Welcome to the Boost Your Biology podcast. What is up, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back to the Boost Your Biology podcast. Today, I have a special guest joining me in the studio. We have Miro Henzel. Miro, welcome to the podcast. Hi, guys. Good evening. Awesome. Where are you joining us from, Miro? Yeah, I'm joining from Krakow in Europe. Right now, I'm traveling. Nice to be on your podcast, Lukas.
Yes, thanks for making the time. Well, first of all, I just wanted to mention that thank you for doing what you do on YouTube. I mean, I've noticed that you've created a lot of content around like PSSD, anhedonia, testosterone optimization, herbal extracts. I mean, what got you into this particular space yourself?
When I was 33, I needed to fix myself. My father is a doctor and I was struggling a lot because I was using a lot of these 5-alpha reductase inhibitors and I messed all of my hormones and so on. So I ended up with 150 nanograms per deciliter of total testosterone.
I had a lot of mental issues and so on, so I decided that I want to fix myself. And during this journey, I learned so much about hormones and all other things that
Later on I tried to also help other guys, okay, just to, you know, fix their hormones, mental health and all these kind of things. Even for some guys, they want to enhance their sexual life and so on, okay. So I did all of that and finally it became a passion for me, you know, so...
I'm not really extrovert so I'm not enjoying the YouTube that much but I think I have seen many of your videos for example on PSSD and you are warning people for many herbs lately I have seen one of your video on metal and blue okay so I think there must be coaches that are
are telling not only the one side, but they're also showing not only benefits, but also the risk. And I want to be one of these guys that will also show the risk. And I have seen many of your videos that are also showing the risk of things like ashwagandha. I personally also don't like ashwagandha.
And right now there is a big trend for metal and blue. And I am really glad that we both have a video about metal and blue because there are also risk. Okay, so people need to understand that every supplement, even herbal supplement, there are certain risks. Okay, so yeah, that's exactly right, man. I've always wanted to sort of create very balanced content. So I'm not just on
on one side of the fence, like I want to try and share like, here are the pros, here are the cons, it's up to you to make a decision. Like methylene blue, yes, it's very popular at the moment, like a lot of people are supplementing with it. I think most people are taking way too much as well. And it's a powerful monoamine oxidase inhibitor. So you and I know that anything that raises serotonin too much is not good, not good for many reasons.
Especially if you take other supplements or herbs that are increasing testosterone per se. So you need to be really careful with that kind of supplements. And methylene blue, because you also mentioned that methylene blue is blocking nitric oxide. So methylene blue is also first help if you have a trypism. So long-lasting erection. Okay.
Be careful, okay? So if you want to have better, you know...
want to be better in gym. Okay, so definitely you should not take large doses of metal and blue. Now, Miro, you mentioned when you were younger, did you take oral finasteride? Like were you taking it for hair loss? Topical, oral, I took ketoconazole, all these kind of things. At that time, I didn't know that these kind of things can cause something bad.
that strong. Okay. So I also took Sol Palmetto because many guys, they think Sol Palmetto is...
maybe some normal herb okay so helping with prostate but sopalmetto can be as strong as finasteride okay so i i had many clients also just taking sopalmetto and i have seen the blood test and it's it really has a huge impact on hormones for example and 5-alpha reductase enzyme especially yeah
Yeah, this is a big topic. I mean, I've sort of tried to educate about the 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, the dangers of using them. So talk us through like what you faced in terms of the difficulties and challenges when you started, like how soon after treatment did you notice symptoms and what were they?
Unfortunately for me the symptoms came pretty late. I was using these drugs without any side effect for years. In small doses, but it
It took, I think, two to three years to start to having first side effects. Okay. So probably it was because my basic androgens were high. Okay. Because I also see in my clients that if they have high androgens and so on,
or they are on TRT, they don't have so many side effects. But if you are unhealthy, if you have a lot of inflammation, oxidative stress, if your hormones are low, then you are getting side effects pretty soon. I have seen guys that had side effects after two doses of finasteride. And I have seen guys...
you know, taking finasteride or dutasteride is much harder, okay, on the system than finasteride because many guys, they don't understand, but dutasteride can block up to 80% of your 5-alpha reductase activity, okay? So you need to be really careful. Also, right now, we have some viral supplements like lion's mane. It
it can do the same, you know. I think Astaxanthin is another one supplement that is quite popular but can really block 5-alpha reductase enzyme. Green tea extract for example, okay, so there are many many natural supplements that can also block 5-alpha reductase activity. So palmetto is probably the the worst one, yeah.
