Shane sharp in the building. Let's go, baby. You know.
no, no, no. You, I, I .
five.
only four.
Oh yeah, we have five.
We have five with you got five first. I got four first teen in the sixteen now, okay, so but you want to tell you what? I trade you all proof with love about cases.
你知道 娱乐。 How will you? You trouble me up on those? You seven, right?
I'm at seven right now. You trip me. I, I, you know, eight.
O, O. I need to get that oca, get that s in a row. You hear me padding my home.
Thank you. Got to worry about that.
no. Well, as always, we got to get to the first thing on the docket, which is new news.
He's on the new news. O.
what is this? No news. Yeah, not much.
We try my harmonize with. So hill hit ted, and i'll hated.
What is really no, no news?
No, no.
First item we have .
to .
talk about, obviously huge episode. Would you coming on here? Thank you. shame.
First of all, club 是, yes, you got to switch your own idea looks unbelieved. So you're new heights style. Should we have called this club closely, Kelsey.
having new hike? Fish, you go fish. Like the only thing I would recommend that you've get a logo. I don't know which your logo would be.
I don't know if you have a lass cape, whatever your logo should be like my logo is kind of like me. You ve probably get a logo. So IT needs something that okay, when people see that, oh.
no jam in travel. Yeah, I I just makes sense that the market can I call you? Unk, you can. How how did you get?
Unk no, who is the first person .
to call Young.
who the first of.
The started, this is started up in twenty sixteen, and the broncos were playing the the cowboys, and obviously the broncos won again. And i'd like, and I want to celebrate. I've like, man, what can I celebrate? So I stopped by a convenience door at that time.
I was getting up at three fifteen, and I had to be to work at for with ducking with that force. So I love at three fifteen, get the dogs. I'll take a show, get myself out, get there in time to get a production.
And I was like, mine company new store was open. I like me, what can I celebrate with IT? So I grew up some black and mouse.
And how to about? Ha, see that? I was like, okay, so I came out to get him a black mouse.
I have a and and I had a stocking cap and IT took off. Nobody, nobody calls me shane. Now everybody calls me up or shape. Well.
the first thing I want to to call you was, but I didn't know if that the proper thing to say first into you, I want to go shame of first, it's not be on now. I'm not .
saying never.
which was asses later, but I guys ask you now, because we talking about your name, are you the toughest man named shine? And to ever exist, ever?
Is there anybody else I know? I I own that when pretty I feel pretty cold to say a year yeah I don't know hello, I don't really .
know many other people .
and shame breathe with the box.
He's stuff. yeah.
I don't know everybody.
I heard that the new wave, everybody post .
career solutions yeah it's to you don't .
want to do, but if you have to.
you can have to .
be I find yeah, we're doing a live showing in kin city. I don't let you know this. okay. Have you done any live shows? And do you think .
this is a good idea? Yeah, I like. I mean, the thing is, is that how you guys going handle the noise, handle the background noise, the oos in the us?
Because like when we do a debate show, I love love TV, because the responses instantaneous, I don't have to go back and listen and when what they're to look at. So I know that's what you used to, that's what you use to use. Score is instantaneous. You turn the blow, you get boost is intangible. So as as performers, we're used to having IT right then and there and not having to wake the back to see the company like okay like ah yes.
So feels like you're the crowd you feeds off. Yes, yes, you get a feel for how you do.
Yes, yes. And you guys going do well about to say you're known as the black room guy. You're always, you're always keep. Yes, yes. I kept lose. Did you have to really dialed back and tears? Because when you're going on live, you can just say what you got has to be a thought process right to lose, right?
The thing is that I played the crowd, so I get a sense early on of what the crowd likes. And so now i'm building. But even though I help my arguments already said, i'm building my argument already because this is a performer, so I know what to say.
I know was going get the ou, I know was going get to us. And so now you build that to like, get the crowd on your side because now the competition is meal in skip. So now i'm trying to win the crowd over to get the crowd on my site. So yeah, absolutely.
You plated the crowd.
I A S I think .
we crown .
go a little.
That's all you. This is one.
Listen.
watching. You can still .

Yeah let's keep the same role and let's get IT into the twelve bold topics or twelve vish bold topics. Um get into with my guy on cro q. Let's talk a little bit about the mentorship. I expect the things i've always told everybody, how much how appreciative I am that you reach out on the good games and the bad games. You don't let the me, you don't let a slight at all. And I just been so blessed sed to be able to have somebody like you in my backpack, in my ear, just letting me know from a hall, a famous point of view on what I need to be doing. And I want to know.
was anybody this for you? Yeah, when uppers got there, Steve at war, who whose only a year older than me, he got there in eighty nine, I got there in ninety gas like denis meh took me on of their wings and I kind of watch demand y so how they did things, the way the professionalism in which they displayed. And I was like, mayor, I want to be that role.
I want to be when guys community, like mayor. I can't want to be like sharp. I like the week conduct himself because football was the most important thing for me.
You know, back when apple was going to the league, cell phones didn't exist at the time. Cell phones came back like a couple of years later, but back the end. Um if somebody to want to get in touch with you, they would actually call the secretary at the broncos.
The broncos would take take a message, cando equal call, call them back this number, inspect in your box, and you had a box which you name, or and IT was digin the box in your thing. And so as at the progress, then you have a voice medal that was set up for me. And once the cell phone came a, well, personally, l IT drove me crazy that every time, that every break we get, you see guys run to the phone, yeah, and they would start call in people.
And so I would just go, I just go hang the pha. Person that you're calling, what do you think they're doing? What do they think .
you think you're doing?
You work you at work there at work, and they are not why you talking to you. So I would just have to phone up and then they get the cell phones. And I, C, C, you could be made when they say such a search, you want to see you. You be made to go say they have with you, but they didn't have with you, because that's what my colleague goes used to say, my college could used to say, see, you guys messed him around.
He occurs, he said, because I know what going happen when I take your scholarships, you can go go home to tell your mom and you tell you day that I helps over you now when your mom and day come here, all her fee, i'm a put at the film. You see your son, he get over me. If so, that was the approach that I took.
But some guys, a rose meal was like A, I say that I, because this lock the croma, say what you. So I want to be like you. He said, I want the people to love me. I want to cold you to respect me.
I said, what? This is what you do? You do this, this and this. Now, he was one of the ones that listen a guy like key burners, listen a guy like the way in cars with chamblin.
A lot of the guys to listen, but a lot of guys that come and they think they know more than you, right? Okay, the information is free. Yeah, I gave IT to you.
You do what you want to do with IT and try our case. I'll reach out to try how to say, brought this what I see. I see some things that you will load this.
You will load that. I think if you do IT this way, I think you have some success. You just try. I'm not say eight. I'm just telling you something that I saw, I think could help you.
One of the start was this really .
like three about three.
four years ago. So oh okay.
got to be about three, four years about hesitant to give information when someone doesn't reach out. sure. But he is one of the few yeah that will take the information and don't feel like i'm to know at all what i'm trying to tell him what who is he to tell me what I do? You know I just that you like appreciate that and so good game as I know you have time for a birthday in a couple of touch down yeah but I believe you could have twill for was seventy five and three touchdown or he has a bet he asked more catches I said was happening is is that you're starting to press you know you can get your catches yeah don't press you to come to you. Just relax.
There was a game. We're planned the ramp on sunday night. He was actually supposed to be a mexico city, but they switched to L.
A. yeah. And the game was IT was like the first game where both team score fifty. yeah. And in A N, F, L game, and we the bone .
side of that record.
most points in an nfl game, just to lose. Yes, but I was a part of losing, I think, because there were a few catches late in the game where I wasn't locked and I wasn't focus. And he was mentioning in big moments, this has to be more died in than your athleticism, like the fundamentals and everything.
