Welcome to primary technology to show about the tech news that matters. Another massive apple week where they announced the m for mac many, the M, I make a new macbook. Eighteen dot one came out with apple intelligence to the public at is here in the U. S. In eighteen dot two with the image playground.
Yes, I got a yes IT is horrifying because other news from netflix and in tindall earnings and more, this episode brought to you by notion audio hijack and data citizens dialogue and by you, the members who supporters directly, I want to be a host, Stephen Rogers, as enjoyed this always, is my coast. Dec, who guesses the movie? Quote, every week in this week. IT is, be afraid, be very afraid. Ah, we recording .
on .
halloween. So I tried. I chose a scary movie. Quote.
a scary movie, quoi. Recognize the quote. I feel like jeffe .
gold bloom is the star in this.
The fly there is that did IT for me, but I was gene Davis that said IT .
but yeah yeah jeff, jeff golden said IT for .
hate that you gave .
IT away very good, Jason. We have A A massive show this week. We just I think we just got to go.
We just got to run. We can be running the entire show. We're going to do that.
Plus we have a bunch of five star review shares. Thank you to all of you. Greeny twenty four from the U.
S. A, five stars, an apple podcast, grammy y story from the U. K. Spooky dot M O V, which I guess is a pokey dot movie, which is kind of funny. Like, I like that.
I have a change just because I was hallowing for the review also mentioned a bang case, which is like A I A I four case that has an another action button running shirts. Ts, anyway, have to check. So very cool, so fun from the U.
S. A dominant pocket. I'm just not saying the people who say they don't put their phone of the dominating CET anyway to do the math.
H everyone to do that.
do the math. Anyone I don't say. M, T, ninety two from the U.
S, A dominant pocket co coco from the U. S, A scot, one, three, four cargo pocket from the U. S.
A. There's a different then added a wrinkle to the what package put phone in J N. Vague from australia.
It's jeff from switzerland, lonely crow. This was this is their first apple podcast, which I mean take to recover all the tech. But I early understand, like we're in notes.
you're wearing a mac project.
So yes, damant pocket for the iphone and magnetic Andrew from the U. S. A. Thank you for those five star reviews. Give us five star review reading, review.
Any country or I, C, M, all in apple pod gas will give you shut up. And this is also is the third we can roll. Ask for developers who listen and watch the show, have an opening after store.
We love to, uh, plot here on the show. And so this one is from the virtual boy, is that his name on social media? U.
C. M is a wall paper APP. Not that world paper APP that one you think controversial? No, not that converse one. This is a different one called world gen. exactly. All its A I generated wallpapers, but you can generate them in the APP so you can kind of customize them and create new, new stuff. Newspapers, these look really cool.
The one they have on the at the landing page here is free to tribe IT is a small subscription if you want to actually make a bunch and dealt the high quality, but they look very cool and well, Jimmy, try a different wallpaper APP from someone listens to the show. Ah virtual boy, or that isn't IT was like one right after another bone, boom, boom. Apple said they were going to have all announcements all this week.
We got monday, tuesday, wednesday. We going to go day by day. We, anna, go in chron logical order, monday, eighteen. That one came out where the public, which included apple intelligence, did you talk about at length on this? A quick question.
Have did anyone in your family or friends circle like did they demand that one? Do they have apple intelligence? And did anyone have any thoughts about IT?
The only one who has thought about IT is my ten year old who only has an apple watch. And just every time you see snoop dog is just devastated that he's not going to have the glory ring around his watch like that's the one person. No, it's actually possible that there are my daughters and my wife have, uh, iphones.
They very well we have may have eighteen point one right now. No, no, because no, no one of them really care. Well, we get to we can talk about the eighteen point two beta as at some point, yes, they will be downloading the eighteen point two immediately because we did spend about two hours the other night just making demos and image playgrounds will talk about IT.
We're going to talk about image playgrounds because I finally got access yesterday. I assume because apple listens to this show and they want to me to have access, so we can record about IT.
nice.
terrifying and all terrifying, every, every image playground of me. But my kids were like, do me, do me. So you, anyway, back to that, just eating that, working about me. Also, we had a press release and announcement video for the m four imac. I voted that people on the fence, whether not the imac would get him for that, you are on the fence actually previously too.
No about whether that would happen. Yeah, yeah. I didn't think IT was the most likely. I all admit that. But that's why they did at first because, well, actually the reason they did at first is obvious because IT only gets the in for like and a sort .
of latter them yeah, he gets IT gets them for and quote, quote, new colors. So, I mean, there were some comparison images, a basic ACCA shared one or a loni h shared some. But anyway, new colors, different shades of the colors.
The Green one looks very nice someone, to be honest, and I was tempting to me, but I bought a different mac this week, which you will get the second yeah so and for I mac, if you run the market now, a good time because you're updated oh and U S, B, C peripherals, Jason, we know, we know. I A U S B C magic keyboard and A U S B C magic mouse and half the internet. K up in arms because the magic mass literally change nothing. I just swapped out the lighting port for U, S, B, C, where you open on days when you upset about no.
because who cares that? Listen, they're never gonna this in the reason why have to be nice, i'm getting a reputation is being not nice. But let me just say this.
you have to be affable, Jason.
Yeah, the point is they don't want you to charge your mouth while you're using IT. So we've made IT impossible to use the mouse while you're charging IT. They the point is this is a wireless mouse.
What they know what happened is people would just leave IT connected to a living cable connected to your mac. John y, i've does not want that to happen. And even though he's no longer at apple, his departure agreement made them commit to never putting that poor anywhere else.
Not this. How often does a person have to charge a magic us anyway? Twice year, three times a year? And most.
like IT is often. And you know, IT was funny because we can talk about the mac money next, but the mac mini power button moved from, like, the very back to the bottom. And people open arms about that never like out. You will see at the bottom of mouse power, able, on .
the bottom of my I .
photoshop. I never saw this.
And I was I did see that. I was just, I thought was amazing that they brought back .
the powerbook because there is no powers to good.
But I have a question about the m for mac imac. First before we got is not the time .
to say about that. I know so. But yeah anyway, that the only other IT has the enforce that was little faster. You get up thirty two IT comes with sixteen gigs of memory standard now, which actually been up across the pretty the whole line. But you're gona talk about a because sixteen gigs is now the base and IT does support a Better displays.
I'm to refer you to the text pex page for all of these computers if you want to see how, how many and what resolution displays. Is max now support with the m foregone for product? That is a wildly confusing thing. Yeah.
I want to know. I want to talk about those U. S, B, C. force. Just do you think that they had figured IT all out and decided to do this last year, but they're like cb at next year?
All we're going to do is at the m four in spice up the college as a tiny bit. So why don't we just save the USB versions of the purple erl so that IT seems people will be happier? Like this seems like such a no brainer. I can't figure out .
why IT takes so long.
IT took this long, you know? I mean, and it's so, I mean, they put U, S, B, C everywhere else. But if you bought two two days ago, if you bought another magic keyboard for your imac, IT was going to have a lighting import on. I wonder if it's like I honestly wonder like if somebody has like a trod board somewhere and they are like, here's possible features, not move that one to next year because we don't have I like I just don't understand this is possible.
Oh, so I will say i'd been waited for U. S, B, C. accessories. And I was like, okay, once IT comes, i'm about because I still use the magic mouse. I really like the magic mouse is my main mouse.
