Hi, psychic listeners. Our guest for this episode of A Psychic Story is a multi-award winning international author, as well as a psychic medium and hypnotist. This is the story of Melanie Barnum. Welcome to A Psychic Story, Melanie.

Hi, thanks so much for having me today. I'm looking forward to this. Well, this has been a long time coming because as a fellow psychic, I am super curious to learn more about some of the psychic symbols and things that you have, and signs rather. But first, what was your first spiritual, psychic, or supernatural experience? So, you know, it

It's interesting because I had things happen when I was a kid, but they aren't the things that stood out to me at all. What actually stood out to me was kind of my opening or my awakening when I was standing in my dining room and all of a sudden it felt like I was hit over the head and I heard the words, you have to do this work now.

And it's like literally hit over the head or I kind of liken it to, you know, the cricket bat, which is very interesting. I've never played cricket in my entire life. I felt like I was hit over the head and I heard the words, you need to do this work now. And I kind of I'm getting goosebumps just talking about it, which is, again, validation for me all the time. And when that happened, I pretty much looked around and said, huh?

But I knew exactly what they were talking about. And by they, my guides, my loved ones on the other side, I just I knew instantly what they meant.

And how old were you around? Yeah, I was an adult. This is about three decades ago. I'm aging myself here. So I was probably about 27. Okay. Okay. Yeah. And so then what was the immediate thing that you did after that? Did you make immediate changes or was it a gradual thing? So what's interesting is I had just had a baby and I was freaking out about going back to work. I was the controller of a company.

So I looked at my husband after it happened and I said, okay, we need to make some changes now. And he said, okay, I'm down with it. Let's just do it. So I quit my job there. I actually opened up a children's store out of nowhere. And while I opened up the children's store, I began studying and I started taking classes about intuition and about psychic abilities. And I studied with people that are famous, people that you've heard of, people that you may never hear of ever.

And I realized that not only did I really love doing this, but I had an affinity for it. So I knew being, you know, both right and left brained, I knew that I had to kind of

get the knowledge before I could hang a sign up that said psychic. So I pretty much did it. I started right away. So when you started your store and you did that and then you decided to take those classes, how long did it take you? When did you decide to become a practitioner full time? What did that look like for you? So I kind of started to...

Like you said, take classes. I took classes with everybody you could possibly imagine because it felt like I had to have some knowledge in my background. I had to figure out kind of how everything worked in order to believe that it was real. So...

Once I started doing that and realizing how much I actually loved it and that I kind of was excelling at it, it didn't take me long to begin to practice. But I did practice first by offering free sessions. And I did that for a couple of years on that, you know, antique computer with the dial-up modem and the whole bit. And I did it for a couple of years.

offering the free sessions. And somebody finally said, actually, one of the people that I was taking classes with finally said, what are you waiting for? And I

You know, my response was pretty much like if I'm not good enough, if I can't give them what they need to hear, what they want to hear, then I can't charge them. Like I have to keep practicing. And she was like, you've been practicing for two years and you're a natural psychic and you need to start. And so essentially that's when I said, OK, it's time. And I started doing that on the side.

I still wasn't committed full time. And a couple of years after that, I committed full time and I started doing my work full time. So I do, you know, psychic readings, mediumship, which I pretty much do all together. I don't just say, OK, I'm going to do a mediumship reading for you or I'm going to do a psychic reading for you. I do it all together. I just whatever comes through, comes through and it comes through from your guides or your loved ones. My guides, my loved ones comes from the universe. And I just let you know what that is.

And I'm also a healer. I, you know, I do hypnosis. I am a reflexologist. I'm a Reiki master. Like I had to do all that. I had to figure it all out. You know, coordinate remote viewer, you

I had to figure it all out to make sure that I knew what I was doing. And, you know, it took me steps to pretty much start my practice because I needed to have all those things behind me to understand how it worked. Yeah. And that discovery is important for people. You know, my guides and angels often show me, Nicole, when you went to college, the reason why you were an undergraduate at first and I went to a liberal arts school was so that I could pick and choose and figure out what it was that I wanted to do but learn.

