Hello, hello, beautiful souls, and welcome to the Claim Your Power podcast, the ultimate show for all things new age spirituality, entrepreneurship, and embodied leadership. I'm your host, Kim Peretz. I'm an author, entrepreneur, and yoga enthusiast. If you're ready to step up, tap into your gifts, and unleash your potential, you are at the right place. It's time to claim your power.

What's up, friends? And welcome back to the podcast. How are you doing today in this holiday season? I don't know if you guys...

celebrate any holidays because I know this is a very spiritual podcast, but if anyone's celebrating Christmas or Kwanzaa or Hanukkah or whatever it may be, I'm sending you guys a wave of love this holiday season and remember to set your boundaries and to protect your peace during this time. So today I kind of woke up on the wrong side of the bed and I'm gonna...

tell you guys a little story time that connects to this episode but basically in today's episodes we're going to talk about how sometimes you have to lose yourself in order to find yourself all over again so the universe will always communicate to you with signs and those signs will get louder and louder and louder when you're out of alignment and this is a personal story time that I have realized about my own life that I think is really going to set the foundation for this episode

So you guys know I'm a university student. I usually am not someone who is like a big partier. I'm also not against like going out and dancing. I think spirituality has to have a balance and it's not just about like living in solitude, secluded in the woods. Like you can have a human experience and have different, you know, experiences and things in life. You don't have to just like meditate all day. That's not what a human experience is.

So, I like to go out dancing on occasion. I don't drink. I just know how alcohol makes me feel. So, I choose to like... I like to go when I go out and go dancing. Maybe it's at a club or something. If I'm dancing, I like to come back that night and feel good the next morning. I don't want to feel lopsided or hungover. That's just not my thing. And also...

I just feel like it disconnects me from my intuition and my spiritual practice a lot, consuming alcohol. And that's just me, by the way. Like, you can drink alcohol and be spiritual as long as, like, you have good intentions and you find a balance. And, yeah, so I just wanted to, like, preface that by saying, like, there's no shame in, like, going out and dancing and drinking. And you can still be spiritual and do all those things.

But sometimes when you're in a place that is not in alignment for you, you're in an environment that is not of your highest good, the universe will give you a wake-up call. And that's exactly what happened to me. So I had attended this university party and I'm at this party and I'm like,

wow, what am I doing here? And I'm thinking to myself, like, this is just not my vibe. This is not my energy. I didn't really know many people there. It was just very chaotic, drunk energy. And I'm just there and I'm like, I don't want to be here. Like this is not how I want to be spending my time. And some days like I do enjoy going out and dancing. But that night I was just not

vibing. I was like, I don't want to be here. This doesn't feel aligned for me. I felt like a little bit like my high school self. It was weird. It was like some weird wound and trigger coming up for me that night. Like I felt like my high school self where I would like go to these parties just because I wanted to fit in and like forcefully socialize with people. And really, I just wanted to stay in bed and journal.

during high school when I would go to those things. And that's how it felt last night. And usually I'm someone who's really good like about saying no when I don't want to be somewhere. Like if I don't want to go out, I'm not going to go out. But if I do feel like going out and dancing, I will go out and I will enjoy myself and I will find that balance. But that night, just for some reason, like I was there but I didn't want to be there.

And the universe responds to that vibration. When you are out of alignment, the universe will knock you back into the right course, even if it means you got to get hurt or challenged along the way.

So I'm at this party. I'm like talking to someone out of nowhere, a giant bottle of alcohol is like someone threw it up in the hair, in the air, not in the hair. What am I saying? Someone threw it up and it hit me in the head and I just like knocked loose. Like I was with my friend and she was like, oh my God, are you okay? And I like was feeling so nauseous and just thank God it wasn't a concussion and I wasn't bleeding or anything.

But like, wow, I like couldn't stand up for the first 10 minutes. It was not good at all. And that was the biggest wake up call for me from the universe. That was literally the universe telling me, Kim, what are you doing here? This is not your place. Like it was knocking me back on the head, like knocking me back into proportions. Like, why are you here? And that night, like I realized I don't want to be here. Like, why am I, why am I even doing this?

And it really knocked me back into alignment. Needless to say, in the moment, it was not fun. And I was feeling not good at all. But now I look back at it and I'm like, wow, that was meant to happen to me. Like the universe was responding to that low vibration that I was in.

And so where I'm going with this little story time is to tell you guys that sometimes moments where you lose yourself in life, sometimes you have to go through those moments where you're someplace that is not in alignment for you or you don't know yourself or you lost your sense of independence or you feel codependent on someone. Whatever it is, when you lose yourself...

That is your greatest opportunity to find yourself all over again. And the universe is there to help you do that. And the challenges along the way that you experience, the heartbreak, the rejection, the abandonment, those are all lessons in disguise.

to steer you towards the right, most aligned path again. And I look back on my life and all the big rejection moments and challenges and a heartbreak and feelings of abandonment and self-loss and

Those moments, those low moments where I felt like I lost myself were the moments that catalyzed my biggest up level. Like I think back to like the rejections that I experienced and I think, wow, like if I didn't get rejected from X, Y, and Z, like I probably wouldn't have been a content creator. I probably wouldn't have started this podcast.

If I hadn't gone through a certain breakup, I probably wouldn't have found myself. I wouldn't have taken a trip to Costa Rica. I wouldn't have met so many amazing people and fell back in love with myself. So here's to say that if you are going through a certain challenge right now or obstacle or you feel lost, you feel like you lost yourself.