I prefer editing videos with IT even over the magic track pad, which is psychologist for a lot of people. And so I always thought as soon as those used be as accessories are launched, i'm anna jump on IT. I did not Jason, because I was like, one is one hundred dollars for a new magic mouse and i'm like this one IT works great and I charge IT every other .
month twice a year. I come on how often .
do have to maybe like four or five times a year. But even so, it's like it's less than once a month and that kind of all that matters. And a proto Matthew casali, he mentioned this before, but he basically sets a reminder like every friday afternoon to pluggin his things.
So over the weekend, they charged and then never thinks about IT. So because I have there have been times where I get the low battery warning on my mouth, I am about to do like a live where A. And that moment is stressful and so you know in that regard, like cheese, I wish I had a magic track, Peter, some other pointed device because, uh, don't want my battery to die while i'm streaming live here. But if you actually you know just charged regularly at at least once a month, and you should be good.
So also, if you charge for ninety seconds, you can get through a web and off for.
And that's typically what I do. And I like, I don't want to keep this lightning cable around anymore, but also have an iphone fourteen that I film with sometimes and I connect with lighting cables like, you know what, i'm to save hundred dollars and put that into an S S D upgrade for my mac money. But we're onna get to that.
Do you know those, Stephen? I am still using the best apple magic keyboard, and this thing .
still takes double battery.
No, it's to feel the good. Listen, i'm a writer. I write five thousand.
Or do we? I don't care about tog. I D, I don't care about whether I use why?
Why do people you going to buy something, why you're on your mac and you need to I know the double tap on the watch. I feel it's not as also .
there's a touch I D, but literally like right there, it's so close.
It's just right because you're use a macbook pro.
It's not a desk. Yes, as a Normal .
person does no, but I have a mac studio, so I didn't have the magic keyboard like there is no touch anyway. This is why, this is why people leave with five to reviews and say you're not afb. okay?
This what they mean is i'm just contrarian. I'm ordinary, your ordinary or very affable.
The other guy come a ordinary.
I'm affably ordinary, ordinary.
That's the imac, the nice upgrade if you're in the markets. D, I was close to, I was close to getting one because I was like, this would be a great family computer. The kids could like, you find a cut on IT.
But I was like, with its its day one a week of announcements, something more is coming and something more did. On tuesday, apple released this guy. He totally redesigned mac mini. I want to refer this page just if you're watching, so you could see this animation one more time, best animation for international that I think yet I think might be the top one. It's really, it's really good.
I was really the part flag is good.
I flag is good. And also the little like two or one half minute stop motion mac mini video, very good, very good. Yeah, there's no hydraulic present site.
It's great. Such a good add. Ah, but this thing is so tiny j and IT is a five inches square.
And if you are wondering, the apple T V is three pots, six inches square, so it's just a little bigger than an apple TV. The new mac mini is two inches tall, which is told in the F, T. V.
But this is so tiny and it's packed with ports. It's packed with power there. I I was going for a literary, I guess, but for context.
the size of this thing, A C D case is four points, seven, five inches. So it's roughly the full A C D case. Now I understand the most.
Our listeners don't even know what I just know. C, D, her life. Leave that in your five star review. How many cars do you still .
have in your home books?
And I think the over under is six. I'm guessing for most people.
this thing is very interesting because one you can get with the m four chip, which is cool, but also introduced the m4 pro。 You can get IT up to twelve core C P U, sixteen core GPS, so they can be a little powful machine if you want to do video editing in such. And it's got the ports.
Jason IT has two USB c on the front and a headphone jack, and then on the back, three thunderous ports thunder's. If you get the m four version number about five, if you go the four pro i'm talk about, the difference is there. I'm gonna try to in the second H D M.
I eternel power. And the power like adapt thing is still built in. So it's still just like that infinity barrel cable to charge this thing so cool.
And i'd love this thing. And it's still five ninety nine. Like, you can get this for five ninety nine, Jason.
you can get over four ninety nine with an education discount.
Mind blown, mind blown. So the the new magen is awesome is the display situation with the m4 pro。 Again, I want to refer you to the text next page because like the m four can not support three displays, two at six k and then one at five k or the m four pro support three displays at sixty, at sixty hearts, and then one displayed. Anyway, you should just look at this page on the link in the is just at this page.
but in this explains why the imac only supports two external displays, because the m fork and only support three displays, and one of them is built into the imac, right? So you can still connect two external displays, and I think they can be up to six k because the x the internal displays like four and a half k on a twenty four times mac, it's nine to five k because the studios like for that. So so yeah, it's very complicated. We don't actually know anything .
at apple.
I don't mean that we're wrong. I mean, we don't know .
that was absolutely right.
And I think we made that up, saying that the words, the words have lost all meaning.
To me, that is absolutely true. This is the mental box for the mac. Many, you can get IT up to eight terrorists and sixty four gigs of unified memory.
And IT started sixteen. So once again, this entire lineup started sixteen, which makes that base model separate activity, six S S D, really attractive. But is not, if you tried this, if you back out a mac mini, this, this is not so much money in Price.
If you know what I mean, i'm going to go all the way. Let's go with the do I get the m four pro here? No, as the m four triple and let me go back.
We're doing this live on the show. I got A M four pro and the m four pro is how you get up to, like, sixty four gigs of me. You need to have the most expensive chip.
I'm on a maxi thing out, a terrific storage, which is a twenty four hundred dollar upgrade. You can spend forty seven hundred U. S. Dollars on a back many if you really .
want to listen, eight terrible SSD up grade should come with a kiss. So like seriously.
so it's something .
it's twenty four hundred dollars just for that upgrade you can buy in a four terrible SSD for like four hundred and fifty dollars from crucial.
And I know I should at least come with a magic mouse with USB c you know I mean.
like that at least an S D card slot reader in the front of IT if you're going to do. I understand that .
actually is a good point. Actually we forgot about that. B, S, D card slot is removed, which was a part of the mac mini like the previous m two version. So no S D cards lot.
No reasons why i'm old non to my max studio and i'm hoping I put I posted this to this thread also did numbers I posted to picture my mac studio because I am one of those people. I use all the ports, you know, mean, I use every part of the buffalo o and I every point here and people were like, there's a thunderbolt. Listen, there's a thn.
There's two thunderbolt, I think, already plugging into this thing. Anyway, I connected to my studio display, my mini pro video switch, my broadcaster pro two. Then I have a thunderbird dock with three externalities.
These plugged into that. I have eaten IT. I have my stream deck, my stream deck pedal.
I have my keyboard from key crown. Collect by the U. S. B. No, not doing blue tooth because too much lencs.
And the H, D, M, I out is going to my black medicating mini as a video source. No, not using that phone jack, because my vocation or two does that. But anyway, I use IT all.
Did you just say your keyboard has would have two monthly and see .
with blue the key cron. The key cron is the magic keyboard doesn't the magic keyboard is like instant, but the key crown ones you like press key and it's like, I think about IT give me a minute. You know, it's like one of those, okay? Give me a little bit rabb neural face.
right?
