第三届中国-中东欧国家博览会将在宁波举行

The 3rdChina-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo & International Consumer Goods Fairwill be heldin Ningbo, Zhejiang Province from May 16th to 20th.As the old international institutional exhibition launched 4 business ties with countries in central and eastern Europe, the expo will be hosted in new buildings and focus on different industries with a new exhibition area for services. Song Wenjing has more.

第三届中国-中东欧国家博览会暨国际消费品博览会将于5月16日至20日在浙江宁波举行。本次博览会将首次启用新场馆，并聚焦不同产业，通过开设新的展区提供更多服务。记者宋文静带来详细报道。

The theme of the expo is “Deepening Practical Cooperation and Joining Hands for the Future”. Hungary will be the guest country of honor, while Jiangsu is the theme province. The expo, with an exhibition area of 220,000 square meters, features about 3,000 exhibitors, and is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.

本届博览会以“深化务实合作携手共向未来”为主题，由匈牙利担任主宾国、江苏省担任主题省。展览总面积达22万平方米，参展商约3000家，预计参会人数将突破10万人。

“本届中东欧博览会已经吸引了中东欧国家大约380家企业参展，参展商品涉及到智能制造、日用时尚、农食产品、旅游物流等多个品类，将向中国企业和消费者提供更直观了解和体验中东欧产品的机会。此外我们还将鼓励和支持中东欧国家和企业参加进博会、消博会等中国举办的各类展会。”

“About 380 companies from central and eastern European countries will take part in the expo. They will showcase a variety of products covering smart manufacturing, daily necessities, food, tourism and logistics. It will be a good opportunity for Chinese companies and consumers to learn about central and eastern European products. We will encourage them to take part in other Chinese expos such as the China International Import Expo and China International Consumer Products Expo.”

Li said in the first quarter of 2023, two-way trade between China and central and eastern European countries was off to a steady and positive start, up 1.6 percent to 33.3 billion US dollars.

李飞表示，今年一季度，中国与中东欧国家贸易额达333亿美元，增长1.6%，开局总体平稳向好。

“中国对中东欧国家出口商品主要包括电机电器设备、机械器具、车辆及零部件、家具寝具等。中国自中东欧进口的商品主要是精密仪器设备、铜材、木制品等。”

“China's exports to central and eastern European countries include electrical machinery and equipment, mechanical appliances, automobile parts and furniture. China mainly imports precision【精密度】 instruments, copper and wooden products from those countries.”

So far, two-way investment between China and central and eastern European countriesis approaching 20 billion US dollars. In the first quarter of this year, China’s direct investment in those countries across all industries rose 148 percent year on year.

截至目前，中国同中东欧国家双向投资规模已接近200亿美元。今年一季度，我国对中东欧国家全行业直接投资同比增长148%。

2.SHAKESPEARE PLAYS COMING TO A PARK NEAR YOU

“公园里的莎士比亚”正在上海外滩源上演，濮存昕等参演

Shanghai’s Shakespeare in the Park opened in the city this week. The Huangpu District government is hoping to make Shakespeare’s work more accessible to the public after the concept was pioneered with great success in New York 70 years ago. District official says domestic and international troupes have been invited to stage productions of the bard’s plays in downtown parks. Zhang Yue brings us more about the program.

演艺大世界“公园里的莎士比亚”本周在上海迎来首秀。这一概念在70年前的纽约率先取得巨大成功，黄浦区政府希望公众更容易接触到莎士比亚的作品。当地政府表示，国内外剧团已被邀请在市中心的公园上演莎士比亚戏剧。记者张乐带领我们了解“公园里的莎士比亚”这一项目的详细内容。

At Rockbund, veteran actor Pu Cunxin took the title role in an outdoor performance of soliloquies from “Hamlet”. The famous “to be or not to be” line was translated as “to live or to die, that is the question,” as the 70-year-old actor recited it in Chinese.

在外滩，资深演员濮存昕在户外演出的《哈姆雷特》独白中担任主角。这位70岁的演员用中文吟诵出著名台词“生存还是毁灭，这是一个值得考虑的问题”。

“本身莎士比亚是世界性的文化经典，它的演绎考验每个剧团、也吸引每个剧团。这是中国第一次采用‘公园里的莎士比亚’的理念，是一个非常宝贵的机会，可以邀请全世界最好的剧团来上海，与莎士比亚爱好者近距离交流。”

“Shakespeare's plays are considered the most classic around the globe, which makes it attractive and challenging for every single troupe. This is the first time that China adopts the idea of 'Shakespeare in the Park'. It is such a precious opportunity to invite some of the best performers to Shanghai to communicate with enthusiasts of Shakespeare at such a close distance.”

