毕淑敏：我将生命比作一张借记卡，时间如同卡上的余额，不断减少却无法得知具体剩余多少。我们出生时就拥有这张卡，但我们不知道它的总额，也不知道它何时会用尽。因此，我们应该珍惜时间，合理安排，在必要支出（睡眠，饮食等）之外，思考如何利用剩余的黄金时段。
这张卡不会透支，时间只会减少不会增加。即使我们知道平均寿命，也无法精确计算自己剩余的时间。所以，在不知道自己有多少时间的情况下，精打细算就显得尤为重要。我们需要在睡眠、饮食、运动、社交等方面合理分配时间，但不能太吝啬，否则会变成冰冷的机器。
我们应该珍惜生命中的每一刻，不要后悔花在看似无用的时间上的光阴，因为正是这些看似无用的零碎之处，让生命更有烟火气。临走时，我们希望看到的是一张充满回忆和经历的‘借记卡’，而不是一张空空如也的卡。
