Before we get to Alabama football and Kalen DeBoer, here's some audio from him talking Jalen Milrow. Do you mind telling our listeners what they can get from Iconic Cards?

And Iconic Carts has two locations to make it easy on you in downtown and in Chelsea.
Or you can always go online at iconiccarts.com. All right, Kalen DeBoer discussing Jalen Milrow's progression so far through just a few practices this fall.
Took the best steps I've seen since I've been here. The way he's intentional about coming out, you know, even not just what you say, but just how you do things, what your body language is. And he gets that. That's important. But he's actually just really leading that way. And then it leads to him playing well, you know, and the other guys just following suit. So today he came out again, really today through the deep ball, probably as well as I'd seen him throw. That's a lot of just guys playing.
And the timing and all of that and his rhythm coming into play. He's feeling more comfortable there. So some big plays that were made out there. He's really done a nice job, you know, raising his game, asking more out of himself. I'm pushing him. I know Coach Sheridan is too. Every day, just like those details, man, be on it. G-Mac, how much can some of that nonverbal stuff help Jalen Milrow this year as Coach DeBoer was sort of singling out the leadership, the body language, things like that?
Well, I think it helped a lot. I mean, you and I are pretty familiar with some of the things that happened that people wouldn't know about necessarily. And just play organization stuff, remembering all the processes stuff.
forgetting a very important aspect of getting ready to snap the ball and making sure that everyone's on the same page. And I think those are things that he maybe got a little carried away with last year. I think things were moving really fast for him. And while he's really, really good and talented and has a lot of skill, uh,
Doing the little things is something that was a work in progress, if you will. So I think that's going to be really beneficial. And leadership is going to come when you play well because you can't lead if you're not good. Simple as that. If you don't play well, people will not respond to what you tell them. With all due respect, if a guy is missing blocks right and left up front, Kolek, are you going to listen to him? No. No?
if a guy's missing throws, guess what? Ain't going to listen to him either. Uh, if a guy can't cover in the backend, like no one's listening to you, what you have to say. So you need to play well. Um, but I think there also needs to be a,
and elevated attention to detail offensively this year, and that starts with the quarterback. Because, look, Jalen's a great player. There's no doubt about it, but the attention to detail last year with some things, and we don't need to go into the detail of it, needs to be better because that will allow everyone to be on the same page and will allow for a lot less negative plays and or mistakes. So it's going to be really beneficial, I think, moving forward because I think once you play a lot more, you're going to be able to compartmentalize and be able to kind of
it just feels more natural and more routine. Right. So some of those things could take Jalen Milrow just a little bit further. We'll spend more time on Jalen, talk more about that as the show progresses, but he joins us each and every Monday, thanks to our friends at Crane Works. Hear him 2 to 6 p.m. weekdays right here on JOX. It's Paul Feinbaum. Lift it, load it, grade it, grind it.
Paul Feinbaum on Mac and Cube in the morning is brought to you by Crane Works. Lift it, buy it, rent it. The big dogs got it. Now, Paul Feinbaum. Paul, always great to be with you. I want to start with the intimidation of Nick Saban and you working with him. Heard a little bit of your interview with Dan Patrick last week. I never expected to hear that come out of your mouth.
Well, the intimidating part wasn't the physical presence, Cole. It was the fact that every question I knew that not only did he know the answer better, he knew it 100 times better, especially when we were talking about Alabama.
And it was just, I had talked to him before that one-on-one, which I was very comfortable with. And quite frankly, it was fascinating to dig deep. But in a setting like that, I may have hyperbolized it slightly, but Greg understands. I mean, he spent a lot more time on the set with him than I did. But it was,
Maybe the Nick Saban six months from now will be a little bit easier, but he was just so hungry for a bite at the apple on things that he knew so well that I think that was part of the reason I answered it that way. Paul, as you assess just his comfort level and how he's going to continue to progress in this business, it's going to be funny. Obviously, sharing the desk with six people will be a little different. How do you think he'll enjoy being on this side of the microphone?
Well, I think he'll enjoy it because, as you know, Greg, it goes right to the core of who he is. It's preparation. It's delivery. It's execution. Having some fun this season with Paul. All right, we'll get back to Paul in just a moment. Referencing just kind of Kalen DeBoer first and foremost, C-Max, speaking of comfort level, when we heard that audio early between him and Milrow,
Did you expect sort of the transition from a comfort perspective with he and his players to sound like it is where it is? I don't know if it realistically is or not, but it's coming across that way. I think he sounds real pleased with where the team is at. It's so early, you know, I mean, it's so early. You can feel good about guys effort level in camp at this point. It's the execution level, though, that I think would probably be lacking. But it sounds like they're in a good spot.