I agree. I agree. Yeah. There's a lot of guys out there thinking that, yeah, so they can sort of use saw palmetto in replacement of like finasteride and things like that. But, but they don't realize that. What's, what do you think is happening? Do you think it's like, there's some sort of like, do you, have you explored the mechanisms? Like why it's so long lasting for some guys? Like, why is it? It's not just as soon as they stop symptoms reverse, like,
They get the symptoms, they're ongoing. What do you think is happening? The first thing is that this finasteride or dutasteride stay too long in the system. For some guys, it can take six months to two years to get the finasteride out of the system completely. So the first thing, as soon as you can detox finasteride and dutasteride,
the sooner you will get some relief, let's say. Okay. And also, also the problem is that many guys, if they take finasteride and dutasteride, they, um,
health was not in great shape. Because that's the reason why you have hair loss and all these kind of things. For example, if you have high prolactin, if you have low IGF-1, then your
hair will not be okay. So I am 47, my hair are still complete, you know, I'm not using any of these kind of things, but I always try to look at my hormones. Okay. So IGF-1, prolactin and all these kind of things. And the reason why so many guys have side effects that their basic health was not okay. Okay. So
And suddenly if you put on that Finasteride, Dutasteride, I think the main mechanism is blocking 5-alpha reductase enzyme activity. That's the main reason. Okay. And this is also blocking neurosteroids. So you also have negative effect on your mood and you have anxiety, depression and all these kind of things.
And also what, what frustrates me a lot is when, when I talk about this in sort of medical spaces, they'll say that it's like, this is a placebo effect. It's happening. It's just in their head sort of thing. Like these aren't real manifestations of symptoms. Like they're just, it's, it's all in their head sort of thing. So like,
I mean, both you and I know that this is a biochemical change. Like it's a physiological response to having low DHT or low allopregnenolone. How is that in your head? Yeah, so it's definitely not something in your head. So it's definitely a real disease, let's say, because...
I worked recently with one guy, okay, and I saw his hormones at the beginning when he started his journey with finasteride and dutasteride, okay? So he has really great hormones, testosterone about 1,000 and so on. So it was really great, okay? But he was afraid that maybe he will lose weight.
He's young. He wants to be attractive. So his doctor told him, okay, take Finasteride. And maybe three months after he started to take Finasteride, his testosterone level dropped by 50%. Wow. 50%, and he has like – before, his DHT was like 150 nanogram per deciliter. And after like three months or so,
his DHT was like at 80. Okay. So it's all also like 50% drop, but after he started to took a dutasteride, okay. So he DHT dropped almost to like 20. Okay. And this is like the reference range right now. It's saying like 25 to 80, but 25 is like,
maybe good value for a woman, okay, but not for a man, yeah? So definitely- Did he have symptoms? Like what were his first noticeable symptoms that he had?
He especially had erectile issues, okay? Yeah. Erectile issues because DHT is extremely crucial for penile tissue health, okay, for nitric oxide and all these kind of things, okay? Because if you have less DHT, you can also develop fibrotic tissue in your penile tissue, okay? Also, you have less neurosteroid, iron,
aloe, for example, but also DHT metabolites. And also these DHT metabolites are also responsible for our mood and all these kinds of things. Yeah, no, definitely, definitely. In terms of interventions and experiments or treatments, yes, of course, we need to stop using any sort of over-the-counter DHT blockers or pharmaceutical DHT blockers in these cases, but
I mean, you've covered some pretty cool herbs on your channel. You've spoken about one that we were talking about before, one of those being catuaba. Do you want to just sort of share how did you come across catuaba and what are you excited about? Yeah, catuaba, generally, I always try to experiment myself with all these kinds of herbs. And catuaba is really...
