Okay, so it's kind of a long story, but I'm going to shorten it down nice and quick. About a month ago, my daughter had her baptism, great baptism. We went to my sister's house afterwards, who I chose to be the godparent, her and her husband. They asked if they could throw the baptism party afterwards. Everything was great. My parents live in Florida.

So we decided to give them a call on FaceTime at the party with everyone. And for some reason, my mom gave myself and my wife... Okay, start all over again. Start all over again. Leave out for some reason. You know these people. You know your mother. You know your dad. Yeah. So don't say for some reason. You know exactly why. So go ahead. Start that again. You called them to FaceTime in Florida during the baptism party and... To say hello. And my mom gave us the silent treatment.

We did not know why we were getting the silent treatment after the phone hung up in front of everybody, which kind of spoiled the mood for the rest of the party. My sister, who was the godparent whose house we were at. That's too bad that it spoiled everything for the rest of the party for everyone. Who gave your mother that much power?

No, well, it wasn't really. It was more my wife and I. We just kind of felt because we didn't know what it was about. We just kind of felt a little blindsided. Really? And how did your mother feel blindsided? No, no, sorry. My wife and I felt blindsided. And, and, I got that part. And, and, and, in what way do you think that your mother has felt blindsided?

Because I later found out that I didn't choose my other sister to be a godparent as well. I'm sorry, we set up multiple godparents now? That's news to me.

Do we have teams of godparents? Is that how it's done now? No. The reasoning was that she had recently lost her job and she wasn't feeling great. And so my mom was very upset that I wasn't nice and included her to make her feel better. Your mom is a pain in the neck. She's the greatest mom on earth. And she's a pain in the neck. And she's a pain in the neck.

Yes, thank you. You're right, Dr. Laura. Right. So she didn't think of the well-being of your child. She thought of the well-being of hers.

So let her pout. It's funny you say that. That kind of boils down to kind of what happened going forward. I then sent her a message after the party saying, hey, mom, I understand you're upset. Let's jump on a call so we can talk and I can explain my reasoning for this to try to just diffuse the whole situation. She responded back with some not so nice comments that

Oh, she's a wonderful mom. I love when you call and say, wonderful mom, and she pulls this destructive stuff, especially on a celebration. She's not a wonderful person. Sorry. And I think you should stop connecting with her. Shush. Please, just listen to me. I really think I'm going to help you. Mm-hmm.

She didn't care about the well-being of your kid. She only cared about the well-being of her other kid, hers. She wanted to use your child as a gift to make her other daughter happy when the other daughter just has problems in life, which are not solved by dedicating your kid to her. So your mother is outrageously unreasonable. Don't cater to it. She's had power too long in your family of pulling this.

passive-aggressive punishment if you displease her. I think it's enough. You're a grown man with a wife and a kid. No more playing your mother's game. You are correct. Good. Then leave it be. No more discussions about it. None. No texts about it. Nothing. Okay.
