I really think you're going to like this episode today because it's about a Trump supporter who got screwed by Trump.
This guy's name is Rodney Grunmeier. He was all in for Trump. And on November 4th of 2024, he proudly posted on Facebook, let's take out the trash together. Now, this is alongside the meme of Trump in a garbage truck. Fast forward a few months and guess what? Grunmeier was taken out too.
Out of his job. Now he's asking for prayers after being laid off. Thanks to policies enacted by Trump, the very administration he voted for. But the best part, his own mother publicly called him out for it. Now, before we get into that.

So who is Rodney Grunmeier? He's just your average conservative voter who thought Trump and Musk were going to stick it to the woke leftist Marxists and not to him. He supported their crusade against so-called government waste right up until the moment he realized his paycheck was part of that waste. And on Facebook, he wrote, thanks Elon Musk. I am now out of work. You can practically hear it.
He laid out his tragic backstory. He had struggled to find stable work for years, bouncing between jobs that kept disappearing thanks to corporate buyouts. But in October 2024, he got a break. He finally landed a steady gig at the IRS. This is the agency that Trump and Musk had openly vowed to slash into oblivion with a chainsaw. Yet somehow Rodney didn't see it coming at all.
Then the hammer dropped. He and his fellow new hires were informed by the IRS director themselves that they're being fired due to a reduction in force initiative from the White House.
Basically, the administration he voted for decided he wasn't important. His job wasn't worth keeping. Now, Rodney explained that the time he couldn't be worse. He and his wife had just bought a house in 2023. And after losing a previous job, he had already been forced to file for mortgage forbearance.
Now he was staring down unemployment again, along with 70,000 other freshly discarded and fired federal workers, all suddenly competing for the same shrinking pool of jobs. But Rodney didn't want your sympathy. No, no. He wanted prayers. Pray for this guy. He made it clear. He said, I'm not looking for any compensation, any handouts, but I'm asking in return for prayers for me and the other unemployed federal workers who all have families that we're trying to support.
It gets even worse. His mom enters the chat. Gay old Grunmeier, who had zero patience for his nonsense. In a Facebook comment that deserves to be framed in a museum, she wrote,
I have an idea. Maybe you and your Republican family and friends who voted for the orange buffoon and President Musk can help you pay your house note, utilities, car note, car insurance, health insurance, food, and any other bills you have. So basically she said, you voted for this mask. Now go out and ask your MAGA buddies for a bailout. But she didn't stop.
She reminded him that Trump and Musk had surrounded themselves with very young people with no security clearance and had essentially handed them classified government documents to play with. She said some of our loved ones, which includes family and friends, now have a target on their backs.
But despite the roasting, she still supported him and had a motherly moment. She said, right this moment, I'm worried about you. I'm sure your mind is going 10 miles an hour and I wish I could give you a hug. Sweet, right? But until you realize it's basically her saying, bless your heart, you absolute fool.
Irony was too good. Rodney, who just months ago was calling Biden voters garbage, was now realizing that the actual garbage being thrown out was him and his job. But if you think this was a one-time fluke, think again. Another Trump voter, an ex-government employee, took to social media with an equally sad little tale. He wrote directly to Trump.
The guy was fired by the very policies he supported but still believed in.
You almost have to respect the sheer commitment to being played by this guy. But he didn't stop there. He said, I was encouraged by the doge to see that they were getting rid of waste government spending. I support that too. My termination letter said I was being let go for performance reasons. I know that's not true. Government waste was fine until he was declared waste. Now it's all a big misunderstanding. Surely Trump will step in to fix it, right? Get him his job back.
But Trump didn't do anything about it. He's not coming to save you. His whole plan was to gut the federal government. And this phenomenon that Trump supporters realizing that their dear leader's budget cuts apply to them is spreading. Over on the Our Conservatives subreddit, even some of the faithful are starting to ask questions. They still insist that they love Trump. Said, why the F are we firing National Park Service and Forest Service workers?
Good question. The combined budget for both agencies was about $10.5 billion, which is basically pocket change compared to the Defense Department's $695 billion. Daredevil is born again on Disney+. My name is Matthew Murdoch. I'm a lawyer. Exactly what kind of a lawyer are you?
Hey, really good one. Critics everywhere agree it's the best Marvel television series. Gritty, intense, and elevated. It's Daredevil at his best. If you step out of line, I will be there. Marvel Television's Daredevil, Born Again. Now streaming only on Disney+.
Cutting these jobs wasn't about saving money. It was just blind government destruction going forward. And one Trump supporter even admitted, Yes, you're very correct. Don't lay off people if they're going to support our parks.
You're so close to understanding. Now, just take one more step and realize who you elected and what they were going to do. And then these federal agencies that we all love and cherish, like the parks departments, are getting gutted. Economists have pointed out that firing tens of thousands of federal workers doesn't even save meaningful money. It just destabilizes communities, kills spending and forces more people onto unemployment.
But Musk and Trump don't care about that. They got to pose for the cameras and claim they were cutting waste. Never mind that the only thing getting cut was people's livelihoods, people's jobs. They're out of work. Their families are suffering now. And let's not forget the most poetic part of all this. Rodney Grunmeier, the man who cheered on Trump's so-called war on garbage, is now the garbage to Trump and Musk.
That's what Trump's policies have decided.
