Martin Wasmer is a scientific advisor to the Swiss parliament on the topic of biotechnology and environmental technology. He is also a visiting scientist at Leibniz University Hannover where he works on integrating epistemology and ethics with regulatory/policy considerations in biotechnology and translational biomedicine. As primary education, Martin has a double qualification as Master of Science in Biology and Master of Arts in History and Philosophy of Knowledge from the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich respectively. He conducted his PhD at the Centre for Ethics and Law of Leibniz University Hannover where he worked on legal and ethical aspects of genome editing.
