I am 66 and my wife is 65. Okay, who would like to introduce our subject for today? I could start with it. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. So then I had a robotic prostatectomy. And once that was over with, there was a
severe leakage problems. So I ended up getting what is called an AUS, an artificial urinary sphincter, which is a cuff around the urethra, a reservoir in the abdomen, and a pump in the scrotum. So you press that, and the leakage comes out, and blah, blah, blah. But the one thing that, I mean, they never explained to me really how
What really is going to happen at the end? And it's completely life changing because the sexual part of it is, for the most part, gone. I mean, what we were used to. And I'm sure you know enough about this, but there's no longer any record. The AUS is news to me. That's something I was not familiar with.

We, you know, we've had four beautiful children. We've enjoyed a wonderful marriage and this, um, this is, you know, it's changed a lot of things for us. The intimacy, we still are intimate as much as we can be, but the sexual intercourse is something that will never, ever happen again. I've gone through, um,

Make my wife feel like a woman, if you know what I mean. I'm satisfied in that sense, but it... I can't get there. It saddens me that... Okay, so manually, orally, there is no way you can reach an orgasm. No. No.
Does it at least feel good? And if I do, it's called a dry orgasm. Yeah, yeah. Of course. Yeah, it does. And that's, you know, and I've come to grips with it that it's, you know, this is life from now on. It feels good to be touched. But what I used to enjoy, I will never have again.
So it's, you know, it's a difficult situation, but I've come to grips with it. And I just hope some other people out there can hear this and say, you know, if you have a loving wife for as long as I have, and let me tell you, my wife Colleen has done everything in the world to keep me from falling into a rabbit hole with depression.
because of this and she's just the most wonderful woman in the world and I hope anybody else is going through this and has the same first partner but you know this is our life now this is this is what it is it's it's hard to see this um
It's hard to see this with Bob because he was, we had a great sex life. We were very active and thought we would be so, you know, till the day we died. That's where we're at. You still have the most precious, deepest love I have heard in a long time till the day you die. We do. We do. We do.
And we're blessed with that. It's one of those things I feel bad for Bob. I really do. I feel terrible that he was unfortunate enough to get cancer, but I'm so grateful that he doesn't have it anymore. It was life changing. All of it was life changing. And this is the final outcome.

About it. You know, I do that a lot. I really do. Excellent. I'm kind of a humorous guy. And sometimes she says, you got to quit making fun of yourself because. No, no. Colleen, instead of every day going, oh, you poor man. Stop that.
Just stop it. He's still your man. I put a lot of jokes into it. Good. And I think Colleen has to learn to start laughing at them and make some of her own. You're going to be very fine. You guys are fine. Sorry you're going through this, but if there were ever any two people who would survive this and not lose their love for each other, it's the two of you. You two are amazing. You're amazing.