All right. We'll try to get Paul Feinbaum back on the show here in just a moment. First, I'll tell you about Your CBD Store. If you're looking for a product that can help get you a better night's sleep, better focus throughout the course of the day, Your CBD Store can help. You can go by now. One of their four locations. It's the largest brick-and-mortar CBD retailer on planet Earth. Ask them about arthritis, anxiety for you or your pets, skin care, gut health. Your CBD Store can help you out today.
Highway 280 by Bailey, brother. 150 by the Cajun Cleaver. Trustful just off 459. And now downtown in Five Points, your CBD store where good health hits home. First company to have USDA certified organic oil supplements that got the stamp seal on those products. So they have to meet and achieve a certain set of standards. That's why your CBD store is the place for you. All right, back to Paul Feinbaum. Lost you there for a moment, Paul. Apologize for that. Yeah.
Yeah, I would just simply answer what Greg said in terms of, you know, Nick Saban is eminently prepared for what he's about to do because he will be the most prepared person in television, maybe other than Greg. He will be meticulous. He'll be analytical at a level that we've never seen or heard before.
I think the issue is, and we've all been there, where we have to sit and listen to people patiently, sometimes intelligently, and sometimes they're rambling about things which they don't really know very much about or haven't been paying attention. I think that would be the frustrating level. I know for a fact that Greg and I, and you too as well, Cole, but Greg and I spent a year together traveling around. We often would sit and listen to someone else on the panel,
And I only wish the audience could have seen the eyes that we were making at each other as other people were rambling on. I don't know if Saban will follow that and will be as patient as we were, maybe is what I'm trying to say.
Paul, I want to turn the page and go to Auburn for a moment. Not necessarily what's happened in practice. Had two at the end of last week. Haven't taken too much from that other than maybe how the wide receiver core looks. But this recruiting for Hugh Freeze doesn't feel like it's a one weekend thing. They go get a commitment from 2025 edge Jared Smith out of Alabaster, another high profile recruit there.
Should Auburn fans expect this to continue? And has this exceeded your expectations so far with what Hugh Freeze has done on the planes?
It has blown me away. I feel like right now Auburn is literally on fire in recruiting, and that is such an integral part. And some can argue, well, hey, let's look at the charts. Let's look at this. Recruiting is about momentum. Recruiting is about having people believe that you are on the right track as opposed to the wrong track. And when you turn a couple of players, when you do something that hasn't happened very often,
and beat the rival in state. Alabama fans can maybe mitigate it and say, well, we recruit differently now. And that may be true. But it
It plays to the base, and when you have momentum, that means more people get involved, more people become invested. And I think right now that is the story at Auburn. I'm not trying to say, well, a 7-5 or an 8-4 record this year is going to change things. I mean, Hugh Freeze needs an improvement on the football field. But as long as everyone believes this program will get there eventually, and I do based on what I'm seeing,
then I think everyone on the Auburn side has to be thrilled. Paul, I hate to make kind of a bit of a right turn here, but I am curious to get your take on Michigan. You've obviously been very critical of Jim Harbaugh, but I haven't heard a whole lot of criticism about Jerome Moore. I also don't know if I've gotten your assessment of the Connor Stallion situation. The Connor Stallion situation is water under the bridge. They won a national championship, but the future for Michigan is,
Well, I mean, I think on surface it looks terrible, but Greg...
We don't know exactly how it's going to land. And what I really don't think we know either is what the next step is going to be. And I think it's pretty obvious that whatever the NCAA says, there will be a lawyer waiting at the courthouse representing the school and Sharon Moore. And I think that's really what's going to drag this out. Ultimately, I think there'll be some accommodation because the NCAA does not want to get near a courtroom again. Uh,
just look at what happened really with a much less serious situation in Tennessee a couple of months ago. So I think it will look ugly. I think Michigan will certainly take some hits, but I don't see this as bringing down the program or really slowing it down either because they're –
Most of us feel like we've been down this road before. They won the national championship, and I know everyone can say whatever they would like to say, but Charlie Baker said they won it fair and square, whether that really means anything or not. He did say it. And I don't think anything is changing there, and quite frankly, I don't think the penalty here will be too severe. Paul, always great catching up with you. Appreciate the time. Look forward to catching up with you again next week.
A pleasure. Thank you, guys. All right, there you go. Paul Feinbaum joining us on the Buyer's Right Hotline.
