BBC Radio. BBC Radio. BBC. BBC. Right now, it's the BBC Music introducing Mixtape with Emily Pilbeam. Keep it moving like the bass lines.

We go. We go.

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. Hey, hey, uh-huh. Ain't no maybes, baby, changes lately, facing cravings. Hey, love you like the summer breeze. Come with me, what today? How can I lose if I got you? Gonna make a move, let's get away. My emotions plus devotion plus the coast of California. I'm remote, they call controllers. I indulge in all you're giving. Don't lose focus, she like culture. She got shoulders with no boulders. I got rocks for you, girl. She likes diamonds, she likes pearls. I got more for you, girl.

Exquisite sounds of Ruben James and Feel It Coming, working with J Prince on that. That's from his latest record, Big People Music. An outstanding way to start the BBC Introducing Mixtape this week. It is Emily Pilbeam with you. It is very good to be back.

This now, a new one from Sasha Asad, Baby I'm Gay. Baby I'm Gay.

It's the latest one from Nottingham-born and bred Sasha Assad on Six Music Introducing Mixtape. That is called Baby I'm Gay. I really like on the BBC Introducing notes that Sasha Assad put, I wouldn't be surprised if this song didn't make it on the radio. I don't know why.

But then says, at least it saves my parents the heart attack. Fair enough. Really great bass line in that tune. That's what really stuck out to me when I was listening to that in the uploader this week.

Hello, it is Emily Pilbeam with you on Six Music. It is very nice to be back on the radio after a couple of weeks off. Big thank you to Kerry Koch from Northampton and Three Counties Introducing Show and Phoebe IH from BBC Introducing in Scotland for covering me for the past two weeks. You can listen back to their brilliant shows on BBC Sounds now if you missed it.

But on the show this week, I have got lots of good new music to play for you from the BBC Introducing Uploader. That is how you get your music to me, bbc.co.uk forward slash introducing. And it was very nice when I was waiting for my severely delayed flight to sit down and just listen through to the Introducing Uploader. I missed quite a lot of good music. So I'm going to try and squeeze all of that in in the next hour.

Got a brand new track of the week to play for you as well.

And I'm going to play you a couple of acts that I'm really excited to be seeing on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival this weekend. The line-up is incredible, but I just thought I'd pick just a couple that I am very excited to see. But before all of that, I've got this to play for you from Port Nova. It is a debut play on Six Music for Port Nova, actually.

So they are a new electronic duo from Manchester. They are Matt Hindley and Ben Parsons. They say they've been experimenting with music and sound together since 2017, but the pandemic gave them the new momentum to dive deeper into production and have gone on to release a debut studio album called Fossa, which is out now if you want to check it out. And this track is taken from it. It's called Tollman. Tollman.

I think this will give you a real spring in your step today. Port Nova and Tolman on Six Music. I need, you give me what I need. Six Music. This is the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape with Emily Pilbeam. Oh, oh, oh.

Oh, my God.

It's the sound of Great Adams and Blessing Mugby. That was Kerry Kosh's Introducing Track of the Week on the Six Music Mixtape last week. Great Adams is another artist that Kerry Kosh supports on her Introducing in North Anson Three Counties show. Defo check out her show. She's got some really, really amazing artists that we've supported on the Introducing Mixtape on Six Music, like this next one. Six Music.

The BBC Introducing Mixtape Track of the Week. Yes, it is time for a brand new Track of the Week and it comes from a band that Kerry has been supporting on introducing, Northampton Three Counties. They are called Holy Bones and honestly, I think these are one of my favourite new acts at the moment. Whenever I see that they've uploaded a new tune to us in the Introducing Uploader, I get very excited because I just know that it's going to be really great.

So yeah, Holy Bones, they are an alternative electronic pop act. They are all anonymous as well. There's quite a lot of members of Holy Bones, but on the introducing uploader, they don't give us any names. And I've seen some of the, I've followed them on Instagram and you just can't see who they are at all. They wear all these bandages. Pretty cool, but I would like to know who they are.

This track that I'm about to play for you, our track of the week, What You Talk, it is their third single and just yet more proof that these need to be on your radar, I think. This one's got their cool laid-back electronic beats that they are becoming known for running right through the whole track. Some brilliant spoken word as well and I feel like they've got a bit of a punk edge in this one in the chorus. I really want to see this band live soon.

