The administration calls it the "largest deportation operation in history." Trump also signed the Laken Riley Act, mandating detention for undocumented immigrants accused of serious crimes and allowing states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for enforcement failures. Additionally, plans are underway to house up to 30,000 "criminal migrants" at Guantanamo Bay in a separate facility from terrorist detainees, serving as a temporary holding site until deportation arrangements are made.
