The Miami Hurricanes 2022 spring game just wrapped up at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. You saw a who's who of coaches and VIP guests on the sidelines. Mario Cristobal's staff, including big names like linebackers coach Charlie Strong, OC Josh Gattis and defensive analyst Jason Taylor made quite the impression. Former Canes football studs like Bryant McKinnie and Antrel Rolle were interviewed during the ACC Network broadcast.
Host Alex Donno reviewed the standout performances from quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, running backs Thad Franklin and Henry Parrish, safeties James Williams and Avantae Williams and defensive lineman Jacob Lichteinstein. They were among a handful of performers who really stood out on the day. The offensive line looked more physical than last season and the defense took good tackling angles overall.
Donno went over the biggest negative on the day: the lack of execution from the wide receivers. Can they get in synch with their quarterbacks by the start of the 2022 season? One receiver did stand out in a positive way, though, and that was slot receiver Xavier Restrepo, who continued his positive form from spring practices.
