Welcome into the CHCO Bears podcast. We are now just two weeks away from the NFL draft. Closer and closer, boys. Two weeks away.
Cannot wait. And we are going to continue to do, uncover every stone that we possibly can, just like your Chicago Bears and all the other NFL teams are doing right now. That's right. That includes, Carm, bringing on more and more draft prospects to the show. That's right. You guys tasked me with finding the diamond in the rough, the supreme talent who's going to pop off in the NFL and be the guy that gets to the quarterback, the guy we've been looking for in Chicago. Yeah.
And so I looked near and far and all around, and I just decided, you know what? I'm going to land in the Big Ten, and I'm going to look north. If somebody's willing to play in Minnesota weather, he's got to be bear tough, and he doesn't want to stay there, obviously. He wants to come a little bit south. Plus, he's got some East Coast in him, and that's why we're going up to the Golden Govers to bring in our edge rusher,
future bear hopefully jaw joiner joining us on the chgo bears podcast jaw welcome thank you for making time i am fully invested in you so we're in this together now know that thank you guys for having me
We appreciate you making the time. And, and, and, and, and John, just why don't you tell bears fans out there, you know, you're, you're, you're six, five. We got, we got, we got 34 inch arms. We've got, we've got the ability to get to the past. Why talk us to tell us about your belief in yourself as to why you're going to be successful on the NFL level.
Yeah, I think the biggest thing with me throughout my entire career is getting after the passer. And we had a philosophy in Minnesota over the past two years was always affecting the quarterback. It always wasn't supposed to get home, always affecting the quarterback. And I think that's the biggest thing.
with me and affecting the quarterback and a lot of those hits, a lot of those disruptions, forcing interceptions, forcing incompletion and stuff like that, changing the game. And I'm a game changer for sure. And I believe in that. I believe in myself in doing that. And yeah, I'm six, five and get after the ball. So you, I,
I don't know how many college football players are left that stay five years in one place that aren't transferring every five seconds. You stuck it out at Minnesota the entire time, and that included, I know you went through the 2020, you had the COVID year, and then you redshirted. So you had to kind of wait and buy your time there. I guess, why did you stick it out?
at Minnesota and then I guess with that patience what led to you you breaking out eventually by your junior season yeah the biggest thing picking Minnesota was the development on the field and development off the field and you look at all the coaches that I had throughout my entire career in Minnesota and all the challenges that I faced whether gaining weight or
whether just getting better as a football player, maturing as well, all those things play a factor in starting and playing well. Once I figured out it wasn't about me, that's when I feel like it started to skyrocket in my career at Minnesota. So the trust and belief in Coach Fleck and his staff and what he did for me and the entire defensive line,
on the field was, I guess, just phenomenal in terms of just development. And so, yeah, I think every year I got better. Every year I had a challenge in terms of playing more and being that starter. The reason why I came back was I wanted to be an every-down guy. I wanted to play first, second, and third down. So being confident and trusting myself in terms of playing all those downs. So, yeah.
Hit the like button for John. Hit the like button for chasing your dreams. Hit the like button for not knowing exactly what you want to do right when you pop out of the womb or like, you know, even eighth grade and early high school. Those of us who are still trying to find our way in life because it's, you know, reading up on you said like you didn't
really take football seriously until your junior year. I know you had to go through a one win sophomore season on the high school level. Then all of a sudden, all right, fine. I do like this sport and I'll start tackling everybody in sight. Like, can you just, can you sort of take us through your, your maturation process, if you will?
That's actually so funny. Um, my coach, um, in Danbury, um, coach here, he came my junior year and, um, he showed, he actually brought me to a college. My first college ever that I went to was temple. Um, seeing those guys compete, seeing those guys practice, um, being bigger than some of those guys, even being there. Um,
I was like, this is a thing that I can definitely do. And, yeah, I think the biggest thing was me falling in love with the sport, sophomore year, junior year, and seeing how my dad and seeing how my mom and all my family playing through them with this sport. I think that was the biggest thing and the biggest change in my career when playing in Danbury. So, yeah.
And I know there's some good pizza out in Connecticut that I'm sure you've had a few times there. Yeah, there is. You ever heard of New Haven? No. New Haven, Connecticut. That's where it's like the pizza capital of the world. Come on now. Is that true?
That is definitely true. I'm a Bethel guy. I like their pizza a lot. But I heard New Haven as well. So good spots over there. Okay, worldwide brags. Of course. I like that worldwide brags. Of course. Shout out to my guy, Phil. Have you been to Connecticut? Yeah. My guy, Phil Latosha, is taking me. It's as good as it gets. But yeah. He's close.
So, yeah, absolutely. So, so Ja, I'm, I'm curious how this process has been this off season for you. I know you had an opportunity to, you know, test and you ran a four, six and you know, it's the underwear Olympics for you guys and it's, it doesn't define you as a player. So how has this process been for you and how, how easy is, or hard has it been to embrace this?
I don't know about hard. I think we talk about just training in general, and we always do speed training at Minnesota. So I don't think it was hard at that standpoint of getting faster and stuff like that.
I think the biggest thing, going to a different place and trusting another defense, like a strength coach and trusting their plan for me and believing that plan and not going through in terms of the motions of their plan for you. So I think it was more so just trust, trusting their plan for me. And I think Jordan did a really good job.
with all of us in Fort Myers at X3 where I trained at and he focused on the details and that's what one of the biggest things separated him and some of those training staffs talking to him so that's why we picked that's why I picked them and then so yeah
I want to ask you about one of your teammates, Ariante Ursery, who you battled up against in practice all the time, and he's got a chance to be a first-round pick. Tell us about him and what makes him so good. Yeah, one of my best friends on the team, a guy that I came in with, and just seeing his growth year one to now and how it skyrocketed in his career
His story, once you guys hear his story and his family and who he does it for and his why, you'll be like, okay, this is why he does what he does and does it really well. But a guy that's big, he's like 6'8", like 340, like 330 pounds.
And that can move. So I think that just separates him and being the best left tackle in the big 10 last year. Just really helped help with him. But one of the best left tackles that I faced, probably the best tackle that I'm gonna face in my career. So, so yeah. So you want to be the best, you got to train against the best one. And another reason why buying on job, getting to do it every day on the practice field, that's got to help you. You would think. All right.
rumor has it your dynamic well your actually resume has it I should say academic all big 10 criminal law degree just you know when when we do the the the John Karm uh business relationship after you're done playing football what what are we going to be doing what's what what are you what are your plans for you know I don't know call 12 15 years from now let's let's look deep into the future
Yeah, definitely looked into that. Definitely want to, the top three is be a coach, go back to Connecticut and coach. I think that's a priority that I want to do. And then going back in that coaching tree, my coach back at Danbury. Definitely want to be a lawyer, definitely want to get into that. I don't know what type of lawyer, but I definitely want to be a lawyer. And then get into real estate. Definitely, that's intriguing to me. And there's a lot of things that go into that. But yeah.
I mean, this guy coaches to my right. This guy over here. I'm an athlete. Is an athlete. What are you laughing at? That's the exact right response right there. What's what's the any weird questions outside of this interview that you've had with talking NFL teams? What do they want to know that perhaps if anything that caught you off guard?
