But my dreams soon turned into a nightmare. Bloom generally targeted people with money. And I was not alone. He took in over 100 people for over $15 million. One of the victims was his own grandmother.
David had a Bentley and a chauffeur. There was a British secretary that answered his office phone. He walked in off the street by eight months and he had broken company records. David was a genius. I was married to David for almost 10 years. It was insane. I was barely functioning. And I just had this realization that he will not stop until he kills me.
But I figure this grifter out before he realizes it, and I start recording every lie. We're selling you the 26 and a quarter next Monday. And then 10 days later, you'll have a wire transfer check. Every con. Hey, Steve. It's David. I'm going to put you on speakerphone and introduce you to Caroline.
and every manipulation. "I love you. Whatever you need until that money comes in, you just tell me, I'll hand it to you, okay?" "He just thinks I'm just a freaking dummy." "But now the tables have turned. Like, he doesn't know that you know, and now you're playing him." Getting a con artist to pay for their crimes isn't easy. "Charge David Blum! David Blum's a scammer!" But I'm not gonna stop until I bring this con man to justice. "Get out here, David!"