But you can't be thinking too much about the little things. It's all really gotta just a moment. Yes, got to think in. So yes, yeah.
I think the thing is good sometimes, like I said, and you start to press, you start to like, I got to do this and I one catch right now. Let me go here and get ten catches on this one catch and you can do that. I've never seen a get school without the ball is you ve got to have the ball so you try to, yes, but he was very, very receptive.
Yes, a lot of guys, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, they blow up OK. Fine, you can get work about me. But i'm sorry because my thing is i've already done what i've done.
I'm good with, yeah, he Better me here grogs Better than me. I'm good with that. I get the most out of my god given ability.
I'm not judging myself about what these guys do. They should hopefully they watch some of my game takes like, mate, yeah, that I can do that, yes, but man, just do IT here. I would have loved to have played in this era to to really compete against we.
to that the show. I want to touch on this still, because same thing happened to me. John running used to play with the, and we did a radio show, one spot, a local show, one filled alpha. And he told me something that just out had been dome. But you will get a away with self in your Younger right, although strong little bit.
And he said, no, do they teach you guys I have inside hands on your blocking and like, what do you you guys keep grabiner here and I know of those guys do and not just what those other guys like, you know, your hands are outside yeah. And at first I kind of had what you reduce me like, i'm like, man, because I do coming to me for, like, I don't nowhere. But next time I watching film, you know what john, right? Like I do at my hands was right.
And that's why i'm getting pushed back on this play, right? That's why i'm not able to so little fy the point of attack on this zone, right? And IT always means more even just have been saying that to me right weeks, you know the main right. But here in a player that you respect and you know, had a high level success to you, there IT just means little.
but more technique will keep you in the league a lot along the athletics ability. Because as you start to age, your athleticism will start to win. And the guy is the guy is more fundamental sound.
The reason why tomorrow could play twenty three years because he didn't rely in. The reason why paid managers play at a high live for such a long time, he didn't elitism. You notice, guys, that really the epytus m never have very, very, very long career, right? Yeah, because once the f lexis m way, not what, and that's what he heat for, got his size.
He is fundamentally sound. He, he has what we call video. He can drop. Drop is here. He's not robot.
I had to get to lose of my whole life right now.
Seriously, the first time we ever put we put in high school foobar k travel a quarter back. Play in jv, baby, play in jv. But he's doing scout team offence first varity on the older brother leader, the defense SE.
I'm a like to do. He gets out scrambles coming out the pocket. I want to take his head off.
And I saw him hips in. Those ships went one way and they were the other. Hey, shoot me and i've got back.
I've got him back. The next player. Okay, now i'm definitely. But he made me look real silly there. And that was one of those moments as the older .
brother was like, okay, he he's going have he got IT?
Yes, we run the needs and all that stuff that so, you know, when somebody he's got just been watching you, yeah right? I got to .
is for the worst I was get you fired off.
Let's be serious for setting. They're anything that travel is still .
needs to work on though. The thing that I told them, I say you need to be more an asset in the passing game than your liability in the run game. OK that's not he's he's not this bird offers to tackle that they brought bring in for the point of tech, right?
Can you get in the guys way, say, you ve got to drive to get five yards off the ball? I was understated time, and I was two twenty pal. I played basically my career to twenty point two twenty eight, my last, my leg is on the field, my last year, my last way and away. Two twenty three.
oh my gosh.
They move me to tidy. And when I I got to dance around about two.
four, five on the bench, yeah, twenty time.
But I got to denver. I wait two, twenty one of one receiver when they moved me to time, and I wait two or five.
Why did you wait this?
Because I was, I started running. I couldn't, you know, I was running. I mean, just run, run, run I couldn't live like, yeah I don't understand how to live in season eating terrible I was eating every meal was fast as food and because like how do you and I i'd never have single did your body friend till I got to like this I mean, a double .
dia body health there but I should have been more .
and so when they move me code read, I will always move tiny yeah and so they just move me so they can get me match to I could block on the move just at the point of attack. I was just too small, too old. Five, to try to root out of same backer you, I don't know if they was like what I gonna area by play to twenty five from IT, which you mean they had to lab back on the road and then they were they went to over from what they put the day yeah I know by different I think you tried again, Bruce meal. There is a White like I know, like me at a big .
remember the this time of bases of o literally they put IT in, democratie out at a wide night OK. And we ran side zone at him. And i'm at the point I came off the field.
I looked the a run a court. I know we want to run that one. I almost in the backfield and off. And we we're in a gun .
we're in a gun for was bad and we used the rule. So I used to tell zt like a sharp, we would not look like at that. Don't come this way.
Don't not. No, not. The good have been over here. All the cars will said.
you saw traf, you know, a special, what is the title need to do that you were like that I got IT.
He he has imagination, okay, because it's not just ten yards out, yards in. No, no, no, no, no. He has imagination. He's running around thinking about i'm gona run something very similar to this in the third quarter, in the first four quarter. So everything is being set up to bow you yes, and you are watching him run.
I'm watching him run and outlook and I said, you know what the option of coming that will route is coming up the same thing. And that seven, so everything looks the same, is said to say, I mean, he'll change bees. He don't change bees as much that, as much of that dear.
Because I like herky jerk, I would like old start, starts, speed up and go away again. But he's so fluid and he's not mechanical for a guy. He is size used when he d be mechanical robot es, he he's smooth like a guy two hundred and thirty pounds, but is two fifty five to sixty yeah are we ask .
all the former players that we ve had on the show? What's your mom? Wish more title? Mm, wish more. Who are the best? Tiens, of your mind in the an infinitely.
Ry, I would take trial grok. K, sing you. I don't think this guy is in love, love, but i'm game his flowers. He came a little out of me. Antonio gates.
okay.
gates kind of a baby. Gates kind of remind me of myself because he did a lot of change and speed. I mean, he was like slow in slow, but I was changing A B. But now, yeah, why do you think he hadn't .
gotten the same one? I like the best because you look .
at the .
stats that I, bro, how you score, how could you score like this? Yeah.
but I .
know he was. I, I have, I have. I like big games. Like, I would have like hundred and eighty h two hundred one seventy year game.
But tone would be like eighty five yard, the three test, like day. How do you do IT like actually score the ball? And in plus elida, ian IT was like, they didn't have a running again.
Lda, I would like jumping in the end. Like you yeah like thirteen one time down. And tom was still a score like that. So I give tony his love.
So all the four people.
you don't put yourself up, i'm good, i'm good. I'm good where I did, what I did up max, me up max, that my ability, the way I A you .
don't think you're the top four and time.
I don't matter honestly, I will lose no sleep. I'll put IT like this. Here is no disrespect body. I and trading my career with anybody is, yeah, I went trading my career with any tiding.
I started, I brought my own food, and people liked me like, why do you bring your own food? I'll say, because the cafeteria and cooked up for a hundred guys, my flu is made for one OK. So that was my thal process.
The way I train, the way a the way I slip was all about being the best I could be. I know there's no question. In fourteen years I got everything, my god, so that's all like to ask, and not Better than somebody else.
I don't know. I'll let guys do that for live in grade me however they want to, but I know how maximize my ability. And that's all you can ask for anybody. Did he get the maximum effort out of his god given ability?
Well, I think it's very, uh, anymore with you not to put yourself up there. Now some of us not.
So I I think two guys have to be up there ah that's driving ground have to be because the thing that I love most about him, you look at the regular use and numbers yeah and he's Better into pull season than he is the what what we call him is a big game yeah the bigger the moment, the bigger he plays. Grant was like that. The bigger the moment, the bigger he played, where you guys and I, who here you patch, I know, I tried warn our .
defender.
people prejan hole know that he know that avonmore and the deep is he don't bowl. And somehow he still comes, finds a way to come down with the football grunt with the same way I would have love to see grant, had he able to have been stay health, his numbers when he went.
he he .
might have a chance to to get.
my gosh, yeah.
