Targeting the luxury market with eco-friendly, biodegradable alternatives, the team plans to engineer leather using synthetic DNA modeled on fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex collagen. Products like handbags and car seats are in development, with a flagship item expected by late 2025. However, paleontologists remain doubtful, citing the absence of preserved T. rex DNA and the degraded nature of fossilized collagen.
