And welcome to broken silicon, a gaming and hardwork podcast. I am your host, tom, and today i'm joined by micro host dan. Are you doing dan you think confused about what your name is?

Um I mean, who can do their own name? You know.

everybody is really a sense of oneself.

I don't know that's why this is the philosopher podcast.

Go into just doing philosophy now.

Yes, this is a nc. We're going to .

bring the niche at some point. If you look at the philosophy pog guess out there, that's going to have to come up. Um but yeah I don't know I mean what this is an interesting in time uh for the channel and spent a very pretty we're writing them down pretty soon um for the year, not forever.

Yeah forever. Uh this is that no um um for the year we got, of course, David coming up as the last guess. I'm talking to Daniel nanny, maybe high yelled that someone else to come on two in december and then also have James um will prior on again to talk about what's unfold that you know he is to do be in charge of statement today at amt.

What he thinks about what that have is advised and area lake at the end of the year um and and then we also we will get into IT have seems to still be a very bizarre time for the market in terms of like people not knowing when they want to launch their products like and I won't be surprised if there are some surprises that happen over the next few months is really is a crazy time. Um but I guess i'll also say that we are recording the slightly early still on sunday, you know the seventeen that we usually record on sundays but trying to record this instead of in the evening in the early afternoon so that dark and edited and repair IT all before I go on vacation. So I guess I just put that out as well as that when you're listening to this, I will well, you're patron.

I might be exhausted in an airport somewhere as like we're going to coast to ra. And the flight we got that was a reasonable Price that worked for our schedules. IT was like it's on monday technically, but it's like five .

a so I mean ideal time .

for a flight. You know if it's at five, I mean, we're not going to bed. We're just going to to stay awake and try to sleep on the flights on the way there.

Yeah, I ve had a few of those flights before and it's it's a debate. Do I try to get to bed early and and like get up on time? And I do. I like try to get in a few hours of sleep. And the solution I arrived that for for me personally was I drink a ton of water before I go to bed because then I know I will wake and because you're .

a much of your sleep than me. So you're worried the alarm won't work.

worried the alarm works like sixty four houses of.

You actually on this night, too, I remember you know, one of my good friends, greg, he stayed with me on a business trip in ash will. I think this was a year two ago and I remember is like, well, i'm going to get a really early tomorrow. Then we realized i'd have to be at the airport like two or three anyways. So we just stayed up and watched the netflix brand new Cherry flavor, just watched the whole seas and intel, like for I am. Then I went to .

sleep and he left in the, but that's a bound to generate some interest. Interesting dreams. I mean.

there was a really good show, so we couldn't stop washing IT. But yes, IT was a very, I was so tired I stayed to sleep. But yes, a very haunting .

show being delicious. Watch in that. So I imagine is an interesting experience .

I am sure we're talking about anymore. Point is, when you're listening to this, I will be on vacation. Um there will course still be content that we prety prepare that we'll cut from this podcast that will be dropped out the week. Narrow chance i'll do a video when i'm in service of my girlfriend may need to work one day, well, half a day or something. And so you know, you know, you know, depending on if I get some really interesting information about a product i've been told I might get information about is a chance could be like a ten minute video, but for the most part, all be on vacation. When I get back, the content will keep rolling out.

the content will flow.

the content tent will keep falling. Rain off off the top of the idea of that works, but let us move on to corrections here. Compressed the ibo ox, right? And is for broken silk on two eighty two.

The p four actually had two fifty six eight bits of RAM. And then an ARM processor, yes, but IT was for certain background tasks and sleep functions and never handle the OS completely or other functions like that. Sounds like you alleged a couple episodes ago originally SONY.

And I believe x box was like this as well. Actually reserve two out of the six, two out of the eight course for the O. S.

And background person. And that was eventually reduced to one out of the, well, actually, on now. And I do to singly remember there was an extra half of court.

I don't, I don't even need a correction if i'm wrong. I don't care people, but my memory was SONY reserved two cores for the Operating system and out of eight of very weight course with A P S. four. And the x box had to also reserve a third core, or at least half of one for connect. And so yeah also actually the fact i'll have a weaker CPU even though they tried to clock at faster.

Now over time, of course.

they have got read of the candle, connect around the back and then SONY freed up more and words of the CPU and RAM actually as well for games. But my understanding, I actually double check this, can press the eyes blocks, uh, is that IT was used for some other OS features over time. Now I don't know which ones or how many, but I believe yes, of course, like if a certain mental RAM of the P S.

Four is reserved for the OS. Then for sure, not all of IT is being done on the ARM CPU, but the fact that they kept frain IT up, I feel like they did make more and more of the OS functions get handled by that on processor though. And that is why the P S, for at least the base version, I think the pro is still real.

Tilly performs in the Operating system like I can always. But at that RAM, I think they did. That's why I became more sluggers though.

So there are overall point that I became more slugged because they offer and more to the ARM. CPU was true, but no, IT was never everything. And I think I may have said that we would be incorrect. Yeah, I mean.

that or they just I don't know I guess that for misremembering things I don't know, maybe they just try to make them is more efficient and IT really didn't get that much more efficient. And maybe too much crap was being .

handled by one or both, right? Like Carrying down, making the OS more efficient, but then also trying to make the main CPU do as little as possible to for end of RAM really is the important way of free of resources.

Yeah because I idea, remember and so he doesn't to get Better about this and I I think they are stop making your frequent council. So luggage at the end of the the generation just, well, I don't know.

Well, the history was the really bad one. I mean, IT basically became unusable by the but well into the PS four jet became unusable because they just try to make IT use the play station store up the same of the P. S.

Four uses. But I do think on the one hand, they probably will do that less moving forward, but it's probably because they've less direct competition is the reason they would I mean, you for being honest, there was especially the P. S. Three and three sixty.

There was just this arms race to try to say Allen waged Better than killzone or whatever and like I think that's why they were willing to compromise that because in reviews they could still claim a charted three best looking game or not yeah and I think over time, uh yeah over time, they'll be less pressure to do that for SONY. But also over time, it's just the lent performance is just higher. Like five percent.

I know what IT is, right? But like ten percent of a PS five CPU Better than like or you know is Better than like the whole P S four cp or something like it's probably not exactly that. But I think over time also, even if they do free at more resources, it's still the romance of much more than what they were dealing with, with prior councils that could kind of do everything. But I was like kind of barely not like now where the PS five is like more than a performance to run netflix.

I mean, oh yeah, and I don't imagine you'll see youth slow out in the O S. Near the end of the p five generation, the p 5 generation。 I mean, i've noticed ed no slow down as of so far, although don't think we're quite getting into that territory yet where so he was really trying to push performance .

with the p five timer cry, write him, says tom in the last time, think you yet again made fun of dismissed and demand microsoft one drive. I think you're often the mistaking one drive for a bit locker. No bit locker is bad.

One drive is by far the best in a greater cloud solution. Big differ, ideal for anyone with between just stop, laptop or computer, even phone. So SHE sam has incredible one drive integration today.

One job is with the one huge competitive advantage of windows. For me, the reason windows remains my preferred to s and remember, I group using linux year amboy. I just think one drive.

So when I work to general motors in the company, after that one drive, work fine. I mean, for business. And depending on how you decide to use that, i'm sure can be OK.

But what I do know is that IT almost destroyed my girlfriend's data from A P. C. And i've seen way too many people, including window, complain about how this works. And so I think for a business, it's probably fine.

But I think turning IT IT on by default for consumer laptops is or destroy is just a disaster and is just a way to try to trick you into having to buy more storage because they're hijack your files and they're not where they're supposed to be on your psc, which breaks a lot games compatibility when it's trying to references thing and folders that there are now on the cloud for some stupid reason. So no carbon cry. I do know what one drive is and I think IT ambit locker suck.

Yeah I mean, one drive i've had similar issues that your girlfriend has had to like, completely screws with your file management IT like tries to suddenly trick you into using IT as the main thing you store things to and then, oh, look at IT has I don't remember the exact limit that IT has, but a limit that you can reach surprisingly .

quickly and then.

oh, good yeah and then it's like, oh, you're screw out now we want you to buy this, which is a another thing that microsoft keeps trying to do is turn windows into a service with our live service video game. Or every feature is behind some frickin paywall like that. They show you on your test step. And one drivers, part of that for me like, no, I I, I, I, I really don't like one drive. Maybe i'm in the minority of people here, but I also think one drive 是 yeah and again.

I don't think I really have add issues with IT when I professionally when I use IT for work, but I do haven't issue with IT and a lot of consumer devices that have on by default, my opinion, really stupid settings on by default. But right, let us now move on to the first story here.