Yeah, yeah. So the other thing I wanted to say, if you get the m four pro and we're going to talk about when we get to the network, rose the m four max, the thunder able ports turn into magically, magically convert to thunderous five. So these are the first max with thundery support is going to get you higher data. I want to put a link to this macro article in the shower notes, but you can IT supports up to A K minors or a thing about five, whether not the max support that is a mac O S thing under about five as a spec supports of A K matters after five hundred and forty hurts. I don't even know what you do with that, but anyway, the more band with is the bigger deal, which I think I didn't know the number on here.
but what is the number? So it's eighty gig a bit per second, but gig a bit for, well, it's the G B S lights per second .
because you o .
you when .
you say bits and it's bites .
and when it's so why am I no idea a eighty of them it's eighty of them in both directions data transfer. But then IT also can support up to one hundred and twenty, yes, for supporting those are those monitor configuration ation. So be hundred and you get eighty, and that is you get one hundred and twenty out of the computer and forty, which huge displays which would use for display .
is because you're sending more data to the display from your computer. Also more power through put. You can get up to two hundred and forty watts through thunderbird, as opposed to the hundred and forty, three hundred, about four. So not about five is real. I mean, it's a think I don't know what I would do with that, but it's it's cool you .
can run your pressure cooker off of your mac money. Well, yes, one day we missed the time or displays. Yes, on the imac, I just realized that we didn't talk about this, but you can now get the nano texture display on the imac.
That is true. So I was thinking about like like they're bringing that everywhere. He was on the studio display in the X, D, R. And then on the ipad and now on the imac. And we will talk about the maco prose in a minute. But like I feel like there like I don't know, like we don't think the mac many doesn't matter because you bring your exactly bring your own access. I think that was wasn't .
IT B Y O K mo K M D here now I did not get a nano texture ipad, and I still wonder if I regret that. I don't know. I Better not.
I ve ve been to the store and I looked at IT look at IT from the side and it's like apple store lighting is perfect anyways. So it's like there's no glares anywhere anyway. Did you do nano texture anything?
no. And I really did not want an anorexia display on my ipad, but then I put a paper like protector on IT.
He did the thing anyway.
Okay.
but at least now I could take IT off. Wanted jn gb was he want the iphone and I don't know that you can buy protei, I know, but no edge anyways. The four mac mini, I don't know.
Two other quick things. In the announcement video, there was a quick asset to final cut, an apple was like. And in the new version of final cut, you'll be able to transcribe for captions.
And it's like, wait a minute, what like this is not a thing that you can do in final cut right now. There's no transcribing anything. And so they show the screen shot of final cut is a project.
There is a tool like a little magic one tool which is not in the current version of final cut. Then there's a transcribe to captions and IT shows the captions of on this like vertical video. I reached out and got, we have nothing to announce at this time, so don't think, uh, there is no more information on this, but they seems like there will be a new personal final coming.
Maybe I mean, the all these max actually come out next friday. So if you order them and you got to fur like day one shipping, it's november. Next friday, maybe we will see a new version, al final cut come out alongside these new max.
A lot of time you see soft updated, but I am very curious about this train scribing, because if final like this would be huge for final cut, because premiere does this divine. I so many services transcribe your content, even if you edit by a text like river, and also premiere. But minor cuts been kind of behind on this. And so this hopefully means train scribing .
your content was, yes, okay, my understanding and time, i'm gonna this of what this is, is basically the instagram of captions feature right now. So and that's why but I don't think this is going have any editing .
implications. I think if it's transcribing for captions, it's transcribing your project. And ideally, I would like the reason why this is a big deal for me is when I export from final cut, I basically generate an M P three file that I thrown into transcription ist to get a transcript to run through ChatGPT.
And so this can cut down on that step. And let me export both the video file and a text transcript and S R, T transcript for a youtube captions. This would save a lot of people a lot of time.
So that's why i'm excited. yeah. And then maybe true. This was I I think again, my understanding is this is sort of in the context of they're using some machine learning flash AI slashed something, something to improve the ability to make vertical videos right, because they have like a smart conform feature, which we'll do a Better job of following the subject even Better than IT was like than IT wasn't the past.
And essentially what they want you to do is do all of that work in final cut to the extent that you can, and then you can share IT on to talk ground and still around whatever. So I feel like what you're saying is, yes, that would be wonderful. I think that this is more like downstream of all of that. I don't know that you will be the expert. These I could be wrong exit.
There was a throw away line in the video. These guys, they sneak in there, a very cold anounced video, by the way, where a jeff tennis he like unveiled the mac mini and then you fly through the port and uh right before we take a week you had an article you are showing off the mac money. We are most excited for .
the mac money after for this full week of yeah, I mean, my point was that the apple is just showing off. Now I acknowledge in my article that i've said that four times now the four mac c pros or I exceed me ipad pro, we're just going off the and one mac book air was just showing off like the point with the mac mini. The difference is they were able to do things and no other computer company can do.
They made this time. I mean also, by the way, this is not a mac mini. This is a max studio mini, right? Just look at right, it's a max studio mini that that design languages has nothing to do with the previous mac.
People are like go going to go talk. Yes, I got smaller than the max studio. This is the max studio mini is what the thing is, right? like. And so he has ports on the front. You need to on the .
I puts on the front. I feel like it's like the form factor differentiator. Here's a mac.
Many yeah, exactly. yeah. And so I feel like might just take away from this thing.
I have an used one. I have an even touched one at this point. I'm looking forward to presently reviewing them in the future.
But like IT, is apple doing things that I can only do because IT controls the entire stack? All of this is just made possible by apple silk. And IT turned out that apple is very good making its own chips like they just are like, we know this is true.
We know what the m four can do. I'm an m for ipad proa. Here you have one is what like we there's no surprises in terms of this, and this will just be Better.
why? Because he has a fan, right? But if you think about the m four, they can put IT in an ipad. IT doesn't need much space. That old footage of the mac mini was just like ridiculous.
How much m space within there in two thousand and eleven, that form factor had an optical drive in IT? That is right. There was a super driving that I didn't take around for very long, but the first one had a super drive. So I just I think it's I think it's impressive. I think it's apple doing the things that I can do like this is the this is sort of like the logical form factor for this computer, and i'm glad they ve got there.
And this this was the one thing I bought this week. The the maco pro tempted me. I checked my trading value and I thought this is really not worth at my and three pro so good like I don't know why so, but I got to make money because I have a mac menu right now is an I seven and intel j and I also want to to speak when I said that an intel, I and IT runs my downy translator workload home bridge.
Stuff like that is the computer that I remote in two. Sometimes I feel like a way, and I want to replace that. And so going from an intelligent to the same for mac mini, and I want to connect IT to, like the magnet lives in my entertainment center.
And so i'm just gna connected to my receiver by H. D. M. I also because i'm like, maybe I don't know, you see, like what does a downloaded movie look like when I play IT through the mac mini? Because I believe can do all the doby atmos and everything, I want to try that. And also, as a family computer, if I hooked up to the T, V, I haven't excuse to buy U, S, B, C. preferable. But also, I can then tell my kids, like, if you want to use a mac because you want to do final cut, you want to do logic on a faster computer than your ipad in country living room, and just pick the key watermelons, and you get this m for mac mini on the M T V. So yeah, i'm excited .
for I I think it's interesting the number of people who are very excited for the mac mini and are but i'm like this is this match mini is is a reasonable upgrade for a lot of things like it's especially now that they come with sixteen gigs of memory.
I just deal O I. We have a more announcements to get to, but I want to thank our first sponsor audio. Hi jack.
Listen, when you get that new m for mac, imac, mac mini and mac co, whatever this, this should be one of the first apps you downed in this, all because on your hydrate is the best way to record audio on your mac omi application from U. S, B. Mix or audio interfaces, everything.
And they just updated audio hijack with a new feature. I don't know it's on this landing page er, but I got an email if you do iphone mirrors to your mac, all your highjack can now recall the audio from iphone mirrors wind that's the power of audio hoji is not using audio hoji right now to record the audio of this podcast. And I use that all the time.
