👉臭い（くさい）smelly, stinks, smell
１．この魚、臭い！腐ってるんじゃない？ This fish smells! Isn't it rotten?
２．今日ランチでにんにくたっぷりのパスタを食べたから息が臭い。 I had pasta with lots of garlic for lunch today, so I have a bad breath.
３．彼氏の足が臭い！ My boyfriend's feet smell!
👉匂い（におい）smell
Point: We usually use 匂い for a good smell and use 臭い for a bad smell!
４．おいしいコーヒーの匂い。 The smell of good coffee.
５．バラの花の匂い。 The good smell of rose flowers.
６．服にタバコの匂いがついている。 My clothes smell like cigarettes.