So my track of the week this week, Arnie introduced a mixtape on Six Music. This is Holy Bones and What You Talk. What did you just say? You had an old supervisor. You have a new supervisor. You play with your cartilage piercing. You're working on green concrete. I chew on a cuticle and pretend to know what that means. You didn't dang the waiter just then. You have a matching tattoo under your left. With your best friend.

I think of skin, you wear yours like it fits. I slip my fingers into my chilly armpits. Are we slow in this moment or acutely aware? Disconcision, Disconcision. What do you talk about when you talk about, when you talk about things that you've done, honey, things that you've done, honey? The heat is cooking my neck. You roll another cigarette. You have two big brothers and a new favorite color, green. I taste blood, so pick a new finger.

You cut a dignified figure, but it doesn't suit me. They're turning the lights on. Where the f*** is the night gone? I wanna go dancing, but your shoes are too clean. You're speaking faster, my heart's beating harder. Forgot your last name and I'm too scared to ask you. The man of your dreams, you can have him for free. Cause it's Thursday baby so you better believe that. There's no social. There's no social. Wow when you talk about things that you don't know how to tell them.

Talk about talk.

It's my track of the week this week from Holy Bones. That is called What You Talk. If you want to check out Holy Bones live, then they are going to be playing Pitchfork Music Festival in London on the 7th of November at the Roundhouse. I can't see any of the dates on their Instagram. Hopefully they'll do some more at some point. But yeah, that's their next upcoming show, I believe.

It is Emily Pilbeam with you on six. It is the Introducing Mixtape. And I've got a new one to play for you from Get Down Services now. This is taken from their forthcoming EP, Primordial Slot Machine, which is out now, actually.

I rate this from Get Down Services. It's a lot calmer and a lot more serene than their other stuff, I would say. They say actually on the track, this song is about a specific feeling I get when I realise my circumstances might have improved, but my mood hasn't really caught up.

It's about realising the ways in which we can be hardwired to seek out stress and misery without even realising it, which is very nice. A sincere meaning from Josh from the band. But then later on, I read that they say in the song they also have a reference to a scene from Don't Tell the Bride that they both really like.

where a bit where a bloke books a Las Vegas wedding and spends all the budget on the stag do. So the bride-to-be's family can't afford to come and the bride is absolutely fuming at him in the airport whilst he's nagging for a hug. That is the Get Down services I know and love. This is new from them, Get Down services and Chrysalis on Six Music. Songs about dogs and monkeys written sitting in the car Trying to summon the courage to get earnest but I can't

I can't even summon the interest. So instead I'll get to work on something else. Form a perfect chrysalis. Fill it with this. Form a perfect chrysalis. And then fill it with this. I think back to a time when anecdotes formed life before my very eyes. Like my boss in the store cupboard stood in his pants taking his clothes out of the chest freezer on a hot day. I'll be with you in a minute, Josh. No worries, Andrew. You take your time, mate. I'm happy.

Form a perfect chrysalis and then I fill it with this Form a perfect chrysalis and then I fill it with this There's a bloke in the airport with his girlfriend and she's crying her eyes out He's saying, can I have a hug? Can I have a hug? Can I have a hug? She's saying no, you can't Form a perfect chrysalis and then I fill it with this Form a perfect chrysalis

BBC Radio 6 Music. The BBC Music Introducing Mixtape with Emily Pilbeam. Soon burn the candle, you'll never be. I once held a dream, now all hearts. Spring pulled my daisy, but I stayed in the rain.

What once was mine has unfurled at the end of the world. The song that I shut down late with lice that I feel like a ship and here he is with a dying old fashioned girl at the end of the world. I used to

Now I sit and stop watching Dream. The pipe dreamers put it, put it, put it on. Now he rolls down the floor to the end of the world. To the end of the world.

It's a debut single from new act Bucktooth, supported by Introducing in York and Humberside. That is called Pull My Daisy. Bucktooth is a project of Amy Precious and Niall Tennyson. They are artists based in Hull that have been in a few projects before that I've admired from my previous years of working at Introducing in Humberside. And they're a bit of a mix of the two.

I recognised Niall's voice straight away, actually, when I was listening to that in the uploader. I thought that was really stunning and that their voices match each other perfectly. Delighted to be pressing play on this next one for you on the mixtape from the band Hotel Luxe.

