Los Angeles saw three days of protests after federal agents arrested 118 immigrants in a series of arrests. Officers used tear gas and made arrests as protesters gathered near a detention center.
President Trump sent 2,000 National Guard troops, calling the protests a "riot." California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass pushed back, saying the move only made things worse. Newsom called it a violation of state rights and asked Trump to withdraw the troops.