The so number one, until just admitted its early launch, didn't go his plane and his promising fixes first quoting from rob Robert holic L V P of client AI in technical marketing. I can't go to all the details yet, but we've identified a series of issues multifactorial y're. The O S level there, the BIOS level.

The watchers didn't go played. And that's been a humbling lesson for us all and has kind of inspired a fairly large response internally. They get to the bottom of what happened.

And to fix IT, I think the bones are solid area. Lake IT is I truly believe that IT is fundamentally good part. IT delivers power consumption reductions that we that we really needed to make across our tire portfolio by now.

I don't know to me, IT just seems like we're getting daja the area lake launch with similar issues as rise in nine thousand, to be fair, but they were arguably worse because IT wasn't even five percent Better than fourteenth genet launch IT was a regression and IT also doesn't have three parts coming to redeem IT in any way. Meanwhile and tells previous big launched media like also launched a very poor state. So it's hard to believe that this is just another flu plex and five, considering it's worse than what to happened to send five.

And we've already seen this before the previous ultra generation. So what's going on at intel? Well, in the affirmation live stream, Robert, how claim, ed, that there was a matrix of possibilities in combination of BIOS OS specis result in an issues with high memory lencs.

But I was already warned about this and told a half of IT comes from the fact it's using these sites anyways. But continuing, I will also set a time frame for the fixes, answering to a question from times harder editor, paul, that some fixes will be in november or early december at the latest. At the same time, though, in tos, current best performing products finally faces a class action.

The class action complete represents a specific case of a new york custom who bought in I seven, thirteen, seven gay issues of instability and of crashes in restarts issues not even installing a pass for the thirteen chen fix over the eric and its few users will only suffer at lodge or not like it's practice as erupted, just a plain broken product forever. So there you go. I mean, I guess we could I guess I did actually didn't know what to expect a ventis response here, but I guess they're claiming they are going to have patches.

Um and you know I roll my I think I roll my eyes while is reading the one of times have heard the company go this has been a humbling for us. Okay sure it's always time, please. Um but go on.

The one thing I guess I will give the ends the slightest degree of of credit is at least they are finally acknowledging that a problem exists. What a problem obviously exists. I don't really know if I want to believe them when they say that these are temporary performance issues.

Like how long have you guys been testing this? How is this such a shocker that like it's not performing to the standard you wanted to me like that kind of doesn't make sense to me. And as i've said in the past, I don't really trust us to avoid in telle sys at this point.

So okay, you say you're gna fix IT show me what you got is that is IT now Better almost across the board than forty nine hundred k in performance? Because if it's not, it's like good job, I guess intel. I mean, amy, these last generation is still Better than .

your current one new one can press the eyes blocks. Write him, tom, until announcer would be an airlink fix for gaming coming with in a month. Say, as a hypothetical, that the inconsistencies and instabilities are gone OK, and then IT gains five to ten percent across their stacks.

And gaming, what Price with the two forty five k, two sixty five k and two eighty five k have to be to do attract now. And they ultimately still have to have severe Price. Because do you think? Yeah, I do.

Because what I actually looked this up, of course, before we start recording down and the test on tex pot, which is harder in box, the ninety eight hundred extra beds, the two eighty five came gaming by thirty five percent on average in ten A T V. So I don't know what patches they got in bio updates, but I doubt it's going to improve performance by thirty five percent. And they're still on five percent according to tech power, up in average application performance.

So they would need a patch that at least ten percent across the board. And even then, we have a narrow application performance win and still a pretty horrible defeat in gaming, still really being comparable to then for and gave me at that point um and therefore is still needs Price cuts because aimed to Price cuts. I mean, I ve been check what IT is now, but typically you're finding in the nine nine fifty X I believe for under six hundred, you know you're finding the ninety nine hundred x just becoming something i'm going to recommend more and more now for like four hundred box, four fifty or something.

And without in mind, I can't help I think that I I think the two ty five can you feel like I don't know five hundred box, the the ultra seven needs to be four hundred, and the ulch five below three hundred, because the old of five, again, remember if they were to improve, gaining performance by ten percent for the two eighty five? K, okay, great. But that still puts the five, which is clock slower IT.

I mean, right now, there's some games with trading blows with them three. So yeah I think three hundred, four hundred, five hundred and itself to be the Prices because there still be behind the competition half the time, especially if you're not talking about the ultra and the ultra 5 slower and amb s cut Prices。 So I I just don't think there's really a way to truly salvage this.

yeah. I mean, I guess if they get a member performance saying like realistic, I can say mega realistic of like five to ten percent. I don't know the two eighty five k is probably justified a little bit above the nine, eight hundred and thirty that like maybe and I don't know everything else still needs to be cheaper. Like like you said, everything needs I think the two forty five maybe needs a like eighty dollar hairy ut every the other two need like a one hundred dollar cutting Price at least like I don't understand how their Price that they're at now earth on new egg at six hundred thirty dollars, but that's entirely too expensive in my opinion.

The only reason that they even remotely holding that Price is because it's a been really it's been a paper launch. So there's like almost none of them for sale.

yeah. So like even if they make things Better than what they are now, I still think they need to be cheaper than what they are now. I guess no one is buying them and there's no stock availability though, so they can keep that whatever six hundred thirty or our Price point for the eight people are whoever that actually want to buy a two eighty five .

k well and lets you know color space to space on this one. We don't need like, yes, theoretically, work to be this good and that to do that, that would be fair if IT was this. Let's remove, just pretending everyone who watches the latest news in the value, things perfectly fairly, that sound.

Most people do. They look at dayton reviews, and I don't think i've seen dayman reviews this bad in my life. I am, honestly, they came off worse than bottles s or reviews or at least there is less apologizing for intel. And people were, I think, unfairly apologizing for bolt s. Don't apologize .

for that sucks. But part of that is just intel has been unknown now for several years and I don't know .

a the instability botox are worked yeah I think IT isn't unstable.

It's just like when bolton s are came out, they are still coming off of A M D, having a decent amount of goodwill ale towards the market. The market. I will go well for AMD. And here it's just well, this is after six months of you guys like probably more than six months at this point, like eight months to months of them pretending there isn't an issue with rapture lake and people are tired of IT, right?

This was the worst time for this to happen because it's following a generation that lost a lot of trust for them. So I I think you could remove then five, like I think I ve said this, like then five could not exist and amy is going to outside intel because of the good will you've lost. And now we've lost again with area lake.

And then for is cheap, so removes and fire from the equation. They will need to do Price cuts anyways with how about this launch has been so again, and answer the question, ten percent wouldn't be enough to really make a crazy difference in A M D. Already cheaper. Yeah it's going to addressing Price cuts IT just will yeah add a minimum for any amount for them to defend any of the do yourself chair IT needs to be a plus ten percent knowing stability in Price cuts um dark kl met rights in is there any indication that the lack of hyper threats on airs p cores as hampering e gaming performance? Yeah, I tried to look around a little bit before we started recording.

I mean, maybe you could argue some of the games that use more than eight threads seem to maybe perform worse, but that's one of those things for you and needs someone to like really, really, really investigate and really know what they're dealing like a window and cartoon blocks and game's neccessary, really know which games leverage wide. And even then A P, O can be used to use the equals with IT. Sometimes I I just, I can conclusively say that yet I looked around though, kind of seemed to me like games that use a lot of threads seem to fair worse. So maybe they're some evidence, but is that just because those games also have lencs issues or more lencs sense? I I don't know.

So I mean, yes, but IT makes sense if IT goes over a course that IT eight threads, yeah sorry, eight threads. IT heard performance a little bit, but I don't know. I think the just needs to set a little bit like they say they have fixes coming soon. And hopefully those are right, some extent real. And then you need somebody that has a lot of hardware in time to do to do the testing to actually do the testing to prove IT because i'm sure those videos are coming .

yeah like we need to isolate all the issues first. And once those are fixed or allegedly fixed, then we need to isolate exactly what games we think could even test this. Yeah so um all right.

Well, let us now move on to story number two. This piece of content sponsor by duck duck goes privacy pro. Privacy pro is a three in one subscription service for the U.

Amy cuts workforce first quoting crm and then doing some ization. And the end here, A M, D is laying off roughly four percent of its global workforce to focus on its largest growth opportunities, which includes its efforts to chAllenge in videos s AI. Chip dominance, amy told zero n.

As part of a lining our resources with our largest growth opportunities, we are taking a number of targeted steps that will unfortunately result and reducing our global workforce ed by approximately four percent. We are committed to treating impact and employees with respect and helping them through this transition, the representative added. Now amy, laos may seem minor on the surface, considering its just four percent, but based on information that I ever see from sources, these laffed are very targeted and making some people very mad.

The simili custom in gaming division has been hit especially hard, time told, with cuts of up to ten percent there. After all, as amy said, they are aligning our resources with our largest growth opportunities. And if you look at gaming revenue, it's been pretty bad, especially with xbox.

