Beijing has dismissed a Harvard Medical School study which suggests coronavirus may already have been spreading in Wuhan in as early as August. The study has used satellite imagery of hospital parking lots in Wuhan and data for symptom-related queries on search engines for cough and diarrhoea. According to the study, increased hospital traffic and symptom search data in Wuhan preceded the documented start of the coronavirus outbreak in December. The study, however, has not been peer-reviewed by other scientists.