Nothing weird. I think the biggest thing is getting to know me. They don't know the face, the player, it's themselves. So really getting to know me, where I'm from. Having four sisters, that's really surprising to everybody. But yeah, I think the biggest thing is really getting to know the player under the mask.
and why you play the sport. So I think that was biggest thing. Were you in that birth order with those four women? That's amazing or seems very challenging. Are you the oldest? I'm the youngest. You're the youngest. Wow. Wow. Wow.
What was that like? Talk about that. I'm somebody that grew up with all women in my house and still do to this day. I have a beautiful, almost seven-year-old daughter, and so I've grown up with all women. I ruined 24 of 27 Christmases in a row. So I'm just curious about your upbringing and having four older sisters ahead of you. I don't know what that means.
It was crazy, but I chose my sisters, and they kind of raised me in a way. But yeah, always fights in the house, and yeah, just a lot of competitiveness in the house as well. But yeah, I love my four sisters. Did they have a sports background that kind of helped you along your way? No, all the sports went to me. Yeah.
They, like I said, they watched the sport through me, so my entire family, so yeah.
They didn't come to your games is what you're saying, and you're deeply bothered by that, and you want to have a conversation after the show, or did they actually show up? No, they watch it through me, so they go to those games. The only reason why they even watch it is because of me, so that's what I'm trying to say. Obviously, being in the Big Ten in the Midwest here, we've seen you guys play and watched you play, but going through some different people that broke down what they think your strengths and weaknesses are, I came across Lance Zerline.
0 : This is a pretty funny one. He says zombie like resilience makes him difficult for blockers to finish. I thought that was, I've never heard anybody compare someone to a zombie like resilience. Your thoughts on that? 3 : That's um, that's first time you hear in that actually funny. Um, I don't know what a zombie, um, is like, probably just even kill. Um,
Even Kale doesn't like react to anything. But I don't know. I guess it means you never give up on a play is, is I think is you can never get a zombie down. So I think that's probably where he's going with it. I mean, everybody knows about your leverage and your length, right? But I'm curious from your standpoint, you know, what you think you need to work on here to take your game to the next level here in the NFL.
Yeah, I think the biggest thing that I've got feedback and me just watching my film in general and me playing the game is my hands run and pass, playing with my hands. And that's the biggest thing in this league that you have to do. So I'm working on that with a lot of these D-line coaches and different things I should be doing. But that's the biggest thing with me.
John, I got one from behind the camera here. You went up against some really tough running backs this year, including Amarian Hampton, Caleb Johnson, Klaue Mullings, Donovan Edwards, and others. Who would you say the toughest was and why? That's a good question. And there's a lot of Big Ten running backs that I go against. But Hampton was definitely one just because
We played him the year before, and he really didn't have a good game that game. He came back and had a really good game. But the patience with him and his vision with his vision playing against our defense and how we changed it and a lot of blitzes and stuff like that that came after him. I think that was a major one. But, yeah, he's a really good running back. The Iowa running back is really good. So, yeah.
Smooth, right, Iowa? That's what it seems like with Caleb. He's on you right away with this. I don't know. I'm trying to figure out exactly who he was.
But, and Hoag's giving me a weird look, but I'm like, is this guy Terrell Davis at his primary? I don't know. I really liked Caleb. I'm talking up the Hawkeyes. I went to Iowa, John. That's where that just came from. It just popped out. Oh, makes sense. Yeah, yeah. There we go. Go Hawks. Hey, John, thanks so much for joining us today. Good luck with everything in the next couple weeks. We can't wait to see where you land, you know, on draft weekend, and hopefully it's in Chicago.

Good job, Carm. And now our next segment, as we tell you what's brewing on the rest of today's show, brought to you by new Sam Adams American Light. Cold, crisp, and refreshing game day just got better. We're going to talk a little Shador Sanders here, actually, and we're going to explain why, because it does have to do with the Bears. And then Marcus Harper from Oregon joining us a little bit later on in the show, too. We've already recorded that interview, so we'll bring it your way. Local product.
As always, we got your snippets. We got your super chats. We got your shout outs coming later on as well. So that's what's brewing on the rest of today's episode of the Masters is on right now. That's the other thing brewing. Yeah, but on the show, I get it. I mean, dude, if we want to do a master show, we can we have that TV just put on golf right there, please. And I will do it. Sixty six year old Freddie couples. No one under. No, I would love to be doing a master's watch along.
Trust me. No one cares. I've purposely watched zero minutes of it so far so I can stay focused on the Chicago Bears this morning. Because the second somebody just goes golf, golf, I'm going to turn into that and just be like, yeah, that's all I care about. For sure. What part is it? Is it the backswing or the balls in the air that gets you going? Or is it when they're walking? It's when they go down the cup. When they walk down the fairway, is that like, ooh, that's good watching right there. Yeah.
All of the above. All of the above. All of that. Anybody who doesn't want to watch golf, you can meet me at any establishment. I feel like you did this argument last year, too. What's that? You did this argument last year, too. I'll do this argument every year this time. It's regurgitated. That's true. But I mean, come on. It's just whatever. Yeah. I'm not going down there. Yeah, don't even go down there. I'll come over on Sunday. It'll be awesome. Okay, fine. I'll watch the last six holes. All right. I don't know who brought this up. You did. You did.
I take no responsibility for this. Okay. So if you've been watching this show in recent weeks, months, you know that Greg has been fixated on the idea that your Sanders will fall to 10 and some team is going to trade the Bears 17 first round picks, which is illegal by the way, but to come up and get a guy that just fell nine spots. Now that being said, um,
I do find that you had an interesting theory that sounds crazy that I want you to share with the masses because it is a little crazy, but it's actually on brand, and I like it. I think it's plausible, and you might get fired over this, but I want you to do it anyway. I should have put on my tinfoil hat for this. You should text RK right now and tell him to tune in, listen to what Greg's about to say. And just before this starts,
I just want to say that I've been doing pre-production meetings for our show for two plus years with these two, and I have never seen Hogue this much in agreement with a Bragg's take off the board. This is a historic moment, so let's all sit back and listen to the Braggs. Wait, I don't agree that much because I don't want to get fired too. Well, but you, okay, well, you were just interested in him saying it versus the normal look on your face of just utter, how did I end up in this situation? That's right. So this was totally different, and this is,
I'm excited. So go ahead, Greg. So everybody just kind of frivolously says, oh, the bears should trade back. But, but how that's the question. And for me, I've come up with that. How Hogue has challenged me. Well, if you're going to trade up for Shador Sanders, if he falls to 10, who in the world would do that? Cause nobody behind the bears would want to. Oh, contrary. Adam Hogue should do her Sanders. Yeah.
At 10, there is a team two spots behind the Chicago Bears, and that is the Dallas Cowboys. That's right, ladies and gentlemen. The same team that courted Deion Sanders this offseason to be their head coach already laid the groundwork for Shador Sanders to get to the Cowboys at 12, or if the Bears want to leverage this,
Now you can get into a bidding war where the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys have all got to try to put the bid in place.
bid in to move up to 10 so they can get Shador Sanders themselves. And if the Dallas Cowboys are able to succeed in this venture, then next year they will show Brian Schottenheimer the door faster than they hired him this year. And Dion Sanders will come in and coach his son. And Jerry Jones will have one of the more intriguing storylines for the next five years, because that is exactly the kind of thing that Jerry Jones loves to do.