So I think that's important for people to hear that if you're curious about not only your abilities and what direction to take, there is a path and it's okay if you want to try some things out and what that looks like. Okay. So this is something I haven't actually, it shocked me when you suggested I ask this question because I was like, I don't think I've talked about this in depth on the podcast before. And that is why go to a psychic?

So there's a bunch of different reasons to go to a psychic, but I feel that the biggest reason to go to a psychic, besides trying to get the lottery numbers, which I'm going to tell you right now, doesn't usually happen. I did have one time where I gave the client a bunch of numbers that were correct. But anyway, so the real reason to go to a psychic is because it opens you up. It opens up your own intuition. It opens up the ability for you to tap into the energy of the universe. And I've always said that

The more you're with other like-minded people or people that can do other things, the more you'll be able to open up with them. So when I say other things, I'm talking about psychic ability, intuitive awareness. And going to a psychic can help you to answer questions that sometimes you can't answer for yourself because when you try and tune in, if you try and tune in, it feels like your imagination and it doesn't feel real.

So going to a psychic can give you validation. It can help you on your path. It can help you to discover your best possible path forward and discover what would happen if you don't follow that path and, you know, all the pitfalls that can come along with it. And going to a psychic also, like I said, it opens you up to your own abilities. It opens you up to the ability to

kind of dive down into your own gifts so that you can start discovering things on your own and for yourself. And how would that like maybe manifest for someone if they're a client or they're sitting in a reading? Is it that they feel their intuition? Does something resonate with them? How would that show up?

Well, both of those things that you just said, they can feel their intuition. They can feel their I get goosebumps when it's validation. Right. And goosebumps are validation for me that what I'm saying is true and accurate or that spirit is present. I also get tingles on top of my head because the energy of that.

The information that's coming or the deceased loved ones that are coming through makes me really itchy. I always have to explain to everybody there's no bugs coming through. By that mere act of me explaining the goosebumps, and I have goosebumps right now, so again, validation. By me getting and explaining what those goosebumps are or what the tingles are shows the client that, oh my gosh, I just got goosebumps too. And that

you know, opens them up to the possibility and the ability to recognize when something is true and accurate or when spirit might be present because they've just experienced it with me. And they were able to, you know, whether it's a Zoom call from somebody in Italy to me here in, you know, United States, Connecticut, or whether they're right across the desk from me, it doesn't matter. They can experience the same things that I can experience

because they understand what it means now or they understand where it's coming from. And another reason that people should see psychics is

Because it's fun. Like, you know, I don't know anybody that's ever gone to a psychic. That was a good psychic, by the way. But I don't know anybody that's ever gone to a psychic that came out saying, oh, my God, she I had the worst time unless the psychic was not, you know, good, unless they were just, you know, fake psychics, which there are. But it's fun. It really it gives you hope. It makes you open up to your own abilities, but also to your own life.

And it helps to give you direction. And yeah, so I think everybody should go see a psychic at least once a year. Yeah. When I was younger, I went to a bunch of psychics. My family was all into it, even though we also were psychics. It was just fun, like you said. But I found that it could operate or act as a chicken or egg situation or even planting a seed. So what I tended to use is...

If something didn't resonate with me, sometimes later it would happen where years later that actual prediction or that thing happened. Or it could also be where there were situations where I was like, I don't like that answer. I'm going to make some changes to course correct or do whatever. And I had a mentor at one point say after I think I've shared this story before in the podcast where she said, yeah, Nicole, you reached a certain point.

peak within your career and don't expect more money coming in, yada, yada, yada. And I said, I don't accept that. And so then the next year I got a huge increase and a bonus and things. So I say that because also when you go to someone, in addition to opening yourself up and maybe also being able to experience some of your own intuition and psychic abilities and what resonates with you, it's also about

take what you want, but also know that you're fully empowered through free will and choice to make changes based on what you receive. Exactly. And that's why I tell people, you know, I have a whole spiel when I start to do a reading because people kind of want to know how I work because everybody does work a little differently. And part of that is take what I say with a grain of salt. If you hear something that you don't like,

You can make changes. That's why you're here. That's why I'm giving you the information. Because spirit, whether it's your deceased loved ones, whether it's your guides, the universe, I call all of the big guys up there, the big women, I call them, it's all the universe. It's the energy for me. So they're telling us things. They're trying to share things that we can share with our client.