Many people think that Catuaba is like aphrodisiac. It is. It is, of course, it is. But for me, Catuaba belongs to the range of adaptogens. It's similar like Tribulus because Catuaba, what it does, it does not only work on your
sexual functioning and so on but it also help with viruses okay it helps with like social anxiety and all this kind of thing so it's regulating mood it's helping with other general health and so on you know so it's a really nice supplement uh and generally i don't think many
I don't think there are some really risk with Catuaba, okay? Because I like that kind of supplements, okay? Not every supplement is for everyone, okay? Like we already talked before, like ashwagandha and all these kind of things. But Catuaba is a really versatile supplement helping with many, many things, you know?
Yeah, I like it. I like it a lot. When I first tried it myself, I mean, it was very, very obvious that it was producing like a dopamine related effect in terms of like, you know, mood, confidence, social, like social anxiety, that sort of stuff. It just makes you feel like you're socially dominant, basically, like you just feel really confident, a bit more witty, a bit more fun. But I think, yeah, like you said, it's
Like there's many different supplements out there, but I think Catuaba is one of those ones that most guys, if they try it, they'll probably get a good, like a positive effect. Yeah, yeah, yeah, positive effects, yeah. And very unlikely, yeah. Also one positive effect is for some guys, for example, for older guys, they want to increase penile sensitivity and Catuaba can do that, yeah? Because...
There are many other supplements that can help with penile sensitivity if you want to have this enhanced feeling during, you know, what. But Catuaba is one of the supplements that can enhance sensitivity. But you need to take it at least for two months and more, okay? You need to give supplements some time, okay, to get the most benefits. Exactly, yeah. What else, Miro, have you sort of –
leveraged or utilized quite a lot over the years? Are there certain supplements where you're like almost guaranteed that the guy will respond well to? Like, for example, it might be boron. It might be tonka dali. Like, are there certain herbs or supplements that you think no matter who I'm prescribing to,
this will lead to a positive effect. Thorin is one of my favorite supplement. It's really it's Swiss knife amongst supplement, okay? Because it's working on so many levels. It's incredible because it can like enhance inos, okay? So inos is extremely crucial for
Also, it can improve in smokers, for example. It can improve endothelial lining health together, for example, with vitamin C, with high doses of vitamin C. It can have a really positive effect on your mood. So taurine, I personally was using also supplementation.
But I try to get food that is high in taurine. But sometimes I also use supplements. But taurine is really great one. My also favorite one is tribulus.
Okay, but Bulgarian, the real one, the percentage of protodiosin is extremely important. Okay, but I like many supplements. Okay, I also when I was down with when I had this mood issues and so on, rhodiola, rhodiola helped me a lot. But you also need to be careful with rhodiola, you need to cycle and all this kind of thing. So
you should not take rhodiola with stimulants. Rhodiola can really help also with thyroids, can help also with cortisol and all these kind of things. And catuaba is really interesting one and catuaba also goes very well with
mura puama okay so it's great combo so if you want to get the most benefits of katuaba so then you can also try to combine it with more mura puama it's a hard one i know it's like a mura puama it's a bit of a bit of a mouthful
I agree, man. I agree. Taurine's amazing. Tribulus can be used. I think, yeah, Catawaba, as you mentioned, Rhodiola is very powerful for like energy. But I think like there are some common supplements that I think a lot of guys are using, like they're overdosing on zinc.
or they're taking too much magnesium like are there any ones like that you think guys are making mistakes with? Yeah zinc definitely you are fully right so zinc if you go over then you probably also block 5 alpha reductase enzyme that's the big one magnesium I agree if your cortisol is low
And for example, if you are taking magnesium in early hours, it makes no sense. Okay. So also I think you mentioned one of your video, you mentioned, I think vitamin D, vitamin D when you should take it and so on. Okay. So vitamin D taken without vitamin K is also a little bit not so good. Yeah. So,
Yeah, but overdose in zinc is not great because many guys they think that, for example, zinc can generally boost testosterone. So it's really crucial. But we need like 15 to 30 milligrams per day maximum. So I will not go over this level. Yeah.
Well, with zinc as well, like if you're eating plenty of red meat, steak, and if you're eating a lot of seafood, which I think it sounds like you're probably big on seafood because you said you try and get a lot of taurine and taurine is rich in seafood. Realistically, if you had to look at designing the most optimal diet for boosting DHT and testosterone, what would you say are the core foods that guys must incorporate?