I rest my case. So I don't think it's that crazy because it's the Cowboys. It's the Cowboys. There's one flaw. There is one flaw, though. There's a couple. That I did not think about earlier in our meeting when I agreed with you. I already know which two flaws you're going to come up with. The one flaw is that Jerry never fires coaches early.
Well, that's stupid. It's Deion. Well, I know, but he just doesn't. And I don't know Schottenheimer's contract details, but I'm assuming they signed him more than a one-year contract. So now, if you want to argue that getting Deion could influence a change there in that thinking, I'll meet you halfway on that one. I'm still trying to figure out. So you still need two teams, though, that want to come up to make this happen because the 49ers aren't drafting Shador Sanders.
And the Cowboys, for them to jump up, it's because another team like the Steelers. Right. The Steelers already brought him in for a top 30 visit, Shador Sanders. Is that happening this morning? Is that what's going on? Could be. Could be. Steven will get the research in on that. And Steven brought up the Colts as a potential landing spot. So I think those are the two variables. Now, people will say, J.
J2K in the chat. Well, Dion just signed a five-year extension with the Colorado Buffaloes. Big money. Coaches can walk away from contracts anytime, any sport in college. It's just how it goes. So that's great that Colorado sent it. Now, the other two variables you have to consider is that they traded a third-round pick for Joe Milton, but it's Joe Milton.
Then the third variable that you have to consider is the contract extension that they made for Dak Prescott. And so there, I think is some wiggle room after this year where they can be able to get out of that or even trade him. But those are the variables, but I'm sorry, like you said, it's the Cowboys. It's Jerry Jones. I don't think he'd be afraid to pull the trigger. If he knows from his conversations this off season with Deion Sanders, he gets to door here.
I mean, you're talking about one of the most intriguing stories in the NFL every week if they do that. It would be a huge departure because he doesn't like paying coaches that aren't coaching for him. They'd have to pay the buyout on the Colorado contract on top of that. Same thing with Dak. Pay him a bunch of money to go away. It's not the craziest thing in the world, but the more and more I actually think about it,
I'm the one that gave you these variables, so that's not fair. I know. So I think you argued against yourself. No, I'm just being fair to the conversation. But it's the Cowboys, and Jerry has all the money in the world. He's not worried about it. But he doesn't spend it. That's why they –
Can't stand him down. What he's worried about is having a rock star show every week down there. And if he can get Dion and Shador Sanders, look at what it's done for the Colorado Buffaloes and our guys at the DMVR buffs. Dude, dude.
See, I think what's more likely is the Steelers at this point. Okay, so who has Jerry had as his head coaches? Let's just name his last three. Mike McCarthy. Yeah, would you call either of those guys Mr. Personality? What makes you think that he would have won? When they won Super Bowls, who were their coaches? He fired Jimmy and he brought in Barry. Right. I mean, if you want to go back in time to when I was born, it's been, I mean, the Cowboys have been,
In a death spiral forever. Listen, I love where you're going. You're trying to create value. I want to shout you out for trying to... But I think what you're trying to do here, at least the way I'm going to spin this, is that you're trying to make it out like this could possibly be realistic for Dallas. So Pittsburgh will pay more to come up from 21 because the Steelers need...
a quarterback and Pittsburgh should be looking to make a Justin Fields bears level deal to get from 21 to 10 to go get Shador because a team like Dallas, definitely to your point, we need to create this leverage. That would make more sense to me, to me. But if we're going to live in reality here,
They could have hired D on this off season before he signed this huge extension with Chateau out there and they could have, and this could all be the thing, but then you lose because you won't, but you lose all your leverage there because if you, do you have the number 12 pick?
And Shador Sanders at that time, people didn't really think he was going to fall out of the top 10. You think they didn't hire him and they and they hired Brian Schottenheimer to slow play their way into because if you if you signed on this offseason and they would have to trade up. Well, they have no leverage there now. Well, let's take this off the Cowboys here just a little bit where I do agree with regardless of if this is crazy.
The sort of the point of the segment is that regardless of where she ends up, I do think it impacts the bears little teaser for Hogan Johnson. We went through the process of going through the first nine picks with Eric Edhold and we got to the pick right before the bears. And it was like,
Is this where he goes to the Saints? I think it would make sense. But regardless, whether or not two quarterbacks go ahead to the Bears, if we just think about it that way or not, impacts the Bears. Because what we ended up with was Sanders did come off the board at number nine. And it became a debate between Tyler Warren and
And Mike McHale Williams from Georgia there with who was left on the board in that scenario. And these are the types of exercises these teams are actually doing right now. Right. Trying to go through all the permutations and combinations that can happen ahead of them. And I think a big part of this will be what happens with Shador Sanders. And if he is sitting there in that scenario,
So only one quarterback goes in the top nine. Well, you did just lose then an extra player that's probably on your board that you would have considered to draft. And yes, ideally, you'd love to be able to trade back in that scenario. And so is there someone willing to do it? The Cowboys, it's interesting. It's intriguing. I like it. Still seems unlikely to me. The Steelers, the fact that they haven't figured this out with Aaron Rodgers yet, to me is a tell.
A little bit of a tell, a little bit of a clue that whether it's... They want to see how it plays out. They, but also probably Aaron. Because it's been pretty widely reported, especially by Diana Rossini, that like, this is going to take some time. And I could understand that from Aaron's standpoint. Well, I don't want to go sign somewhere and then see them draft a quarterback two weeks later. So...
And maybe the Steelers are like, well, let's see if we can go get our quarterback. And if not, then we'll sign Aaron Rodgers. So I do think that is a team to continue to watch as a potential. And if they are in that spot, they do see him fall to 10. They could get desperate and they could make that trade with the Bears. Well, and also you would just tell Aaron, hey, look, you're our starter this year. We are drafting a quarterback for the future. We want you to mentor him. That's not how that works. Why not? And he's 48 years old. I know. But if you draft Shadur Sanders.
With all the hype that'll come with that. And Dion talking on this show and doing interviews every week at Colorado, being asked about it. Take Jackson Dart. The second Aaron Rodgers looks like Aaron Rodgers from last year, they're going to have to play him. So, and Rodgers, for all Rodgers flaws, he's actually a pretty smart guy. He understands that. There's a guy over there by the name of Mike Tomlin. He'll stare you down if you even bring it up and then it will not be asked again. Yeah. And they can do whatever they want.
So, yeah, I think that when we talk about how Shador can make or break this, if he falls to 10, it creates an opportunity potentially for something to happen. If the Steelers or the Colts or whoever you want to say wants to try to move up there because they're worried about another team.