to better themselves. So if you don't like what you're hearing, 100%, it's your opportunity now to change what you're doing and to make those changes and to make those adjustments. And if you hadn't

gone to that psychic, you may not have made those changes or those adjustments because you may have thought, oh, this is the only way I can go. This is my trajectory and I can't change it. Or I think that this is the best trajectory and I'm not going to change it. But then when you hear from somebody else that they're seeing or that they're feeling something else for you in the future, it's a perfect opportunity to look at what's happening in your life. And, or

earlier you said when we weren't recording, by the way, we had a fun little text now for everyone, is that you look at the best possible outcome for someone too, which I think is fantastic because that shows you possibility. That gives you hope. That's also the fun aspect of things too. And you know, 100%, when I tell somebody, oh, I

you know, you can get this new job and it can take you to the next level, to where you want to be. And they say, okay, and they walk out and they never apply for the job. You know, they have choice. They have freedom to choose what they want to hear or what they want to listen to or pay attention and what they don't want to listen to or pay attention to. And the ability to make the changes, the ability to listen, right?

really helps us. And it helps me too. You know, I appreciate as a psychic, I appreciate those aha moments as well. You know, those things that I never could know about the person, whether it's their career, their life, their family, whatever it is, you know, it's opening me up every single time I do a reading for somebody. It's the same as going to a psychic. It opens me up when I get those connections, when I feel like, you know, this is really helping them. And, you

You know, one of the things in my whole spiel, like I was saying, is that I tell people, look, if there's something that you don't resonate with, let me know. And I'll try and tune in and ask spirit, you know, what what am I supposed to tell them? Because I get things symbolically a lot. So I'll either see things or I'll hear things. And I tell them, you know, I I'm getting this information.

this about you. And if it doesn't resonate, tell me and I can try and tune in again and give it to you in a different way. But if it still doesn't resonate with you, then you may discover what I was talking about or what it meant when you hang up the phone and you say, oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot my best friend's name. Well,

Or, you know, three years from now, you say, oh, my gosh, this is what she was talking about. I can't believe that, you know, I got that reading three years ago and I didn't believe it until now. Yeah, for me, sometimes when I get things a lot clairvoyantly or visuals in my mind's eye and sometimes things don't follow up as an explanation. So I've tried to not make an interpretation or what I think something is. I've had to stop myself in the past to say, OK, this is what I'm getting right.

If, to your point, it's not resonating with someone or I'll ask for further clarity and still if I'm not getting anything, then I want to give it as clean as possible or as raw as possible without the interpretation because I find that sometimes, I won't say mistakes, but I don't know.

I mean, Nicole is getting in the way versus what Spirit's actually trying to say and come through. 100%. Yeah. Okay. So now you have psychic abilities and mediumship abilities. For those that necessarily aren't familiar with the difference between the two or someone who also is a psychic medium, can you explain that for listeners?

Sure. So some people are strictly mediums, which means that they talk to dead people. They don't really tune into the sitter or the client. They talk to dead people on the other side for the client, and they get information from their deceased loved ones.

For me, being psychic and a medium means that I tune into your energy as well as your deceased loved ones. And everything that I get for your reading comes from your deceased loved ones and your guides and my guides and my deceased loved ones that are helping me on the other side. So I'm a conduit.

where I can help people in their life right now. But then I'm also that conduit that I could say, hey, you know, Aunt Jeannie's here. And so whether or not you call this ability a psychic ability or whether you call it mediumship, for me, it's all a combination.

So, like I said, it's about connecting to the other side. And when I do readings for people, I write stuff down before I even talk to them. And I'm getting the information from your deceased loved ones. And sometimes they want to let you know who they are or what their name or their initial is. And sometimes they're just there to give me the information. So, in essence, every reading I do is pretty much a mediumship reading because I'm getting the information from your guides, your loved ones on the other side.

