Mark Epstein
Topics

It's interesting to learn who jeffrey esty hub around with while he was alive, people who flew w on his airplane, people who stayed on this private island in the curium, those who had dinner at his home of faith avenue in new york. And as some extent of those names are coming out, not all of them, but we know a lot of the people who are in Jeffery m stings. Life, and we have for several years now.

But at another level, that whole story seems like a bit of a sideshow because doesn't answer the main mysteries surrounding Jeffery estein's life or death. And there are three of them, almost none of which is ever discussed in the media. The first is, who did Jeffery have seen work for? What did Jeffery obsta do for a living? And on whose behalf?

We don't know the second questions, where all the money come from, hundreds, millions of dollars that passed through his hands over many years. And where is IT now? We don't know that either.

And the third question may be the most pressing of all, which is what happened to Jeffery esty. On August ten, two thousand and nineteen, he was found dead in the federal correction facility in manhattan and were the most secure places in the world. Did he kill himself, as the government has claimed ever since? Or was he murdered? Will the overwhelmed evidence suggested he was in fact murdered and that the U.

S. Government, including the attn generality that the states covered up that murder, these are the questions that matter most, and their exactly the ones not being addressed in the news media. Why is that? We decided to speak as someone who has insight into this question, and that is Jeffery, abstinence only surviving relative.

This is mark abc, with Jeffery abstinences brother, separated by eighteen months, is a successful real estate developer in new york, and he is very concerned for his own safety. So the interview that follows is one that you will listen to rather than see marketing refused to appear on camera. But we think what he has to say is worth hearing here.

IT is, do you think .

your brother .

till himself? Not now? no. When I first heard he was dead from suicide, I had no reason to doubt IT so I accepted that but then have to the autopsy and they have to go bomb that an action statement I said this was not a suicide um .

but when you first hurt the news, you were not you thought I was a possibility that he killed .

themselves yeah I accept that that is a fact. I heard IT on the news. The government didn't notify me as they said. I heard IT on CNN in the morning of the time .

and you're his only survivor. You the only surviving well.

yes, he has no children and our parents are on and is not with the siblings.

When did you start to think that he did not kill himself?

Lifted the autopsied, the both pathologists, the city pathologists in doctor button, came out of the tops and they said, this doesn't look like a suicide .

IT looks like a homicide.

So what did you do that? why? Okay, I figured you have to look into this and see what's .

going on where you shocked that .

he might have been killed. Uh, this comes a surprise. no.

So as his only surviving relative, what you do to find out what happened to what started .

to acquire about what took place in justice department, I was supposedly investigating the initial death certificate. Uh, said pending, uh, when I said cause of death, which means pending further investigation, yes, so but then a few days later, I was declared a suicide by the chief pathologist who who was not at the autopsy and a the questions became what investigation was done in such a short period time to make home determined that was a suicide or was he he basing IT on the by a state and .

who who was the chief pytho gist to .

me that I doctor roman.

that was the pathogens who is there?

No, no, no was Samson. But Samson was a cheap thole did the actual autopsies dopper .

about us so barber Samson is the person who declared red officially a suicide and SHE was not. As you said at the autos, I mean, he was not present for good.

And you know, when they call the suicide, they stop investigating. Because if there's a suicide, there's really nothing to investigate, right? If it's a suicide because somebody killed themselves, case close.

So I said they can just sort of cover up. They ever, they never didn't investigation. They didn't never interview the EMS that will call to the jail, and they never interviews the hospital personnel with body with wished they did. I can get any answer to what investigation is done when I met with this justice department people a few months after the death, every question I ask was answered by saying after a certain investigation we determined that was a suicide that was IT was like them pleading the fifth I got the same answer every question .

I ask so um did you speak to barber Samson the officials who ruled .

this is no I haven't been able .

to get to her no SHE never called you .

no so in .

um in her public explanation SHE has been asked about this we tried to reach out to SHE refused to speak to us um for reasons we don't understand but in her official explanation SHE suggested that SHE ruled IT a suicide effectively overruling the judgment of the people actually from the autopsy because your brother had attempted suicide previously .

yes but that's been shown to be false you can listen to David shown is eternity on the podcast the crime wave spot case, he explains that jeff was attacked by his cell mate, but he didn't want reported as such because he was afraid of retaliation.

But every news account of his initial injuries in the in the weeks before his death said that he had tried to kill him self in in a cell. He was found in fetal position on the floor after a failed suicide attempts.

Somebody says that then everyone picks up the same story, and then IT becomes, know the truth was because has been repeated so many times, but the fact is he was not, he's not not attend suicide that first time.