But if he gets taken at nine or traded, a team trades up to nine to jump the bears. Cause as hoax pointed out to me, well, if somebody is going to trade up to 10, why wouldn't they just trade up to nine? So I think that there's those two variables to consider. And then I think the final thing for me, and I'll make my final statement on this whole thing is if,
If Shador Sanders is still on the board at 12 to the Cowboys, they are drafting Shador Sanders. I guarantee it. I guarantee it. How much? Wow. How much? I guarantee it. It is such a Cowboys move. How much? I don't disagree with that. It is such a Cowboys move. They are going. How much? Yeah. Well, what will you do? What will you do? Actually, not how much. What will you do? Even if it's not to eventually lure Deion.
which maybe it is four years from now, but even if it's not that, it would be like doing Dion. Like we know Jerry loves Dion. Loves him. I think that part's plausible. Now, would I guarantee it? No, but you have. I just did. And now you are on the hook and you owe Carmen and I
Both of us are round a golf, if you're wrong. There we go. Deal. And you have to pay for the round. The deal. And it has to be in the state of Illinois. Oak Knoll, the goat farm. I know we're wrapping this up. Just real fast, two-second answer. Do you think it's better for the Bears that Sanders is there or that he goes in the top 10? I think it's better he goes in the top 10.
or in the top nine that rather top right yeah um i agree you think it's better if he goes because i just i don't think the tr whatever trade down scenarios there might be with the quarterback might still be there perhaps because there might be another team that's desperate for jackson dart desperate for dark and weird with quarterbacks man if there were enough teams behind there that you could guarantee to leverage against the steelers
to say, okay, somebody has to trade up in that spot for Shador point of no return, man, the bears could get, think about the kind of how they could set themselves up for the next couple of years, the way they have the last couple of years with some of these trades they've made, but it, because it's too hard to see that vision a hundred percent through, even though I just guaranteed it's
certain things, then I'll take the house money and I'll take Shador going in the top nine because that's going to bump a quality position player to us. Definitely the same replay. Makes sense. All right, we got to take our next break here. That was fun. We got another draft prospect. One-on-one with Carm. One-on-one is the greatest interview the show's ever had. It was one-on-one, right?
Well, Steven comes in at the end with a bunch of questions that were better than yours. Yeah. Great. I can't wait to hear it. Hey, but first.

went to Oregon and he is from Chicago. That's right. Uh, this is local product done. Well had to buy his time, get on the field, but you know, we went, we went defensive side of the ball first. Now we're going off fence has talked to the bears, bears, bears meeting with them again, developmental superstar, easy guy to root for giving you a two for today. So, uh, we talked to him, me and Steven talked. Yes. And before you go, just so people know, um,
At the Bears Pro Day, he was there as well. Yeah, that's correct. Just a day ago. He talks about all that in this interview. It's all coming up for you. Exciting. This is our guy. Two people for you. Here we go. Here's Marcus. You're going to like him.
Straight out of Chicago Heights, Homewood, Flossmoor High School, longtime Oregon Duck, and who knows, maybe a Chicago Bear. You never know. Marcus Harper, good to see you, my friend. Thanks for being here. The second, actually. Let me give the full respect to the family. Appreciate you for having me on, man. For real. So...
incredible journey for you. Didn't get to play early at Oregon, had to sit it out. A lot of dudes would have transferred. You didn't, you were like, listen, I, life is not meant to be easy. I'm going to, I'm going to show everybody that I can do this when I get my opportunity. So hats off to you. A lot of guys use that transfer portal a ton nowadays and you stuck it out. Can you tell us why?
Yeah, I made a promise to myself before I got to college, like no matter how hard it was going to get at Oregon, I wasn't going to leave. I honestly knew that I could be a contributing factor to the Ducks. Like there wasn't nobody that could tell me otherwise. And I just had that confidence in myself. So I just need opportunity. And then with the coaching staff change opportunity to present itself, I took full advantage.
So left guard, is that where you, did you expect that that's where you would get your opportunity? And is that where you're most comfortable? I know you've been on all over the offensive line, but that's where you play the most. Yeah, so I missed a round. I wanted to do left guard because I knew I had a lot of experience at right coming out of high school. So let me just build it up so that way I can play both.
Um, I remember my coach, he had asked me where I wanted to play. I could have easily chosen right, but I knew I didn't have, like, a ton of reps on the left side. So I chose left personally and then, you know, worked out in my favor.
That's a good, that's, that's see your future, be your future right there. So, so what's been happening as far as the draft goes here? I know you didn't get the combine invite, but you're, you're battling through that. I think you've talked to the bears. Is that right? Yeah. I got to come down. I'll be leaving Eugene in a couple of days. I'm coming down for the local pro day around there. So I got to work out with them. Then I go to Seattle, uh,
the 10th. Then I got to go to Las Vegas. Well, then I talked to Las Vegas and I talked to San Francisco. So got a lot of people, you know, I was talking to over that after pro day.
I assume you're looking at it like, look, I need to get in someone's camp and show everybody what I can do. Is that kind of your mindset right now? My mindset is to continue showing what I've already been doing. Like I said, I feel like I'm a byproduct of just being overlooked and underrated. But the proof is in the pudding. Like, my stats speak for themselves. And, you know, my body works speak for itself, too, versus the competition level I went up against.
So just making sure that you guys don't forget, you know, you get used to a familiar face. So, well, I mean, that's the thing playing. I mean, first of all, you played against great competition. Second of all, you guys have won a ton of games. Yeah. So how long did it take you to realize like, okay, now I'm out here. Now I'm going to show you, but there's got to be some level of, you know, maybe, I don't know. Was there any signature moment where you had some big blocker? Like, okay, I'm here. I, I, now I actually know I can do this.
Um, and my football career, like thinking about going to the next level, cause I've had both. Okay. Let's, let's start football career and then we can, we can. Yeah. And my football career was like my freshman year. I was at a left tackle and this is after a game, my offensive line coach, coach of Nagus. He told me, he was like, yo, you ain't playing really good. He was like, if you don't play good in this next game, I'm gonna send you down to the B team. And that's like the, that's kind of like the,
We had a HL. We kind of had two teams 18 B team is kind of like the developmental freshman. I guess you could say whatever and I was like, I'm not going down in the beat. I'm not doing the B team. I'm not doing that. And so I pulled playing against like Sandberg and I'll pull or knock a dude helmet off and then that's all. Okay. I like this football stuff and in college. What was that moment for me in college? I would say it was a practice.
It was a spring practice, and I remember my offensive line coach, Adrian Clement, he was getting into it with somebody, and I was in one-on-ones, and I was blocking, I think, Mikel Afayese,
and I just dumped him. And then it was honestly just like a quick switch, like, all right, bro, you here. And this is like, that was like the spring of 22 or something like that. So that's when I knew like, all right, bro, like you here for real. Yeah. So let's fast forward all the way to this year. You guys, you run in the table and then you ran into the, ran into the Buckeyes who of course, you know, went on to take the thing. But what, what, what's your memories of that game and just what was the best part of the year for you?
Yeah, honestly, it was the first time around we played them because we played them twice. So when it came up to Eugene, just that whole atmosphere, like big game, you know, number two versus number three, like you couldn't have written a better, you know, story. Because like those are the games that you dream about being in, like these high caliber games, you know, these big moments. And so that game for me was just like, it was surreal. Just to be in the atmosphere, family was out there watching me do my thing. It was just, it was phenomenal, honestly.