But it's also a psychic reading because it's information about you. Noted. Yes. And the reason I ask is because I just like you, I believe that everyone is psychic and has the ability to essentially read energy of people, places and things. Maybe it's not super strong like you were talking about with the notes on the piano, but we do. It's essentially instinct. And then intuition is the way we may experience it more specifically in a focused manner that

And then mediumship is that communication with other beings, whatever you want to say. They could be living. They could be on the other side. So anyway, that's my interpretation of it for the most part. And I did want to ask you, too. So you work with your guides and angels and loved ones. Who are they on your team and how do they interact?

show up for you as well and readings? So that's also an interesting question because it changes over time. One of the classes I took a long, long time ago was at a place called Omega, and it's a holistic learning institute in Rhinebeck, New York. And if you can get a chance to go there, I would go there because there's a lot of great teachers and psychics that teach there. And it's a beautiful setting.

And I had this workshop with somebody and it was like a week long workshop or something. And it was actually a remote viewing session or remote viewing training, a coordinate remote viewing training with a military guy, like this guy that, you know, was doing CRV with the government. So he gave us what's called a target. And with remote viewing, you get these coordinates that are made up coordinates, but there's coordinates to get to the target data that you're trying to understand or pull, you know, bring back with you. And,

He gave us an overnight target, which meant that he gave us the coordinates. And then the next morning we were going to discuss what information we got from that target, from that site. And the whole time, overnight, the whole time I kept seeing like this older woman. I was seeing just like her head. And I was just seeing this smiling face and like in a happy way. I look a little evil right now, but there was a smiling face. And she had like this curly hair.

And I just kept hearing like Sarah or Stacy. And to this day, I still can't understand what she was, what her name was, but that's one of my guides. And I had never met her until that day. And since then, whenever I'm doing readings, I can tell whether Sarah or Stacy, I call her both, it has shown up and whether she's there. So sometimes when we do readings, uh,

We have specific guides. I also have a Native American guide that came about out of kind of nowhere. I was working with runes one day and I heard Wunjo and I kind of looked around and I knew I could see the Native American man who was standing there with the, you know, anyway, so I could see him clear as day and he was helping me to learn how to do runes, which was very interesting to me. And I know that he comes through to give me information and

And then I also have my deceased loved ones. Like my mom has passed. I know she comes through. And I know that, you know, my in-laws actually have also passed. And I know that they come through. And I know that since my mom passed, my psychic ability has gotten a bit stronger. And I know that, you know, she contributes to that.

So I use kind of a combination. And then I ask for all my other guides, you know, whatever guides I need to help me do this reading come through. So if I need a joy guide, you know, give me that joy guide. Like I want somebody that's going to make me really happy and make my client really happy. If I need a business guide,

I'm going to call through my business guide. If somebody comes to me and asks me about how can they, you know, save better or how can they do better financially, I'm not going to ask my mom for help because she was a brilliant woman, but she was terrible with money. So I'm not going to ask her, but I will maybe ask my financial guides or my grandparents who were actually really good with money. So, you know, it depends on what the reading is.

as to who's going to come through for me or how I'm going to get the information. I'm always curious who's on certain people's spirit teams, but then also how you can use them in your own life. Because my guides and angels, I have what I call like my go-tos, you know, and I always have one for protection, one for energy healing, to hold in ground space and everything. And then depending on the person's questions or what I feel psychically needs, I'll call in air

areas of expertise as well. It sounds very similar as far as like how we work. Okay. So why should people develop their own psychic or intuitive abilities? Why wouldn't you want to develop your own intuitive and psychic abilities? Now, I always go back to the lottery winning. Like,

sure, develop it for that. If that's the only reason, develop it for that. And then you'll discover that you can actually do other things with it. But it helps you in every single way. It helps you every single day. There's no time in your life that you don't need to use your intuition. And when I say that, I'm not talking about

you know, huge, momentous things. I'm talking about going to the grocery store and looking at the milk and saying, oh, I don't need milk. I just left and we had, you know, a half a gallon at home and getting home and your family saying, why didn't you get milk? We used all the milk. We need more milk. So that is your intuition talking to you. And so we all need to use our intuition from the simplest things like that to, you

You know, oh, I don't want to go out tonight. I don't want to go out tonight. I'm really tired. I don't want to go out tonight. And then your intuition is pushing you saying you need to go out tonight with your friends to have a good time because, gosh, that's hard. But yes, you need to go out tonight and you go out tonight and you end up meeting the love of your life.