So if he didn't try to kill him self the first time, then the medical examiner had no basis to declare. This is exactly.

exactly. Plus this reasons why he wouldn't ill himself and he had a hearing scheduled for uh, to appeal the bail decision coming up in a few days and uh the bail was being uh, increased. So there's a chance you could have got bail even as unpalatable as that might have to some people know in united states were entitled to bail on the same certain conditions.

But so I could see if he went for the hearing for bail and that was denied, then I can see him taking himself out, if you want. Spend a year in jail waiting for a trial. Yeah, but not a few days before that makes some sense in all .

the in your conversations with him and in your conversations with the people who were in contact with him the final weeks of his life. Was there any indication on all that he was suicide at any point?

No, I had no conversations with once he was arrested, told the day before he was arrested, he actually called me from paris, just unusual, you know how you do in kind of phone call? And the next day is eerily called me, told me he was arrested. Now was the last time I spoke with him. I don't speak to him to see him while he was in jail.

But having spoken to his lawyers in people whom communicated with from jail.

did anybody say that he was? No, everybody was shot, that everybody body.

So what's interesting is that the attarian general who died states at the time train gentle bar h said publicly, and then ruin his memorie. That he had included conclusively that this was a suicide based on two pieces of evidence, won the medical examiner, that the person you will perform, the autopsy declared, as I wish, just a why that didn't happen, and too because he had viewed the video tape at the entrance to the tear, the cell block where your brother was being held. What do you make of that explanation?

But when I heard boss statement that he said he personally saw the video tape and he concluded IT was a suicide because nobody went around. That's what help me that he's covering this up, because this is two sort of falling in that one.

I thought, why is the atti general of the united states too? I imagine, to be a busy guy, why is he personally watching the video or take? Could he have two people and office watched the video table and say, hey, bill, nobody went in around, know when that surface.

And to to assume that somebody could get to that door, go inside, you know, kill somebody, get out completely undetected is just ridiculous, because I believe there are six levels of security before you get to that do IT. So to assume that somebody could do with that way is crazy. And any their grade investigate, we will tell you that there was anyway, from seven to fourteen people on the other side of that two on the year that could have killed somebody.

And and I had been told from another source, i've been getting a lot of information from all sources that cell doors were left on lock that night. I don't know how many cell doors or whose cell doors, but if if cell s will left them lock, then somebody could have went into jeff cell, kill them when pack into the ecl l undetected. That in the justice point, a report IT says that from three cells you can see jeff cell door.

But if you look at the photographs of the tear, these tiny windows in the cell doors, so in order to see jeff cell doit from another cell, you'd have to be standing at that window inside the other cells in the middle of the night, looking towards jeff cell. And if somebody crapped low beneath the height of the window, you want to see them. So the fact that they say that he could be seen from three other cells and they didn't see anything, uh, chances are the other prisoners were sleeping in those cells if they had nothing to do with IT. So we get IT. It's just like a cover up line, right?

So that there was the church general said that nobody moved on to the cell block according to the video tape. But that is irrelevant because if your brother was modeled, he was almost or by some of majority on the site book exactly right. So um given that and it's i'll be a logical and you think about for about ten seconds, the identities of the other inmates on that solve lock are critical brother was alone in hit cell um so any one of those inmates could have killed your brother. Do we know who they were?

No again, find out who they were. It's uh, there there was anyway, there were seven other cells each with one or two. People in them ah which means is either anyway from seven to fourteen people other than my brother on the tear, right I don't know who they are or I don't want that guy to tag the only who was jeff so made for a while.

Uh, he was. He was there for a long time. So h if jeff was killed, the possibility that somebody was planted in there, sell doors, were left on lock and end to what I understand, a number of prisons would transfer over that tear after the death.

So if somebody was planted, he killed jeff in the day to ladies transferred red out, he disappears into the ether. I don't know who the prisons were. I'd like to find out what they and we are.

are they know. So there is, of course, a record of this, these federal inmates in a facility run by the department of justice of view of prisons over the problem justice. So it's not like nobody knows who they were.

They have to have a racket.

right? But they will not release that to you.

I haven't been able good anything.

right? Let's get down on the chain of documents that might explain this mystery. So the first one, the records of the first responders, the e who arrived at the scene and moved your brother's body from the cell, too.

No, that's what I do. But when I spoke an empty, when they got to the prison, jeff was already in infirmary. They, the prison people moved him to the infirmary, which they were not supposed to do because when he was found, he was clearly that the what does he showed? He was dead for at least two hours before he was found.

So at that point they supposed to leave the body and call the medical examiners always so they can come take photographs, do the initial testing, whatever they do when they find a dead body. But that wasn't done. They moved him to the infirmary and, uh.

they moved to corpse to the infirmary, but notified nobody else.