Every time I record a video, audio hijack is recording the audio in the background. I love IT because it's easy to use. You put the blocks, whether it's inputs, outputs, recording the files to M P three wave record to multiple formats.
At the same time, you can record A M P three and a wave. Just add more blocks, and only hijack can handle all. And I love I audio.
Hijack lives in the menu bar. You can run any of your custom sessions at any point. That's what I did rap before we started recording.
Then you can actually get levels in the menu bar. I'm looking in my mac menu bar right now and actually see the levels of my microphone in the menu bar. I can always look up and make sure I know i'm good.
It's being recorded, getting signal. And again, it's just super powerful for recording live stream recording from apps, whether it's safari or any APP on your mac, you can just capture all of IT. So here's what you do.
You go to mac audio dot com slash primary tech or you just go to mac audio 点 com。 The important thing is use the coupon code tech X X. You get twenty percent of audio hijack or any of their buntings, which I use loop.
Also, pizzas are grades. Simple recording tool. If you just wanted hit one button to record all of, there's twenty percent off with the coupon code tech X X.
It'll let them know you heard about to hear on primary technology mac audio dot com slash primary tech the link is in the showed tes take excess for twenty percent of. Thanks to audio hy jack and rogan miba response ing this episode so good, that's crazy. You can record the audio from your iphone mirror. Are you still using that? Still using iphone.
mary? yeah. Although the the most common use case where I use IT is a notification and quit on IT thinking that was an iphone notification, which is actually the way you should work right in the all of the thing pops open and you get to see the little letters filling up or whatever that I pops open.
And i'm like I should just pick my phone, but IT is nice that I don't have you like. I can just look at IT because a lot of times like my phone is either being used like IT is now as a camera or sitting over their charging or whatever saw yeah I do. I I use that. I like, I don't do something with the fancy things you can do. I saw a demo of a cap cut where you can just drag video files from your desktop on your mac into IT and an expert and back over like that's pretty .
cool and cool and it's cool. Alright, then on wednesday of this week, we ve got the final mac announcement for the week, which was the new m4, N M4 pro, N M four max, macbook pro, actually three models of macbook pro. Now all of IT to the m4, not only do you get that more powerful chips, still comes in two colorful options silvern space black. That said, all you can get space black on the base model m four microprobe.
You really want they got to a space gray.
right? Space gray, space black. And if you look really closely, if you're watching on youtube, youtube black comes like at primary text show, you know that all paper on the macbook pro, you know, that spells out, Jason, you don't to buy this because already have any three pro. That's what IT actually spells out to me.
M pro. IT .
actually spells pro supposed, yes, I was I as the metro. Here's the mental box from the announcement so you can get up to a turbo S D of two, one hundred and twenty eight gigs of unified memory, which is wild if you get the m four pro or m four max aversion, you can get thundery h with those ports. Turn to thundery.
Also the base model macbook proof. The regular m four now has a third funeral port, which used to only have two. So you get next report. And there's a unch of like tankle specks about the chips and all the kind of stuff.
How to refer you to the accident take podcast if you really want to nerd out, but chips and all that kind of stuff and ano texture display you cannot get on a macbook pro. Matt is back. Matt is back. They didn't use the tag line, but I think they should have.
Math is back. I'm god they did not.
But that is back. M, A, T, T, anyway. Uh, also, the texts page, if you want to know, like what displays these things support IT is, you know, IT is a lot, not just, you know, you can just look at that for a second.
That's all the things you ve got to display. Poor two point one with about five H D M I out can support up to eight k resolution at sixty or four k two forty IT. It's puts a lot of display. Ts, lot of this place.
And I check my trade in value, my m3 pro, macbook pro, and I was gonna like nine hundred thousand dollars what? And so if I were to upgrade, like to an equivalent m four pro, IT would as I would have to like pay like seventeen hundred dollars and also like for what benefit? I don't use external l displays of my macro pro.
I don't like the videos that I added. I wouldn't experience any different in speed. So I just want I want everybody know I am safe from upgrading unnecessarily my macbook road Marks, but it's cool.
So I think the macbook prose are they seem uninteresting because they like the same, right? With the exception of the base model, which now gets the extra order boat port, which is a big deal, to be honest, like you get if you're using a mac olic, the mac book pro is essentially the max studio that you can put into a back back and take with you. And you saw the back of of Stephens max studio.
It's just full of cord and stuff, right? So give people all the ports they wanted to. The thing about that base, level, base model, you know, IT IT, in my mind, that feels like why would anybody buy the m for network pro? But then you realized, like you get thirty six gigs of memory with that thing like you, it's like not a bad deal to um you know to what ones you like start to speak them up.
You can like get a bit you like there is a good computer and I think that the m four pro and m for max, which we haven't seen in person yet because right, the only one we've seen, the m foreign and an ipad. So we don't really understand the performance of these things. I I think that the m four pro and m form max are going to be a more significant increase in performance over the m three versions than the m three was over the m two. I think this is like the get comparing .
things to like the m two and even the m one in the announcement videos like yeah I was the comparisons but I mean, you can this is the base model m for macbook pro. I mean, for eighteen hundred dollars you can get the sixteen gigs of memory, a terribly S S D. Are you going to name for chip all in the macbook pro body style, which means you get that H D M I port, you get all the thunder able ports. S D card slot for eighteen hundred book is a good deal.
And like the display, I mean, that display, don't don't underestimate that display, that that HDR display, like they made a brighter right, is capable of being brighter when it's not an HDR mode to the s dr. Mois brighter, which if you are someone who works outside yeah with a macbook pro occasionally, like the fact that you can get the ano texture and the thing just gets brighter honestly, you talked about the middle one there. The base one right starts like fourteen sixteen hundred dollars even with a five hundred. And like if you are debating between upgrading your macbook air in buying the base model m four macbook pro and you don't travel a tongue so you aren't worried about the difference in the way, honest, that base model is like that's a pretty good deal.
is a great yeah is a great deal. And like you are saying, a thousand needs of brightness on these newer models, standard def content like not H D R H as compared to six hundred minutes on the previous model. So that's a big difference in the max business. Plus these can add dimmed to one nt low light situations. Whether previous was two needs, I don't know how much difference that isn't real.
but .
fair, half a nit or half a half of brighter one is supposed to do that. So yeah, that was the world win of apple announcements this week. Pretty solid. Jason, why do you think they separated this into three different? Because they actually did videos for each thing.
And if you put all the video times together, you have about an hour event, which like last year scary fast event, like I think last year scary fast vent was actually like thirty something minutes. Like IT wasn't even an hour, like they could have done one big event even if he was just a streaming thing. why? And they had people, at least influencers, some go out to L A to see these computers in person.
Like I saw, uh, Andrew Edwards, I just seen the verge was there. Like they actually went in person and got to take pictures of all this stuff. Why do you think they did three instead of one?
Just change IT up. Well, I mean, there's two two things I have thoughts on there. One, IT does seem as though apple is just trying different things, right? The iphone event in ww gc are the only ones that are like we know exactly what's going to happen every year.
They are going to do this developer conference. Here's the format. They're going invite people to Steve jobs theatre for the iphone of that. Everything else that seems like they're just sort of experimenting, right? The the m for ipad was just like they did a thing.