And it's not because your friends were pushing you. It's because you felt drawn to it. So and goosebumps again. I don't know if you can actually see the goosebumps. My hair is like literally standing straight up. But yeah, so everybody there's always a reason. And, you know, when it comes to career feel, where do you feel drawn? You know, not just what can give you the best impression.

pay out right now or not what people are telling you to do. College, you know, where are you drawn to? What's going to make you the happiest? It's not just about picking the school. It is about picking the school, but it's also about where are you going to feel most comfortable? You know, you have five different schools you can choose because you got into all of them and they all offer you, you know, the psychology degree that you want to get. Where are you drawn to?

So it's just simple things like that that we discount if we don't realize that we can use our intuition to tune in. What are some ways that people can work on their psychic abilities or their intuition? Some ways that you suggest people start. So intuition.

I'm a little biased because I'm an author and, you know, I've written, I actually am just getting a contract for another book through Llewellyn. Congratulations. Thanks. So I've written and published nine books already through Llewellyn. And

I tell people, go to your bookstore or go to Llewellyn or Hay House or whichever place you're drawn to, because especially I know with my books and with a lot of other books, when I write, it's about you discovering your intuition. So I share what things mean, but then I also share stories of real life happenings and occurrences and readings that have happened to kind of

help you understand what I'm trying to explain. And then I also share exercises. So if you're trying to develop your own intuition and you want to discover what you're good at, discover what it means, you know, you talked about being clairvoyant and seeing things in your third eye, in your mind's eye. What if you're clairaudient and you hear things, but you don't know what that means? You know, you need to discern. So getting books that you can do

do the exercises in and practice by yourself or with others can be a huge, huge way to discover and learn and open up. And you can also practice with other like-minded people. So, you know, you might find that you have a friend who says, oh my gosh, I just read that book or, oh wow, did you see what happened with this? And you start talking about it and then you can start practicing and having fun with it.

And there's a lot of online things that you can do as well. I don't hold as much stock in those because a lot of people will do like one quiz, one intuition quiz and fail it. And they say, oh, forget it. I can never do this. It's so frustrating. There's like on TikTok or Instagram, the little content clips that people will drop. And then I...

I even try, but I do it. I do myself a disservice because I'm not in this, the mental state or the energetic state rather. And then when it happens, I'm like, I didn't get it right. And it's frustrating. But yes, set yourself up for success, people. Set yourself up for success. Exactly. Don't set yourself up for failure. I mean, you can do those online things and it can, you know, it can be great for you. But for most people, it's, you know, you're going to flip this card and what color is going to be on the other side. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

All right. So books, podcasts, obviously. Podcasts are a great way to discover your own abilities and discover how different people work with their abilities. So yes, podcasts. I should have said that right off the bat. But podcasts are amazing because they're also the kind of thing that you can log into whenever you want. So it's at your pace. Yes. And then exercises and practicing with like-minded people. I think those are all excellent. Okay. So I would...

like to dive into psychic symbols because you've written about this too. So what are psychic symbols? What are some of them?

So psychic symbols and psychic signs, everybody always asks me, are they the same thing? And for me, the way that I describe it is that psychic symbols are the things that you receive from the universe or the things that you have internally. They're intangible. You can't put your fingers on them. You can't hold them, but you either see them, you hear them, you feel them, you know them, but you can't hold them in your hands. Whereas, you know, a sign is

you can hold in your hand or you can point to and show somebody else. A sign is an external thing and a symbol is an internal thing. So yes, my first book was actually the book of psychic symbols. And psychic symbols are information that you get from your guides or your loved ones or internally that come through as symbolic information or as symbols because it's the easiest way to give you or to share information with you. And

The way that I like to describe it is that you should have your own psychic symbols journal. You can create one yourself. But there's common psychic symbols. There's common symbols that people across the world would understand, like a stop sign. You know, if you see in your mind's eye, if you're trying to decide whether to move forward with something, whether it's, you know, your career, your relationship, go to the store or whatever it is, and all of a sudden you see a stop sign in your mind's eye,

It's a no, like, you know, don't go any further. And that's pretty generic. Like everybody can understand the stop sign. But if you're trying to say, tune into your client's mother, you may get daffodils. Daffodils could indicate spring for some people. Daffodils could indicate grounding in the dirt or daffodils could indicate their mother because it was their favorite flower. For me, it's interesting because after my mom passed,

I started seeing and I was seeing these in readings and I was also seeing it without doing readings. And I discovered that it was a symbol for my mom. And what it was, was a baseball diamond. My mom never in her life played baseball. He got into watching baseball towards the very end of her life. She was never into it. Our whole family is not baseball. Like we never got into baseball. But all of a sudden when she's and I'm getting goosebumps again, when she would come through, I would see a baseball diamond.

