Today’s topic is one very dear to us, Cultivating Confidence. This battle of perceived and real identities isn’t only something you and I may encounter but people we may think have it all together battle with this as well. I recently listened to a discussion with one of my fav artists, Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, she shares her experience of overcoming challenges, “personal anxieties” and how she grapples with imposter syndrome in that she has personal thoughts that people may come along and tell you that this new life or this peaceful life that you’ve created is a lie and we know who you really are and everything that you’ve built for yourself could get taken away!”
The British Social Attitudes Survey asked questions about Body Confidence. Some of the findings are worth noting that 37% of adult women and 26% of men are dissatisfied with their appearance; for women, this can remain an issue across all life stages.
So what that means is nearly half of adults think that how you look affects what you can achieve in life and around one-in-three believe that “your value as a person depends on how you look”.
In this Podcast we discuss this and share our thoughts on how we can cultivate confidence in our own little way. Hope you enjoy and look forward to hearing what you think. ****