Employ for some my custom and then gp sales just to the bar, pretty much being down right now. So so I cause when gaming I had had been under performing. And I guess so that makes sense. Why why there's more layoffs to focus more on A I but I must report that people tell me this has damaged moral emd very badly.

That the people, especially like the game, well, especially the same my custom and the game vision with GPU is, I think a lot of people there are like, expect, well, yeah, but like, well, for making less GPU dies for r DNA for kinds c sensor duce at count person, it's whatever. But in the same, I customers are pretty mad. They're like A U kidding me.

The P, S, five x box were executed well. Psy process, home run steam decks of success. Are you really reducing high count here? We're probably going to igher or or of my customer at the same time.

I heard people in the C, P, U, divisions at AMD going good. They weren't pulling their slack. So I don't know.

This is increased divisions betwen. Several parts of the company. I already heard there are some tribal ism there.

I don't like to hear that. So yeah, I just reporting. I've heard this is really worse than aim is making IT out to be. Like you would expect, these companies always try to sugar out these types of things. And IT doesn't make me worry about the future of AMD GPS or anything, but IT does make me worry about their ability to catch up two in videos quickly as we would hope they would. So yeah.

I mean, if they're cutting gaming or their GPU division um or they are gaming GPU division that sets to me, well, kind of putting this on the backburner for .

a little bit again, ten percent. It's not like to who cut half of their G P people. So let's put things in perspective.

I'm i'm not trying to a leg, but they are about just not make gp s anymore.

But and I have heard of people remember a year ago in video g force complaining they're not getting enough foundation. So this kind of seems to be an industry wide thing.

Yeah was that like I mean, that just seems to me like AMD might not try to take the performance crown for a couple generations, who knows? And to that point, you made about g for us, I don't know. IT does speak to the thing that I fear about the hardware market where they might be realizing too hard.

Tods A I and that's going to look pretty stupid and a few years when there is a burst in the bubble. But um if AMD wants to be competitive and A I like truly competitive against in video, they need to get in now while the iron is still kind of part and then with them I can custom I don't know that kind of sucks my opinion for them. Like I think there they may .

be at home runs with the p five x box. See that. I mean.

I think from AMD point of view, they should view all of those as success is even if the x box issa doing that well, I mean, the PS five is doing great. Like you said, the steam I can do in great. I don't know what else I guess is in that department.

But and I mean, the last real thought I have on this is the emergence of tribal ism, which is a big CoOperation. I guess there's gonna tribes in every company. But and hopefully that's not a proto to where intil is right now. What's happening at the empty, although that wouldn't show itself for a decade, I I don't think are the Better part of a decade at least if that's what's happening.

Yeah I mean, to be fair to A M D. I, if these reports i've heard are true, let's be honest, that they might be thinking as, look, x box says they're making more consoles. But and I reported this at the last minute, they cancelled the x box series X, E league, or over the heck they are going to call IT.

And IT took forever to switched to six minute for the x box series s dashers ing tradition. So A M, D might be looking at x box and going look, even if they keep making more councils IT looks like they're going to make half as many and they suck to deal IT. So why wouldn't when we reduce our headcounts in the division by ten percent of like one of our main customers is clearly kind of getting out of the business from that perspective? I get IT from the game, from the game inside.

Maybe they're like, look, we're not gonna need this many employees on G P until r dina five launches. That's a in like two years, the year and half at least. So we want the money elsewhere.

So I just remind people, if IT was thirty percent, I go, this is very bad. If it's ten percent, they don't need as many people to make x boxes anymore. They don't need as many people to make big r DNA for.

For now, it's logical. I just don't like how their handling IT because from what IT sounds like, it's not like they did five percent in just the under performing employees. They just gutted ten percent. They thought they didn't need even the people that were over performing. In some cases, i've heard not over, but the people performing well.

Yeah, I mean does suck like there is, but I don't know. I feel like everybody has at least second and experiences in some way like you have a parent to friend your spouse, whatever, they just get laid off their company. They were doing fine and it's just the accountant saw that this wasn't worth keeping this job and that sucks.

Yeah yes. So I don't know. I don't really much more to say, but I would bring that up again though I reported a year ago that in people working on NVIDIA, drivers were mad they couldn't expand their team fast enough and they blame part of the starfield issues on that.

Um and so the way I would summarize IT is um yes you know A M D has cut some of the gaming but it's put things in perspective, A X G has gutted the graphics card team in video, hasn't fired people but they are not increasing their budget really in a company that has a ballooning budget. So relatively speaking, they are underfunding gaming and andy cut by ten percent. IT seems to be an industry why I think did not focus on graphics right now like .

that s just be honest, that might just not be all the money is being made right now. So I mean, A I is huge.

sorry. Let us then IT move on to story number three. Alright, reports of panic buying emerge as trumpet terrace loom. Alright is the right IT is a fact.

The one thousand ty eight hundred extra logger with heavy volume european and retailers like manufactory advertise piles of one ninety eight hundred extra ties on twitter and microsoft U. S. Dozens of ninety eight hundred extras are verified because they show you the sock in mind in stock in many locations to this day.

And the ninety eight hundred extra still, and I check for four recording remains. Number one on amazon. You can be number one best seller unless there is the stock to sell, so the sock is there. However, IT just wasn't enough in some regions, and IT is selling out, and scalpers are taking advantage of IT, especially outside the united states.

And while the main is a major main reason for being hard to get in some regions, there seems to be another much more concerning factory going on here, panic buying like is twenty twenty one all over again. You see this channel least last week that while sources with in all markets I spoke with did at least have enough stock for a mediocre to decent launch, markets outside the us. Definitely received a significantly less stock than the united states received.

And dirigo tors that they spoke with in the united noted that there was panic buying going on by U. S. companies.

And it's not just panicked buying of the ninety one hundred X R D. Missouris reported panic buying of all PC components by all U. S. Companies to the point that we are already seen shipping rates climb. Shipping rates have, to be fair, already been going up this year to red sea attacks.

But we see a new and shipping animals predict a thirteen point six percent increase in ships tonnage this november compared to november of twenty twenty three. So we've see actions across the pacific with PC partner group as well, the second largest GPU they make. So tech NOD3 and others are now also moving from hong to singapore to avoid terrorist。 So there you go.

Yes, the the eight hundred extra is harder to get outside the U. S. Because because of a lack of volume.

It's because AMD is trying to push as much stock, especially resupplied. By the way, IT seems into the us as quickly as possible before possible tips kicking. This is happening with many other companies too.

And I must admit that I also suspect the incredibly high volume for the P S, 8 pro in the us。 Might be for a similar reason. So my advice, if you are in the us and you want to build a PC in the next six months, probably apply to anyone on earth actually consider doing IT.

Now this influx is pushing down. Price is short term because they're flooding the market to take advantage of non tariffs right now. But long term things, we get a lot worse. So and again, since then, by the way, I put this part of the people I work, I talk with and retail distribution, they all say, doesn't matter who IT is best bee microsite amazon, they are stocking up on things like cbs because they think there could be terrorists. They want to have .

them in warehouses before that happens. I mean, yeah, I would echo your santo if your. Planning on building something.

Yeah, do IT now? I I mean, I think to look a little bit optimistically, hopefully terriers don't kick in immediately. I'd be surprised if they happened. I be surprised if they happened the first, like two months.

But next year, yeah.

yeah. I would be surprised like they're terrorists by the end of march next year. But who knows when I could happen? That's what they're going to push for. A PC parts are gna be among the most affected, like everything is manufactured in taiwan and or china. And who knows, maybe we'll do a specific cutout for taiwan, hopefully, but I wouldn't bet on parts be staying cheap now and I think .

you'll get cut outs. You know, tim cook is really good at buttering up trump. Tim apple SHE to apple now again, is really good at botterill up trump, but and that's expected by lot of analysis, there will be some tiffs and then who can make him happy enough to give their company, uh, car out.

But why could made playstation and SONY get that apple sama, you know, a small S S D company? I don't think so. I because like they don't have the money to lobby the president.

So who is that effect? Do you yourself probably the most you know what I mean in like because there's all these little niche parts coming from all these companies, and I don't know how many of them will be able to lobby that. So especially when IT comes to do IT yourself, this is should be a very real concern for people, I think.

And I was a little surprised to see how much this is happening like I thought some people would be like o that's not true. But everyone I ve asked is it's happening. There's pai fine.

I mean call IT panic IT seems like pretty also to sure try to try to keep up stock right now, get the stock while it's cheap. Like so yeah I mean, I don't know what else to this um I think that makes sense if you want to buy e bye now if you can dead is one .

one seven rights and this tom and dam I highly double. This will happen. But I just tell us on your thoughts with a loving potential for tariff s on foregone ds in the us is a possible that intel might have an advantage over empty by having more domestic production.