Well, uh, nine one one call was made to get the E M, T. And we can get a copy in the nine one one call, which is we hear nine one one for all sorts of all the cases. This one seems to be missing.

When they got there. He was in infirm and he was clearly dead because later said he'd been there for two hours. And there was a photograph of him being whaled out of the prison where he was interpreted in the squeeze and abb to track IT.

So I was question, why are they trying to put your pumping into a into a clearly dead body when they trying to make a look like he was alive so that he could be declared red dead in a hospital because, but have been told lonely when they find dead bodies in the prisons, they want to ship up to the hospital so they declared dead in the hospital with unwritten rule is nobody dies in prison they don't want to deal of IT so he ship into a hospital where's the clared dead? And when I equation the em t why they were indebted him, I said, because he was dead for leave. To always response like that was, how do you know that IT was a kind of a strange response, but I knew from the autopsy.

so we don't know who moved him out of the car. No person has come forward to say I moved this corpse from the cell.

No flag also told that in the infirmary and in the hospital, there was somebody with a handheld video camera all the time, running video taping everything. We are those types. That's another question.

Despite the fact your brother was dead in in sale and had been dead for two hours, at least at least two. Somebody cut off his clothing and redress ss, the corpse in hospital scripts in the down.

Yeah, I have a hot day for him in hospital gown on a journey and a hospital where, you know, his arms should put through the sleeves. It's one of those galleries. Y in the back. So the question comes you who decided to dress a dead body in a hospital game? Normally they either in a body bag o covered by a sheet.

That's bizarre. yes. And four and half years later, you have no answers at all on any these questions. no.

And i've tried to get the the P C R report, the A C R report, which is the report that the E M. T. Fill out on every cool they make is just the record keeping system. And these are file with fire department. And, uh, there's this video essentially show they have no recognition.

So there are essentially no records of what happened at all. There's no video of tape. The cameras were broken.

The guards are supposed to be keeping watch for asleep. They were convicted of flying, but then they were pardoned by a judge later. Apparently wants to work to the final government, I believe so. I tried to .

talk to the gods that I couldn't get to them. I tried to contact them through the return nees and I couldn't get to them.

Um okay. So then there was famously in investigation into this, overseen by the public .

justice head .

investigator. Where's that? Well.

they came out words the report, you know, few months ago and uh for four years we ve been trying to find out what position his body was in when IT was found. And we couldn't have get an answer to that either. But in the report, IT described how he was found.

He said that he was in a civic position with his legs extended in front of him, and he was hanging from the top bunk. So if you, if you picture that, you know, basically all of his body weight, or most of his body weight, was hanging by the snooze around his neck or the legatine around his neck. He adds some weight on his feet, but the bulk of his hundred eighty somewhat pounds was hanging, uh, and they said when they cut them down, torn down his budgets with an engine half above the ground again, which means his body weight was on his neck. Now, if somebody hanging like that, the news so that would would ride up high on the neck and go high behind two years to where I was title. But uh, the autos seeing photograph show that the legal remark on gyp sneck is in the middle, his neck, and go straight back as if someone put a rober around and I can strangle them like cola and the godfather in the court .

or the elections cord .

to the elections cord or whatever was there but IT does a look like the fabric .

from a bit sheet so if um IT seems clear just from the photographs of this topic, he was strangled with the cord, won't you test that cord for his DNA? Yeah.

nobody knows. Seems in the where that is also the way they said he was hanging. And again, he had to be there for at least two hours.

When you die, the blood in your body settles to the gravity, takes the blood down to the lowest parts of your body, and they become blood chief from the, uh, blood pulling on the skin. So the back of his legs and his buddy s should have what's called lividity. They should have this blog units like doing, look on the back with legs and this baLance autos y forty people showed a clean clear. So he couldn't been hanging that way for more than you for two plus hours. He'd have blood pulling in his legs, but that's not the case.

So didn't the report explain the discrepancy of the autopsy that bones in his neck were broken that are not seen in hanging ings, but are see his string ellish?

There were those problem bones that they seem strangulation, but because he had three bones is also from a kari chop to the nick will break bones like that. And that seems to be what I ve spoken to. Military people preferred way of killing people is you crude, chop them in the net really hot.

You collapse that wind pipe, and that's disorder and and capacity. And usually they break the neck, or you can strangle, so the book to breaks in his neck, more consistent with a crude job. Then a soft, let's go to soft hanging.

You know, when you tie something round your neck and you sit down to hanging yourself, something so of like you unfortunate Robin Williams and or dying was that tell thee and there was a sort tank, and I supposed to Brooks, in the short, short redemption, was stood on the chair. And so junker, of that's a hard hang, and that will snap the bones in your neck. But that wasn't what happened with chef.