Generally, eggs, saturated fats, red meat. Some guys are really hard on beef and so on. I rather eat lamb and so on. Me too.
I prefer the taste. I personally prefer the taste. Like the lamb, there's a lamb backstrap. It's a type of cut. It's my favorite. It's my favorite. For me also, I was in Italy recently and they have a lot of lamb, okay? They have a lot of lamb from my country. But in my country, it's really hard to get lamb. But we export a lot of lamb to Italy. And I couldn't get enough of lamb in Italy. And you really feel...
Which part of Italy were you at? Different parts. Naples, Palermo, Sicily. So I traveled through all Italy. Yeah, I've been to all those places. I'm actually... My mother is Italian and my father is Lebanese. So I've been to...
you know, different parts of Italy and yeah, the food quality, like the, we stayed in a place called Positano. Positano, yeah. And the views, the views were just, yeah, seafood pasta looking out to the ocean was just amazing.
Also, recently I made some tests because I do really deep tests every year for my health and they find out that I have gluten sensitivity. Gluten itself can also block 5-alpha reductase enzyme because it increases inflammation in gut. So a lot of inflammation will like...
decrease the activity of alpha reductase enzyme and it will decrease DHT significantly. So I try to eat almost no gluten. But last time when I was in Italy, like you said, if you have this great view, all these kind of things you always forget. You know what the crazy bit is as well is like there's a like your mentality when you're on a holiday is you want to enjoy the moment.
Like, for example, you want to eat foods that you're potentially going to react to. But at the same time, you're like, all right, I know I'm going to feel possibly bad the following day. But you're on a holiday. It's just like you're wrestling between I want to feel good versus I want to enjoy the experience. It's like you just... I feel like that's a battle that a lot of people go through. Look, I am not Brian Johnson, you know? So I am more a hedonistic guy. So I enjoy also...
wine and all these kind of things because this is also one biohack that you want to live happy life. Oh, for longevity. Yeah, it's a happy life, you know. So I really don't want to live to probably to 100 years, okay. But I really want to enjoy my life, you know. Yeah, I'd be happy to live to 90 but live a like fulfilling and rich life, you know, versus 100.
and just be really restrictive and you know, not able to enjoy life, things like that. It's a big topic. What about in terms of I mean, related to coffee? Like what are you hearing? Is it? Do you think it's pro? Like it's pro hormones? It's you know, it's negative. Like what do you usually say to guys?
Coffee, I cannot say something negative against coffee because I'm a big coffee drinker. Okay, so but generally I try... How big though? Like three, four cups a day or more? More, more but right now I try to keep it around three to four cups but I try to drink coffee...
maximum till 10 a.m. or something like that, you know, because the later on it has really bad impact on sleep and all these kind of things. So but for me, the coffee is
When I was taking ashwagandha, for example, I had really big dopamine down regulation and coffee helped me a lot. Because coffee is a good dopamine D2 agonist. So at least from this perspective, coffee is good.
I'm not think that coffee is healthy for everyone because it can spike cortisol, you know, and it affects adenosine and all these kind of things, you know. So from that perspective is not healthy. But for example, it helping with blood sugar. OK, it's helping a little bit with dopamine.
Also, from my experience, also with DHT. Not so much, but it has some positive effect. But for many guys, it can be too... Some guys can get too anxious from coffee. So you really need to know what type of personality you are. For me, coffee is okay. Yeah, I agree. I think, well, I personally, just my opinion on that is...
There's a lot of individuality with that responsiveness. Personally, when I drink coffee, I feel great always. Almost always, I feel just more energy, that great dopamine alertness. But the thing is that I'm not drinking it consistently so that when I do have it, I'm hypersensitive. I'm having it maybe once or twice a week.
But I think habitual coffee drinkers, they've studied this, that in the Mediterranean diet, actually, it contributes to the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. It's habitual. So if you're drinking three cups a day, I think it's associated with reductions in liver cancer, diabetes.
improvements in like reduced risk of cognitive decline, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's. Is it the caffeine or is it the polyphenols or is it both? You know, this is the question. Yeah. The question, the, the,
This is a big question. Generally, I try to drink high-quality coffee. So at home, I have only high-quality coffee, so I don't buy coffee from supermarkets. So I always try to get coffee that is as fresh as possible. And I like to have a mild roast of coffee, and the quality of coffee is extremely important because normally in supermarket you get coffee
the worst quality of coffee and I think it's like olive oil. Okay, olive oil can have really many benefits, but the quality is what really matters. Okay, so because some olive oils are really like medicine. Okay, you take it one spoon per day and you are protecting your heart and everything. Okay, so it really depends on quality.