And I think london in in new york city where they invited people to do, but they invited people to a very small space to just watch the video, like the same thing you going to watched yourself, it's like so I think they are to just trying some different things. And this is another iteration of that because you're right, this could have just bend a mac event. But why wouldn't you want three days of coverage done something if you? why? What do you want one day of cover if you can get three days out of IT? right? Because people are talking about this, and they latter red up.
So they talk about the m four pro. Then they talked about the excess me, the m four, and then the m four and the m and in the four max, this sort of building on IT, which is the reason I found, like in many should be last because it's the most exiting one, is the best you can talk about, right? I think that they just were like, why wouldn't we want three days of press conference that was just.
if only they took over the week because even I was like scream buying like, yes, I were a tech show, not strictly apple and so how just like trying to find like what else happened this week, but IT was all apple like all week, pretty much everyone, I mean or something we can talk about and a little bit but yeah, I mean, they got three days of covered the earnings call is today as we record on thursday. I am not you know I don't know, but they probably made a lot of money.
That's usually the earth report or maybe they didn't and they were just trying to make us all look, look at these pretty max. I don't think .
that's charge of next week. They calls like late .
the afternoon and the money made .
a lot of money. The other update, which was very quiet, but I found significant, and you write an entire article .
about this of the whole thing. One thing.
the macbook air, which I I threw a wild card in my predictions. I was like this, I would make sense. I thought to throw them four in the macbook also like and four I M four mac mini.
You're updating the macbook process. Why not just throw the m four in the macbook here? I'm curious veterum on APP, but they announced that the macbook air. The m two or the m three, I believe you actually starts with sixteen gigs of unified memory doubles. That likely, I think what is not an apple intelligence thing because I thought the m two and employ, no.
it's a hundred percent and apple told anything. Here's the reason. So apple devices require eight gigs of memory to running apple intelligence. So if you're running apple intelligence, we don't we say they require eight gigs.
I we don't know how big that model is, but he has to load the whole model into memory in order to run IT, which means if you're device ally has eight gigs, it's all being used for apple intelligence, which means the performance of that device overall is going to seem like it's gone down if you only have a gigs of memory. So they've opted to sixteen because you're going na be basically shelving off part of that when you're using apple intelligence for that purpose. So you still going to want to have other you like if you're using writing.
I mean, I don't think writing tools is that intensive of a thing, but you don't want your computer to feel like it's slowing down just because you're using apple intelligence. So I think this is one hundred percent because of that in the reason that i'm really confident saying that is they updated a two year old laptop that they're still selling as the entry level nine ninety nine device that you can just buy if you don't want to spend twelve hundred box on the new version, the current version and they didn't change the Price. They just doubled the memory honestly that m two macbook air thirteen inch with sixteen gigs of memory in two hundred and fifty six gigs. Orage is the best mac deal you can buy right now. It's actually the best mac deal I think you've ever .
been able to buy. IT is a crazy good deal. The two fifty six, you know, if you're now, I will say previously, if if you're gonna get a base model computer, you're like I can upgrade. One thing is always difficult to say, the upgrade, the memory, the okay, the S S D. Now you actually don't have to make that choice.
So is you getting the base model and you have just a little more to upgrade something? Now you can jump to that five twelve gig about S S D, which I think makes you more a long term computer, like I feel you can use that for years and be good. And you get the sixteen gigs standard of memory, which is wild is great deal.
But even if you don't update the storage, no eyes, cloud storage is a real thing. Drop boxes a real thing. You can store a lot of things in if you're thinking of as a parent, if i'm looking at buying something for a kid, well, actually i'm going to go to walmart by the six, forty nine and one mk.
At this point, i'm not kidding. Like that's not ever buy. That's still an amazing a deal. If they would have updated that to sixteen, like they would have sold amount they wouldn't able to make them fast enough that would have been such a quality of. But seriously, for six hundred forty nine anyway, I think though by doubling the memory in the m two macbook air like it's the best value, even with only two hundred and fifty six gigs, a story I think that that's adequate for that device, right? I just I think IT is.
So if you get the base model nine and ninety nine, which is eight, nine, nine with an education discount, that wild think memory two to six, if you wanted upgrade to five twelve IT is a two hundred dollar, not a hundred dollar up. So IT does bring IT up to twelve one, which is a significant difference, you know, especially if you're looking at education, this kind of of things, but not good. Sixteen example memories. Yeah that's sweet. That's wait, can you get a mac now with only eight K I don't think so.
just the m one macbook are.
Would you can still buy from directly from apple? Every mac is sixteen .
now all the new max or .
sixteen everything, all, all the current exactly. Because madia c start odio zoom in to my face and I didn't know what was happening. I know what was happening. So speaking of, uh, what you can use that rain for, we can have talk about image playgrounds because, listen, I have access IT is orrible ying. Uh, what what I have discovered image playgrounds can do, I want to show some of the results.
But what what you think is terrifying is what he thinks of you.
just to be glad. And also, like i've said, pictures of my wife, my kids, my parents. I sent them all through there and .
let me tell you they .
got the best picture I showed the second night is my friend from and and my good friend from movies on the side as well. But uh, anyway, what do you think? Two more sponsors this week, which is amazing, is our first three sponsor episode.
Thank you, by the way, listening and watching because that means people actually want to advertise on our show, which is awesome. But our next sponsor is notion A I. Another thing we use every week, i'm literally looking at a notion document as we record because that's what Jason and I used to collaborate to do all the shown notes.
And notion is perfect for that. We put a note there. We put the links you can do, attach all the kids of things.
Notion is super powerful to him. You can do images, P, D, F, or save P D F like this sponsor break. Put the P D F right in the notion document, and then I can just click IT and access that there. Notion is incredibly powerful. And with notion A I IT is even more powerful.
The new notion A I is the single A I tool that does IT all you can search across notion and other apps, generate docks in your own style, analyze P, D, F and images, and little check with you about everything. You can organize all your tasks, all your projects, and use notion A I, which has knowledges from GPT four. And claude and I can change with you about any of those topics.
You can also just select text in a notion document and ask you to summarize, ask you to rewrite, and even prompt notion to generate things like, if you want, you give me five bullet points based on this topic or this text, all the kind of stuff. Notion A, I can do IT this. You actually had something you want to try, right? With the notion AI and transcripts and stuff.
What cause? Yeah, I mean, I just typed in something that we didn't talk about this that could be very impressive. But I do this occasionally because I use notion for also all of my articles that I write. I keep database of that, but also we because we have everything in there.
I going to ask you, like when is the first time we talked about tim cook? And it'll look through all of our shown notes and it'll be like an episode seventeen, whatever, whatever you talked about this and here's the what you guys talk about. Like I find that really useful.
I do that for articles all the time. I like, when did I write about this and what did I say? And because if you put all your transcript here, it'll just LLM are very good at this.
You give them a source of information to ask some questions, and they don't holus me. It's really nice. It's really ah it's great.
IT is great. And so you should definitely notion try notion for free when you go to notion dot com slash primary technology. Great notion dot com slash primary technology links also on the shown to click here to try the powerful, easy to use notion A I today.
And when you use our link, you're supporting the show, it's notion dot com slash primary technology. I think the notion for sponsoring this episode, and also this is really cool, another podcast sponsoring our podcast, which is awesome data citizens dialogue podd cast. So listen, as a listener of primary technology, you are probably interested in like data and how data works in data companies, data security and privacy.
Well, that's a great reason to check out the data citizens dialogues show. It's forward thinking, brought you by the folks over at calibre, a leader in data intelligence. You will hear first hand from industry tightens, innovators and executives from some of the world's largest companies as they dive in to the hottest st.
