This marks her sixth album as a bandleader, showcasing her signature approach of blending jazz with classical, global, and literary influences. On this project, Tessa reimagines the works of legendary composer Erik Satie, continuing her tradition of collaborating with both living and historical greats.
Born in London to Afro-Trinidadian and English parents, Tessa's deep musical roots were nurtured from childhood. Taught to sing by her mother at age three, she grew into a gifted musician with a passion for storytelling through song. In our conversation, we dive into her early influences, her creative evolution, and what this new album means in the context of her artistic journey.