But the injuries are because you so big, the only way you could tackle them with the chopin. And so now the the little made the angle problems. He have so many, so many injuries that that probably shown in his career.
And that's what I think when it's all said and done, I don't when it's all said and done, I don't know how you make an argument. This says trap isn't the greatest tidy. How do you you formulated argument to say is he's not the greatest.
Well, you did say earlier this year that if he gets the second ring, he is the greatest.
Yah because you look at his numbers, the thousand year seasons, you look at the post season and his post season resume and you combine those two, I don't know how you say IT because I don't look at again said he has the most super ring so therefore he is the best no, no, no, no, it's me. So what about a the regular season? How many catches? How many years? How many times have the regular season? Now comes season with time. That times too. Yeah, you'd never come out of a playoff game where you watch, can the city and man trapped in habit today, he he gait at work every single game.
Yes, I can tell you when I got knock the fuck out of get tennessee and I know yes.
but if you .
can have an up now, I don't remember that I was good.
Yeah, that happened. IT happened when you go into a police, just say, okay, regular season. And you know there's finality to a poll season game to think about regular season, I got nex sunday or I got thirty, I got a monday night regularly into polis, and there's finality.
Every post season football game is a game seven in basketball, a game seven in basketball, a game seven and another like a game. So you're playing a game. So every time you step on the fill in the playoff.
let's go through travel kills. I'm making that entire week my life. I'm focused on everything on that exact moment, man.
And it's honestly, obviously, there's a lot that goes into just anybody's single success in the league. But culture read had those playoff game plans are special. They are special.
Everything that we've done throughout the season, he knows that were going into the playoffs, just bangers, all the double moves, all all the concepts that we run off of each other are going in. It's a luxury man. It's a luxury to be in that off.
It's a luxury to play with a guy like panda homes because you always know you have a chance, right? And when you when you're in these moments, you just get excited to make place what you guys next year. You're to mean the stadiums got a little more energy to IT the atmosphere that seems more dramatic and more action pack and is just know, I just love the feeling a play and play off football.
And i've been fortunate i've played a lot of him at the house now helps. I don't think i've played too many. I think I actually only played two games outside of ahead in the playoff. Well outside of superos.
yes, I think to eggs credit, you do show up in the biggest moments, even not just foobar seven night live like I wash all we doing preparation for that the moment the camera went on so best everyday, right? There's just some about and go back that playoff game against buffalo. Everybody's gone crazy. States going crazy. There's only how many seconds .
us where there in that. But if they were, you were another the a they do that.
You have a presence of mind like it's still communicate, still be opened, doing whatever in the moment.
Yes, I think a IT all goes back to preparation and and always IT all goes back to what you're doing before the the game, the event, whatever IT may be, to make sure that you feel the most comfortable in that moment. Yeah right. And then you just you just your your like a everything is based off of the instance that .
you've created for yourself and you'll do something on.
you know how that just happened is black out yeah when you're in meeting, do you do you, Patrick, you guess the next each other?
Now we don't, but there's always communication. If there's some that usually said, i'll happily stand up and speak up without a down right giant.
Now was we SAT next each other in in, in, up this meeting. And the rose says, okay, twelve out of fourteen as a time. What you're think one of this, he says, and practice, go twelve.
Teen, I knowing you going to go eight, fifteen in the game, I know you gonna be sped up with just for times sake. OK, okay, what do you think of this? OK, if we played, if we played like this.
keepit hat communes, everything yeah, it's everything yeah. And then you start to build understanding without even having the ad right? yes. So now you already know like versus this coverage. And I got the version of an out route.
If there's somebody out there like if I if there's a post trying to take the cap of the difference, but you know me, he passed the post off and that guys out there, i'm not about to just keep run and cover. I'm just going to sit right here and be wide open. exactly.
So it's just you start to learn the traits of just really what ends up being the entire office, right? You mean and and you kind of create that as IT goes. But closed read has been the he always says, he said, I got fifty one percent at the end of the day, still my often right. I need you to run this corner.
You run this. So how much left does he give .
you in the I am like notorious for fucked in IT up and practice? Yes, so i'd test the waters. And now here you give me that I brow like, I like .
you already know.
over the past ten years though, you build the instincts of the relationship to really, you know try to make IT the best thing for everybody because all i'm trying to do is be convenient for a pet right uh, in certain situations, poor guys towards me so I can open up somebody else like it's just it's it's paying the picture for the guy back there to make everything that much easier form in, in terms of the way.
And I just been so fortunate that culture rees been able to help kind of grow this position in this offence, because I wasn't like this in the beginning. You know, I I was more of a inline titan, were too personnel, both of them with their hand in their ground. And he was, he was just a different office.
We had a small Charles, and we were hand the thing off, mean, everything is kind of based off of the play action. And then as Alice Smith in this office grew to kind of like the the spread offence of the array, the read zone, read option, the r POS and everything, once pack got here, everything's just kind of been growing. And he's helped me kind of grow with IT and make this tight in position completely different or just different than what IT is across the league. Yeah, shout of a big rare baby.
The little season is in full swing and that's why we need to tell you about our special hook up for today's sponsor, sek c.

Ah that's what this .
next section is.
a titan records yeah huge moment for me last year was given to ten thousand and and then gracing when you left the league, what was the receiving record for tightens in the national football league when you retired to know for obviously you held all the records for was a reception js and touch sound about titan. Did you see the game change from when you first got into legal, when you first move the tide into where you were retire? Yes, because when I first .
was got into the league, everybody wanted the third office s attacker. I mean, you had to be able to dominate the land of scrimmage was always okay. You couldn a super bow if you bring your run game.
And your defense, ah, because that's what traveled, 是 running to put ball in defense travel。 So everybody wanted to, you know, sand when I got to send, to send you to charge this small lest tiny was probably six, two, five. They had joe care of yellowed to head off the cox.
I mean, they had three on the pounds today. They had Walker. And so they just wanted to run the football.
They had married, but they had run a bursting, and they just powered a football. Everybody ran the football. yes. And if you call for all of the balls, you go to the promo, go to the probe.
O and then also I came on to see, and I like I remember looking at the meeting because I think my first year or second year each and horgan went to the provo cut like thirty, forty balls and I remember just look at all to either I like, i'm Better here yeah and I won't play in that which I say i'm Better to him yeah and it's funny how IT all started for me because I, I, I think I was jane noble. check. I with the tidy I receive, I was T M.
Brand out who ever going get to ball? I put the jury who to ball. And so one day coach put me at and I said, okay, run this right? Like how you want me to run IT? They just go get open.
I like, okay. So I just started catch the ball and then I would total ball in the words. I put in the words, and I remember what we feels with the coordinate, the time, and he bw the well, so he said, day, put his house in the game and see if they can cover, because we can.
So kind of a high, get started. And they put, I mean, people, and I told this story. They put me emotion. So john, tell me the right, no way. The .
number .
tree, yeah, I can .
tell me because I, I, I see. And then I play the slot. So now they put me a tiny, the funny thing about the system that we were in, an coach lander used to be a difference of coordinator, so everything was backwards. So an option is that one, three, five was to the right. Two, four, six.
eight was.
my gosh, say, okay, say three. I going to live share. Do you not understand? I know two years, everything right was two, four, six things.
So that was really the hardest part but once I got that down, yeah and then john was like, he believed me. He said, come to you and he tell me crags he said, you could be special yes. And I remember go.
I will get home and I remember call him my brother. I say, my john toback could be special. He said, you can be so every day.
I guess I ve got to do something. I went to work every day. So i've got to do one thing to make them keep me.