I know they're leaning heavily to tmc this generation and probably next generation and who knows, maybe forever, but depend on how the tax go. Do you see a possibility of intil domestic products being artificially well Priced against A M D imports? Um so IT depends again on the car bouts like does a pat gelsinger button up trump in the right way? He seems good at to do, to be honest.

Maybe well, but I think people are just missing how global intel is. One of the most advanced foundry ies is in ireland. Is that immediately discovered from people, not the united states, and they still rely on components from all over the world.

And I think this I think this is something you see way too often in mainstream reporting in the united states of and globally is just like we'll remember this is made here and it's like, no, the playstation, the the ap is made in taiwan and and then everything else comes from china and every other place in the world. Like, no, like, like everything pulls from parts and supplies. Like, like, what? Like the silicon itself to see and itself like you, like you, like, it's from all over the world.

This would affect everyone. And if there's retaliatory ory terrorists, and they almost always are, I mean, this will just up the Prices forever. And I just up the Prices for everything.

Well, yeah, like like you said, it's a global economy. Look where everything comes from. I mean, if people remember back in twenty twenty two, that was a big thing of of discussion. If, like ukraine, the war in ukraine could up Prices of sick, because the ukraine happens to be one of the bigger x motors of helium, which is important for manufacturing. So yeah, this, like he said, this could have hard to predict a dog on A, I do how global manufacturing a piece of santis yeah and yeah I mean.

maybe or the other parts around the pcb and the heat spread. Er, where does that metal come from? Is that actually mass produced in china for this line? But the other line they produced in america? Ah yes yeah you mentioned the warm in ukraine mean grain Prices went up and it's like for the is pony a grain, right? But if there is less worldwide, we are they're .

going to charge more. yeah. And I mean, i'm sure the conversation right now is happening at intel. Like should we fast tract trying to move production back to amErica for their chips, but I don't know how much that will at the end of the day, affect the Price of their chips and .

and how fast can a fast track. But I think all too often, people like, well, let's move something, whatever and it's like to stand take three years .

yeah who knows how you're still stuck on T S M C for um if they want to get off quickly, which I don't know in all other situations, I think staying on tmc would be fine. But who knows now technical .

rights and and says how much supplied europe in the U K. Get of the ninety hundred thirty or meta has a loads left if you check on mine IT seems to be completely have stock in the U. K.

I mean, I don't write, so let me see here. Yeah, I accidently combined my says I don't have an exact number, but more than usual, once you account. Customs issues, which that was a thing a lot of people overlooked as some massive shipment of one thousand nine hundred hundred excites were stuck in U.

K. costumes. Um but I mean, I saw people in mind saying I got one IT didn't seem like an ampere situation where one person on edit at one of the VR lash video, everyone else was like, what is a little more to so IT wasn't a paper launch.

I could hearing this from everyone did IT was not a paper launch. IT was a pretty typical launch in europe. I mean antidotal ally and IT is kind of antic dotal.

But I I I get the feeling that there was plenty of stock in eastern europe compared to usual for the ninety hundred. Actually I know why that would be, but there was um and that the U K. Got hit harder than most of the E U.

For a multitude factors including that customs issue. But I still seem like a pretty typical lodge in most regions. Crazy high volume launch in the united states and a later launch in the U.

K. Because of the customs issues. But once that solved a mediocre launching, high volume eu, mediocre U K, super high in the us. Is how I would characterize IT.

Um SHE lot lot for right and says I don't see why many should go to seven, five as a whole the way things are now unless of course you wish to rid yourself of the problems of that for no, those were would you recommend that people wait, present six and do you have any information to help powful? Six will be prepared and five h there has been a multitude six weeks out of the channel. I don't even know how to put a specific one up.

Just search then six on mars. Laws dead especially they may do so one um but yeah I mean at a minimum i've seen ten percent higher ipc the target since leaking that ah i've been told the third we doing the memory controller basically. So I I kind of expect like a then five like performance uplift, uh we'll see what that means. What mean twenty percent in application, five percent in gaming? Again, I don't know might be fifteen and fifteen and ten, I don't know what I will be, but I expect at least as in five level increase for gaming, which is exciting and maybe more cause um but what I wait for seven, six I mean, again, this this question of waiting, it's like we've kind of told you .

not to now yeah, I was about to just say me that this thing we just talked about, like if you're thinking about upgrading, no, I wouldn't IT lls and six I would get is then four of fast and what you're already on or then five like a thousand eight hundred x three day. So I don't know. I think this is two CPU to get right now the seventy eight hundred or the ninety eight hundred eighty if they're available to you. And then there's a laundry list of other cpas that I would recommend below that too. But yeah and .

remember then six um it's going to become I liked that you know it's going to become paddle with I am five. So I don't think there's really as much of a worry.

I mean get in ninety eight hundred eighty you came if you came on, I mean look the ninety seven hundred x you know like what twenty five thirty percent week er in gaming twenty thirty percent, let's say and it's that much cheaper at least I mean they going for like three hundred box right now I mean just get ninety seven hundred six call the day um and then when then six comes out, at least be able to sell that I bet on the other mark for one fifty and you know whatever you spent one fifty dollars more than you would have natchally and have this for a year or two. I'd say they don't wait at this point if you need IT if you don't, our devices always probably away. Um okay, now let us move on.

Then two story number four, right let's see here I I just titled the summary of in video A P, O looks because i've been like chocolate out leaks of that new A P O in video guo coming to first some quote tweet town reported on my stuff and then just out onto IT ah here go in n video is developing its first consumer A P O, with gaining performance that is comparable to a sixty five. What R T X forty seventy laptop GPU and targeting amities upcoming strict hail A P roughly in performance and capabilities of all this ARM base processor seems to launch in final light laptops within a couple of years of the power of up to eighty watch total. That's right from our sources.

We learn key details of an A, P, U and video hopes to push out by the end of twenty twenty five, very minimum. Twenty twenty six. That surprised me a lot by we heard probably twenty six. Seems like they want to beat sound away from A M D, which is an r map of the market, and be able to compete with the first halo edition, not medusa, but actually strict.

Halo and IT should basically be forty, seventy laptop performance for the GPU, a CPU that's decent, but unlikely to beat what trick halo has using off the shelf ish ARM cars, but maybe consume twenty percent less power and have a powerful NPC. So yeah, expect a little bit lower performance overall and strict halo but lower power. And if someone can fix windows on ARM, it's probably in video. What do you think what they said? A live stream worried a lot of these details that drops some more during the .

inx gamer broken silicon. Uh, I mean, I I think having a new entry into the market for C P U. And is kind of important.

And this is at least to signal that that's where in video is going. A with intel filing call com being kind of lacklustre, we need something. And if they can deliver this by the end of twenty twenty five, I think that looks will look pretty, pretty good. Be pretty good if it's gets pushed to like later twenty twenty six, it's going to be be kind .

of underwhelming. But I think so performs.

I should say, performance well if he doesn't have turn a lot of the ARM bugs that paul come had IT, should I I think that will be great if it's uh, correctly placed at the right Price point in video has a history of being biotic that but I don't know we can cross our fingers yeah you know .

this would be a good time um to plug that we just did a die shrink. Of course, you get access to that for just two dollars a months of the last year patron where me and you talked about what we wanted and answered questions from patrons about what they expect and want out of the NVIDIA. A P.

O. And it's unna, I believe. And tell me if your opinion is is not what i'm characterising here, but at least for me, I started the episode thinking, look at in video, they are probably going to charge a bunch of money and pretenders, an apple, a po.

But then I realized, well, they are party with alien where that's not. That's for gamers. And invidia knows that the greatest mindshare g force, I kind of, over the course of the episode, convinced myself that actually maybe they won't overcharged for this.

If IT had R T X forty ninety performance. I go, oh, there's shooting for m for enterprising and stuff yeah. But they're not.

It's forty seventy launching as soon as possible. And I get laptop, forty, seventy. So forty, sixty, T I, and in most o EMS i've spoke with expected to just barely under perform strict halos. Gp of all, I when I hear that I go, I don't know, maybe in video is planning to launch some one thousand and fifty hundred dollars ID range gaming in A B O, like that would be the way to enter the market .

yeah and if they're only going to achieve forty sixty ideas of performance or get closed a strict hello and .

maybe even just forty, sixty days top, if it's you like, a sixty, five hundred, forty.

seventy laptop and with a CPU, that's probably kind of lackluster for a lot of applications but is good enough for gaming. Uh, with a GPU that powerful, they really can't justify a super high Price point. I'm not saying it's going to be like six of your box, but I can't imagine that would be more than twelve, maybe thirteen hundred for in most models like her to succeed.

yeah. So that's what i'm hoping. And if there is a lot of bug fixes or there's I I should probably just say you were compatibility issue because as generally the issue, if there's fewer compatibility issues that a call com has or crossing my fingers.

they just get rid of them.

