南台灣發現新魚種！ New Fish Discovered in South Taiwan!
Even in our big, explored world, scientists are still finding new animals we didn't know about before. 我們探索過的大世界，科學家還是會發現之前不知道的新動物。 These discoveries happen in deep oceans, tall mountains, and everywhere in between (以及其他的所有地方).
Each new animal teaches us more about how amazing our planet is.
It also shows us how important it is to take care of nature (保護自然), because every animal has its special place on Earth.
Scientists in Taiwan have found a new kind of fish that only lives in Taiwan's southern waters. 台灣的科學家發現了一種新的魚類，只生活在台灣南部的水域。
This special fish was found in the Kaoping River (高屏溪), near the Yushan Mountain (玉山).
The fish has a name that honors the Yushan Mountain (紀念玉山而命名的), called Hemimyzon yushanensis.
It's different because it has a sleek shape with tiny white spots on its greenish-brown skin. 它之所以不同，是因為它有著流線型的身體，身上有著微小的白點，皮膚是綠棕色的。
It also has unique fins (獨特的鰭) that are not like those of other fish found in Taiwan's rivers.
The discovery was part of a big study by Professor Chen I-shiung (陳義雄教授) and his team.
They explored (探索) rivers in Taiwan for two years, from 2022 to 2023.
They visited many places and found 30 types of fish and seven kinds of tiny sea animals (小型海洋動物).
The team learned that this new fish needs clean water to live.
This reminds us how important it is to keep our environment clean. 這提醒我們保持環境清潔的重要性。
We should not throw trash in nature, especially in mountains and rivers.
This special find (特別的發現) shows us how much we still have to learn about the animals living in Taiwan's beautiful nature.
小老鼠的打掃任務 Mouse on a Cleaning Mission
Imagine finding your room magically clean every morning. 想像一下，每天早上醒來你的房間都神奇地變乾淨了。
All your toys and books are put back in their place (放回原處).
Now, think about a small mouse doing all the cleaning for you!
In Wales, a man named Rodney Holbrook found out that a tiny mouse was tidying up his shed almost every night for two months. 在威爾士，一位名叫Rodney Holbrook的男子發現，有一隻小老鼠幾乎每晚都在整理他的小屋達兩個月之久。
Rodney, a wildlife photographer (野生動物攝影師), was puzzled (困惑) when he saw things moving back to their spots without anyone touching them.
To solve this mystery, he set up a night vision camera. 為了解開這個謎團，他設置了一個夜視攝影機。
What he found was astonishing (令人驚訝)!
A mouse was caught on camera, organizing his shed like a little cleaning expert (攝影機拍到一隻老鼠，像個小清潔專家一樣清理他的小屋).
Rodney lovingly calls it the "Welsh Tidy Mouse". Rodney把這隻老鼠暱稱為"威爾士整潔小老鼠"。
This clever mouse gathered small items like clothes pegs (衣服夾), corks (軟木塞), and nuts (堅果).
The mouse put them away neatly in a tray. 小老鼠將它們整齊地放在一個托盤裡。
Rodney even tested (測試) the mouse by leaving out different objects to see if it could move them.
Sure enough (果不其然), the mouse proved to be a hard worker, even carrying cable ties (電線束帶) to their proper place.
Rodney was amazed by his little helper.
He now leaves the tidying up (整理) to the mouse, knowing that everything will be back in order by morning.
This isn't the first time a mouse has been seen doing such tasks.
A similar story happened in 2019 near Bristol, where a mouse was found stockpiling items (囤積物品) in a man's shed.
These stories show us how even the smallest creatures can do big things, like a scene straight out of a cartoon movie (就像卡通電影演的一樣).
Just like in "Ratatouille," (料理鼠王) where a rat dreams of cooking, our real-life "Welsh Tidy Mouse" shows us that sometimes, reality can be just as magical as the movies.