Topics in data will get insights to everything from population stable, such as AI governance and data sharing, down to more nuances, questions like how do we ensure data readability at a global scale? I actually listen to the episode right here, the power of common data language. IT was super interesting.
He was with special guest nica, and they talked about data science and how that works, like in accompany the things about security and privacy risks and how handling data within large scale companies, how that works. IT was fascinating. Just has, uh, a british accent.
So that was just kind of fun to listen to, I think i'll be honest. Sorry, you should totally check out the show. And while data may be shaping our world, data citizens dialogue is shaping the conversation so you can follow the data citizens dialogues on apple, spotify, youtube or whatever.
You get your podcast, and i'll put a link to that show in our show notes so you just click over and watch or listen to IT there. So are thanks to data citizens dialogue also response ing. This episode very exciting.
It's exciting stuff, our damage playgrounds days. And they finally hit yesterday. You got the day before me and you are sending me je mogi and I I just didn't I don't want to see any of IT just making me mad.
Didn't have access to so I got the notification. I kept go image playground throughout the last week just to see like, you know, maybe it's there. They didn't notify me, but there wasn't there.
But yesterday got the notification. I went to IT, and I immediately try to start generating things, images of me. And i've just have to say that this is what genoc and image playgrounds thinks I look like.
And IT is hard, fine. And I like, I get IT. I get IT, but also why? So you could do this like animal kind of three render, like pixar style, and you could do like drawn style.
And i've I found out that really does not want to generate like full body images of people, because I tried really hard because you can prompt IT. They have like suggestions where image playgrounds, you can say, like here's a picture of a person. I have suggestions like here's a theme like beach sunset fancy.
Then you can also add things like firework, so whatever. And but you can type in prompts as well. And just and I tried so many prompts because I I wanted a generated damage of me riding a polar bear, me on a polar bear.
And IT refuses to do IT IT really just wants to do like the head shot or like the shoulders up. You will not show a full body image no matter what. H so I put the polar bear on my shoulders to very small polar bear. Pretty cute.
But it's polar bear writing you and you writing polar bear.
He took the writing problem ah, but I also then went on to generate lots of images. I hope okay that I show your image on here. A nates actually, uh, looks some of the one like one of the best.
I mean, that is exactly what he looks like.
Basic IT is very close to what he looks like, whether I generate my entire family. It's, oh, I didn't ask IT because I was trying to see if I would do political images. And so I asked IT, uh, Donald mp holding a corn dog, but IT only pulls the picture that you have. So I guess this is what I would look like in a suit holding on.
This is what you would look like as Donald d.
Trump holding a court. I guess now you can like saving image like of a person to your photo library, and then give that image playgrounds and will generate an image so you can do that. Uh, but I didn't want use IT very much because your phone gets scorching hot using him like the .
hottest you've ever. I mean, this is hotter than if you leave IT sitting on the toll at the beach with the screen now is so hot.
Like if you ever like when you are first update to like what something that indexes is your tyre phone, like when you first get a iphone and you like transfer your stuff and it's indexing all your stuff harder than that, like think even harder. IT is so IT blaze is blazing hot. And I was like, I generated like two things and I was like, you know what? I'm done really much play granser a while.
But yeah, I was I did like seven or eight of them in a row. And IT was inside.
I mean, it's it's interesting. I think I will on one hand, IT feels a bit late because there was like thousands of A I profile image generators for years like I did that like two years ago, where you can like upload forty pictures of yourself and those pictures look Better. I think honestly, like I actually can look more like you than these image playgrounds versions.
So it's like, you know, you play around with a couple times that gets fine. The gem mogi said, you said what? You send me, you send me A A chip on fire and then he also said me.
you are asking me if you should buy A M D stock and so I sent U, A computer processor on fire.
You send me this giraffe to the thugs down. I don't even understand. And then you sent me voc ado but small smiling .
avocado yeah, listen, I use your face with this prompt and it's like, what weird thing could I create? It's not already because there's a .
lot of how I generate polar bear got riding a polar bear.
I think that that's what a ChatGPT thinks. You look like riding a polar bear.
You know, I was thinking, can because the ChatGPT and aggregation now without intelligence, can you ask the voice system to generate an image .
who I haven't tried that my .
guess is no an image of a middle man riding a polar bear. I just as I just shows me pictures of polar bears yeah.
I know apple is playing this super conservative. Yes, they do not want this thing to go off the rails at all.
right?
And so yeah, yeah, I didn't said you.
So gene mogi is kind of wear to get to IT in the messages APP. It's like there's image playground as one of the apps like where you would send later whatever you can open image playground, generate one of those images and come back. But if you want to send jen ji, it's like in the yeah yeah.
you just start typing what you want. And if that doesn't exist, it'll just give you the option to make IT.
So i'm going to try I really want something writing a polar bear. So I am going to try and say a snake riding a polar bear and oh, okay, this is actually hard, fine, that's a generated a snake riding a polar bear. But it's also like .
a mouse headed snake.
is like a mouse heated snake, right? I don't even know to think about this. This will all be the chapter, our work.
Oh, here's here's a Normal snake writing a polar bear. So you can have things writing things in je M O J. I just not.
just not image playgrounds. yeah. And if you want to know why the iphone is not carbon neutral, this right here is why, because Stephen has used eighty two percent of his battery, which you would know if battery percentage on ue.
my phones are to get hot. Just generate a couple in start to get warm. I can feel IT. So anyway, that was no G I. You know, I was going to do a video about IT once I got access to and not like, you know, I think just posting.
I think that polar bear has libery you. Either that is a polar bear shaped pretzel .
that sult I don't know you coom on these genes is kind of annoying.
But and I know but so if you're looking at on your mac, though, the window is bigger inside.
I can just see them like the detail.
I'm just saying let's see in detail there is a title .
for you if are those kindles would okay anyway that I mean, your family seem to enjoy IT you yeah, I think it's it's .
one of those things that I think people will have a lot of fun with in the will be times like I imagine that Younger people who communicate mostly in mog anyway will love this because they can just send whatever they want and as a pair t like I I guess I create that IT sticks pretty close to the rails and IT won't be super offensive or whatever.
So I I D be Christmas and other wishes this year five on sixteenth because, you know, like my kids, they have the base model ipad from like a year two ago and my oldest son has an iphone thirteen like nobody has apple, intel, gent origin magic right now. And so I am expecting to maybe here something on the list that is capable of energy. We will see.
yes. So apple earnings later today, a lot of all the other companies have their earnings. My alphago cohoes to just read the front page of technical, how much money do people make?
Listen, they'll making a lot of money, right? The everybody is having a good quarter in the reis of the microsoft, google, actually alphabet in meta, all reported earnings basically in last week. All were making a lot of money.
And the reason is the same people are using their platforms because of A I right? Like that's the bottom. I mean, it's a little bit more nuance than that.
But everybody of money, google searches making money, like all these companies just print money anyway. So this is not going to be a very nuanced, uh, conversation about IT because we can spend a lot of time talking about IT. I be more interested in what apple earnings look like today.
We can talk about that next week. But the bottom line is they're all making a lot of money and they're making more money like significantly like microsoft was up sixteen percent over the last quarter. Over the same quarter last year, like my matter was a almost twenty percent.
They're all doing fine. There are you're all in just fine well.
And actually IT is IT is worth mentioning that they're making a lot of money while they're also spending more money than ever because they're all buying in video GPS, right?
