Hello, hello, beautiful souls, and welcome to the Claim Your Power podcast, the ultimate show for all things New Age spirituality, entrepreneurship, and embodied leadership. I'm your host, Kim Peretz. I'm an author, entrepreneur, and yoga enthusiast. If you're ready to step up, tap into your gifts, and unleash your potential, you are at the right place. It's time to claim your power.
Hello, my beautiful friends, and welcome back to the podcast. If you're new here, I'm your host. My name is Kim, and I'm very happy that you're part of this spiritual space on the internet.
So today we're going to be talking all about how you can't rush your healing. So if you've been part of like the self-development, self-love, wellness journey for a long time, you know that there is a big emphasis on healing and leveling up and spiritual growth. And I've noticed that it's become, I don't want to say toxic, but it's become this thing that is very pressuring and
and kind of pushes us to disconnect from our shadow and from our emotions because we're constantly chasing after the next up level, after the next quantum leap, after the next manifestation, healing. And we never really take the time to just reflect and be like, okay, this is where we're at now and we can't rush this part of our life anymore.
And it's okay to not be 100%. And it's okay to not always wanting to improve yourself and do the shadow work and always wanting to level up. It's okay to like be where you're at and marinate in those feelings. Healing is not linear. You don't wake up one day and you're like, boom, all my childhood traumas, all my wounds, everything.
everything is just healed. It doesn't work like that. Healing is a journey. It's a curve. And some days are going to take one step back and then another day to step forward. And that's completely okay. I want to validate you in this episode because I think there's such a big emphasis in like the personal development, spiritual community to always be like striving for more and striving for more growth and leveling up. But there's
But there's such a big part of the human experience that's just like experiencing and being present with our emotions and our experiences and holding space for ourselves. And that's so, so important. You cannot rush your healing. Whatever that you are going through right now, it's okay. It's valid. And just because you are going through it doesn't mean that you're not making any progress, doesn't mean that you're moving backwards, doesn't mean that you're not good enough. It means that you are exactly where you need to be and that you are living
experiencing these emotions and these feelings for a reason. They're being brought up to be released and that's completely valid. You are exactly where you need to be and sometimes you don't want to be where you want to be.
Like, let's be honest here. There are many times in my life where I'm like, da-da-da, I'm exactly where I'm meant to be, but I don't want to be in that place. And it's not easy because you're entering this resistance state and you're like, okay, why am I meant to be here? Why am I going through this? Why am I experiencing this? What is the reason? But I can promise you from almost every single experience and segments of my life that whatever is being brought
brought up right now in your life and like rising to surface there's a reason for it feelings rise up so that they can be subsided so that we can work through them so that we can release them we can let them go with an open heart and the more that you like try to tell yourself oh i'm fully healed or suppress it or just act try to act like everything is completely okay and become so obsessed with like oh my god i have to feel good to create more good and i have to always have positive thoughts or i'm
When you release that and you just are present with yourself and hold space for yourself and you're like, okay, I'm experiencing this right now and that's valid and I deeply love and accept myself. And although maybe I'm not exactly where I want to be, I know I'll get there. I know I'll get there. And I am choosing to hold space for myself because holding space for yourself is the biggest gift that you can give for yourself.
You, okay, let me give you a really good example for this. Let's say that you were like, you've had a really, really motivational week. You're like, boom, boom, you're going to the gym every day. You're getting all your work done. You're meditating, everything. You're super motivated. Here comes Monday. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed. You're feeling a little bit anxious. You're feeling these weird feelings from the past rise up. Your thoughts are a little different. They're not as positive.
So you've got two choices in those moments. You can either shame yourself, guilt yourself, tell yourself, Kim, you've come such a far, long way. Why are you being like this? You know better. You suck. Or you can say, wow,
This is interesting because I've been feeling really, really great recently and then this feeling has come up. So maybe there's a reason that I'm experiencing this and you start to get curious because curiosity is the key to your soul. When you become curious and you view your healing journey and your emotions and your thoughts with neutrality and curiosity instead of shame and judgment,
you completely flip the switch on your life. And when you hold space for yourself and fill up your own cup, that is where healing takes place. Instead of shaming yourself that, okay, you had this breakup. It's been 10 months. You should be completely over it by now. No.