Show yeah I I think this could be uh really good first generation for a in video of partnering on an A P O. So I don't know if someone hopeful and I don't necessarily love that video might be the next big entrance into the CPU market just because of how big of a company they are. But competition is Better than no competition.

Yeah yeah. And I think this is well within those in first technology, within video's ARM project coming out in late twenty twenty five, you kept comparing IT district halo.

However, if the intel is just downplaying panter like because they don't want any more over high money about that like they had for media like an area, could I need to send six being pulled closer? How well would meddles a halo compete with this invidia? A, B, O, I even confirm performance here, but I heard some wild things.

I think we do. The halo is gonna a lot faster than tricks. hello. So yeah, I mean, I think that's another reason. They are probably trying to launch this as soon as possible. If they can launch this half a year, a year before reduce the halo comes out um then I think this can do OK, but I think they know that reduce the hell would crush .

this thing yeah and if I were to come out close to or just before around when like me do saho comes out, I don't think you would get terrible reviews just because it's is the first of a new thing. But I don't think there would be a great going reviews for IT because probably like .

healthy energies yeah if it's .

way more efficient than what we were hearing now. sure. But if this is what IT isn't IT releases against medo saho, it's probably nothing other than good jobs. Sport, you'll you'll do Better next time .

yeah which I don't think in video. Hello Jenny, someone who likes to hear good jobs sport. He heard .

that once when he was eight and he's been ramazan for the entire of his probably .

probably something like that um with these types but yeah I mean and I think you know the more we talked about IT too, it's like in that diction we just put out IT is just obvious like in videos looking and seeing intel laptop market share look very precarious. A M D is launching a flurry of A P S. Every year, going for IT hard and call comes fall in flat so far, but made some of the ground's work for windows on ARM working.

I think can video realize us now now, now, now, now because we cannot let em d take the entire laptop market because they might take eighty percent of IT over the next four years if in video isn't there right away. And again, even if empty takes most of the laptop like, you know, consumer market, I think in videos is going, yeah. But if intel s collapse, even if we get ten, twenty percent of that pie, that's great revenue growth for us.

So that is why they want to do IT as soon as possible. Um P R T D B me right. And he says i'm skeptical of invidia s chance is of making windows on our work. As i'm sure previously pointed out before, microsoft had more than ten years to get windows on our working well. Meanwhile, we have not seen any signs of that are working well with coal com as they stumbled into the market.

In comparison, value is proved on in twenty eighteen and in three years, gaming on legs approved tremendously so that when volver announce the team that can twenty twenty one, I knew even by then that at least the software behind IT should work well. And there's just never been a successful proof of concept yet for windows on ARM working, especially in gaming, when half of cocos games list are lies, which is termine people called as a list of games that work well, half of them don't with some of the device sane, take my game off that list. But he says there's a suffer lining, though every researchers and hobby will love this thing because we will run, stop.

They always used to run with kuta. For professionals, this A P, U, should allow them have an actual portable AI workstation, reasonable power efficiency, and let them run out on a bare metal. Will rely on cloud computing.

IT will be a true a ipc trademark. simple? yeah. I mean, I think that's a very good point as well and something where I do not expect their CPU in the IPO to be remote, this powerful, strict sailor.

But as long as IT doesn't get in the way, I think that's a really compelling argument is ham. And we got in video in an A P O with a great N P O. And if you're hardware, if you're developer, you're compiling a lot of self, write a lot of code.

ARM works fine right now. This is your are this is your AI development PC. So I think they're really an avenue here that into getting some level of success even if it's not perfect in a way that calm just to have any argument. Yeah, there is no reason to go to go on for anything except that should be cheaper or useless energy. They don't have any of the AI or in video brand recognition that well that in .

video has yeah and two is point about like, well, proton improved over three years. I mean, that's a software thing so that I think you are got more likely to see gradual improvement over time, whether this is there is only so many hardware releases every year and and we don't really have a trend line yet to see how much Better it's getting. It's getting as this big pushed by microsoft to say happening.

So I think it's fair to be skeptical of new product companies getting into new a trying to get into a new markets. The last two times that I happened, it's kind of been a wet fart, but there is always the first time that IT works. So I don't know yeah I wouldn't bet in video is going to be dominant in CPU and three years, obviously. But a mader success, I don't think is would be sharking, which is kind of what i'm expecting lot your right.

Then he says really daring one thirty eight. And video working on linux would be a feasible possibility. I actually think this is something that seen, discuss a lot, the more as laws that discord is.

Like, what if in video, I actually launches their own invidious of ubon to or something and just side steps windows, because they know what does that work. But because i've spoken directly with an invidia employee that show me portions of their source, go library, they actually run everything native on new bono. And when I was told that has been that way for more than ten years.

So maybe they are laying the groundwork for two editions of IT. Hey, the windows, the armon windows have fun addition. Or actually we've optimized a destroy linux .

for in video. And the only way I could imagine that working though, and I think we discuss that all about the dice drink is like in video, would really need to push their desta hard because there is how many decades now of out of brand recognition for windows, like thirty years. I don't know, not know when the first remember when the first distroyed dows came out, but that spin synonymous with pcs for, like my entire life, I mean, the first home computer we had was an IBM computer, but it's been windows ever since then. Windows or max ever since then.

no. And nothing's going to make me route for in video harder. Then if they actually start making real competition against, I mean, nothing, nothing on earth what i'd be like in video time.

No rights could in video use the next switch tagro as an I three or I five competence if an video goes into, if IT came out two years ago, sure, not sure. Like like there was an eight animal kinds steam deck performance. Apo, yeah, I think that would have been great.

And like five hundred million laptops two years ago, but it's just been too long. It's outdated, like they would be Better to just make their own. And i've heard they're working on several s like some working with media tech, but then also working on own premium and mid range version.

So I know they're going to make their own version. The time for them to do that would have been when IT was actually um what is IT not relative say when I was actually relevant architecture is not amp or plus and I mean it's it's just too outside. But now and also I would say from what I I mean, intendo doesn't like IT when you use their stuff for anything. So no, I don't think for that reason alone, that would have happened for those reason.

For those reasons you out a, for those reasons out, carver, what does an NVIDIA APP mean for the possibility of intel using NVIDIA gp tiles? Or has been an obstacle to that possibility that we've discussed before? Or will in video provide GPU to into similar to their partnership with media attack? Um I would definitely say this suggests that in video, a doesn't expect to be providing tiles to enter the next two years.

Yeah but I mean, these companies are competitors if a good but if a good deal for a partnership comes along, I don't know why in video would say no, I just don't think that's where it's going and I think tell us is going to keep using their GPU tiles and house for, I don't know, at least another couple generations, right?

I think so for sure. So yeah, I mean, I think this would tell you that not that much really carbon cricket because yeah, like he said then, I mean, I could see in video making their own A P S and selling tiles to enter the same time. I mean, what why not? But at at the same time, if they are rushing this out this quickly, this tells you short term, their intention is that just to take market here um alright, let's see here. So let us know, move on.

Two story number five, in video reportedly vining down R, T, X forty series production coding for us from board channels, uh, according to the latest news from upstream and tells sources in video has completely withdrawn the eighty one of six production line for the forty sixty everybody and will not forty sixty T I and the production capacity has been fully transfers of the artist fifty series production line with only the eighty one of seven line temporary retained uh forth to forty sixty uh therefore the artist forty years GPU has into the final quarter of inventory clearance and the arctic forty mid to high and serious GPU has gradually some production supply, which i've reported that they were the end of production on the hot top. And switching has been accelerated so ago. Although do not forget that this channel has reported in video with shipping black well into the U.

S. In november as well in anticipation of avoiding tariffs as well next year. My belief, I leaked that.

What was that I was during one of the one of the recent lucas, I think the one worried lake painter like details. So I have to say this. I have heard that NVIDIA is already right now shipping in black.

Well, that they are always going to whether they launch at this year or not. And at a minimum, i've gotta say, I expect ordinate four and black. Well, if not, have a paper launch to december or maybe a real launch out of nowhere.

Who knows? I bet they rush out of launch in january. I bet they do. Yeah.

I mean, we've been covering this for a while and this place into our coverage over the last several years. Onest ly, like there is a huge overproduction of r DNA two and amp, don't want that to happen again. I I mean, I want to be surprised if, uh, this generation is a lot more like turning off involve and turning on another except if you know like maybe the forty sixty, which you will be the forty sixty successor will probably be one of, if not the thing to launch.