One thing I didn't. Me one play, run one route live, one rate. Tell them what this coverage I got to do.
One thing to say, we got to keeping another day from that point. Now he was over the thing. Well, IT, that came close to not happening because the thing was I was on the board to get cut.
I was want to board to get cut. I was on one of the the last twelve, fourteen guys to get this is nineteen ninety. I would serve the one drop c, my cookie, my cookie year.
And I we're playing. I'd never forget this. We're playing areas on the cardinals. And one of the coaches come came to me.
He said, he, he said, your name is on the board to get cut. Yeah, he says, now you might, you might not, but your name is on the board. He said, what you should do is going to bush, bush I S.
He said, because that we cut you, this tape is going to go to all thirty one. We was like twenty, I think twenty seven, twenty of the teen. And sometimes you might like what you see.
They like what they see. And so as i'm driving to the stadium is started away, means we're not gone. Thought about i'm not gonna able to show what I can do in to pay as gay. yeah. So now i'm all all the special teams.
I'm a garner, a one plant return, a more cake, a more cake return yeah and so as like me, how about going to show now you I don't get into the game on office into the boy quarter, right? God, I could everything to move. Yeah, I could referee, if you move your take on the kick team, come back, kick up, you can be, no, no, no, no, no.
To kick off, you can line up as far you want to take up fifty. And when I hit the line, I was in a full speed here. So when I got was blocked at me. When he turned around, I was into, add here.
be the art. Be the harder .
for you here. Make .
tons. The second team is t tacco my. So we came in that. We came in that friday, my name was loved to board. You go just like that. That's a closely to this story not being told where IT was told then you still .
had that mindset where you went every .
day every day. I want to give my name and I got to give reasons.
Keep me yeah that's .
obviously you had all the records when you left. Yeah they're ver any of those records that you just didn't think was ever gonna touched you. You still hold a .
bunch all like, I mean.
like the lone most yard in a game.
Yeah, that was two fifteen, two fourteen, two fourteen. funny. I remember a greg Robinson. He was that deef as a coordinator during the super bow.
And I used to tell him all the time, I said, if you ever went, if I ever play to give this dears, I break the record again. This D I think of the same sound. Oh, no, no, no, no.
That would happen. No, shannon, that would happen. Yes, he have to work a couple years ago, long MBA ho. He's the dc canvas. Oh god.
Now that we can print this, I like, like, I like, I think that I have get a sense of how you can get a sense that we like, okay, I will be a big week. Used to all the, this is easy, a dam bill, what the old type of again? yeah.
So I remember going to can see up like he like, what is look at like this week out out about five or six now funny in the first half, eight one in the week, two ninety nine, two ninety thousand and eighty four yards. S so we come out the third to open the series coops off the court. cool.
I say we don't run to counter because I take the prime for IT. We run counter PaaS. I go back the lab and get cover too.
I hit the same and then the safe and libra and we stopped them were that point and we get a gain. And I catch another the whole page. And so i'm like, may, I don't know.
I'm doing okay. Is that the game still head? No idea. And in a gym, sc amo, who is media guy, he said, you wrote the record. I like my record.
He said, yeah, he just caught the most passes, most, most yard in a game. I'd like, really, I like happy I have and is two fourteen. I like red, two fourteen. I'd like, there are some games that I know that we played a CarOlina a one year and I had one seventy four and only seven caches. And IT was snowing like crazy.
And i'm like, mayor, if he wants snowing that day because they cover me man to man with the safety or a mike backer and I would like and that's that's all they shop. Yes, you know, great. What you see your feel yeah and I really going to really try to do this.
Rest sail meals with the middle back at the time I had not not to. Sure up. I want several.
He's training about that. Oh, my good trouble. Yeah, we play buffalo. We play bufo opening year ninety five.
Now, I missed all off season because I had echo surgeon, had ele surgery from taken both ankles. And so I was gazed. Had I been in shape like I came in every year there, I proud I had two fifty.
Could I drop like three passes? Could I was just gas? I was just guess.
But you know, you have those moments where you like, and that's why always tell you you know Better about at the time. But you look back, you like me. I hate three drops. That was a bird cage will book added in two, two of easy, easy.
I I had I had six or seven this past year in terms of drops throughout the entire season. And when you really look at the two of them were end zones and another like like two or three of them wear downfal catches and insist you look at them. You see how many arg you touchdown you had IT was like almost an extra hundred yards and two touchdown.
IT just beat you up. Yeah, beat you up. And I promise you.
you never get over that here. You know, you know.
I ve got to ask you this going to new game you you fill, when can be a big day? Because I hear that from our guys is all the time our receivers 控制板 go, jane, like what do you see this week? And what are you seeing? Is that is that personnel who's they are trying to garage? Or is IT structure or is a .
boat sometimes? Well, for me, i'm looking at like who the garden with as a naba. You you not big enough line back at you, too slow.
So what do they do? And so now for me, what I broke down film, i'd never really looked at the lab backers or the safety guard. Me, I always, always look at the number.
Got to, how does he play? Abbott Lewis really was the guy that got me, told the haul of fame that that made mean, he was cornet with the chiefs, and he was long. He's about six, two and a half, six, three long lamb.
He never gave me a steady out of anything. Sometimes he would father where he just like dancing ball of me, I couldn't get my hands on you. Sometimes he would quick jammy, like he'd be back that bail.
Sometimes he press me, yes. And so he never gave me steady out of anything. And so every so I just like, okay, this is if I can beat him, nobody else can see me, right? But he knew that if I ever got my hands, only IT.
But he did a great job. Yeah, he did a great job of father day study out of of a lot of different things. And so that that was my focus.
Beating him, beating him. And then finally, he was a free agent. And I know, can T.
I? I. It's been money as well. Finally, he live in kof city.
He goes to the right, he goes to the point time i'm killed in the readers. I mean, i'm six four, one year. I needed one hundred and twenty. I need one hundred and twenty one yards to get .
that get about.
I had six catches, one hundred and .
sixteen years and two, and then .
catch another. no.
How many, how many plays did you get in .
the second I played all?
I am saying how many? I get .
another place my way.
I get another place made all. The .
week touch down.
I be, i'll be so do you .
you had who .
had one like that too, was he .
ah he like two?
In the first half?
Yes, I would didn't .
get a .
single book out of. You can break about going to about yeah, but I was too bad. I just know, unlike I would like that I was killed.
I mean, that first have I was killing? Try I I was eating that. Like he mean, he was like he was a hero. I mean, he was. He called a first.
saying he slow.
but he, no, no.
But he would not.
Who have the heart is is right now yeah, he was caught a receiver across the middle. You an account like you no, I .
didn't .
go on the.
He took a home.
You do that.
I would I mean for me um the now that the office or receiver and you can't heat the out, like what is the office or receiver if you ve got to .
help and .
to show to pay so how the well .
no I mean if you if you reach for a ball, but I mean your defenses, right no.
what .
i'm gone gone like a cripple.
but put in you .
whatever have .
you head on a swim and that's like to defend yourself like you say that you and so I see, guys, you got an opportunity to make a play and they let the guy said, and they they fly back. He goes for touch, right? I like bra como. Yeah.
it's not good for the game.
but I get IT because the other don't want another billion doa, two billion dollar concussion lows yeah things that coming out of but I think they tied to to feel too far to the much too. So what what .
would you do in today's .
in the .
people you .
four numbers and there put him in this office, do they the players on depends of changes because .
we talked like, who is the lamb? He said the a really big, but good here.
But you were the same.
You really see anything in gun?
No, no, no, no. But see back if you are lamblike what lambs is. Oh, he got draft in the first round because you can cover.
Most guys are bump ers. Most get lab bag. Want to come down here.
So now you're asking them to cover in space, right? That's not what they do. Are trying to get to the T.
