TikTok faces US ban amid legal battle. TikTok, a popular app with 170 million US users, may shut down in the US on Sunday due to a federal ban. So a federal ban is a ban from the federal government. The ban requires TikTok's Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell its US operations.
If ByteDance fails to comply, TikTok will no longer be available on AppSource, and U.S. companies must stop supporting the app.
So we know what the app store is doing. First, ByteDance has to sell the US version of the app store. If they don't follow the rules, then the app store will not be able to continue to sell the app store. Many people think it's unfair and why they can't sell the app store.
