner of the Best Mandarin Male Singer award was rapper Soft Lipa.
And there were many more award categories that celebrated artists that sing in different languages including Taiwanese (台語), Hakka (客家語) and Indigenous languages.
The Golden Melody Awards is one of the three major awards ceremonies in Taiwan, alongside The Golden Bell Awards for TV (廣播電視金鐘獎), and The Golden Horse Awards for film (金馬獎).
人類與果蠅的共同點 Fruit Flies Show Human Behaviors
Humans might be more similar to flies than we think.
Especially the common fruit fly.
A fruit fly is a very small insect that gets its name because it likes to eat and lay eggs in fruit.
You might see them in your house if you leave food garbage around for too long!
And you usually find them in groups.
It's because they reproduce (繁殖) very quickly.
But also because they are social creatures.
That means they like to be around other fruit flies a lot.
果蠅與人類一樣是喜歡群居的動物，而且能夠快速繁殖。
Humans are social creatures, too.
We usually like to be around friends and family, otherwise we might get lonely.
But did you know fruit flies also get lonely?
And when they feel lonely they eat more and sleep less, just like many humans do!
Scientists recently decided to put fruit flies in "lockdown" (封城) to see what would happen.
People around the world are in lockdown right now because of COVID-19.
And many have said it is making them sad and lonely.
The scientists found the fruit flies in lockdown started to show changes in their brains.
And they began over-eating and under-sleeping (牠們開始吃得多睡得少).
But the experiment wasn't just for fun.
The scientists hope it can help us understand the connection between loneliness and insomnia (失眠症), which is the name for when people cannot sleep well for many days.
The research might help some of us get a better night's rest.
這項果蠅實驗並非只是好玩，而是為了更深入了解孤單寂寞跟失眠症之間的關係。也許有助於人類睡個好覺呢。
神秘博士將退出主演 Jodie Whittaker Leaving Doctor Who
The lead actor in a major TV show is stepping away.
Jodie Whittaker is leaving Doctor Who next year.
She has played The Doctor since 2017.
Jodie will finish out the current series this year, and then appear in three special programs (特別節目) in 2022.
第十三位神秘博士主演朱迪·惠特克明年會退出這個電視節目。
Jodie is leaving at the same time as the show's executive producer, Chris Chibnall.
The two of them made a pact (條約) that they would do three series of the show, and then exit.
They will now hand over the roles to new people.
No announcement has been made about who will be the 14th Doctor.
惠特克和神秘博士監製會同時離開，目前不知道誰會接辦。