J. Rok, smu guys come right now. Fred, water is Better.
He can be good in space, but freed water is not cover in q he is not covering a kilo or a wall. Yes, he done back. He played that.
He back in the he, he got good, he can drop. So for me, what A B back, I like, but you got no chance really, unless you get help to talk. And you know when I get to, you can get enough that today. But I to come, I don't feel so i'll give you to you to first have and just so you don't feel, look, he left that I will give you to you to second about the king of the day.
Would you would you rather play a really slow player or A A smaller player? You made, you see before safe too small lam bags is too low. Which one you .
would you rather .
pending on what? Yeah, well.
because I I just want them to small like again, i'm trying to get my hands only see the thing with a smaller guy. I want him to think he can get physical. He can get my cheer.
Yeah, because the thing is, i'm never gonna let you score me up. See, is what you screw me up on day. What's that? I give you this. I give you to eight and four m day.
I would just stop the rap. So how do you not give them the in the four .
i'm playing on rangle i'm playing or sad. Yeah, never. Man, yeah, i'm helpful. I'm helpful. Man, i'm even old once that out of your number, i'm the other side number, but i'm not there was probably .
a three games spin that you actually hit me up about about somebody kid in my chest and how I was get off the bus. And it's .
literally what happened every time .
you point with them doing when .
teams are there watching you sno.
The UK live .
square you up? No, but it's literally it's as small as what you're stand. And then on top of that is just being the aggressive right? If if you give the defense the ability to try and react of them, just feel like you're put yourself with the disadvantage.
If you always have the defense reacting to what you're doing, you're gonna have up her hand because that's the timing of the the timing of the road and the ball placement. All that is just going to take IT is going to do his job for, you know, I mean, it's kind like golf. You let the global to work. Good contact.
Maybe that, I mean, you know, my i'm looking. I was constantly ly moving my hands. I would preferably I want him to react for you reach that teach.
But what you reach, i'm grabbing this yeah, is over physically if I get my hands on you is over. Yeah, have a bigger guy. I'm not let you touch me.
In today's a what leaders say you have unbelieved numbers, is that the fact that they pass that much more? Or is IT the way the game called in favor of offence.
both because you have to understand, I think him up fourteen year career, I think I had ten. One thousand are russia. I had two thousand.
You are russia. Seventeen hundred. And pity are russia. IT should put anybody in yeah rca .
seems that was .
crazy ah but that's the way we won the ga me yeah but now you play in so much space. I mean, trial has to spend like eighty percent of this .
time in a flax yeah.
And to be able to stand up and to see, to feel like you see, see that trying. I was okay, may stop. Ya, I oka two, but you going to go to court of you.
I ve going to go to lern. Ya, played too Young. A, played your playing cover six with your kid. yes. So I can see a bit, you have done, understand, when I in a downward tion about my third step, I have they have read a difference yeah now if I want to opposition, I can say already know what you .
go to go to well and you once you remove yourself in the box, they have to declare .
I i'm watching for the TV not like, god, I got cheating down. He come in yeah there's a really what is safety cheating down? I got over trail his cup and like, I know I I already to here with, but I will do .
wanna say face. But another thing that is helped out a lot in terms of just defines a recognition is coach loves to put IT as most. And what that does so the defence have to communicate changes a lot of the rules, especially in the box and and the safety when they come down into the box.
But this is IT. IT helps declare everything. Yes, and we did. I want to say we did one of the dumbest things ever in for a tight in, oh my gosh, we would stand with our hands on our head.
And .
when I do, when I tell you, i've seen guys looking like that, but he was to try and help see what see the to see was going on on the other side, the field. Because when you have your hand in the ground, I mean, you can still kind to see everything, but for the most part, you just seen what's in front, right?
Well, the thing that really helped me is that, because that started out is that read, read the trying all so well out. What the time I get down, where I get down, I like, okay, over front, this is what they they like to play in the overshot is likely what they play in the under front. And so about my first day up, okay, this is what IT deals. Now I go when you say.
read the time, what's I mean, I don't.
I'm looking, i'm looking you, you and you. I'm looking at corner. And yes, safety, safety. I'm looking at the backside. I worry about the backside. De, so are you going to rock role, which means you come down to the world, you can stay.
Then show me that is quarter. Yeah so in right just by you now I got .
I know what I got to do with my right at the end, I give day what you do. As long will not back for hit you ready to get the ball the hardest. Paying for me will to slow myself down, because that would get open with jaw ready to really is a cut back.
You got to slow. yeah. But was like that. You like rock, I am. Progression .
exactly.
though, even regression. Because here the paying one, two, three, okay, the balls can come out. One, two, three, four, five, six come out.
I can't cover you at a five to have a drop and you, I can't throw. So now, okay, thome not got, okay, I got time. I can really sit this guy out and that they was. I'm working on things that practice like and god, the thing that really helped me, if they got a say to determine you to up that, like how you, he said that could tail, you started getting on your toes, yes, is you get on your toes. You break in and out.
Now I got to guess which one but because you state in sad me have to feel that you would go break out yeah so now that that key milk I have to steal him a told yeah if you can beat the guys in practice that see you everyday, they're seen you everyday with three, four, five years come game time, they get no change. I don't care how much film you want, if the intricate seat that you can pick up when you're like you right there yeah like some gas for play. I watch you again and i'm just looking at his feet.
Yes, he square and he's right. He guys a split stagger just a little bit. You can and I know. Yes, stop. Like you are .
coming seriously, I all those little things get up. That's that's a mark where you got a good team. You want three subs with two different teams, two different team in that feed's important for if you see some of your body, you might want to because I am sure that they are going to see you on film or some of you play a bunch .
in your division is going to start to feel that text right? You see you that he will drop good. So you have barely, if you get to a place you can get, you tell .
you a first, second down. Allow those illumine more even up, right? Get ready to defend the run. Also, they drop their football first, second down and you're like, okay, some tips on, yeah, why does this do get in a passion things for a second down? They are looking to tackle tackle state like.
yeah.
here's a whole we got to get that down. I can we have to do right person in the roads.
No one when is passed the right? Yeah, they different levels twist. I got go also like different.
We're give up too much information.
The the line .
thinking about this artist y're.
They're in smart now they use them. not. They are going they used to not be now know what in is the record in the game footage and they getting your verbal. And I think it's happened to more now than I ever used score.
And so now it's on us to really change IT up and and to make IT so that similar calls are happen in run and pass or this play in that place so that you can't get pigeon hold. Every time he says this, they're block and man or men. Every time he says this is a passport ay. Every time he says this is a room body.
you can do that anymore. I one of my best game we play to charges and um je you say every time they say reno on the vote they went to a cover to yeah and so I I say no they go cover to he's like really as they no matter what to up with the over front or another front IT doesn't matter when I hear reno, they go every single snap every time they went to IT I ended the day with I left you put like yes I was an A O C office play.
It's nice.
We talked about about seven.
one pic. Well, stock about no cell ones. Yeah, what was the like get? And draft was IT like one thousand ninety and ninety. What was the like getting draft in ninety? Well.
back then, the draft started on sunday was all on one day.
no.
IT was I think the first two round was sunday, and then the next monday was the rest of the draft. okay. And then when I didn't get drafted IT on sunday, I was at my brother's house in south CarOlina, and so I didn't get draft.
As I remember going off stays. He say, bra, we don't be good. He's like, bra, don't even worry about IT, you know, hey, I got you.
Whatever whatever happens going happen, I say, but I got to say, may I just want an opportunity? So we woke up. I walk, walk up. Next one, I have to live, go live here. So we had.
how do you? How .
do .
you? 高原, what? Even worried .
about IT. So I I am in the organize cup, like I know here here, yeah, is cold ge reef, know is lad hogans? Lad hogans.
