Thanks for listening to my call of the day podcast. You can hear my live radio program Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. Eastern time on Sirius XM Triumph 111. Sophie and Sean, welcome to the program. Hi, Dr. Laura. So we're calling you today because we have a three-year-old daughter and we're thinking about changing her name. So a little bit of background. I'm sorry. Are you guys married to each other?
Yes. For how long? Four years now. And is your little child a product of the two of you? She is. We actually have two kids, both a product of both of us. So you want to change her first name, not her last name. Why after all of these years do we care about what her first name is?
So when we picked her first name, it kind of felt like we picked it rather quickly. We thought we were having a boy. It was a surprise. We had a girl and I've just never been happy with it. I kind of agreed to something and we went with it. And it's kind of a crazy time when you first had a baby. But since that day that we named her, I've looked at her and thought that's not her right name. It's not the name for her. Okay, Sophie. Sophie. Yeah. Sophie.
Don't do this. She recognizes herself as that name. She will take this personally. This will be confusing and difficult. Call her a cute nickname if you'd like. Call her a cute nickname. Call her Sweetums all the time. Honey Bunch. Don't do this to a kid. Please don't. The name that we've named her, though, is in fact a boy name, and she's been mistaken for a boy. Okay, I was supposed to be Larry Lawrence.
So what? And there are names that are used by both genders. I don't care how you feel about her name. I care about her. You have to adjust to what is good for her, not have her adjust to your possibly neurotic stuff going on about names. Okay. Did you know that skincare can start in the laundry room?
The Dr. Laura program is happy to be partnering with our sponsor, All Free Clear Laundry Detergent. My peeps with kids are especially thrilled to use it because it's 100% free of dyes and perfumes. All Free Clear is the number one laundry detergent brand recommended for sensitive skin by pediatricians, dermatologists, and allergists.
For a clean you can feel good about, all you need is All Free Clear.
Welcome back to Listen to Your Heart. I'm Jerry. And I'm Jerry's heart. Today's topic, Repatha, Evalokimab. Heart, why'd you pick this one? Well, Jerry, for people who have had a heart attack, like us, diet and exercise might not be enough to lower the risk of another one. Okay. To help know if we're at risk, we should be getting our LDL-C, our bad cholesterol, checked, and talking to our doctor. I'm listening. And if it's still too high, Repatha can be added to a statin to lower our LDL-C and our heart attack risk.
Hmm, guess it's time to ask about Ravaba.
Do not take Repatha if you're allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions can occur. Get medical help right away if you have trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or arms. Common side effects include runny nose, sore throat, common cold symptoms, flu or flu-like symptoms, back pain, high blood sugar, and redness, pain, or bruising at the injection site. Listen to your heart. Ask your doctor about Repatha. Learn more at Repatha.com or call 1-844-REPATHA.

Drop this out of your mind and get on with life. Are you obsessing about anything else? Seriously. Okay, Sean, does she obsess about anything else? Tell me the truth. Only me. She obsesses about you? I like to think so. Okay, good. No, she doesn't. I don't care what the name is. It's her name. If she gets to be 18 and she wants to change her name, good. But please don't impose this. It's just, no.
Please don't. Please. Okay. So tell me a nickname you could call her. Something cute. By the way, do you have a nickname for Sean? Or do you call him Sean? But do you call him anything cute when you're horny or anything? No, not really. You don't call him sweetie or honey bun or nothing? Stud? Just dad. Sean and dad. Okay. Do me a favor. Don't call Sean dad unless you're referring to him when you're talking to your kid.
But don't call... He's your man. Don't call him dad. I want to keep him as your man. It's much sexier and powerful. Okay. So let's hear a nickname. Hey, Sean, come up with a nickname for your daughter. Or do you have one? Well, we do. So again, we didn't find out what... Sean, I don't care about that story. I just want to know if you have a nickname. Yeah, we do. So because we weren't sure, we called her Pip. I was like, an avocado Pip. So...
Up to now, we basically called her Pip kind of as a bit of a nickname. Prior to having a baby, we referred to her as Pip, and then Pip just kicked Sophie's belly when she was a baby. Okay, so you already have a nickname. Stay with it. Please don't do this. You can do whatever you want, but I'm just begging.
Just too confusing and I think detrimental. Like, what's wrong? A three-year-old is going to take a change of name as disapproving of the kid. I keep telling you, kids take everything personally. They don't think it's just mom being weird. They take it personally. And I don't want to drop into her mind that there's anything unacceptable about her. Please don't do this to your kids, okay?