It has been quite a while since we last had music from Hotel Lux. I had a little look and the last track they released was a Christmas tune, which was very good. If you want to check that out around about Christmas time. So this single is the first bit of new music from them since their debut album, Hands Across the Creek.

which came out in 2023. And I think with this one, there's a real sense of melancholy in it. It's vulnerable and it's honest from them. And I think it definitely feels like the start of a new chapter from the band. And I'm really excited to see where it takes them. This is Hotel Lux on Six Music and Another One Gone. Another one gone A boy's lost to the world

Caught in a shadow, dream door and the stair. Sleep me till morning, won't see you again. Wind blows on your slew, chilling those left behind. Is there blood on my hands? I don't know. Butterfly, would you feel safe in my hand? Another one gone, forsaken in glass. Talking comes slow and he's left on the line.

I really like that kind of dark alternative folk sound that's coming out at the minute. I find it quite inspiring and very all-consuming in a really, really good way. That is the title track of Rene Storms' EP, which is coming out on the 7th of July. That is It's Just Me, a song of defiance and empowerment from Rene Storms. It was a real pleasure to hang out with Rene at the Six Music Festival, played the Introducing Night alongside Jasmine Forti and Adult DVD. And yeah, really, really nice to hang out with Rene. And I think it's a really, really good song.

Speaking of live music, it is Glastonbury Festival this weekend, as I'm sure you're all aware. And we are going to be there. We have got a BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival once again. And I think the lineup for our Introducing Stage at Glastonbury is probably the best lineup of the whole festival. That's why I'm going to say that. I'm going to go on record and say that.

It's such a good lineup of acts playing. Got adult DVD, alt-black era, Beth McCarthy, Chalk, Divorce, Fiona Lee, Jacob Alon, Jasmine Forti, again, Lambrini Girls, Lem Freck, Mally Haff, Men And Toll. Loads of artists that we have been supporting on the Introducing mixtape over the past year or so. Plus, we've got DJ sets as well from BBC Introducing's Radio 1's Jess Isat.

Maya Beth and Phoebe IH, who was covering me a couple of weeks ago, is going to be DJing as well. Annie Mack and Nick Grimshaw are going to be there doing some stuff with Sidetracked. Radio 3 is going to be there. And there is actually a BBC Introducing Open Deck happening on Thursday, quarter to 6pm to 7pm. An open call for emerging DJs who are attending the festival to jump on the decks and play a set.

which is an amazing opportunity. And me and my good friend Nathan Shepard are going to be DJing there on the Friday night as well. If you're up at, I think it's half 12, come down and hang out with me and Nathan. It's going to be an amazing weekend. I'm so excited to see all of the artists playing on our stage. And we're going to be bringing you so much live music from the festival over the next couple of weeks.

So if you can't be there, you can be there in spirit by listening back to our show next week. But yeah, I thought to get myself in the mood and for you guys as well, if you are heading over to Glastonbury, I'll play you a couple of the acts that are going to be no doubt smashing it at the BBC Introducing Stage this weekend. So we're going to kick off with Lambrini girls who are going to be playing on the Friday at 6.30pm. This is Company Culture. Today, because all men know better than me, the glow.

I don't want to get with you on my lunch break.

I didn't call ahead. Lunch for seven people, seven.

I care about you already I wanna lift you up

I don't know. I care about the lift. I want to lift you up.

That is Divorce and Hangman. They are going to be headlining the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival on the Sunday. Make sure you catch them at 7.30pm. I'm really looking forward to the Sunday of Glastonbury. I mean, as I say, the whole line-up on the Introducing Stage is great, but the Sunday in particular is...

It's looking very tasty and I'm going to run straight after divorce all the way to the park stage to see the McAfee's straight afterwards. So it's a bit of an indie dream for me. Got a couple more tunes to play before the end of the show and I wanted to play this for you. I played this whilst I was in for Amy LeMay on Six Music a couple of weeks ago. It is a debut single from a brand new band from South Wales. They are called Mourn.

the latest band to be backed by Tastemaker, labels Speedy Wonderground. And hearing this first single, it's so easy to hear why Speedy Wonderground wanted to work with them. This is Mourn and Modern Man. They're all alone, but it's fine They go home, they call it out I wish I was asleep in my dreams And you're all there to see