I agree. I agree. I just had a guest on last week who is selling wild olive oil and, you know, he's got sourced from Greece and it's, you know, really, really high quality, high in polyphenols, highly in oleocanthol and something else, another constituent. But yeah,
In terms of cooking oils and or like general fats, like what do you usually recommend to guys looking to optimize hormones? For me, it was easy choice. I am allergic to most of the plant oils. Okay.
So for me, I really like olive oil just for taste and for cold cuisine. For cold cuisine, I use olive oils like you said, the highest quality olive oils. I spend so much on olive oils that it's incredible. But generally for cooking, I prefer butter or ghee oil.
some beef, you know, fat, duck fat and all these kind of things. I grew up on pig fat because it was quite normal in Eastern Europe to use like pig fat, you know, and you cooked and fried everything in this. Okay, so I think it has no so many...
inflammatory markers like sunflower oil or rapeseed oil or soy or all that kind of things. But I really like butter and ghee. Yeah, me too. I think we share similar opinions on the best types of fats to incorporate. And typically what I'll say to guys is incorporate avocados because avocados are high in monounsaturated fats and then you've got
Certain types of nuts, so like macadamia nuts and Brazil nuts. I'm sure you're probably the same there. Yeah, I eat two Brazilian nuts every single day. I do it for years because it was said that it has high selenium. But you should take maximum like two, three nuts per day. So you should not go over.
What do you think are some of the common mistakes that you think guys make when it comes to boosting testosterone and or DHT? Yeah, the first big mistake is that they don't do any tests. The biggest mistake. I work also with many guys that are coming from TRT clinics and they don't do any tests. It's really...
For me, it's extremely weird because why these TRT clinics are not doing any tests? Because some guys, they are telling that I have low energy, but low energy doesn't mean that you are low in testosterone, okay? Correct, yeah.
Also, if you have low testosterone, you should try to find the root cause. Is it nutritional deficiency? Is it high prolactin? Okay, so you should not even start with any supplements before doing any test because the problem with TikToks, Instagram, and all these kind of things is that there is some trendy supplement and people try to...
take these supplements okay but like you said there are also not benefits but also risk and i really need to know why i am taking these supplements so the biggest issue is that i i'm not doing any test you know so uh even for guys that want to raise testosterone or hormones i really would do
deep test for inflammation, oxidative stress, even maybe Dutch test and that kind of things. I heard a lot right now about hair analysis. It's really trendy right now. So
Maybe also that's the way how to really find out all these nutritional deficiencies that are bottleneck for your higher testosterone. Yeah, something that I've been like sort of really excited to potentially see being developed is a... Have you heard of a CGM, a continuous glucose monotone? No, no, no. I know it, but I don't have really like...
Well, obviously it's for diabetics, but it's basically a device that you put on the back of your arm and it tracks your blood sugar over like a live analysis so you can check on your phone. I was thinking, could you imagine how good it would be if you could do this for testosterone? You just check on your phone, your testosterone level.
straight away in a split second, you get it on you. I don't think this technology is far away, to be honest. I think it's within a year, we'll see this on the market.
Yeah, but for me, technically, testosterone is a substrate. For me, it's only substrate for other hormones. So for me, DHT is more crucial and all these metabolites of DHT are more crucial for me than testosterone itself because testosterone is just substrate, you know, and we both know that, for example,
If you have oxidative stress, if you have done enough DHT or your SHBG is high, then you probably have more estradiol from your testosterone than you have DHT. And that's not good. OK, so because right now I was also reading one article.
one research paper about prostate cancer because many guys they think that the DHT is causing prostate cancer but the truth is that for example estradiol is causing it because
There is also some patent for treatment of prostate cancer with exogenous DHT. So DHT is not such an evil as many people think. So for me, it's really great hormone. I agree. I agree. In terms of strategies to boost DHT, what are you suggesting to guys on that front?