Like all that money is, did I tell you about story? I even removed this from my notes because I was like, maybe don't talk about this. I saw that OpenAI signed a deal. Or what happened with A M D. Then A M D might be making chips open a ye.
So basically all of these companies cannot get enough ah GPU right? And so a open a eye is going to start using AMD chips. It's also trying to start making its own.
It's working with broken time to do that. So like they would be manufactured um like there they've also t sm c which is the company that makes all of apple so kind. They actually make the gypt for basically everyone is ever intel.
Actually, they make some of intel chips, not to uh, their opening eyes is essentially saying we need more people just gave us six point five billion dollars, do you want some? And they're just walking around looking for people who will sell them more GPU because that is the limiting factor. Electricity in GPU are the a limiting factor to A I taking over the world.
Like that's the end game here. That's all. This basically works. And so really that's like in video has owned that market, which is why they're like basically the second most valuable company in the world at this point, right? They are you because of all I mean, I would not be surprised at some point if a jenson wang, who's the CEO becomes like the richest person in the world, like because of invidious that there are a three point three trillion dollar company and it's entirely based just done people can get .
enough GPS so well. So also I saw that open the eye plans to release its next model before years end. Did you see that?
Um well, they they they've been talking about about IT and they it's hard to know like exactly that. I think that you're talking about all ryan.
Um yeah, they've said that they well, I don't know that they actually said that publicly, but IT has been reported that they planned to do that by december, right? And the the difference is that IT won't unlike its previous models, IT will not be necessarily released with ChatGPT, right? And so there this is a model that would be either i'm I mean again, i'm not an uh large language model expert, but IT would be available like A A P I for like enterprise customers so will see you will be interesting like this is a model that other people will use to build product on as opposed to like GPT for uh which is j GPT. Yes, okay, interesting.
Well, i'll always keep you updated on the end of the world right here. Primary.
even when we don't know what IT means.
but we will talk about IT.
We know if I basically what is that? No book LLM, but we just have a lot more personality. We just say words about things.
We know things that should we? We know, we know. Yes, I want to ask you about this article. We wrote about the the netlik moments. I don't watch networks enough to know what this was or to even see the feature, but IT looked cool. So what what is networks moments?
yeah. So basically, you can now uh, and I don't know this is available on all that flicks content or if it's only certain content because I actually had a hard time finding IT when I up to the APP, I was not able to find an example or let me do this. But there are two things that you can do.
One, you can if you're watching a movie and you're like, I love this scene, I want to be either you watch IT or so you can tap the moments. And this is basically like bookMarks for a uh a spot in the video. This is like what you can do with podcasts in podcasts, right where you can like clip A V A clip of IT so you can save them and you can go back and when we watch them, but you can also share those clipsed now those moments on social media.
So there's a share feature that what you like send them directly, like instagram, for example. And then there will be a link that someone will be able to open in their own netflix out. And and if you think about that is cool because it's like this is how network shows spread is they go very well because people love them and they are just making IT easier for people to do the thing they want to do anyway. And my mind like, yeah, that's the smart idea and business just make IT easy for people to do the thing that they want to do that's .
also beneficial to you hundred percent. And like I wish more in the licensing, copyright, whatever. But no, if you can have the agreements and with netflix's original content, IT can decide on a zone, I imagine whether not to just do at this.
I think about, I mean, if a apple T. V had this kind of feature, I would share the ted leo dark scene from the first season so many times. And honestly, what I do now is typically find the clip on youtube and share that link because is easier. And I know everybody can watch IT, but if you could have just easy sharing of a scene like that and share to your social media with a link to them directly watchful episode, be great. I think apple should hundred percent do this.
at least their content yeah IT must be only certain content because i'm just like tapping through things and and I can't like save moments of anything. Maybe it's just make you have to like watch IT for a while. I don't know.
We'll just leave will leave lost going for while we're what's in the pilot of lost right now. So so I didn't even know i'm netflix. I might I can't see my description.
I am going to be to watch loss first. We only signed up for netflix s because we wanted to watch the sim BIOS documented because we have a gym st. And so we resigned up for and apparently having cancer .
because you say we have a gym st is like we bought a gym nest we have at its downstairs.
You mean, want to know what one .
of them is a genus.
one of my and she's actually a retired gym est, but my point is simples as her hero. So we wanted to watch the the documentary that they were doing.
If you start watching lost episodes, is that of friends at night. And then you tell me you have time to watch an episode of whatever is I told you to watch last week. I might .
just binge watched, lost, because i'm flying a portugo in a couple of weeks and just .
watched on the plane. interesting. I binged the ted last season, three on my last long flight from a television. Anyway.
I actually need to sleep on that flight. So I pression, watch anything but watch.
watch. A nintendo released a music APP. And I just want to change this because I thought was that that was prety cool.
Actually does not started listening to IT. If you have an intendo online account, an intendo switch online member, you can listen to all this like nintendo music. It's just in the background.
Is this just the video game music?
Basically, this is the video game music. But if you play intendo games like legend sala, like it's really good music and it's really great background music, it's an intendo music APP, I thought .
that was .
fascine. yeah. iphone. All right. I was debating what to do for our personal tech, and I don't know whether to talk about how I breaks my ipad. Pro H.
I think you should. And you talk about that, we talk about the thing, the onus.
the onus OK yeah OK what do? What do that? alright. So here's the personal take segment of the show. Listen, I don't like messing with beta as much as i'm on beta now.
It's only because I have to make video content this stuff and I don't have a back up fifteen per max. I don't keep my my fifteen prom X I traded to back in. So I was trying very hard to get image playgrounds the day released because I wanted to put that in my video.
And so I, you know, downloaded the eighteen database on my main iphone, which is risk in that. I got that waiting list. And then I saw some people on social media being like, I got riding on my mac.
If you update microcode fifteen point two ba. We like I got that on my ipad but not my iphone knows like right? I'm going upgrade everything.
And so I did all the thing except mac out, not willing because in such a mission critical device, I don't like putting the beta on my mac. So I didn't. But I put eighteen that two on my phone, and I put eight that two on my ipad mini and my m four ipad pro.
I put out everywhere and I still doesn't get access. And I was like, alright. And then I was getting this error, which is, this is what happening to beat is my own doing.
But I was getting, every time I would turn on my ipad will get this error said, display is not from manufacturer. This displays. I was like.
listen, where did you buy this?
You were a really rock part .
of tempo when you bought .
that at the back of a truck. And I like, no, this is that. This is the building ipad.
Anyway, that so I was hard to see in that air. I was like, i'm not getting a damage playgrounds. I backed my ipad.
I before I put the bed on IT, i'm like i'm a downgrade. I listen, i've done great before everyone social meddles, I had down grading risk. Listen, i've done creating my max.
I've done great. My iphone, I done. I've done great lesson not is not my first day. okay? I've done, i've done great things.
so I did not. The first thing he's ever break is what he's trying to say.
I think this is the first thing i've ever break. Oh, I think that's that's why I took me by surprise. So I went adowa aded, the eighteen, that old, that one file directly from apple developer portal.
So I got, like the i'm a flash, the thing, I tached my ipad to my mac. I see IT come up in the finder. I hold the option key I take, I click restore.
So then you can choose the file which to restore to. I choose the eighteen or that one. And after a few seconds as installing OS on ipad as a great and the ipad goes, boom.
Recovery mode. Okay, maybe just doing this thing and now stuck in recovery about I could not do anything to get this thing out of recovery mode. I tried flashing the seventeen, that whatever.
