So many ace tunes from them. And that one has really kicked me into gear, into getting down to a live show for the family Battenberg.
They say that that track was written in just a day and is an anti-love song. They're going to be heading out on tour of the UK in November. If you want to find out where they're playing, just head to their Instagram to find out more. Hello, it is Emily Pilby and with you on Six Music. It is the BBC Introducing Mixtape. We're going to be hearing from some artists that we've played a lot on this show actually over the past year or so. Got new music from Prima Queen's Play For You from Love Cat as well. And I'm also going to introduce you to some brand new artists like this next one. It is a debut single from alt folk rock outfit Esther's Wife.

That is formal speedwear and wait, Hatchet gets a new hide. That is my track of the week from last week and I have not stopped listening to that since it came out. They've actually got a very limited run of cassettes available to pre-order of that single via Melodic Records. So limited that
By the time you're listening to this, whether you're listening back on BBC Sounds, it might all be gone. I believe there's a B-side to it as well, which is never going to be heard anywhere. The BBC Introducing Mixtape, Track of the Week. And my Track of the Week this week comes from an act that I've been hearing a lot about of late. They've been supported very heavily by their local introducing team, BBC Introducing in Oxford and Berkshire. And they also cite Anthony Fantano, aka The Needle Drop, Jacob Collier and Caroline Polacek as fans of this artist.
I'm talking to you about avant-pop artist and composer Maddie Ashman. This new track from them, it's called Toffee. I think it is just a magical track, totally enchanting and very experimental and brave, I think. I would file this one next to Fiona Apple.
And Maddie says this track Toffee is a track that talks all about what it's like to feel and experience emotions after years of suppressing them. The triumph of tears, the confusion of feeling ungrounded yet so alive. The reality of overcoming mental health challenges is not that it's linear. We take two steps forward and one step back.
I really like this from Maddie Ashman. I think you can definitely hear that kind of triumph running through this track as well. So let's get it on, shall we?