Make a little longer.

keep that going a little while longer. That's also, I would suspect, supposed to be a high volume thing, although in this market, I don't know what is high value.

Feels like is 6。

Um so yeah I I mean, I think that makes sense a and just don't bet on love being on the market for a thousand years after after the generation is over like we saw with the empty yeah .

especially because again and i've leaked this, there was plans at first to have black well, I believe me, at least half of not all three animator than IT switched to mostly four nanometer did. And I don't know what I was I remember anymore six months ago or more. They are just like that is really about year ago, they decided all for the animator.

So this is something kind of like enford is in five, where they can pretty effortlessly just say, now make this because it's almost the same note effectively IT is in terms of like the the resources use kind of the contracts. So yeah, I really don't expect a lovely to be around that long um x my body league that high end is done now IT seems that the low end is being wound down. And I mean, yeah, I think we'll just have to see, but I don't think that really matters with the black well in ordinary for launch in december or if they launch in january, mean, look, we're more than half way through november as of when this episode will come out.

And it's still, to me, feels like if there's a launch this year, it's gonna be a very rush paper thing. And yeah, what we're really gonna im to do is probably tears or show IT off and announce a claunch, but i'm really suspected it's gonna a big launch. I don't I don't I get the feeling because of the worry about terrorists, probably both empty and in video.

And as we'll get too soon, maybe even intel are going to go though IT really is launching for the first. Have you any and we're going to try to shop everything out in one month. So and so that it's both before the chinese new year but also before troops are possibly implemented.

So we'll see there. I might just really be a rush for the door and trying to get your GPU quarter one of this year. It's kind of what of twenty twenty five.

That's kind of what I am expecting. Oh yeah, I mean, and if we wanted a if I wanted a big launch this year, um we would have needed the launch like what two weeks ago can be this year anymore. So I guess big january launch, hopefully they're not rushing and hopefully not very bugging, but that's what that could be built towards. Well, on that note.

I can't speak for NVIDIA. Maybe I should ask about this, but I can say that i've been told that R D, N, A force premier done, you know so i'm not really worried about being bugged right now. Back is technically out in the psy pro to a certain .

degree yeah and there's only two dies this time around. So and AMD is at least saying that there's becoming a software company. So hopefully these issues become less common of them.

Yeah so again, I just bring that up shopping advice. I wouldn't hesitate to build the P. C. now. And if you see a seventy nine hundred X, T for six hundred or less, seventy eight hundred X T i've seen those for like born hundred dollars.

Sometimes I don't think you're beat in seventy eight hundred texts for four hundred dollars with our DNA four. But if you are looking for anything above the seventy nine hundred X T, I really wouldn't buy now though. Yes, and I would just have your money in your bank account for january to buy a good it's a really weird time where it's like timing.

The market is actually a thing. Um but I just yeah you're getting a forty eighty super or forty ninety. Just think you're going na feel pretty silly after the stuff comes up. But if you're buying a low and card, no, I mean, look, that they've been said they're going to keep making the forty sixty for the time being.

And I mean, you see a good deal on that now getting that and throwing that in some discounts and system before Prices go up is is I think, a very wise decision. Um alright, let us now continue the GPU discussion with story number six. Some sort of battle mage launch is apparently happening in december has been moment for a bit.

But a couple days ago, Thomas garon ski on twitter related what appears to be marketing materials that indicate intelsat some sort of launch to revealed a battle made in december of this year. And I actually have a quote here that i'm going to read. I can also independently confirm this when our sources we shout to me over the weekend and said, by the way, I was just notified that until will be brief ing people about battle mage before the end of november in preparation for some sort of launch happening in december.

They really want to be able to claim they didn't fail their road map. Um and so yeah I mean, some sort of launch or claimed launch is going going to happen in december ever. I do want people to consider the following things.

Number one, I reach out to a ibs today. We started recording at least the ones I got to hold of. Not all of them.

Maybe I, I don't know, maybe blind spot, maybe on monday, they are all going to email me and say, in this happens. I was wrong, I know, but at least I was a friday, nothing, nothing about about age to this day. They don't know when it's launching, they don't know to expect. So I I don't know.

I think like i've been saying over and over all year, I think intel's gonna claim some sort of paper launch in december, it's probably going to mostly be some limited edition low volume thing, especially because point number two here again, pat gilson has literally confirmed in earnings that they plan to wine down dedicator graphics and not focus on the much in the future. And also don't forget that I this channel recently leaked the performance and aspects of battle age. They are looking kind of like an eight, seven, seventy situation again.

Yes, if IT launched a year ago, that might be good, but it's can be launching next to black win ordinate four and we'll be relegated to mid or low end. Performance once again. And so yeah, there you go.

And as usual, I have noticed a lot of the press, and I do use that term very lightly here, trying decimal taio. Sly claimed that archaism dead will ignoring the fact that a ib. Still no idea, battle mages and patch basically just confirmed that battle age is the swan song of ark.

But consider that the arrow lake launch wasn't a launch, right? Remember they said it's launching like I remember what day and then came out weeks later. The media like launch was december thirty first of twenty twenty two.

That wasn't a lage to me. IT seems obvious that intel doing what they need in order to claim to investors. They haven't missed yet. Another milestone. So what you think .

dam um on shelves march, whatever they said without comments, I mean I could easily see a being another one of those situations um or maybe I don't know. Do you think there's any potential that is just getting some bs laptop on something? Is there now? No, I only remember .

that it's not comment.

Yeah, I don't know archias just a disappointment all around. And I guess we're gonna one. Hopefully less crappy died than what the eight, seven, seventy was on desk cup.

Yeah I mean, you know, I hear battle mate should be Better than what alchemist was for its time. The drivers again, it's intel guys don't should we will see I I don't know the right, but you should work Better IT should have less issues.

But I think we have to also consider the battle age is going to be entering into a very hostile to GPU market with tons of like ampere ordinary two, ordinary three and by lovely cards on the market, whether it's new or used for discount. And also A M, D drivers have gotten really good. I mean, in many ways, I can think they're Better than the video now, although invidia did have the new official and video APP come out and his way more stable than the g four experience was, I can tell.

So that's good. But still that doesn't change my point. In videos, drivers have gotten even Better. AMD have got ten even Better in video has deal as us, three point eight touches came out AMD as if are four around the corner. Is there a competitive version of X, Y super sapling? And do they really have any version of shadow play or relive that's competitive? I just feel like if battle mage comes out and IT works well, it's just still going to have fAllen behind that much more in software compared rated on in a video because they just don't have the money at the fun that anymore well and it's like if it's a forty seventy for four hundred dollars, the seventy eight hundred X T already there. I don't know.

I mean, an intel is still Frankly playing catch up to them. So I don't know why this wouldn't be more of a game of catch up anyways. The only way I could imagine this being a product worth buying as if it's Price like really, really competitive.

Ly forty seventy for three hundred box.

Yeah and then maybe but like you said, there's how they afford that.

I think it's foreign animal. It's yeah it's like they would be losing money. So I don't like .

at that point even if theyve already have them IT produced like that, the only reason you would want to sell them. But like, I don't know this, I don't expect anything impressive. Va, and this is going to be based on this report here.

This is going to be a weird non launch that they claim as a launch. Like how many times has intelligence that now in the past three years, like it's kind of a habit of entitled to call a press release a launch, uh, and that's not what a launch is. Yeah and again.

just to say this again, because I have to because I know they're be annoying people the comments my initial arc effectively cancelled LED video said there would be a battle mage launch I said there still will be and that there's just one dialect for celestial and pats already confirm their winding down GPU it's all going as I expected a crazy mess arc uh, alchemist battle age wipers out late, which IT is, li said, twenty, twenty three, twenty twenty four.

What if IT comes out in december? I mean, look, that they missed when they said I was going to come out and this I even coming to laptop and then we'll see what happens with that. There is any celestino celestino. Could be interesting if this were to sell well, but I just don't see that happening. So it's it's all going to how I expected to as much as you could expect anything.

Do you think that slide from a few years ago with the enthusiast performance by like twenty, twenty four or whatever or three?

I think I let me pulled up.

They still going to say.

just put on screen to for .

pets we were playing yeah I mean.

they said that they were going to basically been enthusiast with alchemist and that battle mage would touch ultra enthusiast and that celestial would be above ultra thusia with ultra, ultra enthusiasm.

What that means? We're reinventing the ninety classroom ard from a video atam. That's what they're proposing by now.

But like just put that in perspective, people, they said they would be an ultra thusia's between twenty three and twenty four or the end of twenty four when battle mages announce. So I should look at that and go that a forty ninety competitor because in needs at least be that considering it's going to be competing with the fifty nine. And the answer is no.

they've missed their goals. What they meant time is at forty ninety using one hundred watts. That's what they were saying.