Yeah, I mean, that's not the NFL, but that's the NFL. Yeah, basically, yeah. Right? I mean, y'all are pros. You didn't play against him, but I'm just looking at the draft, and I saw you had Boise on the schedule this year, and Jenty popped one for 70 against you guys, which is not easy to do. Yeah. What'd you think of that guy from a distance, just sitting there on the sideline? Yeah, he was way bigger. He's a lot bigger.
He's not as tall as I thought he was going to be, but he's a lot more solid than I anticipated. But he was a great running back. I can't wait to see what he'll do at the next level. Hopefully, you know, me and him end up playing on the same team at some point in time. But it'll be a big back, big power. You know, he kind of carried that Boise State team all due respect, you know what I'm saying? Like, in terms of, like, their offense. I mean, he was their offense. So, to watch him do what he did and, you know, get close to breaking Barry Sanders' record, that was...
It was something special to say that we went against him, especially early on in the season. He looks from a distance like a nightmare to have to tackle that. Did you see him at Pro Day? Any chance to look at his Pro Day pictures? Yeah, and that was wild. Yeah. He was living in that weight room. Hey, did you think people were sleeping on bone necks at this time last year?
Absolutely. Yeah. I don't, I think you had a, I forgot who was in his draft. I know Jane Daniels was in there quarterback wise. Uh, who else is another person in there? I don't know. I think just people just felt the fell asleep to both nicks and things like that. But I mean, he proved they, you know, it really didn't matter. Cause he came in and he's turning that Denver Broncos program around for the better. So he got a couple, you got Troy Franklin over there, you know, another Doug, uh,
And, I mean, that's just who Bo has been year in and year out. When he got to Oregon, he showed glimpses of it, but his highest in the year, he was doing that week in and week out. So it didn't surprise me that when he got to Denver, he just picked up where he left off.
So you and well, one of the guys in that class Caleb, but that's how you're talking about. But yeah, you wouldn't mind blocking for that guy. Oh, yeah. No, I think I want to say I think I know he just needs, you know, beef beefed up on an offensive line for sure. I understand that. I think how you got given protection because you know, he's he's a scrambler. He like he's very mobile but make making sure that when he get just give him enough time to get his reads down because like he's still he's still young quarterback, you know, I'm saying like pretty sure the processing the processing
process and process, I guess, for him. It's taken a little while, but that's our job as offensive linemen to give him as much time as he needs in this home.
Marcus, did you grow up a Bear fan? I honestly did not grow up a Bear fan. I didn't grow up a football fan. I'm going to be quite honest with you, football. But after I made that hit my freshman year, like I fell in love with it for sure. Yeah, I was reading up on you. I think it's something like, what did you call yourself? A nice asshole? Is that it? Yeah, yeah. We started doing that at Oregon because I feel like Oregon, my first offensive line coach, he was very good about us being like,
good men, good individuals. And Adrian Clem came up there and was like, nah, we finna run, we finna run the table. Like, you know, F everybody. Like, I don't care. So Luke Terry, he was a part, he was a part of both coaches, coaching staffs. So he kind of blended both of those guys together and was like,
okay, like, we're going to be nice assholes. So on the field, we're going to be cool. I mean, off the field, we'll be cool, calm, collected, best people in the world, you know, open doors, everything like that. But when we're on that field, like, it's really F you. Like, don't nobody care about nothing. It's personal. Right. You got to flip that switch. I don't understand how you all have it. I got to be honest. It seems like it's an insane way to go about your life. But I see the smile, like, popping up there. You love it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's, I don't know, you kind of just get used to it.
It's a very different dynamic. I don't say weird, but you find a way to do it. And every football player, every real competitor, they have that deliberate switch. I got two more for you. One, we'll do a fun one.
I see that you and your mom have the humor in the family. I know a little bit too much about you now, but I did find that out. What are you guys, what are you sharing on the Insta and the TikTok these days? Are you into the milkshake tune that's making its way? The chicken banana, anything like that? Me and my mom always gonna send, we probably gonna send like some Desi Banks, some Drewski to one another.
some comedy. Most of the time, like our staple, we're always going to send like some old, like some fresh Prince of Bel-Air, like some Martin, like compilation together. And we always do that. So I got to send him my David little Martin little joke or whatever. But that's mine. I love it to death.
That's some good old school right there, too. I love it. All right. I'll give you the last real one here for all the GMs that are watching this. What are they going to get if they decide to bring Marcus Harper onto their NFL team? Yeah, you're getting a leader. You're getting someone who does a lot of things with confidence and dominance. And I'm going to do it with an occasional smile. So everything I'm going to do, I'm going to come into it knowing that I'm going to dominate it. And if I can't dominate it at that moment, I'm going to find –
do everything in my power to make sure I get the result that I'm looking for. And then off the field, I'm a leader. I'm a natural born leader, locker room leader. I know when to, I'm not to have fun with everything because it's a child's game with a King's ransom, right? We work too hard to not have fun. Um, we work too hard to not enjoy the fruits of our labor. And I just, for me over having to do that throughout this past year and not even at my entire career, Oregon, I found a balance that works for me best. Um,
and just literally just copy and paste that into a locker room. I know, you know, the beneficiaries of that because, again, it's a long season, you know, last year and even longer season in the NFL. You know, your body's not feeling the greatest every day. And so you got to have fun with it. So I'm going to balance that out and kind of just let guys just be themselves. But, you know, when it's time to tend to business, it's time to tend to business.
Confidence and dominance. I love it. There was a lot of stuff in that soundbite. That could be ended up on somebody's wall. Yes, Steven, you want to get in here? I'm going to get a couple in here. You're one of several Oregon Ducks that's probably going to be drafted here this year. One of them is Josh Connerly, who
who he's got a top 30 with the bears. You played next to him a lot when you were at left guard, what do you kind of see his game as and how does, how would he be a fit for the bears or, you know, just the next level? Yeah, I would say that athleticism is key, especially in the offensive line where a lot of offensive linemen don't rely on that for some reason. Um, we're athletes just like the guys were going up against, we're just a little bit bigger than them. Um, so he, he's figured out a way to kind of neutralize a lot of guys with his athleticism. Um, he's starting to understand like what's technique style works for him best. Um,
I mean, I don't see anything being able to stop him. So I feel like he's a great fit for any team that gets to get a chance to visit with him and things like that. But like, yeah, his athleticism is top tier. Some of the best I've seen in the country. So yeah.

Another one of your teammates, Jordan James, he's expected to be drafted. Bears need a running back. You blocked for this guy. What do you think about him and maybe his fit for the Bears or any team in the NFL? Yeah, he's a downhill runner for sure. We call him 4-4 Mo for a reason. He's going to get to that second level and turn to another gear. I mean, he's a hell of a good guy in the locker room, real funny.
So, you know, he's a great running back in this draft, too. I think another sleeper in this draft, too. I think he's getting outshouted, obviously, by Jente. All due respect, but, you know, that's... I mean, if Jente's RB1, Jordan James RB2, if not 1A, so...
Well, you guys had Bucky Irving last year as well, or two years ago now. Oregon's just churning out great running backs. What is it about the program that does that for you guys? It doesn't, Marcus. Come on. Yeah. I mean, none of these running backs are being able to do without us, honestly. We're able to offer
I feel like I've been a part of. I've had a thousand yard running back. That dates all the way back to high school too, like Sean Allen. I don't know if you guys remember him, but he played for the Vikings. He had 2,000 yards my senior year. We just take pride in the run game. We understand the run game is a compliment to the pass game, but we're not going to disregard the run game at all.