At that to time is we just took you in the world around you excited to be a broker. I said, I made up very excited. I really appreciate this.
I said, you guys, they regret this. They called region. The phone court is okay. Uh, no, but your brother and what your brother kat pays for you hear because I expect you to come in to work as a cold read a work card I show you so .
you're in the gym.
I'm in the game working out can a that's .
got to be the most exciting news I have.
You call a .
god to get drafted, ted. And he's in the gym working out. I am happy we got to they .
got to take this so I go to go home, get my bag, seem to go out there yeah and thing I, I, I say, man, and I can go back to glasses I can go back to, I can go back to glib a can go back to the understand i'm not on the raft, man I said, man, I had too much to had a great career of one of state. Nobody believed that. Nobody believed that I can make you from global gorda ano state of that.
Yeah, you the best player here, but you will be the best play in college. You the best player college. you.
I am later for that. So and I got to denver. I just work, work. And I remember we are training count.
And this what I like, I would never do this when I make this team. I never going to do this. I didn't know the play. So I ask, ask me what I got on this rap is they run this. Guess I going there, run IT is wrong.
They called really good reads to get set this big, bigger thing pop that the side of, what do you do in? If you don't know the APP and play, don't go in the game. I just look at the work, but we complete complete for the job.
Yeah, that's crazy.
So I said i'd never had to me do any yes, I I know I would never do anything like that, but using he did on, of course I did IT. I mean.
you could be more job. It's suspicious yeah .
and I know he knew what to do because he was there a year before. I was all good and I just know, just make sure him, because I didn't know here, actually know what do IT from the beginning. But I just want to know equal to just say, I don't know yeah .
prose mentality to say, right there I fuck and pissed I don't know.
Look, when I was important, we have to talk. He, in the first round, I know tight. They got let tide play soon, right of the later. But my job is to get him ready as soon as I possible can, because there's something happened to me during the sea, is going be ready to play.
How is going to be a reflection of me? How will he plays that year? How will he moved plays moving forward? Had a lot to do with the information and little third ties that I help teach him along the way.
So for me, I was never insecure about know somebody to beat for a job, know I tell again all the time. I told him everything he knows. I don't teach everything I know, I say somebody peleton has a unique to keep you on track your .
goals no matter what season of life you're in. And as professional athletes.
we know how chAllenging you could be to adapt your fitness needs to your busy schedule, especially during the nfl season.
Pelton has been a great tool to help me adept my routines in my busy schedule of traveling for money, in my football, podcasting, parenting and everything else. If I go on this year, great for when you're traveling between games at the gym, or when you just need a moment to recover.
Find your push, find your power with pilon at one pill dot com.
That's right. Again, that's one p 点 com。
Hey, i'm right. At min mobile, we like to do the opposite of what big wireless does. They charge you a lot.
We charge you a little. So naturally, when they announced theyd be raising their Prices do to inflation, we decided to deflate our Prices. Do do not meeting you.
That's right. We're cutting the Price. I've mt, unlimited from thirty dollars a month to just fifteen dollars a month.
Give IT a try. Mt, mobile dom flash switch, forty five dollars up from payment equivalent to fifteen dollars per month. New customers on three, one plan only taxes. So are about to give A B, C detail. You draft this receiver.
draft as receiver. Travis.
I think by most of people.
are you going to? I am received. Yes, I think .
people say .
travis is received. What is the difference anymore between the title? Are they like we play a one personnel with the, if he goes out, ridiculous, okay, we do the same thing on a twelve. There are nickle regardless. What is the tight and just a receiver?
Yeah they in certain office, they call a receive and tidy. Now the distinction because they're really like nobody really run the ball, so they're not needing the title to be at the point of contact. Yeah I mean, basically, you know he he's doubling the up going to the safety or a doubling and get up to the backyard.
This gu blocked IT. Think of that nature where he's like responsible, I mean, kit in the point that kill. Yes, he does.
Like you said, those four down eleven events were put in the hands .
to go one on one, a seven technique and put that what I .
just can .
we did. I don't think you can you .
can know you you can have you attach .
if you're attached. You can you you I post them up and then cut them you anymore. They got right way that but as long as you're in the tackle box and within five yr, plus or minus, you can still do IT. But IT doesn't happen that much.
First, first five years in the league, I wish throwing at everybody. I still want to safety.
Oh yeah, oh yeah. But if you go back and watch our tape is like synchro. En, yeah, because that all .
four downland, we don't, when I first got installed, you know, have an option.
Yeah, you cut on the back. absolutely. Because the thing was we were cut back. Teen, yeah.
And T, D needed to know he could cut back in the hilma wouldn't in this here, right? So i'm putting you go on the ground. Yeah, yeah. You go on the ground .
was a hard to separate player cut. You say lateral, they move in atter. Al.
then it's a little bit like, I don't know, I was so quick so I could a and before they know IT and you know they try to get up and up, i'm up under. And so all all i've needed, all that needed was this was the tackle to like, make him .
do this.
Oh, and I mean, I have some great tacos. I mean, both of my tackles in hall of fame, gar zimmermann, with the two tab, all little failed player in the eighty and the in the jaa argument, was decay today. Yeah, eight to nine of exam. N, G, O was and I said, look at, i'm common yeah, i'm coming so I know and i'll cut you. I don't want to yeah, I don't want you Better yeah is a diamond .
really is. And it's a shame that I don't the end of those always trying to make the game safer here, but I always felt like that prevented the if you're out of control, you can get up. Yes, if you're under control and moving like latter is a hard person to cut you.
So in a way, now guys can go out of control. What's the harm? And going out of control now at the second level alone, beg, run, right? Do you face without.
haven't worry about anything before? And on the second Alice o line run game corner, yeah, had to put. And that's what IT draws me crazy with Greens to see office alone and try to stay up just that .
you can't anymore.
can't more you can cut, really.
It's elephants on right out there in space. May be IT is not a good site, right? I used to love that. I used to .
love cut down space.
I can do that anymore. You can only within .
five yards in the world you can do IT if .
it's like a middle screen, right? But it's it's risky.
Yeah yeah, they outlaid .
a few .
years ago. So that's what I have. Like why you?
Yeah because before the same thing used not be an option, right? I listen, you're too fat and slow, right to try and redirect with this man in space, use .
that like I I, you to do do that .
too yeah but you can't cut me more out space on yeah anyways, I don't know how just go to .
a site traffic about once the last time you cut give .
IT at least one .
time .
to allow that cut too now yes yes you know um the spot, tom yeah the trying to outlaw that go on back and cut the D M. Because a couple guys to the needs of blast.
what the ends are just come back now I know and then .
it's just two guys trying to cut each other, which is always funny to see, just like two guys. But yeah, I don't know I don't know where we're .
going with IT.
but I like, well, that's enough to cotton. We're two brothers in the ana film. You very notoriously had a brother in the nfl. Yeah, what was like heaven still in the nfl as an older brother lead the way.
And IT was different because my brother really to have a very different relationship. It's almost like he's my father really. Because my father died at a Young age. My grandfather died at a Young age. And so the dominant milk figure that I saw on the regular basis for him, and I wanted to be just like him.
And how? What was the age difference?
Three years, three years, three years. Everything I went, everywhere he went, I wore every number that he wore. I wanted to be just like my brother and me, my college girlfriend, just like he's college girlfriend.
Yes, i'm come back from the heroes down. I'm from from the way he was built, a can completion her team. They were exact.
I would. I even think about IT. I didn't think about IT yeah, until I brought a home. And my SHE like that girl look just like Tammy, which was my brother's girl friend. I was like, I really think .
about IT, but what did .
you think about? But that was great because he told me everything that I needed to know. And he was always that brother, I told me what I needed to know and not what I wanted to hear.