Well, using in three hundred .

or using very comparison time. Definitely what the man.

if they did put a slight of they're like that would be amazing or they're like these forty matches the forty nine and then the fine print lapped up petition. Um alright, let us know. Move on here to one of the final stories with story number.

P S 5 pro releases to favorable reviews and impressive sales coding first from game and then again, a little bit editorial aliza. Early reports indicate that the PS 8 pro is selling just as well as the PS four pro, which was a reasonable released in twenty sixteen. As reported by ga ozu, the P S five pro sold around thirteen thousand units more than the P S four pro did at launch in japan.

Sarana analyst matt pss. Cartelli rights also revealed that the new council sold units in the same ballpark as appears for rose lodge in the united states, indicating a similar degree of success. And so this announce the same IT looks like SONY placide fy pro Price experience succeeded at least at launch. Psy pro is showing impressive sales in the U. S.

Japan and meeting or exceeding launch sales of the P, S 5 pro。 We will see if P S, 5 pro continues with this momentum in the coming months。 But at least right now, with the elected or not, IT seems like people air willing to pay seven hundred dollars for a console, and this may be therefore the Price of the police station six.

Or if you don't want to pay the mr. P good news, you can turn to scalpers who are selling IT for below M S R P. Well, because they take took a loss and they did not expect the stock to be the high.

This means that the M S R P is probably as high as people can stomach, though if scalers aren't able to sell for more, I would agree with that. P, S, by pro also released a pauses reviews IT delivers on the promises made by SONY, with most games running in faster and nicer than PS five. And the pcs are offering Better quality upscale than fr two, but not quite as good as deal.

Asus IT really does depend on the game. But at a minimum, I had a whole podcast with an example where we discuss our findings with the p5 pro, and we could conclude that there are definitely scenarios with the psy pro crushes the sixty eight hundred and performance IT. Also its CPU is seemingly not really ever a bottle ic.

But for racing to be impressive to to NVIDIA IT needs we optimize for R D na for even if it's unopposed zed at crushes, r DNA to retracing in performance for aster. But compared to in video, IT really does depend on the game with on wake to making IT a great relative to the p five and r DNA to, but not good relative to in video. So yeah, I mean, I had a whole long discussion like basically an hour of the last episode with an extreme we don't need to regenerate all that.

But you also APS5 pro I think would be worth discussing。 I mean, it's part of this new cycle down. What do you think of IT?

I mean, I don't think everyone should get one. I think this is a thing for people that like playstation. Playstation a lot quality of life is just Better than the P.

S. Five base all around. Everything is consistently higher frame rates, a more stable frame rates and lighting across the board is prety much Better in every game. If you don't care about gaming and fork though, definitely don't get IT or because I think this is point this for you yeah I mean, I like you a lot so far and having all that story is pretty nice.

A surprisingly, the storage things actually pretty big course. We could have gotten some other D A while ago and throwing that in there. But having a base, the main necessity be really fast up to terrible. It's the difference between that and eight hundred or or even a thousand giga bites is you can install like fifty games now and yeah .

it's that .

is nice yeah I don't know. I mean, I think if you have the money, the psi pro should be bought by someone who doesn't have a play station yet is what I would to suggest because hear me out like, right, so are you going to spend a depends how you wanted point IT? But like, I know, let's even just do without risks.

So the four fifty or less do with this. So five hundred, uh, or or actually they discuss version is about three eighty will will get to that the rap up um so I guess yeah three eighty or seven hundred so that's an extra three hundred and twenty dollars that's a lot more um for something that is theoretically sometimes double the performance but sometimes just twenty to thirty percent faster. But IT does come with a significantly more storage IT does is just a little snaps er in the OS IT does um have five, seven and likely Better USB output all like all these little .

updates instead that is notice way Better too like I mean games. Do you just download Foster on this then they on .

the PS five days. so. If you're someone that is fine with the frame rate being sixty being below sixty actually even if you're someone who does like four k thirty, the peace five is capable of four thirty very easily yeah um if you're someone that doesn't care about that or you don't really care about the resolution, yeah maybe just get three hundred and eight dollar base. P S, five.

I mean, that's a lot cheaper, you know but if you're someone that has money to burn, it's like how many game and you and for me, it's like, are you someone that isn't enthusiast? The games a lot, a lot, a lot. Are you someone who buys like you know three games a month? There's something or or even like just plays games because I think I play a little less actually.

You know a major reason I have this is just kind of rewarding myself for the end of the year because band we bust our asses this year time for the channel or or because I just can. But it's like if you're someone that plays what i'm trying to says, I don't like play like twenty four hours a week and anymore like I did what I was in college um but if you're someone who does play like four hours a night, um you know you're probably buying a lot of games. You're gonna buy spend how much in games over the course of the generation.

I'd say that this person you should get this yeah but if you're someone that's pretty happy with what you got, you don't need IT. You really don't. It's more the way I put IT to the performance is compared to the P S four pro.

The media or the average is higher than the P S. Four process up. Lift the average because every game is that every game, I mean, every game just performs Better. Like I was surprised that unpatched turnout because as the dynamic resolution just looks like you just White vaseline off the screen and never drop frame rates anymore. Like whereas with the PS four pro, okay, some games were like crazy Better performance but IT still had that weak CPU and never got a .

patch and then you have like rockstar barely like barely of proof red dead adoption to yeah like well.

they gave you a much Better resolution but yeah I mean, it's i'm sorry, the frame rates the thing. So the average uplift I actually think is Better than the P S. Four pro, but the medium is lower like the games or thirty percent Better like any game that's unpassed just like twenty well, not any elder ring notice doubling in some areas in quality of which crazy really like maybe a seventy percent outlook, but like but you don't need a pass for IT to be noticeable because of how many games of dynamics resolutions, how many times remove the frame drop.

I got the PS four to p four pro going from sometimes dropping to twenty eight frames to being locked at thirty wasn't nearly as noticeable to sometimes dropped to forty five frames and now being locked at sixty years or something um but so yeah I don't know it's the crazy examples aren't is crazy this time around, but everything's Better. So if you game a lot, I think it's worth in that regard. But IT is definitely not I must have yeah .

I would agree with that. I I mean yeah it's for enthusiasm for if you want to actually get high frame rates closer to what was casually being promised that nobody would expect them to actually meet when the councils first came out or when this generation first launched. But yeah, definitely not essential. Not everyone needs to go back out by A P S. Five pro now.

And I think a lot of this is also like our recommended is going to hand on just does IT like how many games keep getting patched because it's a little disappointing. How many were patched at first year is like really elderly ism that could probably benefit the most. Like I played around with the settings.

It's very clear to me that, that they filled with a couple settings and atop S R, you could probably do four cast six year rate tracing, but they haven't um and i'll be interesting to see what happens when developers really try to leverage IT more than just checking boxes because from what i've talking to developers, even the games like that are probably showcase games like resent evil eight. Where IT goes from like in the fork retracing mode, say IT goes from like fork forty five four k fifty to four k one hundred kind of um wow what an update. Um but you know even then i'm told they basically just checked box and enabled the defauts settings to boost IT.

They didn't like go in and i've told you can compile the shares and optimize a few things fitted with rain and this, but few developers have done that so far. It'll be interesting to see what happens two month, three, like six months for now. And every game was built from the ground up to at least leverage IT, if not optimize for a little bit.

You know like I think people may be surprised that is properly optimize. More of them will double performance and need to expect if not optimized. It's like twenty to fifty, sixty percent or something.

Um alright, let us know. Move on to story number eight, a big quick one, but think we got to talk about IT pills. Penser confirms the x box and be going from that power up.

In a recent interview with bloomberg, penser confirmed that microsoft is working on the next box handheld, although he was very careful not to to not over promise or provide any firm release states going so far as to confirm that an expert hand held is still years away from release. Also, that puts to rest anything that the rushing IT out right away. I thought some, some crazy rumors I got's coming out next year but yeah, no way. Uh but so they are making IT. They are making the next box and on I think he also hinted IT that there will probably be a main concern, though not a hundred .

percent sure yeah. I mean, what the existence of stem back and all the other successful handheld things, gaming devices that makes sense, that microsoft of things, this might be the time for us to try to push into hand held, I mean, reserving judgment from a lot of what else x max is put out recently. And if its decently Price and as good specks, I think this thing could be cool.

I get they actually get a good mobile version of windows running on IT or whatever they do. Uh yeah cool. That makes sense that microsoft wants to get their own base version of the handheld market .

going to yeah, I think IT just depends on how they do IT. You know you got ta wonder if you're going to do some ARM device. It's actually weaker than expected, and it's really just means of streaming x cloud.