There's timing. Everyone is on their own path. It's completely okay if you're not over a breakup or you're not over a friendship ending or you're not over something that happened to you in the past. It's okay. And obviously, I'm not saying like swallow your emotions and just completely let yourself loose and wallow in bed. No. No.
But I'm also saying that feel. It's okay to feel. You came onto this earth to feel, to experience, to live. And part of living is experiencing the low moments, not just the highs. You will never be able to appreciate and have gratitude for all the high moments if you have no low moments.
So I just want to remind you that whatever situation that you are going through, even if your life feels really good and there's still like a small part of you that's like working through something and something that you haven't been able to let go or surrender, it's okay. It's okay. It's valid. You're human and you can't have every single thing figured out at the exact moment that things are occurring. You grow as you go.
and you evolve as time goes on and as you learn more and as you experience more and whatever situation that you are in, whether it's heartbreak, rejection, abandonment, whatever feelings that are coming up, self-judgment, self-criticism, whatever it is, I want to invite you to have gratitude and love for yourself during those moments because
Because it's really easy to love yourself and to be proud of yourself and to accept yourself in the high moments. When you're like high on life, when you're motivated. The challenge and the true secret is being happy with yourself through it all. Through the low moments too, through the imperfections, through the insecurities, through the working of your soul and your healing.
And that is where the growth is, is being able to hold space for yourself when it's hard and remind yourself of everything that you know. Remind yourself that you are where you're meant to be. Remind yourself that healing takes time and it's not a linear journey. And remind yourself,
That just because something is coming up, just because a feeling is coming up from the past doesn't mean that you are going backwards. I really, really want to emphasize that in this episode. Just because you have one thought that comes up doesn't mean you have to give it power. Just because you have a feeling that comes up doesn't mean that all the healing work that you've done is going out in the trash.
It actually means that you are being called to heal deeper. And that is a beautiful thing because it's an opportunity for growth. One more really important thing that I wanted to mention is this concept of healing has been turned into something that I don't align with. Because healing a lot in the spiritual community is this idea that like, oh, you're broken. You need to be fixed.
But for me, healing is just diving deeper into a sense of remembering. Remembering your purpose. Remembering your mission. Remembering your soul. Remembering who you are, your authentic self. You are not broken. You do not need to be fixed. These feelings don't mean that you're broken. These emotions don't mean that you're broken. Healing is an opportunity for you to just remember.
reintroduce yourself to you to redefine your relationship with you doesn't mean that anything's wrong with you that you're not enough that you're not worthy that you're broken you have nothing to fix you just have a remembering you just have to open your heart to open your soul and so really changing the narrative of healing like if you're going through let's say a breakup right now it could be a friendship breakup it could be a romantic breakup
If you looked at healing as like, oh, I'm not broken. I'm just redefining my relationship with myself. I'm learning to come home to myself. I'm learning to love myself all over again. I'm connecting to my inner being. Instead of I'm broken, I need to be fixed. They broke me. They completely shattered my heart. Instead of that, and you gave power back to yourself, that is how healing can take place. And that is how you can mend your heart and mend your soul.
is by giving the power back to you, is by taking back the creatrix energy and saying, okay, this is not linear. This experience is not ordinary. It's not logical, but I'm going through it for a reason because I'm going to come out of it so much wiser and so much stronger and so much more beautiful than I already am. And that's a beautiful, amazing place to be in. Where you are at right now in the future, you're going to look back at the past and you're going to think, wow,
I went through this experience for a reason. This has made me stronger and more powerful. And you're going to look back at this exact time in your life and you're going to think, wow, you're going to have this sense of awe. Like this happened for my highest good. And I want to leave you with this one thing, this sense of wisdom that has really changed my life. And it's that once you become so happy and
and grateful and fulfilled with where you are now in the imperfections, amidst the chaos, amidst the insecurities. When you become whole in those moments and present, that is how your life shifts.
You cannot shift from a place of escaping or resistance. You can only shift when you are whole and complete from where you are now. So if you are not exactly where you want to be right now and you are still on this journey and you want to rush your healing, you want to rush to the next place, I invite you to take a moment to slow down, to take a breath, to connect back to yourself.
And to remind yourself that where you are at now is a beautiful place to be in because you have to embrace the pace of your path. And once you embrace the pace of your path,
That is when your journey and your path begins to shift. Beautiful souls, thank you so much for joining me in today's episode.