I want to tell you and empower you that it's okay to be where you are. You don't have to have every single part of your life figured out. And it's okay to sometimes go off course because the moments where you go off course alchemize the moments where you come back into alignment even stronger.

The days where you feel lost are also the days where you have this inner light and inner power to want to find yourself all over again. Like days, like I'm not going to lie, this past month I've been feeling kind of off. Not all month, but it is like the best feeling. Like the past few days, I feel like I'm claiming myself back again. I'm standing again in my own energy. But

But to be completely truthful, the past few moments in the past month that I've had of like disalignment that knocked me back in, wow, man have these moments alchemized so much like motivation within me to like want to come back to myself. Like I'm so I've been so motivated recently to like go to the gym and to meditate and to go on walks and watch the sunsets because I have felt

out of alignment and so I'm so motivated to come back and do these things for myself again and I want to say that if there's someone that you know that like seems like they have their shit figured out they don't we're all just trying to walk each other home we're all just trying to learn and grow and evolve and anyone who claims to have their entire life path figured out is in for a ride the

Because someone who is in such a place of attachment to one outcome is in for some fun from the universe. Because the universe doesn't like attachment. It likes when you are in the present, when you flow, when you trust, when you have faith. And so I just want to tell you that if you are in a moment in life where you feel like you're not in alignment with

This moment right now, this moment where you feel at your lowest, where you feel confused, when you feel lost, you're going to look back and you're going to realize why these things were happening and how they were actually meant to serve you. Even if it doesn't seem like it right now. You guys think that when I got knocked in the head, I was thinking that way? I honestly wasn't even thinking. I was like, I just got knocked in the head and I'm not a perfect human being. I know a lot of spiritual people preach like,

Like the way you respond to every situation in life is where your power is. Very true. But I'm also human. And when I got knocked in the head, I wasn't thinking to myself, wow, like I just got back knocked in back into alignment. Like everything's working out for me. Like, no, I was in pain. I just got knocked in the head. And so I just want to tell you that.

It's okay for you to be confused and it's okay to be present in that moment. You don't, when you feel confused or lost, you don't have to do everything in your power to try to get yourself out of that situation right away. I think the more you simmer in that feeling and marinate it and feel it and allow yourself to be present with it, the more that you can move past it. If you avoid or escape the feeling, it's just going to come back in a different form. But if you sit with yourself and tell yourself, okay, I'm lost right now.

But that's okay. I don't have to have my shit figured out all the time. I'm not perfect. I'm human. I'm a soul having a human experience. And that's okay that I don't have everything figured out right now. And I'm still worthy and I'm still valuable and I still love and accept myself. And I know that there is some higher power that is guiding me behind the scenes and

And you have to remind yourself that because nobody is going to do it for you. Nobody is going to be your biggest cheerleader and your biggest guide and your biggest best friend other than yourself.

So moments where you feel lost, where you feel like you don't know who you are, those are also the moments that you remind yourself that it's okay to be exactly where you are. It's okay to embrace the pace of your path. It's okay to feel lost. It's okay to not have every single thing figured out. Because remember, sometimes you have to lose yourself in order to find yourself. But the moments that you lose yourself

wow, you're gonna find yourself so much stronger than before. Like you're gonna have some major up-level quantum leap. I don't know how to explain it, but being able to be grateful for the moments where you were down, for the moments where you weren't in your highest alignment, where you didn't feel like the highest version of you allows you to step into that highest version of yourself.

Because you're in a state of gratitude and you're in a state of love. When you judge yourself, when you shame yourself, when you guilt yourself for not being where you want to be, you are bringing your vibration down. And you need to do the exact opposite. When you are not exactly where you want to be,

You remind yourself, just because I'm not there right now doesn't mean that I won't get there. In fact, I will get there and I will get there at the perfect time. So it's okay to feel lost. It's okay to feel confused. And the people, I also want to mention that the people in your life who made you feel these emotions, who made you feel confused, who made you feel lost, who made you feel unworthy,

Being able to be grateful for them is your greatest power because they reflected to you a trigger that you have, a wound that you have, a part of yourself that needs healing. And if it wasn't for them, maybe if it wasn't for the way they treated you, for the way they hurt you, for the way they interacted with you, maybe you wouldn't have had that epiphany about yourself. Maybe you wouldn't have had that motivation to work on yourself, to find yourself.

So being able to be grateful for the pain and the low moments and even the people who helped be part of those low moments is how you claim back your power. It's you say thank you to every single person who showed you pain, to every single person who showed you love because that's

Those people came into your life to show you something major about yourself. And of course, it's a lot easier to say thank you to somebody who showed you love versus somebody who showed you pain or a wound. But I'm telling you that that person showed you a part of yourself that needs more love and needs healing. And that means that they had a big purpose in your life. Maybe that is not the most amazing purpose, the most empowering purpose, but it still was a purpose and it still served you on some dimension.

And so being able to be grateful for all the low moments in your life and the moments that you felt lost and the people who made you feel lost is how you find yourself again. You cannot find yourself again from a place of resistance, from a place of lack, from a place of detachment. The way you find yourself again is by surrendering to your experience. It's by saying, okay, I'm taking this lesson. I accept it as is. I'm a good person and I deserve good things to come my way and I'm shifting my energy now.

And that is exactly what I did. Like after that event, I was like, I'm shifting my energy. I'm standing only in my own energy. I'm claiming back my power. I'm sticking back to my boundaries. I'm honoring my inner peace and booyah, I'm back at it.

And that is exactly what I want to recommend to you guys to do. It's the moments where you feel lost to allow yourself to feel that pain, to feel that wound, and then empower yourself like you have never done before.
