European Union leaders are struggling to respond to President Trump's recent actions, including threats of a trade war and his suggestion that the U.S. take over Greenland. In response, the EU has reaffirmed its commitment to Greenland’s territorial integrity and is considering countermeasures against potential U.S. tariffs. Some leaders are also advocating for increased defense spending and prioritizing European arms manufacturers.
Trump has also proposed that the U.S. "take over" the Gaza Strip, a suggestion widely rejected by both allies and adversaries. His plan includes relocating Gaza’s entire population to other countries.
Meanwhile, ICE is facing overcrowding in its detention centers, forcing the release of some migrants into the U.S., despite Trump’s pledge for mass deportations. In protest of his immigration policies, a nationwide "Day Without Immigrants" led to business closures, highlighting the essential role immigrants play in the U.S. economy.