The first Shakespeare play was staged in Shanghai in 1879 at Lyceum Theater. Pu, who is the president of the China Theater Association, was appointed as chief consultant of the Shakespeare in the Park program.

第一部莎士比亚戏剧于1879年在上海的兰心剧院上演。身为中国戏剧家协会主席的濮存昕被任命为项目“公园里的莎士比亚”的首席顾问。

Huangpu district has the largest number of outdoor lawns in Shanghai, making it an ideal place to organize such performances. The district said Shanghai is a center of cultural heritage, and Shakespeare's classics match the city's international status.

黄浦区拥有上海最多的户外草坪，是举办此类演出的理想场所。该区表示，上海是文化遗产中心，而莎士比亚的经典作品与这座城市的国际地位相符。

“Following the "Hamlet" debut【首演】, Chinese versions of "Romeo and Juliet," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and other plays will be staged in Fuxing Park between May and October next year. An outdoor bazaar【集市】 and performances will also be held to boost tourism spending. Shakespeare in the Park will be held annually.”

Revenue from commercial performances nationwide doubled to nearly 5 billion yuan in the first quarter compared to a year earlier.

与去年同期相比，第一季度全国商业演出收入翻了一番，达到近50亿元。

3.AI TECHNOLOGY HELPS IN FILM PRODUCTION

人工智能技术为电影制作注入丰富可能

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are making significant advances with sophisticated【复杂的】 new AI programs sparking discussions about their potential impact on various industries. In film production, some are already performing a number of human tasks from storyboarding to editing. Ying Junyi has more.

人工智能和机器学习正在取得重大进展，复杂的新人工智能程序引发了关于其对各行业潜在影响的讨论。在电影制作中，有些AI已经在执行从分镜到编辑等人工任务。记者应骏一带来更多报道。

As technology grows increasingly complex, artificial intelligence is growing right alongside it, especially in the ability to mimic【模仿】 human behavior. With just a few words entered into a prompt, some AI programs can now create human-like digital art. For students in this film school in Shanghai, that's a big help in creating concept art.

随着技术的日益复杂化，人工智能也随之发展，尤其是在模仿人类行为的能力方面。只需在提示框中输入几个字，一些人工智能程序就能创造出类似人类的数字艺术。对于上海温哥华电影学院的学生来说，这对概念艺术的创作有很大帮助。

“AI can help us make storyboards, as well as art and design. Besides creating images, we use AI programs like Notion to make our idea clear and specific. Then we type the words it produces into programs like Midjourney, and the pictures the AI creates will be much better.”

The most recent advances in AI and the wide use of the tech in the film industry have pushed the school to train students in these areas.

“Visualizing has been a part of filmmaking forever. So you have to contract a lot of illustrators, cost a lot of money to have them draw what you have in your mind or you imagine. Nowadays with AI you are able to do it on your own without spending the money. The market is actually showing a lot of people using it in the business. So we want our students to have an edge when they go out into the market. And that's why we teach them AI.”

“视觉化永远是电影制作的一部分。所以你必须和很多插画师签约，花很多钱让他们画出你脑子里的东西或者你想象出来的东西。现在有了人工智能，你可以自己做，不用花钱。实际上，市场上有很多人在商业中使用它。因此，我们希望我们的学生在进入市场时具有优势。这就是我们教他们人工智能的原因。”

In addition to using AI to come up with graphics, the school teaches students how to apply AI tech to tasks like automating character movements and creating smooth video edits. And lecturers there say continuous advancements in AI are expected to make it more widely used in the industry.

除了使用人工智能来制作图形外，学校还教授学生如何将人工智能技术应用于角色动作自动化和创建流畅的视频编辑等任务。讲师们表示，人工智能的持续进步有望使其在该行业得到更广泛的应用。

“The iteration speed of AI technology really surprises us. Half a year ago we just opened our AI courses. Now everyone in our industry needs to know how to use AI. Previously, we thought AI was mostly applicable to some technical aspects of 3D animation and visual effects. But we have learned it can greatly assist with the pre-production process. All this happened within just two months.”

Xu says, however, that he does not believe AI will completely take over the industry, adding a person still makes final decisions and AI tech is just a tool to improve efficiency. He adds it will be increasingly important for people to learn how to utilize AI to produce high-quality films.

然而，徐一然补充道，他不相信人工智能会完全接管这个行业，人仍然会做出最终决定，人工智能技术只是提高效率的工具。学习如何利用人工智能来制作高质量电影将变得越来越重要。
