Hey guys, it's Sean Delaney and welcome back to What Got You There. I'm here to tell you about something new I've been creating. Now, over the past few years on this podcast, I've had the privilege of sitting down with nearly 400 extraordinary people. We're talking about world-class performers, CEOs, professional athletes, thinkers, artists. And during those conversations, it was about the exploration into how they build extraordinary lives, how they created meaningful work, and how do they face and overcome the challenges that shaped them.
But during those conversations, something started to stir in me. There was another layer I wanted to explore with you. One that doesn't always come through in a long interview. One that's more personal, more reflective. One that goes deeper. That's what this new series is about. It's called Beneath the Surface. Now this is a new kind of series, with just you and me. Not interviews, not tactics, not another chase for peak performance.
This series is a space where I bring you the ideas I'm sitting with most, the ones I can't let go of, the ones I return to again and again in my own life. These are the ones that show up constantly in conversations with high performers, creatives, leaders, and people who are on the path, not just to do more, but to feel more alive while doing it.
Because the truth is, the deeper I go into my work and in my life, the more I realize what most of us are craving isn't another strategy. It's not another productivity tool. It's not even success, at least not in the way we've been taught to define it. What we're really craving is presence, purpose, connection, meaning, joy, the feeling of full freaking aliveness. And we don't get there by adding more noise. We get there by going beneath it.
But beneath the surface is a place to slow down, to think differently, to remember what matters, to reconnect with the part of you that the world rarely speaks to, but that you know is there. Now, each episode, I'll share one idea, but not just any idea, one that hits you a few layers below the intellect, the kind that might not give you answers, but opens something inside you, the kind that lingers.
We're going to talk about big topics like what it means to perform at your highest level without losing yourself, why your goals and identities can become cages, why chasing success can actually take you further from joy, how to not only create a better morning routine, but to actually listen to the rhythm of your life. We're going to talk about the big questions that help unlock you and how to navigate the unknown and why the version of you that feels most alive is the one waiting underneath all the pressure to be someone else.
So if you're looking for a space that speaks to the part of you that wants to go deeper, if you're curious, thoughtful, ambitious, but also tired of being pulled in a thousand directions, if you want to live and lead from a place that feels more true, more grounded, and more free, then you're in the right place. Welcome to Beneath the Surface.
And if you want to go deeper into these ideas or connect directly with me, you can head to whatgoyouthere.com. That's where you'll find my books, executive coaching work, and more of what I'm creating. I'm excited for you to tune into this first episode.
