The Federal Trade Commission has initiated an inquiry into tech companies' use of censorship. It aims to understand how companies decide what content to block users from seeing. The FTC said companies' procedures around deciding what to block can be unpredictable and potentially harm consumers and hurt competition, adding that censorship by tech platforms is...

The FTC issued a request for information from consumers who would like to publicly comment about platforms limiting their ability to share ideas or affiliations, including consumers who've been banned from platforms. Alibaba Group has posted its fastest revenue growth since 2023, aided by its artificial intelligence strategy. Despite fierce competition,
and a slowing Chinese economy, the e-commerce company beat analysts' estimates and reported a 7.6% rise in third-quarter revenue to about $38.5 billion. CEO Eddie Wu said the results reflected the substantial progress in Alibaba's user-first, AI-driven strategies and the resumption of strong growth in its core businesses.
And analysts have identified Lenovo as a key beneficiary of Chinese startup DeepSeek's emergence. The world's largest PC maker plans to leverage DeepSeek's recent breakthrough to propel growth for its AI-enabled products.
Lenovo introduced several AI products last year. The PC maker said earlier this week that it has integrated DeepSeek's latest technology into its devices, including its AI PCs, AI tablets, and AI smartphones.