And so during readings, if I see a baseball diamond, I have to tell people I'm seeing a baseball diamond. It either is relevant to you because, you know, you play baseball, your son plays baseball, something, you know, crazy happened at a baseball game or your mother's passed. Oh.

Got it. Yeah. You're not going to sit there and say that, you know, your symbol for your mom passing is a baseball diamond. Right. Yeah. Obviously. So that's why I say, you know, there's universal signs or symbols and then there's non-universal symbols. And that's why you can write down and you can keep track of your own symbolic journey, your own psychic symbols by doing your own journal.

What if somebody doesn't see visually, like in their mind's eye, clairvoyantly when it comes to symbols? Are there other ways that it can show up for them? Because, you know, people see repeating numbers, they'll see birds. And as you're saying, that's a sign and that's external. So how can one receive a symbol if maybe they don't see clairvoyantly? You can hear clearly.

You know, if all of a sudden I hear, I'm just making this up, but if I hear a song by Prince and I may be doing a reading for somebody who lost their son that they used to call Prince, you know, so it's all about how you receive information and everybody receives information differently. You know, the most common form of information or receiving information is clairsentience, which is clear feeling. So everybody experiences that for the most part. Yeah.

And you can experience symbolic information clear sentiently as well, because, you know, all of a sudden, if it feels like your feet are made of lead, that can be a symbol that the person you're reading for has diabetes. And that's, again, why we have like a symbols journal, because, you know, different things mean different things to different people.

So, yeah, there's all different ways to discover what the symbolic information is. Thanks for sharing that because there's I like the idea of writing things down when you get them and maybe you don't understand and you can't interpret or translate at that time. I've also always suggested to people that if they, you know, that sometimes we get in our heads sometimes.

What does this mean? You can also assign a meaning to something. I've had it before where I've had things show up either through psychically through a symbol or through an external sign. And I'm not necessarily sure. So I'm like, I'm still not getting it. So this is what I want this to mean moving forward. And Universe and our spirit team will customize and personalize our experiences for us. I don't know if you've experienced that too.

100%. And it's also, like I said earlier, it's the easiest way for them to give us information.

Because imagine trying to explain something and it takes a whole paragraph to explain it. Yeah. Whereas they could just give you one thing, you know, whether it's a word that you hear, whether it's a picture that you're an image that you see, they give you one thing. And all of a sudden you have this full explanation of what's going on. Also, when you get something that you don't know what it is, you can look it up. So there's a bunch of different like symbolic journals. Everybody's is going to be different. In the back of my book of psychic symbols, I think I have over 500 journals.

different meanings or different symbols that you may receive that you can look up. So that's like the one book people never lend out because they want to keep it next to their bed or

But also you have the ability to assign it and to say, well, this is what it's going to mean for me now. Like the heavy lead feet, you've said something entirely different than what I was saying. I was also thinking about like the Sopranos, but you also can ask for validation. So if you're not sure what that means, the symbolic information that you're receiving, if you don't know what it means and you're kind of pondering it for a little while, ask for validation.

Tell your guides, your loved ones, the universe to send you another symbol or to send you validating information so that you can understand what that was supposed to mean. Yeah, the clarification. That's one of the best ways when I'm working with someone is clarifying.

