流浪狗收容所 安裝太陽能板 Solar Panels Installed at Dog Shelter
In order to do lots of things, we need to use energy (能量).
But the energy we use has to come from energy sources (能量源).
Our bodies use food and water to make energy, and lots of cars use oil (汽油).
But sometimes, when we use a lot of these resources (資源), it can be bad for the environment (環境).
And if we use too much of those resources, there might not be any left.
Fortunately, there are many other sources of energy… like the sun!
In recent years, more and more people have been using solar energy (太陽能).
That's because no matter how much sunlight we use, there will always be more!
And one place in Taiwan has been using solar energy to care for animals.
It's an animal shelter (動物收容所) in Taipei City's Zhonghe District.
The animal shelter has installed solar panels on almost 1,000 square meters of its roof. 這個動物收容所的太陽能板，裝在大約一千平方公尺的屋頂上。
The panels take solar energy and make it into electricity (發電).
The new power has helped the shelter to save money (省錢)… enough money to buy 840 kilograms of dog food!
It has also cut down the shelter's carbon emissions by the same amount as 3,000 trees. 這些太陽能板，也讓這個收容所大大減少碳排放，效果跟三千棵樹一樣多。
Not only can solar panels help the animals in our cities.
They can also help the nature around us stay cleaner, too!
世界最老的老人過世 World's Oldest Person Passes Away
How old is the oldest person you know?
Maybe you have a family member (親戚) who is one hundred years old.
Nowadays, more and more people are living even longer than one hundred years!
It's still very rare, but medical technology and medicine are getting better and better every year. 活到一百歲的人還真少見，但是醫療科技和醫藥每年都在進步。
That means people are staying healthier as they get older, and they are living longer.
But, of course, no one lives forever…
First, the bad news: The world's oldest person has just passed away (去世).
Her name was Kane Tanaka, and she was 119 years old.
But now, the good news: She lived a long and amazing life.
Kane Tanaka (田中加子) was born in Japan in 1903, as the seventh child (第七個孩子) in a family of nine children.
She got married (結婚了) one hundred years ago, and had four children.
During her life, she ran various businesses (她做過好幾種生意), and even opened a noodle shop!
Now, after Tanaka's passing, the world's oldest person is a French nun, who is 118 years old. 田中太太去世之後，世界上年紀最大的人就是一位法國修女，現年一百一十八歲。
And French people must be doing something right, because the oldest person in history was also French…
Her name was Jeanne-Louise Calment, and she passed away at the old, old age of 122.
We'll still miss these people after they're gone, but we can still celebrate (慶祝) their long lives.
Just remember to exercise and eat healthy foods, and you might live even longer!
伊隆·馬斯克購買推特公司 Elon Musk Buys Twitter
Since the year 2006, Twitter (推特) has been a place for people to share their thoughts online (在網路上).
It started as just a website (網站), and years later, it became one of the most popular apps in the world.
But it has gone through a lot of changes in these years.
And one person, Elon Musk (伊隆·馬斯克), thinks he can change it even more.
Mr. Musk is currently the world's richest person (世界上最有錢的人), and is planning to buy the entire Twitter company (公司).
But buying a company this big isn't as simple as buying food at the store…
It's going to cost him about $44 billion U.S. dollars (四百四十億美元)!
And on top of that (更何況), he'll need to get enough money in one place to make the purchase (購買).
Mr. Musk also owns Tesla and SpaceX, and he'll have to use pieces of these companies to pay for Twitter. 馬斯克也擁有特斯拉汽車和太空探索技術公司，他必須運用這兩個公司的資產來購買推特。
People are still wondering what he'll do with Twitter once he gets it, but for now, we'll wait and see…
Just don't worry if it all sounds complicated (複雜)… that's because it is!