I tried putting the eighteen that two ba file through the the finder thing. Try all of that. Try D F U mode, which is the most the crazies like hookers pokers button combination device.
F year is what .
that would like. D F you notice, like not only D F to have the right button, my combination, but the timing has to be perfect. That has to be it's like volume up, volume down, sleep button, and then maybe hold the sleep button in volume down, or maybe let IT go and then press sleep and volume down at the same time.
Hold up from three times and spit. yeah. And you got a eye of new to the dragon's tone nail.
You gotta let go to sleep, but and hold the volume down for ten seconds, and then you'll be in D F U mode. But D F U mode, the screen is blank, so you won't really know. Like, well, okay, I tried that a bunch of times.
Never got to go to dea. A few mode, just stuck on the recovery score, they will listen is my own doing. I'd to deal IT i'm going to go I pad many all the way one more time and got a lot of threats people because I posted on threats about people call me like march and a language.
thanks. And one couple people say, try try the I my phone APP it's later eye my F O N E F i'm not linking IT i'm not going show on screen because I wouldn't actually recommend using IT because the video is, what is the shade is looking like? If you remember, the spme ad used to see our websites all the time. This is that button. APP.
yeah. This is the, your mac is invested with a virus. Click here. But on an APP that you actually willingly download.
I wm, my phone, even the name is like, it's a previous name. You could I don't even up, I don't let this APP bunch of up sales trying to give me up, create whatever, but it's set on the website. Get out of recovery mode with the one click for free.
So okay, you said I can do IT. I pledged my ipad to the mac with am I phone APP running as a little button that says exit recovery mode. I click IT and IT just worked.
I just got out of recovery remote instantly and I don't know. I immediately want to play my ipad immediately deleted the I iphone APP. I used hazel to sweep my entire market, download any file, might be social with IT, and I might a .
recovery mode. I do love that. If you google I my phone, the people also ask questions, are, is, is safe to install? I, my phone is, I am my phone of chinese company.
Does I my, my phone really work? How do I get rid of I iphone? These are the things that people want to know when they google this APP. The first day APP or piece of .
often are that, I would say, unequivocally, ked and fixed my problem and one hundred percent not recommend. I don't don't know anything else I can say that about IT.
unlike your ipad. And also all of your information is for sale on the dark web.
The I was really trusting in hazle at that point to just deleted off my computer as fast as possible. I, I don't I have not seen any remnant of IT. I've not.
Did you arg up your computer while you were doing this? So I went disconnected or from the internet?
Should I should done that? air? P heard of. Yeah, yes.
IT means like a computer that's not connected to any network so that you can't remote into IT or hacked or anything like that. But if you were gonna do something like this, I would a hundred percent unlike that internet cable, disabled wifi, blue tooth, everything.
Well, anyway, if if I suddenly disappear a midweek and there's no more opposed to show, you know what I, my phone and I should have done that. But anyway, I mean, I deleted this passes. I could, i'm hoping nothing I sent to wherever. But you know, I think mac, the mac now is so anal about security and permissions. Like if you just want to change the brightness on your display, it's like, are you sure you want to do that?
You want to allow that secure and take your password.
change the volume and do your password. It's like I you have to think again for so much. I'm like I guess i'll just trust macos, the annuity. What is the .
the animal? I don't know. That's definitely .
not the world, the analyses of .
the over protectiveness.
the overprotective emas I felt I just trust IT and we'll see what happens. And and there are no permissions like this. Apple like to access your local network in this.
Apple like to access your full disk test. IT didn't say any of that, so I think i'm good. But anyway, I don't break my aking.
Speaking of break devices, I saw it's not quite as I didn't put any data on IT. I don't even know what i've done with IT now, but I am trying to figure out if anybody out there knows how to get a two thousand and twelve macbook air. I'm having the same problem. Only my problem is there's no free APP you can just download to get IT out of recovery mode because you can't make can make a restore version of the the O S to install in IT without a device that can run that OS.
And it's like, this is weird cut off between lion and I think mountain lion, where you can download the dm g file of the old like lion because but the problem is, if you do that, unlike a apple silicon mac, and you open, what you have to do is like on packaged the installer and then take that installer and use that to create a disk mage. But IT will not let you unpack the installer because I can't run on that mac. And anything newer than that has to be downloaded ed from the mac APP store, right? And they will not download them under your computer if you can't run that Operating system.
And all of the Operating systems that would run on my macbook air or my macbook pro will definitely not run on this old macbook air. Now my daughter has an intel macbook air, and I had started to forgotten about this. So I think what I have to do is download like mountain lions and hers before the mac realizes, why are you going back to a six year old, the Operating system.
and get IT to do IT. If you go to the APP store and then purchases, usually that is where you will let you download the Operating system if you did actually dead load from the mac APP store back then.
But I actually just but I will tell you this Operating system .
will not run. I D, I remember I have a box in my area with some computer cables, and there might be A U S, B flash drive with lying .
on IT with iphone mac. I found my phone mac out as .
if I can find that. But also, I realized my mom still has a two thousand eight to macbook pro IT was I would actually just used IT at house last week a two .
thousand and eight map.
two thousand and eight the battery is so swollen the track head is now like elevated above the chessy .
put that thing in a bag of sand right now IT works .
because I this is another personal text. Tory, i've trying to update the software on our toyota rab four. That's not where I thought this was going.
I just I couldn't get IT to do IT, but anyway, i'm going to bring my crew drive there, going to take the battery out before explodes. But also I might be able to create a boot drive on that. So I try to me, let me ask our intelligence. Remind me to make Jason a boot disk tonight at six P. M.
This will .
make decision. A book desk that's apple intelligence for .
your apple intel. Gent is about to turn me into a book desk.
Okay, I want to try that. But yeah, the battery is so swaran like you can still use the track pad because I tap to click on, but you IT doesn't depress because the batter is just like you .
should not push hard on to that at all or you're going to have lithium just leaking everywhere.
I'm going to take that out tonight, I guess was put in the garbage. But like what do you do with IT?
Put in the bag stand and take IT to your fire department. That's how you are. Dispose of those. No, no, no, you think i'm getting to do. I guarantee you if you if you look at your like website babar's.
if A O in your backyard and there does that work.
sure, the same thing. But I told you the story of how my son disassembled a lithium battery up in his bedroom from, I don't remember one of his little robotic, well, I swear, we talked about this from one of his little robotic toor. Something like he just assembled the whole thing, and IT smelled like this weird solving smell up there.
When I buy everyone out, I got a bag full sand, I put the pieces in there. And it's been sitting out our backpedal for six months. Actually, I think my wife finally took care of that.
But like, I like you guys are, and then I like google. Poison control is just going to kill the children. But apparently that what the smell we smell was not the bad smell IT was just a solves or whatever. There are other smells that would be bad, but because the battery was basically dead, you know, and that was a pretty small battery. But I will say the inside of a battery, not what you think IT is, it's just a very weird.
So what is IT? IT was like this long IT looked like this long tape ish, not tape, but like IT was like the consistency of like one of those, one of these things like an alcohol swell, right? But I was like because it's like wrapped up on the inside there, but I expected that to just be like full of, I don't know, lithium part.
I don't know what I thought was going to be in the inside there, but that's not what I thought I was. I was like, listen, sun, there are only two rules in this house. We don't hate girls and we don't disassemble with the embattled. That's IT. Okay.
that's a good, good rules. No, I would have to google with nothing Better when we start according anyway, right? So we going to record to go upon us episode, I think.