It depends if you want to go natural or if you want to use drugs and so on. But generally, Butea superba, you can increase fiber-reductase activity. There are many great things like...
also zinc itself, but in low dose can increase 5-alpha reductase enzyme. Okay, then if you want to go synthetic route, then you have proviron, you have even injectable DHT right now. Okay, so there are many things. The problem is that
you should try to keep the ratio between testosterone and DHT. Okay. So it should not go below five to one. Okay. Because if it's go below five to one, then you start to have these negative effects of DHT. Okay. Like, like the, the low estrogen symptoms because DHT can block. Oh,
Low estrogen and SHBG. Also SHBG. Yeah, it can lower. Estradiol is also crucial. So we also, for estradiol, there is a golden range, like 20 to 35, because you need estradiol also for your
joints, you know, you need estradiol for your brain, but too low or too high is not good. There is a golden range. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I agree. I've actually, I've ran experiments on my body and I'm sure you have as well, where you've tried to lower estrogen, like as far as you possibly can. And I've done that myself and it did not feel good at all. Like,
Everything was bad. Everything was bad. I didn't feel good in any way. The only way that I actually might have seen some benefit is I lost water retention on my body and that's about it.
For me, I have experimented a lot with prolactin because I personally think that prolactin is completely useless in guys because I try to get prolactin as low as possible and I only see benefits. So for me, getting prolactin low
as possible is really good thing. I read some research paper that it can cause apathy, but for me, I was far away from that. Okay. So I really had this dopamine boost and I'm not talking about sexual health because it can help a lot with many things in that space. Yeah. Well, did you,
in terms of that experiment, because I've actually personally, I've also tried cabergoline as a D2 agonist, which surprisingly, I mean, that drug just made me so fatigued when I first tried it. I don't know. Did that ever happen to you or you got headaches?
I personally didn't use cabergoline. My clients have used, especially, for example, I work with clients that have product in like 50. And for that case, you really need to use cabergoline. But for me, even using natural supplements work really great. Like high quality vitamin E in high doses for me is a miracle. And also,
high quality Tribulus can do that in many guys, in many guys. So you've seen the blood work before and after vitamin E and it's dropped. It's actually dropped their prolactin. Yeah, it dropped a lot, but you need to have really high quality source of vitamin E. It needs to be...
this wheat germ oil extract yeah yeah because otherwise if you if you are using synthetic vitamin e it will not do anything okay but if you are using this one extract and in high doses
then it works really great. Not for everyone, it depends where your prolactin starts. If your prolactin starts at like 11-15, you can do really well with that. If your prolactin is at 50, then like you said, you need to use things like cabergoline, but also cabergoline, you should not go over some dosage because
It can do a lot of negative things on your heart and so on. So you can always combine several supplements to lower prolactin. Yeah, I agree. In terms of the prolactin side of things, what would you say? I mean, I understand the main reasons why prolactin goes high in the first place. But did you want to explain to my audience why might prolactin be elevated in some guys? What are the causes?
Simple thing, stress. If your stress is high, your prolactin will be high. A lot of serotonin can increase prolactin. Guys, for example, if they are taking SSRIs, antipsychotics, they will raise...
prolactin significantly, there is one drug that is not specified as SSRI, I think is Buspirone or I think that's the name. It will increase prolactin or it will almost triple prolactin in guys. Okay, so there are many, even alcohol, if you drink too much alcohol, it will also increase prolactin and
Yeah, there are many other things, you know. So also estradiol goes hand in hand with prolactin. Yep. And in terms of, I mean, there's also a decent correlation between thyroid, cortisol, prolactin. Have you seen that sort of cortisol hand in hand with prolactin and or low thyroid, higher prolactin?
I didn't somehow experiment with this because thyroids can also have really great impact on hormones like even DHT. So T3 especially can boost 5-alpha reductase activity. So that's the one positive thing from T3. So thyroid hormone. But I don't have any correlation between
tyroids and prolactin. Okay, but generally, generally, you know, so tyroids are extremely crucial for hormones, even for testosterone. Miro, in terms of like the future direction, I mean, looking at post SSRI sexual dysfunction, PSSD, I know you've had a number of guys who probably reached out
What have you seen be somewhat successful in terms of like reversing some of the common issues that they're complaining about? Like, I know you said these different supplements like boosting DHT with tribulus, you know, vitamin E. But,
I'm sure you've had cases where it's like no matter what a guy tries, like just nothing seems to really be helping. So yeah, what are you doing in those cases? Yeah, there is one theory, okay? So that...
