Nominations open for EP candidates
These days, nominations for the hamlet candidates are also being accepted
Yesterday morning the nominations of the candidates who will contest the European Parliament election began to be received. They will remain open until Thursday 10 April 2014. On these days, candidates can submit nominations between 9am and 1pm and between 3pm and 7pm, in the quarters of -Electoral Commission in Evans Building, in Valletta.
On the same days and times, the nominations of the candidates who will contest the elections for the Administrative Committees in the communities are also being received. The elections in what are known as hamlets will also take place next May, and a total of sixteen communities will be voting. Thirteen in Malta and three in Gozo. These are -
Fleur de Lys in the locality of Birkirkara
Is-Swatar in the localities of Birkirkara and Msida
Gwardiamanġa in the locality of Tal-Pietà
Paceville in the locality of San Điljan
Il-Kappara in the locality of San Ġwann
Il-Madliena in the locality of Swieqi
Bubaqra in the locality of Żurrieq
Tal-Virtu in the locality of Rabat
Il-Bahrija in the locality of Rabat
Farruġ in the locality of Luqa
St. Peter's in the locality of Đaz-Zabbar
Burmarrad in the locality of San Pawl il-Baħar
Baħar i-ħaghaq in the locality of Naxxar
Santa Lucija in the locality of Ta KerĽem
Ix-Xlendi in the locality of Munxar
Marsalforn in the locality of Iz-Zebbuġ
In the case of Gozitan candidates, the nominations of the candidates are being received at the Identity Card Office in Rabat, Gozo.
