Hi, Dr. Laura. Thank you for taking my call. You're welcome. I was calling to see if you might be able to give me some advice. I've been on a weight loss journey for the last year and I've hit a plateau and I'm struggling how to move forward and continue to make progress. I've been struggling for a long time. It is extremely typical for bodies to hit a set point plateau and stay there.
Short periods of time. Yes. Middle periods of time. Lots of time. That's normal. But would you say that at this point you're healthier than you were two years ago? Yeah. Would you say that you look better than you did two years ago? Yes. Well, that requires a celebration, not a downward facing mouth. This may taper off. This may stay this way.
This may be as good as it gets, but it's certainly better than it was. And the body and hormones and metabolism do strange things. Some people can lose things fast and some people taper. I have a friend who is working diligently on this. I mean, diligently and has plateaued, but he looks better and feels better than he ever did. So sometimes we need to settle for better, not perfect. Yeah.
I agree. That's good advice. May I ask you one last question? Or else you'll be hating yourself in life, and that's not good. Yeah, I agree. Go ahead. Can I ask one more question? Do you have any advice on how to kind of start moving past that and, and embracing that this is going to spend a lot of time with how you look and how many pounds you have.