And, you know, we got great running backs that we block for. And, you know, we get them a little crease and they do the rest. So, I mean, like I said, I've had two back-to-back thousand-yard running backs in Jordan James and Bucky Irvin, like, proof is in the pudding.
One last question for me and I'll let you go. Any goals for your rookie season in the NFL? Yeah, first goal is honestly to get drafted. Second one is to make the 53 man. And then the last one is to be a PFWA rookie team. I know a lot of offensive linemen. There's only five offensive linemen that can
and make that rookie team. Seeing my name as one of those guys would be a great goal to set the tone for myself in the league. - I'm gonna give you a Marcus Harper euphemism. Set 'em high and let 'em fly. That's the goals right there. - Yeah. - We think they're even, it's in the flow.
What's going on here? Set a mile, let them fly. I like that. Let's go. Hey, we can feel your energy, Marcus. I think anybody can. I was, you know, so we, listen, not often a guy out of Chicago Heights gets a chance to do this. So, and you've traveled way out west. I think we should bring you home now. I think it's time. Let's go. Let's do it. Well, I got Ryan Poles on the speed line. We'll be talking. So anyway, thanks for making time for us here at CHGO Bears. Cool. Appreciate you guys.
Guy hates golf. Now he's doing golf. That's what he said. It was nothing to do with golf. But you loved it. Yeah, why didn't you tell him how much it sucks? If you want me to tell Marcus Harper when he... Call him. When Pulse follows my lead and signs Harper...
Were you not showing me golf highlights while we were just airing that interview? That's true, too. Well, I try to be a good teammate for you. A lot of mixed signals going on here. Trying to be a good teammate for you. Just listen to Crystal. It is funny. I mean, with Carm, when you go out and play golf with him and he pulls up with his...
1842 clubs that are made out of wood. Woods are actually made of wood. It's what's our made out of separator. It's baggage. It's a hollowed out garbage can. Yeah, it's, it's great. So this is the elitist that here's where I will defend carve a little bit. Oh, here we go. It's the bag that makes the club seem older than they really are. The bag might actually be from the forties.
Okay. First of all, some of us, you know, listen, I would love to play some golf this summer and have some sweet PXGs if they want to hook me up. And I'll talk about the great game of golf and the PXGs all day long. But if that's not the case, I am playing with my play it again sports. What did I? I upgraded a couple years ago. You were offered PXGs, my friend. Yeah, I blew it.
It's okay. No problem. I'll just start crying. Listen, listen, listen. I'm listening. We're listening. I used to have feelers. Those went out of production. You mean the shoes? Feelers? I had feelers for like 20 years, and then I upgraded. I didn't even know they made golf clubs. It's like I had K-Swiss. I had the Skechers. I went from feelers to I've got pink clubs.
They were just bought off the racket, played against sports. Like a good person would do. In what year? When did I buy them? Yeah. Recent. Oh, okay. Fairly recent. Now my woods are from 1942, but I still hit the ball farther than this bum. That's not true.
That is very true. That is very true. Well, he might technically go farther. It just goes 900 yards right. Please. This is one of the... It's not listening to any of this. It doesn't faze me because none of it's true. A lot of people... Instead of... Here's what's happening right now, by the way. The chat has never been nicer to Carb. And for some reason, we're just beating him up on golf at the same time. So we should soak in that the...
The chat here today really appreciated hearing it. He's had a roller coaster. He's had a roller coaster week with the chat. Because you had the speech, which was like maybe your most elite moment ever. Then you did the presser breakdown, which we all know how that went. And now today, you have the golf. Everybody's backing you with the golf. All right. Listen, just stick with Cozzolino.
photo. Carm sucks. Thank you, Cozzolino. Hey, Bo Chanton, you know not what you say. Don't, don't, and all these people comparing tennis to golf. In one sport, you sweat because you're being an athlete. The other one, you sweat because it's hot. There's no comparison between these two. One is an activity, the other is a sport. And also, by the way, I'll even grant you, tennis is
On TV, I love it, but I get it. It's not as great. Tennis in person, one of the best things you can do. Golf in person, which hole am I going to pick and fall asleep on under what tree? I mean, come on. We're not talking about the same thing here.
Have you ever been to a golf event, by the way? Yeah, I went to Medina. It was called the Ryder Cup, and I put it right up there with the Rose Bowl as the two cool, and probably the Super Bowl, the three coolest sporting events ahead of the Stanley Cup final. It would be the Ryder Cup. You are lying. I'm not lying. Better than the Hawks winning the Stanley Cup. I didn't say that. I didn't say in terms of moments. Going to bad games. In terms of events that I've covered.
I am flabbergasted. In fact, I think I'd put it over the Super Bowl. Oh, my God. Okay, well, to each his own. That is a wild thing to say. Super Bowl is... That is a wild thing to say. Let me... The Super Bowl you don't really need to go to. Are you basing this off because the Ryder Cup is like, what, once every four years or something like that? Two years. Two years, I'm sorry. But it doesn't come here a lot. It's just... It's an amazing event where you have... You have...
Two teams, multiple different countries because the European team has all the European countries. The atmosphere is insane. The fans are cheering the entire time. And it's a beautiful golf course. Don't you have to be quiet when you're a fan? That's why it's different, Karma. I'm trying to explain it to you. The Ryder Cup, you're allowed to yell. You just said the fans are cheering the entire time. They are.
Oh, I see. There it is. It's like the waist management. His brain finally. It's like the waist management. You're telling me that when they're swinging, you can cheer? Yes. Yes. They go nuts. It's like the Blackhawks anthem. The players will make a putt and they'll be like, let's go. So the other team. Last year's Ryder Cup, they had a fight basically break out. Do you remember that? I do not. But okay. Ryder Cup. I'll check it out. Listen, just don't tell me that.

Listen, they're all adorable. It's cute. Baseball players, starting pitchers, Greg Mattis, golfs 8,000. How many, you know, some of them are just scratch golfer. What's up, Patrick?

See you show daily. This is the one. This is the 10 minutes this year that we talk about the game of golf. Bulls get a nice. It's a big day. This is like a rite of passage. It's spring is here. Even if you don't love. Have we gotten a Chris Vernon show? Masters update yet? Do you guys remember those?
We played one last year on this show. You'll know what I'm talking about. How's this? Would you rather watch golf? That's one in the chat. Two, would you rather watch Greg Braggs mow his lawn? Oh, God, I can't wait. Honestly, I do think I am going to be mowing my lawn this weekend. It looks like it's about ready. One, golf. Two, Braggs mow his lawn. One is golf. Two is Braggs mowing his lawn. I would rather watch you mow the lawn. That'd be amazing. Well, come on by this weekend.
Should be eventful with my leg. Can't believe Karma Sweet Bippy's not with me. Karma Sweet Bippy and I were on opposite side of the street today. It's a tough day for the Sweet Bippy. I have a headache. Why? There's just no reason to bash watching golf. That's true. There is. There isn't. It's an immature take by me, but I, you know, the... Masters Sunday or game three of the...
