在东京“维新号”，我见到了这家餐厅的第三代传人，一位长得像梁家辉的老先生，他的祖父20世纪初从宁波闯荡到日本，尽管已是改良过的宁波滋味，但或许仍然存续着一百多年前的某种味道。
印象中宁波人总有一种不紧不慢的东西，有着自己的腔调。过去这里叫明州，早在1000多年前就是一个通往世界的重要港口，这为它带来物质上的丰裕和富庶；天一阁则代表另一种江南文化的传统。物质和智识上对往昔的确认，给予这座城市某种内在的镇定。
在三江口散步，你会想起那个影响了中国近代历史的英国人赫德，而他最初的海关学徒生涯，是在宁波度过的；在海外，又会经常意外发现宁波人的漫游与冒险精神，“华人世界船王”包玉刚，横滨中华街的“红帮裁缝”，东京的“维新号”……他们构成一个在全球背景之中的宁波，不同代人之间有着千丝万缕的关联以及微妙的感受，这些都值得一层一层地重新展开。
当然，宁波也很好吃，读苏青写宁波美食的文章念饿了。我想这是一个很适合去改书稿的地方，那种现代与往昔的交错感，会带来很多不同的遐想。