And he would always like, he would always found a way to my basketball games. He would always find a way to come back and see a basketball game. The track meets, he would drive three hours just to see me run.
He always went to the state track me. So, okay, is what we going to do. You can help.
You know, because you got got to this, you know, I was a fail of bit. And guy, he says, okay, you only one jump, you only got two jumps. You got a one trip with specially. He said you've got to win IT on the first to say a jump because you still got a long jump later today and you ve got through a disk also.
So ah and we still got to run later today also, so we ve got to say these legs and so that was the nail efforts jump went to meet with the state with with that jump. And then when I got to college, I was going to go to vana state because of that IT. I was property went to effect that here in one thousand nine hundred eighty six o so if you didn't make seven on S.
A, T, you couldn't go to be one. And so at that time I was like, I had already landed up. I was going take the test.
I was going go to the airforce. And my brother came down, says, you will say a seven day deal interest as a year. Go today with A E.
S. Scholarship as long without one of IT. You said you going to go to about the state and you going to go for a year. And if you don't like IT, you could say, hey, I wait and IT wasn't for me. I went in interest as they say, history.
So when i'm going go go to the league, he said, this what you need to do, this how you need to prepare he says, now, john, we can come to you one day. He said, you going to need to know what to do, and you need to make platform. When he does, cut to you OK.
So he was always constantly tly reminding me of things that I needed to do. He believed in me even more so little that I believe myself I am, he'd always tell me for he would always without the high school, he said he Better athlete to me. He just not work hard.
When I got to college, I would go with with him at universities at elana he would always say he a bit athlete to me ah, but don't don't work hard to know and that I was like me is he like really boosted me up or he does he really believe that? Yeah I was just like, just naturally talented that I can just like, okay, you show me what to do. I'm A A visual learner.
You show IT to me OK. I can, I can do that right? And so and this, like me, I think he might believe that i'm more talent and was and not that I look back at, i'll had more god given ability than he.
He just worked hard than I did IT. And so once I combined the god giving ability, ability, a god gave me with my work ethic. And i'd like me, but I could really be.
And I saw my body transform, and I was like, I always, I always like in shape. I've always had muscle. I always with add up, but not all the sun.
I'm going from one eighty to one ninety, what else to two or five what I have to do, twenty what I have. And i've like you. I, I, I arrived now and sold out out.
Many, many is the greatest day I just hate. And I tell these people all of that, I would trade my career every day that i've ever earned to switch places with my brother because he deserved to be. Where am yeah in the proof? By holiday in, I brought my heart when he told me he was never going to be able to play the game again.
I played football, football with my war sport in high school. In all the reason I played, because he played, and I want to be like him, I was a much Better baseball player. I was a much Better track athlete, but I pup all because my brother play a man.
He brought my heart when he said he was over and is like me. Now I got to continue the sharp legacy. I got to go places and do things that what he was doing cover at that time, you know, he was, he and Jerry, nick mic know he had want to trip a crown.
He had LED the legal in reception three times. He had LED the legal receiving yours twice. He LED legal touched down to White. And then just like that, his last year he was called eighteen touchdowns, ninety four hundred .
one thousand years.
and never plan to. Sp, at twenty og. That was over.
Still a legend. Dry career though. yeah. The even in the short, the the amount of games that he played in.
Is there anything looking back, you wish you had been able to do with them in the end, outside of him having success? Two games as a brother.
like two years after he retired, we played Green, made of superb. And so we do in the end of you and I say we win this game. He didn't know IT at the time.
I have will give me, I will give me marine. And so that was my proud of all the things that i've gifted and not gifted. A lot of things, you know, helped. A few college people are along the way. You I mean, yeah, that's problem. The thing that i'm proud of, up of all the gift that i've given in my life, yeah, giving my brother that first super ball ring, that MIT the world, maybe because IT MIT more to me to give IT to him, then I would have ever meant to meet for winning IT.
Did you feel like he was almost just a big of .
a part of you will. Yeah, yeah. Absolutely, absolutely. I don't have the career that I had.
Had he not been my older brother, I would not have a career that I had had not given me the support he gave me just enough to make me hungry. You try to go get you. yeah.
Ah, he's three years old to me, but he's two. He precedes me in inner fail. So, you know, he has an m3 B, M, W, A, let me get that come.
IT, so i'm driving on campus. Abc, you would. And three, he has a nine thirty sand.
no. POS. Three, with three, with three, thirty eight thousand of back whale.
Ty, come get IT. Yeah, he has big beings. Come get IT.
yes. And i'm like, I got held. yes. yeah. S O, come get. So i'm thinking to us, I won't out sometimes.
You know, people like they looked is like, what would you like living in a shadow? I said I didn't. I was never in a shadow.
W I embraced, yeah, I was his little brother. Er and I wanted to be like him and I wanted to clips what he had done. So i'd never felt over shadow.
And so he knew. That if I just gave me him a little is gonna have to go get IT. So every every card and my brother get I won't get IT for ri, you would output in the pool house. You know, I in two hundred thousand.
I got two. We not recommend this.
but what we were talking about, our own club, say, this is how I went broke. I went for first year.
Yes, I got five hundred. I got a for ri. I got, uh, six hundred thousand on a career. And I got a, uh, uh, what I have a what to a blazer make IT three, twenty five and you three.
So my brother, when he got to league, there was a he was working with a car dealership, having been up and filling and and he had just boat an f one fifty brand to f one fifty, and maybe me, I totally ed the car that I had in college. So I was walking around on campus and he knew, he knew I needed a car, drives his f one fifty down, known that he was going to get a dealership car to to right around, fill IT off for you.
Yeah, what? What do I do? Like a made up. I got this really nice car. I wasn't traveling because I had this kind of hop, was just given me to campus and back. So I take the car within the first ten hours of me having the vehicle, I go, I go up to, you know, visit the bombo room .
with the .
strip club, came back out of the ship.
What have when you left the trip club from that car was going? Let the keys in the car, the keys in the car.
He didn't tell me there was a spare key in the glove compartment. I had the key. I just didn't lack the car.
First of all, he, he told me that what did you tell? You told me something that was fuse. What you don't initially, would you tell me initially that was you lied to me initially did yes, like always.
always as my first go to yes.
really. And I told the insurance company where he .
had told me right in the insurance company. Now that's not what happened on the car two months ago.
Nobody forced the way in.
lose vehicle.
Well, here and you talk the way you about, we did get back, did you back? You also ran IT into the ground and and .
broke down within a couple years .
after to get to my student. IT makes sense that this is how you talk to Young players or to talk to current guys like to have like I know I think that his impact on you and how you felt, uh, you try to do that, all the place is very clear and as well say appreciate .
you reach out the trial so supposed .
be playing this was supposed be as H A former player, uh, older player on a team like in .
every in every field, in every field. Whether it's business, whether it's i'm trying to help anybody be the best version of themselves .
yeah I don't what a lot of times I like. I've talk to guys and I don't really tell people who I talk to because I don't want the guy to think that, oh, you telling people that you help with me.
you want to just so always, oh.
no problem so i'm i'm very conscious yes not to say like I talk to search and search unless you know like I would talk to life is jill and is like A I I don't care yeah but for the most part of if I talk to a again, i'd never mentioned on air because what we talk about IT just between here and if just like sometimes like do you mind if I mentioned i'd like I restart to him to children there are some things that I saw that he was doing that you might help him ah and he's like you appreciate you game the firms up.
You like appreciate IT that's for the most part that's what I do. I just I just feel like you know is my job is to give back, right is to help those guys be the best they can possibly be and hopefully win. They're in a position and they can help and they can give back. They give back. I don't do me any good to .
have knowledge that I know can .
help someone and not share IT o super bowl .
teams out of those three super ball teams, i'm just going to pick the two. The braces rave in those teams. If they go at IT who's win.
we team .
my mom only .
not that .
was this one.
