Attorneys for the administration:

Here's your Midday Brief for Monday, June 30th. I'm Alex Osola for The Wall Street Journal. We're exclusively reporting that the Trump administration informed Harvard University that its investigation found that the university had violated federal civil rights law over its treatment of Jewish and Israeli students, putting the federal funding of the nation's oldest university further at risk. In a letter sent to Harvard President Alan Garber today and viewed by The Wall Street Journal,

Attorneys for the administration said the investigation found that Harvard knew Jewish and Israeli students felt threatened on its campus and acted with deliberate indifference. Harvard didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Senate Republicans charged forward today with a marathon session to pass President Trump's big, beautiful bill as the party races to get the legislation to the president's desk by their self-imposed July 4th deadline. One of their first moves, a 53 to 47 party line procedural vote that declared Republicans extensions of expiring tax cuts have no effect on the federal budget.

The unprecedented maneuver is a crucial part of the GOP plan to squeeze permanent tax cuts through Congress on a simple majority vote in the coming days.

And Robinhood Markets, the brokerage upstart that drew in millions of traders during the COVID-era meme stock frenzy, is making a significant push into crypto. It's launching a wave of new services designed to make its app a central hub for digital assets. The brokerage will follow other crypto exchanges in announcing plans to offer tokenized stocks, which would make it easier for foreign customers to access U.S. stocks and ETFs.

Robinhood is also introducing crypto staking for Ethereum and Solana in the U.S. We'll have more coverage of the day's news on the WSJ's What's News podcast. You can add it to your playlist on your smart speaker or listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
