噪音監視系統將擴大 'Noise Camera' System To Be Expanded
You've probably heard this sound before…
Vehicles (車輛) are everywhere.
Many people need vehicles to get to work, to buy food, and to do almost anything outside of big cities.
But some vehicles are so loud (大聲) that they are causing problems for people who live nearby!
This is called "noise pollution" (噪音汙染).
So, earlier this year, Taiwan's government started to install some new technology around busy roads. 今年初，政府開始在交通繁忙的道路旁邊安裝新的科技產品。
They are cameras that can detect (偵測) which vehicles are too loud!
When a vehicle's noise (噪音) goes up to a certain level, the camera will take a picture of it.
Then, that vehicle's driver will get a fine (被開罰單).
And so far (到目前為止), around 700 people have gotten fines for their vehicles being too loud.
The fines (罰款) can be up to 3,600 NT.
And they can be 30,000 NT more, if the vehicles are found to be modified (改裝過).
Now, most people support the new noise camera system, and are happy to see Taiwan fighting noise pollution. 大部分人都支持這個噪音偵測系統，並且很高興看到社會反抗噪音汙染。
People hope this system can help keep Taiwan peaceful, and let people sleep more easily at night.
Until then… we might just have to cover our ears!
紐西蘭魔法師 丟掉飯碗 New Zealand Wizard Loses His Job
We hear about wizards (魔法師) all the time in movies, books, and other stories.
And not many people have seen a wizard in real life…
Except for some people in New Zealand (紐西蘭), where one man has been a wizard for more than 20 years!
But something recently happened to this wizard…
He was fired (被開除了)!
It's already very unusual for someone to work as a wizard for their career (職業).
Every year, this man was paid around 10,000 New Zealand dollars (相當於二十萬台幣的酬勞) for his magical work.
He would cast spells to bring rainy weather to dry places, and he would bless sports teams to help them win games. 他會運用魔法，給乾旱的地方來帶雨水，也會給運動團隊祝福，幫他們贏得比賽。
So, why was he fired from his job?
Well, it turns out he wasn't a very nice person.
After the "Lord of the Rings" movies (魔戒電影) made wizards very popular, he would speak to lots of people who wanted to meet a real one.
But a lot of the things he said were very mean (尖酸刻薄)!
People asked him to stop, but he was too stubborn. 很多人請他不要那樣講話，但是他很頑固，還是照講不誤。
So, finally, New Zealand's government (政府) decided to stop paying him.
People aren't sure what he'll do now, but we can still learn something important from this story.
It doesn't matter if people think you're magical, or special…
You still have to be a good person!
魷魚遊戲創Netflix紀錄 Squid Game Makes Netflix History
A recent television show has broken a streaming record.
Squid Game debuted on Netflix in mid-September.
The South Korean show quickly became one of the most popular programs on the platform.
It set the record for the biggest launch (開創) ever on Netflix.
魷魚遊戲九月在Netflix開始串流，很快就創觀看次數紀錄。
Netflix says Squid Game was watched 111 million times in less than a month.
That smashes (打碎) the previous record, held by the show Bridgerton.
That show had 82 million views in its first 28 days.
There is now talk of doing a second season for Squid Game.
魷魚遊戲上映後前二十八天就被觀看一億一千一百萬次。