You go.
I will say this is that rain of defence. You can't play defend like they played back the end, right? If you go back and look, they play four playoff games and they gave three, ten, three, seven can do anymore. And now seven came onto a kick return. If you go back and look at IT was like, point point pot pig pop pip, point point pig, point point down.
Wasn't IT wasn't IT like he was that writing games the season?
They didn't allow a touch. Not only they not allow a touchdowns.
this score to we were not mean I was like, well, I think to thank for them the deficit if you quoted back, finish the gay you can consider you want because they was not in a quarter back. They knock your quarter back back again. That's fucking football right there.
Yeah, bring back that. They gave up a we're not that then. I don't want to do this anymore. They give one hundred and sixty five points .
in sixteen .
in one hundred and sixty five points in sixteen games. Oh my gosh. Now you do realize pick sixes.
Go against their total. I didn't know that. yes. okay. Yeah.
that's amazing. They gave they gave up that you're been an average .
at ten points again. Yeah, they gave up. If you look at what they actually gave up, they gave up three points to the brokers in the player game.
They gave up ten. They gave up three. They gave up sixteen points that deeds and four games. And I mean, IT was umbly watched.
And I talked about IT. One of the highlights of my career welcome f moments was blocking in playing against rather was yeah like, I mean, i'd never forget that because I grew up playing loud background, just wanted to be red Lewis was like my idol, actually, I wanted to be in life. And a to be actually blocked at him was crazy. yeah. And I remember watching those baltimore freak defenses IT IT was he was insane.
Ah they were so good. Yeah they literally went to the game trying to knock your quarter back out. And for the most part, they did.
They did IT. I mean, they had I think they had like four edas that year. They gave up one game.
They gave up open and driver. I think of the cleveland, like several shoot outs, they gave up eighty six yards. And the open and drive, they gave up fifteen yards.
The rest of the game, fifty. And how demoralizing that would be.
scoring ten point peri's, already demoralized .
I can only the fitting. We should just be run a quote, action.
every play we have more than you he mentioned. Welcome to the leave. Do you have a welcome to league moment mappers here there we played the forty nine us into preseason. They had just beat the bronco to previous in the sub o fifty five teen. So now I got a chance to see joe monta s Jerry rice.
I I .
like mate rally lot like me, I am up to see to see j run down the sale, to see je run down the sale lot. And then later that year, I did not with my favor player growing up to see ossie IT was just like to see guys that you saw on television and then like going out to the radars and you see the radar and you see our David, and you see James gona, who within the rock for file. And then you saw the radar is, and the way they head IT like you come out the tonal and the child like forty land.
they designed like.
That you would a here out .
of the game.
I to be all special teeth, but I was distracted. That was that you see and guys and you know you play as stealers, and you see you Green, and you see Frankl haris, and you see all the great that you saw, like growing up, and you see these guys, although, you know, they were in, but they added my rookie year, wester, my wester, yeah, was the center for the cheese that tried.
He dig, go to the cheese for a couple years. Yeah, I mike .
and he ahead of rode he jack, yeah, yeah, no yeah he was. I mean.
that the old time probably yeah well.
I mean, still he many dolson know Stevenson up up.
Um there are some dogs so it's already to give IT to one guy. But I think let me put IT this way. When I came in a league Howard mud institute, one rule as the center, he was my jadoo.
He was called the way. And the webby was, uh, when the ball had spotted and we break the subtle, you don't walk alone, you run to the line. And the reason that we did that because my website, and when you have a rule named after somebody you want of .
the good I was taking to back him in jim model, one hundred anniversary teen, yeah, I think him in out .
the double legal here.
If it's yes, let let's get to this lack section. This is you don't have to answer IT, but we got okay, okay. First one is previously on this on this show, we asked, could an average person rush for one yard in the nfl? So we're asking you right here, right now, could si balus get a single yard in the national football give you gave him? no.
I'm not saying because because these aage no way they go to let him go. They're going to go out of their way. Yes, so sure the house to go back so that that was.
you want a super bowl rain in .
jane stadium has I feel if we we want, I, I, we've got to .
lose because I smoke. Yes, I did. I didn't like .
the can is going off. And no.
And so who's a Better just for you?
You know, you guys were just, I got to the party. I you do .
I you 知道吗?
我的 网名 我 还 蛮 男人的。
那 you get。 我的 屁, 我 this is the .
grass country that。
I, you problem, you do the N.
F, L player play in the MBA and vice versa. Could MBA player play in the .
interview play or be effective?
It's a great question. I would say be effective, like make a name, making my household name. No, no, neither way MBA in the N, A, L. I don't know if you have .
ever been to a, the N, B, A game, but if you just wipe the way to first, I said to watch the thirtieth guard of the way he can shoot back out. He has a .
different way. He's saying the same thing that worth .
saying that i'm saying he ying, could he be effective?
Could somebody go there and IT up as the best ticking of professional orts is court side on .
the on the floor.
okay. The first time I ever watch that was was the day I realized nobody I .
will come out and I gona happen and definite no Better from .
the NBA go and out there I know.
do what I don't play. Time didn't do that. Gates and gonzo played. So IT was. But you tell .
both a none of you all the ball .
you don't .
want to get .
up press if they do have they go .
Price of all because .
you want to use you. You've had legendary .
guess on close, say, who would be your dream? Guess that you haven't .
got on I got a few personal, obama would be one.
a criminal right there.
Then there washington would be too. The rock would be three. Named lot by the say Opera would be that's .
a dam good list. I mean, god, I don't know that I .
heard a Better to listen that that that be right. Well, we have .
one last .
question from this big idea here.
If you could talk to you a Ricky self, what would you, what advice would you give you?
sure. Wish my mom would have waited ten years. You know what I mean out? What would I tell us? Feel I don't know.
Get honestly, guys, from the time that I made IT. yeah. Everything was about football.
Yeah, I A A slip, a breed, a top football. And I think I was terrible. And a lot of things excel football.
I was terribly being a brother, terribly bit a son. I was terrible a father. I was terribly a bit a boy for IT.
I was terribly all of those, but I was the day of good football player. Yeah probably I wish. I could. Look, I would go back to tell my room itself.
I would say the way you judge success, because everything that I look at now is judge by success, and that's the only thing. So even my relationships, not here I am, about to be double nicklin about four months, is still judge by excess. And so I would say shanna, everything that you accomplished doesn't mean anything because you'll never having to buy to share IT with. That's what I would tell myself I would do. If I would do IT over again, I would find that one person in that what we .
do and too late.
No, no, no. Ah.
look Better. Me.
you know, here, here. Yeah.
I know, share. We say, OK, I like that. Yes.
I show.
I close the show. The you like my brother, but we're like, so I mean, we're similar, but we're so different here. We're so different. You like you married all out early here, me.
He's more talented and more athletic, addressed a lot of, a lot of things going. This is an only thing. what? What does the man doing now?
golf? He's golfing, and he's a golf for me, a mountain. He's, he's, he's a scratch golfer.
Very good. Yes, he plays everyday. Yeah he's like, he's like most agri. He prays his as much as IT as a uh uh .
two or pro ww.
you got range ship in plant and you can get IT to IT nova. I my hobby is in a jail. That's what I like. I like to work out as you give lessons .
because I can't play.
I need that for me for you can have the way to you do IT because you too tied up here. You've got to be able to be blew IT. I know that's what a quarter becker. They don't really do the upper body, so they blew IT. They can.
they can do IT think IT hips around, get the movement in the chess. Yeah, yeah. That is, I did take one less, and I taking lessons, a google lesson.
And the one thing that I took from at the goal process um when you get done, you plan to losing weight. yes. Yeah come back when you.
Do that well.