So doctor a button, who participator was present at the autopsy, um has participated in over a thousand autopsies of prison deaths. I have never seen three fractures like this in a suicidal hanging going over over a thousand jail hanging suicides in the new york city state presence over the past forty, fifty years. No one had to reflect his fairly firm conclusions. Is that this was not a suicide as I correct?

Yes, he was holding off on that determination. Pending determination of power, the body was found, which we finally, the now that they say the way the body was found IT just only shows that IT was not that way, the autopsy ws is not that way which further convinced that the bottom that this was not A A hanging, not a suicide so um here's .

what we wind up with at the end of all this. We wind up with a high profile inmate in the most secure federal facility in the country's largest city who was somehow word .

clearly with .

the knowledge of the justice department and the atterley generalities that states why is about IT.

which he did. And there's .

no reason to do that except to cover up the crank. So what does that tell us about this?

Or it's a scary thought that you could be killed in prison by the government because it's again, that if my life won't been a lot easier if he committed suicide, I could put IT behind me. But it's obviously, it's obvious ous at this point time that he IT was not a suicide and so means somebody killed them. So who who killed them and why?

right? So in talking to all the people around him or people who were connected with a one way or another in the final weeks of his life, have you detected a fear in those people in talking about this?

Not not really. I don't think they're fearful of anything. I was the one getting the deserts. I don't think they .

input why were in that.

But when jeff died, people tried to link me to his activity is in some way shape or from again, I I had not seen jeff to seven years try IT is that we were in communication, we spoke, we detail, but we live two different lives. So I didn't know he's in a circle, and he did no mind a but people try to link us, try to link me to his activities. And I was getting, I wasn't contact with the product with the F, B, I. And the of police department. About the death rats and I had at times had on gods, or when I went to the author, psy, I had on gods with me to protect .

myself from the farm.

whoever killed jeff.

But anyone who could murder someone in a federal detention facility obviously has a lot of power.

And well, I was trying to protect myself as best as I. No do you fear .

for annoys you not appear on camera, you best on took her camera.

Yeah, I just not want to be recognized. I travel a lot and then is no need for me. This is not about me. This is about jeff death.

Did you have any angling in all that your brother was involved in anything that might get in killed by a government?

No, no. Because that I wasn't involved with this day a day life, you know and you know his troubles he had with the charges with the girls was from the early two you know two thousand six when he first into trouble in, uh, spend time in jail for that well .

that's that's a question that occurred to me. I mean, he went through all this whatever you think of IT um and then he was charging again for the same for the same things effectively right .

I mean for money stand that was going he had a non prosecution agreed agreed right at the federal government on that when he made his pleasure uh so he believed he was safe from further prosecution and then he flew home from paris and july and arrested them on the same judges and his decide believe his defense was going to be well hey, you know I ever non prosecution agreement with the federal government and suppose they say I was like the southern district summer area. Well, as far as I know, we have one federal government. If you make a deal with the federal government that covers the entire country.

has IT occurred that maybe the point of rearresting him on the same charges was to get him into a facility where .

you could be killed? No, I shy away from speculating about all of this. I try to stick with the facts, but that's a possibility.

Um do you think other governments might have been involved in this, not just a theos government?

Um I I was on the surface now I don't see why I mean, I don't know what he was doing day to day. So you know again, speculation which I don't want to do but I don't think so know in the surface .

I don't see why um what information are you still seeking about this stuff?

Wow, who is the prison? Is on that word that night. How long will the effort? Now somebody was on their words for, you know, a long time, like his roommate. You know, obviously they were unplanned in there no two years ago to kill jeff then.

So who was transfer onto the words in the week two before he was killed? And and where are they now? Where were they transfer to with his real pressures, always at a plant?

Have you asked the inspector general at the department?

Justice, we use all these questions, yes, way back when, and we get no way. After a throw investigation, we've determined .

IT was a suicide, but no one's giving your wedding details.

After a careful investigation, we've determined that was a suicide. That's what I been was getting from them. I'm doing to you.

but they were doing to me.

What's your next move? Well, i'm still trying to find the information I have in your voice out to try to get the medical reports, to try to get the nine one call and just to get people thinking about this, people shouldn't, like you said, people shouldn't uh, be completion with the fact that somebody was killed in a federal prison under federal protection .

yeah and officials at the very high est levels are lying about .

IT yeah and people should be aware that whether we ever figure out exactly what happened, I don't know. But uh, I don't want people to think he committed suicide because that's not the case.

Work of say thank you very much.

You look.