Let's say you receive an answer or information you're not necessarily sure. I always ask for tell me more or tell me about that. So you get a yes or no. Obviously, that can be clear cut. But maybe, you know, you get a feeling of sadness, for example, and you're like, OK, is this mine? Is this someone else's? And it's like, it's mine. OK, well, why am I feeling sad? Then you may get something visual in your mind's eye.

then that visual and so it's really about following those breadcrumbs and asking further clarifying questions in order to get to the answer that with which you seek and that's how you learn and that's how you grow and you practice your intuition okay I

Okay. I did want to really quickly share, I wasn't going to, but my guides angels are speaking of hitting somebody over the head, hammer me over the head, that one of my symbols of when I am tuning in someone's energy in my mind's eye, they'll show me like hands and the hands will be opening up and light will come through or I'll feel flushed and, and,

heated or my hands will heat up. And that usually indicates a healer as well and that somebody has healing energy or maybe that's part of their direction and path moving forward. So I felt led to share that too because that's my way. That doesn't mean that that's necessarily somebody else's, but

I started to interpret that and realized because there were themes and things that started to happen. So one of the things that you can do when you're learning your own intuition or psychic abilities and what some of these symbols mean or what these psychic hits are is starting when you're practicing with other people.

seeing what starts to show up for you through themes. And then that way you can start to draw the correlation as well. You talked about the healer. You could take it a step further and say, okay, you've shown me that they're a healer. What kind of healing do they do? Yeah. I mean, what you're saying a hundred percent, like that's perfect. Absolutely perfect. Okay. So we wanted to talk about this and that is the current state of the world.

How can people tune in and use their intuition to help themselves and the world in general? So that's a big topic. So I'd like to pivot and start to discuss that. That is a huge topic. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that down, if I wrote that down, but... You did. You don't. Yeah. One of the things that is really difficult is having a hard time functioning in society. You know, whether you are pro or anti-whatever,

it can be really difficult. So being able to tune in to your own intuition and being able to kind of look towards a future and, you know, hopefully seeing something that makes you happier can help you to get through what you're dealing with or can help you to get through everything that's happening, you know, all of the stuff that's happening around us. And to take it a step further, you know, the state of the world and the people that are in it

your intuition can help you to discern between the different people that you may meet. And, you know, right away, you can feel what kind of energy they have and whether they are...

energetically matched with you or whether they're polar opposite. Using your intuition can really help you with that. And using your intuition can also help you discover why people do what they do or why things happen, you know. And when you begin to read the energy of people more, then that can help you. And now I'm also a Libra.

So I don't know, you know, if anybody knows about astrology, Libras are very kind of balanced and they're always looking for that balance. And so it's really hard for me as a Libra to be 100% like this, except for certain things. And with those certain things, I can't, you know, if I feel like somebody is totally on the other side of something, I can't even begin to meet them in the middle. But everything else is very balanced, you know, so.

That can be difficult if I'm not using my intuition. What I was hearing you say or seeing rather when you were talking was my guides and angels were like rewind and they were showing me the pandemic and how we all can relate to the pandemic. We all experienced it. Really, I think first thing on a global scale and a global level where virtually we were all connected, but yet also disconnected. And that was a moment in time.

for years where we were separated, yet we came together. And I do believe fully in my heart that so many of us became awakened and got more in tune with ourselves and what we wanted. And then as the world started opening back up and things were never going to go

back to normal. You know, it just felt like hit after hit after hit. And what am I going to do? And ultimately, there is not only that hope, but what you're talking about is

Being in tune with yourself and understanding how your intuition and your psychic abilities show up and helping using that as like a navigational tool to say, what is working in my life and or not? And help me, guide me. And one of the things in The Course in Miracles that I love is, you know, asking God, universe, source, where would you have me go? What would you have me say and to whom? And in simplest forms, it could be, how may I be in service? Or how may I be in service?

Or what's my assignment today? And by then using your intuition and your psychic abilities, you'll receive the insight and the steps that you need to take, whether it is, all right, my job. You know, you talked about relationships.

We talked about that a little bit. Also, the relationships and the people in your life or what have you. But you can start there and that can help you navigate your own life, but also what's happening on the world stage, I feel. A hundred percent. And it also helps you when you're, you know, when you're saying, what can I do? You know, it helps you to discover why people are doing what they're doing and what can I do to help them

see things from a different perspective. Because not everybody is going to react the same way to certain things. So, you know, it helps you just kind of determine how to

react to them so that they can react to you in a positive way. Yes, absolutely. Okay. So you were getting interrupted a lot, as you were saying during the interview. Was there anything that you felt that was coming through either from your spirit team or for me or for the listeners? Because I was trying not to, you know, I could see that and you were also saying it. So I wanted to kind of open that up to see if there's anything you wanted to share from that perspective.