Western Conference quarterfinals. Western Conference quarterfinals. Oh, that's... The NIT. The NIT. I'd rather watch sixth grade basketball. How much NIT did you watch this year? None, but I'd rather watch that than...
Actually, probably like six minutes. And another thing that we need to make sure we tell everybody about is our draft party. And you're going to hear about it because every day that you don't sign up for this is another day closer to me coming to your house and fighting you. So come out to our draft party, April 20 people. I just did April 24th and 25th here coming up two weeks from today.
We will be at 115 Bourbon Street in Marionette Park, presented by Circus Sports. Tickets are available at allchgo.com slash events. If you are a diehard, you can get a discount on that event, 20% off. But your tickets include all you can drink and all you can eat. We'll all be there. Corey Wooten and Lance Briggs as special guests. Some surprises along the way that Hoag teased. I didn't even know there was going to be surprises, but apparently there's going to be surprises.
So that's exciting. And we don't know what the bears are going to do with their four picks in their first three rounds, but you can come experience the draft party and react to them along with us while we have a lot of fun. So please come out or I will find you and tickets are going fast. So you got to make sure you get them now. I'm so excited for that night. It's going to be a great, great evening. It always is. Which night? Well, just did that thing where I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not. Yeah. I'm so excited.
What? Seriously, though, what? I'm more excited for night one, but I love night two also. What night are you more excited for home? One at 10 or the three picks in the second and third round back to essentially back to back in the second round. I'm a big fan of Friday. It's such a Friday is more of a whole day. Yeah, you get to get in the weeds with Hogan on a Friday. Yep.
I like that. I like Friday. It's a little bit more chill. Pizzatola's threatening in the chat. Our two weeks car on the countdown is on. We're going to see Pizzatola in 14 days. What do you think Pizzatola's going to look like? A stud. Scary. He's going to look like the best Pizzatola that he can possibly be, and that's going to be good enough for me. Do supers. Lots of them, Hogue. Okay, thank you.
Chaz Robertson says, can't wait to see y'all in two weeks at 115 Bourbon Street. Let's go, Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Let's go, Chaz. I think Chaz is going to be nice to me, but he might not be nice to me. It could go either way, me and Chaz. Isaac Siegel, $5. Karm saying, don't care about the Masters, but goes on a 10-minute synopsis on his tennis escapades is hilarious. LOL, all love Karm. That's true.
Remember when you were a ball boy? It's phenomenal. Shout out Nick Wright. Shout out the US Open. He blew it. Anthony Trinchita, $5. Pluto is a planet, Hoag. RIP Les Grabstein. Wow. Not anymore, right? It is forever. Pluto is a planet. Les was really upset that they were saying it's not a planet anymore. He's like, you can't do that to Pluto. Can't do that to Pluto. What else are you going to talk about at 3 in the morning?
Actually, you would be a phenomenal overnight host, even though it's your dream, Carm. This guy is on spaces all the time at 2 in the morning anyway. I can do it. First of all, I was a phenomenal overnight host. They used to let me do it. They don't let me do it anymore. Second of all, you're right. They won't let you. Wouldn't he be great? You could just turn it on and just talk. Yeah, I would love that. I do do that. I already do that. Oh, my God. It's not recorded.
Calling Mitch Rosen when the show's over. You don't have any money for overnights. This guy will do it for free, and it's a perfect answer. Yeah, who needs sleep? Chevy Wellington says, Greg, only one's...
Only knows about New Haven pizza because of barstool pizza reviews. That's not true. I know about New Haven pizza because of my good friend, Phil LaTosha, AKA draft Dr. Phil, who lives in Hartford, Tennessee.
or harvard connecticut no he lives in walling wallingford connecticut wallingford connecticut is where he lives yeah i'm probably not getting that right and phil's gonna kill me close enough but regardless and i made a trip out to connecticut and uh stayed in his town and we went to pizza went to get pizza and it does live up to the hype it does it's great i actually have an answer to his question though take that chevy wellington what's the question oh the question is james pierce
Mike Green, Shamar Stewart, or Mikel Williams at 10 if we go edge? Okay, my answer is Williams. So briefly, Shamar Stewart, I think I'm out at 10. Just doesn't have the instincts, has all the traits. Dane Brugler has him at a 26.9% missed tackle rate in college. So over one out of four tackles he would just miss. Not great. I'm good. I'm good.
there was one scout in Bob McGinn's piece that said, no idea how to play football. That's not good. So at 10, it's too rich. Mike Green. This is my guy. I would take Mike Green.
Yeah, see, here's the problem with Mike Green, and it's not just all the off-the-field stuff that he's obviously got to answer, but I don't think he's a Dennis Allen fit. Too thin. He doesn't have the arm length. He doesn't have the – he's a little bit on the shorter end compared to some of these other guys, and some of these scouts think he's a 3'4", so that feels like a reach to me at 10 as well. You love James Pierce. Oh, yeah.
Didn't you love James Pierce? No, he was the person I was most interested to talk to at the Combine because there was questions about the kind of teammate and background stuff. And then there wasn't really much clarity in that when he talked to the Combine. So, no, I'm not a James Pierce guy. Yeah, yeah, there's some character concerns here. There's questions about if he actually loves football. Bob McGinn, the scouts were saying that, like, you couldn't find anybody at Tennessee that would say something good about him.
That's kind of a red flag. It might also be better as a 3-4. So all of these guys, as I'm doing my homework on these guys, I'm struggling with. And then there's Mikel Williams, MyGuyWilliams,
There seems to be a little bit of momentum to him and the Bears. Well, I think he checks a lot of the Bears boxes is where I'm going with on this one. So regardless of how I feel about him, he's got the size. He looks like a Dennis Allen fit size arm length. He was a team captain. Bears love that strong character coming back. This is in the beast. Now I'm reading Kirby smart said quote. He's very versatile for us in terms of omniscience.
on the field, but there's no greater value than what he does in our locker room. He's a great leader for us. Bears love that, so it checks that box. His production went down last year. Actually,
It was because of an ankle injury. He got a head in the opener, and then he said he played it less than 60% the entire season from that point on. Right. So you could say that's concerning, I guess, or you, and the Bears will tend to do it sometimes too, they'll be like, well, no, he was in 100% last year, so we think he checked out medically for us. We think he'll be much better this year. Of all these edge rusher options,
That's the guy I would go with at 10 if I'm picking an edge rusher there, and it's also the guy I think the Bears would go with. That's fair. It is a little frustrating when you talk about Mike Green, and the only thing you can say is that he's not a Dennis Allen fit, and I understand that that's a big box. It's not the only thing. He's got two sexual assault allegations. Okay, okay. I understand. He dominated lesser competition. I'm certainly not downplaying that at all. I'm just strictly speaking about the player, to be clear. Well, it's not only just the D8.
size fit thing it's i he might be better in a 3-4 defense which is not what the bears are running if you look at if when i walk the look at the highlights of him i do wonder will he be able to be successful in the nfl at that size which sometimes they are dane loves him he's got him 10th overall i mean dude he's a he's a bull yeah if it wasn't for obviously the behind the scenes which i'm not he's a bull but he's not a bear he's a bull how about them bulls um
Pat's here for my moral support. But now you can reference Pat that nobody can see, but I can't. Is that what this is? Yes. Bull and the Bear was a great radio show back in the day. That's a good bar downtown. You guys ever go? Bull and the Bear? No. I haven't been to the Bull and the Bear. Well, I don't think it's there anymore. It was there. I do remember the Bull and the Bear. I'll let you say that. It was on Orleans. I had beverages with Jim Jackson there once. Gabe Garden, yay. Yeah.
