BBC Radio. BBC Radio. BBC. BBC. Right now, it's the BBC Music introducing Mixtape with Emily Pilbeam. Fluffy dog, travel blog, jazz bar because you like it. New build house, boring spouse, bad hair because you like it. Shades of grey, dim suit because you like it. Saxophone, US or white shirt because you like it. Anything.

♪ Got it, ain't it, say I like it ♪ ♪ Hey man, just got it, say I like it ♪ ♪ Say hey, do you say I like it ♪ ♪ Booker jeans, two machines, small socks ♪ ♪ Because you like it ♪ ♪ Zippo tricks, cop magic, big books ♪ ♪ Because you like it ♪ ♪ E-skewder, commuter, Tesla ♪ ♪ Because you like it ♪ ♪ Quilts and walls, get cars that work ♪ ♪ Because you like it ♪

It's the latest tune from Adult DVD on the BBC Introducer mixtape. It's called Because I Like It, a killer track from the band, full of that Adult DVD charm and wit, I think.

Adult DVD, Because I Like It. It's Emily Pilbeam with you on six, and this is Goodnight Louisa. I've never walked a tightrope But I've fallen from the pavement Into dirty gutters And I told myself I would never get that drunk again I've never been to Vegas But I've lost all my money In some stupid mud And I fell apart

I don't care if it's plastic, I look like a monster of attraction. I was cruel every weekend. If the dust in my hair is plastic, cause soon I'll look like Jennifer L. I'm so tired of the ground. I'm stuck. Feel every chance.

It's the latest single from Goodnight Louisa on Six Music. That is called Jennifer Aniston.

Quickly becoming a standout act in the Introducing uploader, I think, Goodnight Louisa. Supported by Introducing in Scotland. And I'm really here for the lyrics in that tune. I think there's a lot of honesty and openness coming from female pop at the minute.

So on this track, Goodnight Louisa says that song comes from being sick of constantly searching for something that would fix everything and how life feels like one linear line of panic and urgency, a race to beat time before it beats us, which I think is probably something everyone can relate to. Some really gorgeous synths as well and some really cool sounds running through that, which reminded me a bit of self-esteem.

And also our current featured artist this month, Jessica Winter. She was on the show a couple of weeks ago as our featured artist, telling us all about her upcoming album. So you can listen back to that on BBC Sounds if you missed it. It is Emily Pilbeam with you on Six. It is the Introducing Mixtape. I'm here with your weekly dose of the best new music from across the UK.

I've been going through the BBC Introducing upload this week and handpicking some of my favourite tunes that have been sent over by some other Introducing local shows. That's how it works. So if you want to get your music played right here, or maybe you know someone that you think should be played on this show, get them to upload to us, bbc.co.uk forward slash Introducing.

And coming up in the next hour, I have got a brand new track of the week to play for you. And I'm going to revisit last week's breathtaking track of the week from Natalie Wild Goose. That is coming up after this latest one from VC Pines featuring Josie Mann on this. I think this track is called Made to Love is continuing on that similar vein from Goodnight Louisa in terms of its honesty. And I think this track is called Made to Love

So VC Pines says this track was born out of frustration at the condition of the creative industry in the UK and the way we are sold this dream in London when actually it's all just smoke and mirrors. And I think you can really feel the frustration in VC Pines' vocals on this. Really liking this. VC Pines featuring Josie Mann, Made To Love on Six Music.

I just lost it all. Wake up. Working off his coffee break quick. Young artists too tall. Full of hate but made to love. Obsessed.

As long as I could The sun came and set between my belly and my thigh My feet were used between worsted socks and wellington boots I haven't got a clue what's going on this time The rabbits chase each other

Well I'm not chasing much this time of year Is something you need funds just to move on? A good day, it forms as simply as a blue and honey and June

It's our track of the week from last week from Natalie Wild Goose. That is called I Lingered on Six Music. I don't think there's much I can say about that track that I didn't say last week, but I really do think that is an outstanding tune from Natalie. One hell of a songwriter and the crackling throughout the song really just captivates you, doesn't it? So that was our track of the week last week. So let's get on to this week's track of the week. Six Music.

The BBC Introducing Mixtape, Track of the Week. And this week's Track of the Week comes from a band that seems to be on everyone's lips right now. They've really, really built in a name for themselves. They're called Westside Cowboy, supported by Introducing in Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria as well. Their debut single, I've Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love Until Now, was...

A stomping introduction to the band. I think it was my track of the week, actually, potentially. Can't quite remember. But I think hearing that song, it was getting played so much on Six. Everyone was kind of buzzing about them. Everyone has been waiting on Tent Hooks to see what they release next. And this track, it's called Shells. It was premiered on Hugh's show, actually, the other week.

And it's not what I expected from the band, actually. It's a very calming tune to start off with. It's quite a long introduction, which I think in this day and age, with everyone's short attention spans, is quite a risk, really. But I think it's a risk that has paid off massively. I think they're really making a statement with who they are in this tune. And more excitingly, they are going to be playing our introducing stage at this year's Great Escape Festival, which is happening next Thursday.

This is my track of the week from Westside Cowboy. This is called Shells. This better be something great Clench your jaw till you're too thick If the building doesn't sway The concrete's gonna break You need to connect the dots And find out where I got this In that time I could have died And felt perfectly okay

I can see it. I can see it in your knuckles.

Your whites will fade and your grip will suffer. There are shells in the water. I've done enough in the air. Now sadness this time could not mean anything. So I'll just sleep with it done. Parts of me love every part you do. Structures struck up to the wind.