I don't know, I I really don't know if anybody um but you know i'll be interesting because zone's working on a hand help too like where this might go next um to me yeah don't have much to say confirms the rumors that I know we're out there that they were working on a hand held ah but at the same time, this comes in conjunction with the analysis. Basically everything is in a place. And I think I even saw that look into the sound of the rapper, but I believe there's something like they basically admitted halos coming to police station as well.

To me all this is they're just twenty next box into sea. They're just like more ways to play, the Better. But we're done directly competitive. I think what people understand is them going for a hand held, that's the doubling DNA. They just want game pass every where it's not really about new experiences or directly competing generation like in the traditional .

generation idea how microsoft kind of Operates, right? Like they oh this this foreign tor is getting a lot of is getting a lot of steam right now. Let's put out our own thing.

Uh, all right. So let us now move on to the rap up. These are stories that a we thought are worth discussing.

We don't require their own conversation. So number one, we really mention IT the P A place to five slim drops the Price. I thought I should be the whole time, which is to say around three hundred and eighty dollars.

Why three eighty? On the one hand, where x box to be competed in, well, I actually think I should be three, twenty nine, three thousand by an ours that you can get to described with IT for four hundred. I mean, that's what I think you really win over the stubbing people on PS four that are like i'm not get in and tells cheap er than four hundred dude.

Um at the same time though, I think we have to acknowledge that microsoft continues to try to sell before time flop series s for three hundred and fifty dollars. And from that perspective, I just don't know how zoned does a word charging ten percent more than their council. That's a third of performance. You can even run some games now like I just on principal, we're charging ten percent more.

Yeah, it's a positive development.

This is merge and stay, by the way, in my opinion.

Yeah, I mean, I feel like these right holiday Price cuts are a lot of the time just soft launches on a new Price. So I would give up a prety good chance that that does just stay at three years after this.

I'm not saying a willer won't. I think I should and I like I think it's the right thing sounds we're right thing to do yeah but I microsoft .

insistence on keeping the series as at three hundred fifty dollars as baffling to me. But I guess that's just how hard war works these days as Price drops generally don't happen.

IT should be two forty nine in my option. If you want to get game pass, put this console. Meet ten gabbles of rain. Put this council at a Price that where people go into a war and go to fifty, oh my god, and then give them like coffee or game pass for free with that and try to hook them like that what they should be doing yeah, as long as three fifty. I don't know why.

Sone, I mean, really, why would SONY charge the same Price for place station five? Um T, S, M C cannot legally manufactured tunny eto in the united states. A carper cried a little right.

Appear for two for coding from the taipei times. Taiwanese law limits domestic chip makers to produce chips abroad that are at least one generation less advance in their fabs at home, T S M C told investors in july. Its next generation, a sustainable, is to into blind production in the second half of twenty twenty six after ramping up production of two anemia chips next year.

So I don't know that's really interesting to see that going on. And after one one to happen, if T, S, M, C, will finally repeal that or if they won't. Dr, if they used as leverage. Cy, no.

we're not repealing that. Yeah, I don't know. I think I think T S M C and or taiwan because taiwan is a tc adding taiwan really I I think taiwan wants that wants to be able to play that card for as long as possible.

Yeah, I just think it's still worth mentioning because they're building advanced fabs in united states. Technically they are law would prohibit using them right away here. But uh, also clear water forest might get ada matting or some form of zon. Well, I guess pat gell singer in an earnings call and now that mountain is finally coming, but not to game in to z on first.

I mean, I don't have any thoughts on this. I guess at is indeed a thing.

IT is finally a thing, by the way, exclusively leagued by this channel. Sometimes I forget this. I'm like, where did I exclusively like that IT was actually the same video where the strict silo.

oh, really that's funny.

That video was like, crazy long and have like a forty seventy supply update, man and track sail that I think this one of those things like I was like putting this whole thing together and was like what I god to tell them about strack tao too so just balloon and door those giant videos but yeah another mos laws that they confirmed finally um also we have A M D bizarre naming schemes continue. Uh this league comes from golden upgrade pig Billy liquor with pretty good track record who says they're gonna go with eighty sixty s for the name of the graphics .

in strict alo you I wonder if there's just a rule at AMD where guys we need to change branding every every two to three generations can't let longer. No, can't do IT. And hey, that has the added effect of IT kind of sounds like an invidia GPT. Some people people will buy IT.

Yeah, maybe it's just a fricking stupid anyways. And I fish ring write in if the strict hail igp is really going to be named eighty sixty s why can't eighty secret, namely seem s more than a few years? And laptop, this seems for I I don't know. I think it's stupid.

AMD doesn't know how to be a company that's in a good position.

They do what we keeps saying IT until doesn't know how to be number two. amb. Doesn't know how to be number one. Also, I don't this was here in the rap up. There are some reports that intel is matching AMD and integrated graphics performance.

But carper cry, I did a bit of an analysis on this and found that lunar lakes GPU slight edge is only really at twenty eight watts when the C. P. S.

Taking up a lot of that power budget. And most tests are actually won or tied by strikes. There's a few outlier skin, uh, skin, the gaming. So I know I put that in the rap up and carbon cry actually ducked into the data and just wanted to make IT very clear. It's third tide battle, major strict I G P U performers, time technology.

Ts, in what if art was just a 3d chest move to force game dips to support intel I G P S and games serving the driver issues, the asm and seven had. This is also like improve, gaining performance on the igp s two. No, there is no 3d chest moves here。 Art just didn't pan out as well .

as they wanted to tell his three d chess falling and releasing a bunch of bad products. It's all, it's all part of their bigger plan. Pater lake is going to come back and read the best product of all time. They've learned. They've learned from all of their mistakes from rater lake, alchemist battle area lake.

They were on area lake. And I could hear the argument that this is kind of what they're trying to do. But if that were to be what they are trying to do, um I gotta say then they should have done one die, one, one nine, two bit die, uh, and then shot that out for two fifty, three hundred and just keep doing that.

But the fact they try to do multiple dies, and again, they told me they want to to beat the thirty seventy. T I. That wasn't their goal.

There's no 3 test here。 I don't mind the idea of that strategy, but they didn't do that and they're still not really doing that. A battle just make one die that works until put IT at a reasonable Price and save money.

But this is not what you're doing ah um right one more reader mail here, a inviable chief right and says tom on this question, where are you going to get up twitter and ex enjoy blue sky or masdar? I don't know. I mean, it's something I could see happening and I mean, x has been ruined, you know, like it's but for tech news and spreading tech news, IT still seems to work fine.

So for my purposes, you know, as long as that continues to seems to be able to working well and i'm going to stay on there for now. But I have heard from people that have switched to other alternatives that they might work Better. And if I start to see the numbers there be far, far, far Better for the channel, then yeah maybe I switch. I mean, a lot of IT is I don't want to switch unless I switch because I don't want have to manage .

a hundred things at once. You don't want to do what three social media promotional.

no. And like this is a deliberate choice for more is less debt. We want to be a lean company. Me, dan, then we now have jr.

He was getting up to like, oh that full time he's getting up there and like I have, i'm paying them to do a lot of work now. Um and then next to the carbon cries being brought on more and more to help out with stuff and being paid as well. I like IT that way.

I don't i'm not on float playing or bb or rumble or blue develop because i'm on patron. I managed patriot go there. I'm on youtube.

I manage youtube. I'm not on NBA law, vimeo. I'm here here and an R S S. Feed and then I post also to twitter and eventually if I posted something else, I might but I want to do that because that's the one that I manage but that's where .

I am yeah and I mean, I don't know the podcast I listen to, i'm hearing more often that they are on blue sky seems to be the one that that's taking over really quickly over my aster, don. But I don't know another one.

I believe I don't know threads.

Threads is just facebooks. It's a literal clone of twitter from what I can tell but .

okay maybe that's all we need. But yeah I mean but yeah so I don't know. I heard of some people using that too, so i'm not my mind.

But you know there's a part of me that looks around and at least tech twitter still seems to be a thing. Yeah that functions. So that part functions, i'm going to do that.

And also, I think I like twenty five thousand followers on twitter. That's actually pretty crazy eye. I don't want to ditch that unless you know, yeah IT really, really makes sense. And for now, I don't think that makes sense to for me too.

But here me out facebook, instagram threads, masted on x blue sky, all of them at once.

That's just I mean, I just don't see the point you you know where to find good, but right that's going to do IT for this rather lean and shorter episode but I hope you enjoyed IT. Um like I said in the beginning, I will be on vacation this week.

Might still put out a video from the hotel if I get info, something i'm being told I might get info, probably be a quick update on a dawn period or something when it's raining outside um but otherwise you know we still got another episode coming with James prior next. And then I think there's still going be punish with to talk about december actually to afford to that. And uh yeah let's get in any final words.

Don't think so well, everybody.