Gabe Gardenier, 999 Super Chat. It's French. What a week it's been. Carm ruined my hope for Chicago sports. While Sox can't win a game. That was hilarious. Dude, the way the White Sox lost yesterday was just...
Speaker 1 : Unbelievable. It was hilarious. Actually going to tie the game and the guy gets hurt. I mean the home, Speaker 0 : He's running third sniper on the roof, but yeah, he says, no, go back to this. Go back to this. I know you might not be, but he said he got a hamstring injury. He's came back too soon. It's cold out.
Did anybody in that dugout think about pinch running for him? Yeah. And the tying run. And they brought up. And they brought up some dude from AAA that could have been the pinch runner. I guess that's like his role. But whatever. It's the White Sox. They suck. It says White Sox can't win a game. But more importantly here, we buried the lead. And so did Gardenier. He says almost gotten a fight with a pigeon downtown. Multiple pigeons. With multiple pigeons.
Pigeons are tough. Watch out for that, Gardner. Pigeons are crazy. They just don't move. You could literally just kick a pigeon. But his week was made when I knew, when Greg knew that Miles Boykin was from ND. That major week, Gardner? Gardner. That is a low bar. I mean, I'm happy to make your week. Read the rest of the Super Chat. It is a low bar. That's what I just said. Yeah, I mean. With the rest of that Super Chat.
But that's fine. Good luck with the fight with the pigeons, Gardenier. I'm rooting for you. I used to have a pigeon. It's his new name. Just embrace it. Look at the profile picture. It screams Gardenier. You know why? You know who loves pigeons? Kids. I had a pigeon living on my balcony for a while.
It found the pod it planned in the corner and it lived there and it gave, you know, it hatched an egg and it was there. And I, you know, I named him Pidge. It's all happened. He was hanging out. He's protecting the egg. We have a Pidge in our chat. He was in our chat today. Yeah. We have a Pidge that is this like someone, is this the pigeon? I mean, that's crazy coincidence there that you named it Pidge. I named it Pidge, Pidge in the chat. And we have a Pidge in the chat.
Look at that. Bear down. There's Pidge. Look at it. Woo, woo. There's Pidge right there. The punchline, Braggs, is that the baby didn't make it. Died on the vine on my balcony. We had a ceremony for Pidge. Did I ever tell you the story about the robin's nest we had right by our back door one year? And, like, it was there for weeks. We were like, we actually earned the trust of the mother because it was right by our back door. We had to come in and out.
So she trusted us. The eggs were all there. The babies hatched. They were in the nest. I said, one day I'm sitting by the back door and this hawk, baby's gone. Oh my gosh. That fast. It was in two seconds. I think James was like, what was that? And I was like, nothing. What do you mean?
The birds grew up and flew away. Would that hawk do that to a small dog? Have you ever heard of that? I think in some situations. It would, right?
Dr. Truth's asking whatever happened to the bird war at Bragg's house. I'm happy to report this year. We put up this mesh wire mesh on each side of like where they were entering over our awning. And so now the birds are for the first time since we've been living in this house for three years are not going to just go insane building a nest right over our back door and then crap all over my deck. I'm so excited for that.
Great story. It is a great story. That was a three-year battle, okay? I agree with the comments here, though. Like, you didn't really give a finale to that story. Well, now you have, but, like, you didn't really know how it went the rest of last summer. It didn't go great, Hoag. It didn't go great. They kept crapping all over my background.
patio it sucked all right guy finley ten dollars i fall deeper into sadness with karm a man once so mighty in the bear's kingdom appears to have devolved to don burr dressing i am in lion's color say it's true what would jenny think karm do you know who jenny is i think she's talking about virginia mccaskey i'm guessing right yeah yeah
I do apologize for Virginia and the family. What's her name from London think? What was her name? Pam. Pam. From the wear station. Don't ever forget that. I'm sorry. Guy, good point. I'll never wear this again.
Why? It's North Carolina blue. Michael Jordan. Yeah, thank you, Braggs. Actually, good point. Take that, guy. I wore this for Jordan. Shut up, guy. Straight Honolulu blue, which is the official color of the Detroit Lions. You even seem to have the Lions, like, stripes going on over there. I'm going back to your take. Go back to your take. Carolina. This is Carolina blue. This is where I wore it for Jordan. I'm not wearing it for Detroit. Come on. Carolina blue is even lighter than that, though. It's different. That's true. He's right. Everybody's right.
I rescind my shut up guy statement. Joseph, Sin Giovanni, 10. I always forget that one. Swiss Franks, right? Is there Swiss Frank? Kelvin Banks will be the pick at 10. No one thought a month out. Darn. All right. Would be a pick would be the pick a few years ago. The only difference with that, though, is a lot of people have mocked Kelvin Banks to the Bears.
Early on in the process, that was like the most popular pick. That was hot. You are right about Darnell Wright. Darnell Wright was like sort of a late couple weeks right before the draft sort of riser, and that ended up being the guy.
So, all right. That's going to do it for us today. Fun show. Appreciate everybody watching, listening. Buy your draft tickets now. It's going to be a lot of fun. Join us at 115 Bourbon Street. Become a diehard and you get a discount April 24th, 25th. We're going to be rolling from 6 to 10 both of those nights. It's an outstanding venue and you get all you can eat and drink this year, which is a new thing with the tickets. I'll be taking full advantage. I agree.
What karma? Gardener. Garden hoser. Garden ye. Gardener. This is a roller coaster. I like garden hoser. Can you please show Gabe some respect? I am. By having some fun with his name. You showed the Pidge more respect. Well, now he's got to resort to garden hoser. Pigeons are dangerous and very aggressive. We don't know. They're just walking in your way. They don't do anything. All right. Um...
I think we covered everything. Back tomorrow at noon, Carm and Braggs have you covered with Adam Rank. And then a special guest. Special guest tomorrow. Let's not release that right now because we need confirmation for these things. Okay. Adam Rank will be joining, as he always does on Fridays. Decided to get back to the rankings tomorrow.
What did we end up calling it last week? Ranks a lot. Rank them up. Ranks a lot. Should we do ranks for nothing this week or should we stick with ranks a lot? Ranks for nothing. No, ranks a lot is good. All right. We'll talk to you tomorrow at noon. See you then.
Hey, it's Espo. And for the last decade that I've lived in my home, my wife and I have had a giant problem. But with a giant sliding door, it makes our house so hot and we could never agree on a solution. That is until all Pro Shade Concepts came over to our house and showed us their hundreds of designs and colors that could help make our home cooler with a patio shade.
We decided to get one of the roll-down patio shades that's motorized, that's made of durable fabric so I don't have to worry about having to replace this thing soon because it's made of something cheap. They are one of the best in the Valley. They're the most trust
Like I did.