This is my track of the week this week from Westside Cowboy. That is called Shells. I'll play that for you again on the show next week and you'll be able to hear it on Hugh's show tomorrow as well. Make sure if you are off to the Great Escape in Brighton, you come along to our Six Music Introducing Showcase. We will be at the Paganini Ballroom on Thursday the 15th with Westside Cowboy, The Nun, Fuzzlight Year and Welly as well. It's going to be a really, really great night. So make sure you come down.

New music for you now from Scottish punks, Humour. It's a band I've been following for many, many years and they just keep getting better and better in my opinion. It's brand new from Humour on Six Music. It's called Plagiarist. I changed a word in to make the lyrics and pass them

It is the Oids on Six Music. That is called Cryptid BF. They are supported by me at BBC Introducing in Leeds and Sheffield. That is usually where you can find me every Thursday night. And I'm just really enjoying what I'm hearing from the Oids at the minute. It's like an ace bit of egg punk music, which, I mean, I don't really understand what egg punk is, but I like it. A lot of my friends in Leeds, a lot of trusted pals have been saying that these are the most exciting band coming out of Leeds at the moment.

So I'm mega keen to check them out live at some point. Fingers crossed that will be soon. It is Emily Pilby and with you on six is the Introducing Mixtape. And there was on Friday the 25th of April, I think it was, it felt like all of the albums were coming out. Self Esteem released her latest album, Viagra Boys, The Moonlandings, Emma Jean Thackeray, all albums worthy of your listening.

But make sure if you've been listening to all those records that came out on the 25th that you add in Prima Queen's debut album to that list too. It's a brilliant bit of polished indie pop that is really deserving of your attention. And this track is taken from that album. This is Prima Queen and Sunshine Song.

BBC Radio 6 Music. The BBC Music introducing Mixtape with Emily Pilbeam. MUSIC PLAYS

This isn't due, duh.

It's Elle Knight on Six Music with Do or Die.

Really liking that single from L. Night. L. Night is a multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Bristol. Their third album, Mantra, came out over the weekend, so I'm going to try and listen to that this week. The vocals on that are really quite soft, and I think the guitars reminded me a little bit of Warpaint in parts, which is obviously no bad thing. Please send us more L. Nights.

If you want to get your music to us, it's bbc.co.uk forward slash introducing. We're going to keep that dreamy, comforting sound going now with this next one from a band from Bath called Night Swimming, who I think have a real knack of making their music feel like everything is shimmering. They're going to be heading out on their first ever Headline UK tour this autumn. This is Night Swimming and In The Real World. Let it spin.

I swear to God, I've been into the box, screaming, praying.

There's no such thing as us to be. Only right here is where the truth will set you. This direction is a dream.

It is Polly from the Dirt. There's no such thing as England on the Introducing Mixtape on Six music. Polly from the Dirt is an artist from Darlington. I don't know much else about them because they've not put a great deal of information on the Introducing Uploader. All I know is I really like that tune. I think the simplicity and directness of that track is great and immediately raises some questions, I guess.

But yeah, please do tell us a little bit more about yourself on the Introducing uploader. It's quite helpful. Just go to bbc.co.uk forward slash introducing to get your music to us and to tell us all about yourself, please. I'm dead happy to be playing you this next one from a band called Fergie LH.

Had these as track of the week a few weeks back and they are back with another Garage Rock rager. The track is called Surf's Up. There's some kind of twinges of psych that comes through that I just think is really excellent. This is Fergie LH on Six Music and Surf's Up. Suddenly all the songs were about you And it needs a define my tone too I sighed inside too For what's up with her? We're together

What could you grab if not onto me? I've ties with code and you're floating free. Like a catcher in a rash to keep your innocence inside. Flying back.

Perfect your perfection. I'm a stick. Most precious love of mine. I'm always on your side. The string that runs between us. Well, this keyboard.

Taken from their album Dead Stars, that is Pit Pony and This Love of Mine. They have got a big show at the Clooney happening in Newcastle on Saturday, the 24th of May. If you are based in Newcastle, you absolutely need to get to that. Pit Pony are absolutely class. Got brand new music to play for you now on the show from Ugly. They are a six piece based in London, but supported by introducing in Essex and Cambridgeshire.

It is yet another solid track from this band who I just think are always consistent, to be honest. And I think this track, it feels quite emotional and I can't really put my finger on why it does, but it does feel like a bit of a coming-of-age tune, this one. This is Ugly and Next To Die. Leave the crowds to fall, go to close the crowds Stare down from the safety Face me when it's gave it all

It was something with feathers in the back And now it's your time to run Where, where did you come undone? You got it wrong, it's beyond your own Why, why, tell me Why did you come on too strong? You got it wrong, I'm talking about it It's beyond your own Time to time, reminds you of the cold

You'll see the endless tenderness and this mess over. You'll find the place to soar. That's love at heart. Where did you come undone? You got it wrong. The place beyond. Why, why don't you? Why did you come on too strong? You got it wrong.

Latest single from Decker on Six Music. That is called Familiar Beat. Decker is a Nottingham-based American singer-songwriter supported by Dean Jackson at Introducing in the East Midlands. My favourite thing about that tune is it just sounded like totally effortless in a way. It sounded like that track almost fell out of him a little bit. Really liked that.

Got one more tune to play for you on the Introducing mixtape this week. I will be back next week. Make sure you get uploading to us, bbc.co.uk forward slash introducing and listen back to anything you may have missed on BBC Sounds. Going to sign out on this one. It is an exquisite track from a DJ and producer from Leeds that goes by the name of Limp It.
