Sometimes smart and successful women get compliments they hate, like:
đ¤âYou donât look like an Engineer.â
đĄâYouâre a strong woman.â
đâYou look like a cabin-crew.â
Â
You may hate a compliment that you donât relate to.
In those situations, you can do 2 things:
1.     Graciously accept the compliment.
2.     Express to others what you like and what you identity with more.
Â
And donât second guess what they mean with the compliment or their intention for sharing it, even if you think it is a disguised insult.
Â
Have you ever received a surprise gift that you didnât like?
How did you feel when you received the gift?
Do you feel angry or insulted? Probably not. You appreciated the effort and intention.
Â
đYou donât have to agree with the gift.
đYou donât have to like the gift.
đYou donât have to be the person associated with the gift.
Â
So donât deny, ignore, reject the compliment, even if you donât like it.
Â
Graciously accept the compliment as a gift with a smile and genuine thank you.
Â
That's the topic for this podcast episode.