All the problems are caused by low androgens. Okay. So I agree that low androgens can lead to depression, anxiety, and all this kind of thing. So if I would be a psychiatrist, I would first do blood tests for hormones. Okay. I would rather...
TRT or HCG or something like that in order to boost hormone and not to start with SSRIs. But if you already try this kind of medication and you are
you have these symptoms. So the first thing I would focus on is serotonin receptors, like resensitization of serotonin receptors because the 1,5-HD1A is extremely crucial and it also has a negative effect on oxytocin and all these kind of things. So that would be the first thing.
I would focus on. I had some guys that I was coached, has really great success with Ginkgo biloba. One specific extract was AGB 761. It's used a lot in Europe. In Europe, you can go to pharmacy and you can buy it without any issue.
But also you can buy similar products on iHerb. And a really good combination was Ginkgo and Hesperidin, for example. Because Hesperidin is also lowering cholesterol.
Serotonin, ginkgo is affecting all neurotransmitters because many guys think about ginkgo like only for microcirculation. But ginkgo is really lowering acute stress, for example, and cortisol levels.
can do regulation of cortisol but also is affecting neurotransmitters okay so I had great success with Ginkgo and yeah there are also right now I don't cannot remember the name maybe you know this drug
Yeah, yeah, yeah. For example, yeah. But you need to do it in cycles, okay? So not long cycles, but really like short cycles. And during that cycle, you also need to use other supplements that can decrease serotonin levels. And if you do it, maybe one, two, three cycles, the same with ginkgo, then you can really like resynthetize your
these serotonin receptors. And the second thing, of course, is androgen levels. You need to increase androgen levels. And the first thing in PSSD is prolactin because most of these guys have really high prolactin or they had high prolactin for a pretty long period of time. And high prolactin will downregulate your dopamine and
and will also down-regulate your 5-alpha-reactase enzyme. Yeah, there's some good recommendations there. I mean, I've heard of a few of those. I mean, the ginkgo, yeah, clearly that has a prolactin-lowering effect. It's highly dopaminergic as well. I like ginkgo a lot.
Hesperidin I wasn't aware of though. I mean, I know about it, but I know about it in terms of blood flow and it's found in oranges and things like that. But I wasn't aware that it had some... Are you saying the combination between Hesperidin and Ginkgo together is having a unique effect?
Yeah, to get a synergistic effect on receptors. For example, my favorite supplement that I take almost every day is dried lemon peel. Because it's prebiotic. It's also helping with like...
It's blocking INOs because INOs is not healthy. Okay, so many benefits and I just put it in water and I drink it with lemon, you know, so even simple supplements or things you eat every single day can have really great impact on your health like goji berries. Okay, goji berries are also one source of taurine, for example. Yeah.
Awesome. Awesome. Yeah. Is there any sort of final words you want to share to my audience in terms of areas that you're excited to see more research on or I guess like the future direction of this space?
My only recommendation, be careful with supplements. Okay. So don't just blindly take any supplements. Watch Luca's videos because he's also given critics on supplements and all these kind of things. I do the same because like you are doing your videos, always when you say A, you need to say B. So
So not just only, you know, benefits, but also the risk. So don't blindly take any supplements. Try to work with some great coach, you know, so probably that's it, you know, so be happy, be happy. That's also one biohack, you know, be happy. So be, you know, so humble and, yeah.
That's also one of the things you really need to learn. I agree. I agree. Thank you so much for jumping on the podcast, Miro. It's been a pleasure chatting. And I do want to say keep doing what you're doing. Keep on sharing the content. And, yeah, sharing some of the experiments and protocols for people because, yeah,
Man, the reality here is that there are a lot of guys out there suffering and a lot of them are not knowing what to do and where to go. So between you and I, we're both on a mission to spread positivity and to showcase experiments, protocols, things like that to help people. So thank you so much for coming on the podcast. Where can my audience connect with you?
on YouTube. Maybe you can link the channel. I'll leave that linked in the podcast show notes.