Well, it's interesting because, you know, one of the things that I kept getting interrupted by was it just feels like there's different energies around us that kind of are saying, you know, we need to get this out more. That's what I kept hearing. We need to get this out more. And.

It was certain topics and I can't from the life of me remember what we were talking about or what I was talking about when I just kept getting interrupted. But it was certain topics that seemed to be pretty important to them to talk about and to get out more and to allow other people to understand why it's important or how it's important. And, you know, it does feel like I wrote down February also. So I don't know whether February means something to you. It

It's either a birthday or anniversary or the birthday or anniversary of somebody that's passed or it's a significant event. So if it doesn't resonate with you specifically right now, then I would hold on to it because it may mean that in February, probably of next year, that there's going to be a significant change for you, which is...

I'm feeling a positive change for you. So...

obviously during this interview, I'm getting messages from my guides and angels. You're getting messages and then you're trying to stay on track. So thank you for, thank you for sharing that. Okay. I'm curious real quick too, before we break, was there anything else that you were getting? For you specifically? What's interesting is I got, right now I'm getting something about a sandbox. So sandbox either tells me that it's,

you know, something that you experience with other people or it's, you know, you're playing in the sandbox. So if I see a sandbox, which I'm getting, like I said, it could be a chowder

childhood something to do with your childhood like memories or whatever or playing in the sandbox to me kind of symbolically is that you're going to be working with other people that's what that's what they're called now yeah yeah and i can't goosebumps yeah so that's that's good that's validation yeah i don't know whether it's like a show or whether it's going to be like you know something more i know you have a podcast already i don't know whether it's going to be more but you're going to be working with other people like you're all going to be in the sandbox together

Yes, absolutely. I don't want to share too much because I'm rolling things out slowly, but yes. So I wanted to give you that validation. Okay, Melanie, was there anything that we didn't have a chance to cover that you wanted to share with listeners? No, just trust in your ability. You know, the biggest thing, the biggest question I get

from people that are kind of just tuning in or that I mentor is how do I know it's not my imagination? Great question. Yeah. And my answer is, you know, if you didn't have an imagination, you wouldn't be able to receive all this information because if you couldn't imagine, say, a sandbox, okay, if you couldn't imagine that in your mind's eye, then you're not going to be able to receive that information either. That's step one.

Allow that your imagination is helping you to tune in. And then step two is if you still think that the information you're getting is your imagination, and I get that too. I'm a professional psychic and I always wonder, you know, or often wonder, is this my imagination because I want this thing to happen?

um ask for validation you know and the easiest ways that you can receive validation if you're not sure about something is use tools or you know ask for signs like external signs so you don't have to process it necessarily internally and think oh again is that my imagination but you can use tools as well you can use cards you can use tarot cards oracle cards um

My psychic symbols, Oracle cards, you can use different types of validation. You can use pendulums. You can use runes. You can use. I mean, there's so crystals. There's so many different types of external tools that you can use that can help you determine whether or not you're using just your imagination or whether you're actually tuning in. Because if you ask a question and you don't trust it, take it out of your hands by doing it externally.

Yes, and I was literally going to say that, but also...

The yes and is trust and faith. There comes a moment. Trust and faith cuts through everything, through our cynical nature, the logic, the programming, all of the things that kind of get us out of that state of connectedness and oneness. So at some point, there's only so much that you can go for that external validation. And it is about trusting in yourself and your own abilities that it is not only possible, it's happening. Yeah.

whether you know it or not and paying attention to it. It's the same thing that happened when I felt like I was hit over the head, you know, and I heard the words, you need to do this work now. And, you know, in the beginning, everybody said, what are you talking about? And I said, I just, I believe like this. I trust that this is what I'm supposed to do. Yes, I was the controller of a company. Yes, I was a, you know, I did accounting. Yes, I owned my own business. But yes, I'm supposed to be a psychic, like a professional psychic. And I believed it wholeheartedly.

So, yeah, you definitely have to trust and have faith that what you're receiving, you're supposed to be receiving. All of that. All of that. OK.
