Hello, hello, beautiful souls, and welcome to the Claim Your Power podcast, the ultimate show for all things New Age spirituality, entrepreneurship, and embodied leadership. I'm your host, Kim Peretz. I'm an author, entrepreneur, and yoga enthusiast. If you're ready to step up, tap into your gifts, and unleash your potential, you are at the right place. It's time to claim your power. Hello.
Hello, my beautiful friends, and welcome back to the podcast. I don't know what date it is for you that you're listening to this, but currently for me, it's Saturday morning, and I'm
And I woke up feeling like the baddest bee. I meditated, I ate a good breakfast, I did some EFT tapping, I cleaned up my space. I am ready to get into this podcast episode. I'm feeling motivated. I have a lot of, I have like a spur of energy right now.
And I think it really is aligned, like my energy right now is super aligned with what I'm talking about today, which is how to stop playing small. And I'm going to be teaching you guys about a mentality and mindset that I call the OK and mindset that basically changed my entire life and the way that I view success today.
failures and rejection so the way that i decided to film this episode it was actually inspired by an eft tapping session that i did on youtube with melanie moore and if you don't know her she's on youtube she's an amazing eft practitioner i love to do the tapping videos with her so if you're someone who wants to get into eft tapping she does like really short quick videos i really really like her work
And this podcast episode was inspired by her EFT tapping sequence for the fear of visibility, which is basically the fear of being seen, the fear of showing up authentically, the fear of what others might say. And so today I'm going to be taking...
that kind of component and discipline of the fear of being seen. And I'm going to be teaching you a mindset that has changed it for me because I used to have a big fear of being seen and a big fear of visibility. Like I was really, really scared to show up online. For instance, I remember when I started the podcast, I didn't tell anyone that I had a podcast for like a year. Like I think only my mom and dad knew. I didn't tell any of my friends. I didn't put it on any of my social media because I was so scared of
of people hearing me talk or hearing what I have to say. And just, I had this deep fear of visibility and this deep fear of being seen. And then that ended up manifesting in my TikTok too. I always wanted to start at TikTok and I was holding myself back for so long. Like I was the one holding myself back for a year. And it wasn't until I started working on my fear of being seen that
through EFT and through meditation and journaling and shadow work that I realized like, wow, I have so much to offer to the world. And by the way, so do you, anyone listening. And I'm not gonna hold myself back anymore. I'm not gonna stand in my own way anymore. And then I started posting and it changed my entire life and brought me to where I am today. But basically what I'm trying to say is that if you have a dream and it doesn't even have to be like social media, it could be anything. It could be public speaking or...
or starting your own venture, anything like that that requires you to be visible. Maybe it's writing an article, writing a book, any of that that requires you to step out of your fear of being seen and authentically show up in the world. If you have a fear of that, this episode is for you because we're going to be unraveling how you're going to stop playing small and how you're going to step into your power. This is the one thing you need to realize is
is the fact that you were born with a set of gifts and a set of passions and a set of talents for a reason and you not stepping into your power and purpose and using them is a waste of energy and it's a disservice to yourself.
Every single time that you play small or you hold yourself back when you know you should be doing something that is empowering to you, when you know you should be sharing your gifts with the world, when you know you should be in service of others and being authentic, when you hold yourself back and you play small,
you are being of disservice to yourself. You are disrespecting your purpose. And I'm saying that, I know it sounds intense the way that I'm saying that, but that is like the aha moment that I had. I had this moment that I was like, wow, I was born with such a passion for content creation and public speaking and creating videos and sharing my wisdom online. And I
Held myself back for so long I knew inherently like ever since I was a kid that I wanted to do stuff like this I would create I'd self taught myself how to edit videos on Final Cut Pro and iMovie and like the sixth grade I would create YouTube videos in my room as a young girl and it's crazy to me how much I held myself back because I would play small for so long like I always knew that that was something I wanted to do and I just didn't take the leap because I felt like I
I just wouldn't succeed and I have this fear of being seen and judged. And let me tell you that you're never going to actually get over that fear unless you make the leap. Like people look for the perfect time to do something, the perfect time to follow their dream, to chase after that new idea, to bring that thing that you really want to life. They look for the perfect time. They're like, once this happens, I will feel ready. Once this changes, I will do it. But the truth is...
You will never have the perfect time. The perfect time is now, the present moment. You're never gonna wake up and be like, "Haha, this is it. This is the perfect time to go chase after my dream. This is the perfect time to start writing my new book. This is the perfect time to start publishing videos on TikTok."
It is never going to be the perfect time. And once you get out of that mentality, you stop playing small and you realize that you only have the now. And I also want to tell you that your passions and your gifts, you were born with that for a reason. Like, you know what you were born for in your heart, in your veins, in your blood, in your intuition. You know that you were born for greatness, whatever that may be for you. However, that manifestor comes to life in your reality. You know what you were made for.
you know it deep in your heart and you cannot tell me that you don't because that dream that you have that vision it exists for a reason it exists because your soul knows that you are meant for greatness and i've noticed with a lot of other people is that we put all the excuses and all the responsibility on other people and that's what hold us back and
And that is exactly what I mean when I say like this fear of being seen in the sphere of visibility, we're putting our accountability, our responsibility and the way we feel on other people. So we say, oh, if somebody judges us, that's why we won't post that video. Or if somebody is gonna think weirdly of us, so I'm not gonna share my authentic truth through a podcast.
We tell these things to ourselves and we're giving our power away time after time after time. But the truth is, it is all you. This is a battle against you and you. It has nothing to do with anybody else. No specific person is actually the one holding you back. You are the one holding you back because you are the one giving them power. The mountain is you. And the more that you give those people your power and you play small, you are diminishing your own light and your own purpose.
because you were meant to be amazing and extravagant and magnetic and radiant and you were meant to spread your light with the world. That is why you were born and that is why you were on this earth and that is why you are here. You are here to share your goals and your dreams and your love and your light. That is what you are born for. Let me play out a narrative for you, okay?
It is your last day on earth. You just ascended to the higher realms. You are sitting with the universe, with God, with the spirit guides, with your angels, whatever you believe in. You are sitting and you are looking back at a tape of your life. And in one album, you have the life that you lived,
and all the experiences that you had. And then another album, your guides, the universe, God is showing you all the things and all the experiences you could have had if you stopped playing small, if you listened to your intuition, and if you followed your gut and your purpose.
and you are looking through the album and you see all these accomplishments and all these experiences and all these amazing things that you could have accomplished if you just didn't play small, if you got over that fear of being seen. And I don't know about you, but I don't want to sit and look through the album and see all the possible things I could have experienced or accomplished or brought to this world
And all these things that I didn't accomplish because I was too scared of what others might think of me or how others might view me or the way that I will be perceived by the world. Because guess what? Everything is an outer mirror of you. If you are scared of what others might think of you or how others will judge you, that is a trigger and a reflection of you, a part of you that is judging yourself, a part of you that isn't accepting of yourself.
It all starts by doing the inner work. It's asking yourself, okay, what parts of me do I still not accept?
Because the moment that you accept every single part of you, the authenticity, the true expression of you is the moment you will genuinely stop giving a shit of how others perceive you. And this is where I want to get into the mentality that changed the game for me. And it's called the okay and mindset. And basically this mindset changed the game for me.
This is the mindset that allows you to establish neutrality all around your failures, your rejections, and your opportunities for growth. And let me show you guys how this plays out. So you got rejected by a job offer. Okay, and you got ghosted.
Okay, and that person doesn't like the shirt you're wearing. Okay, and that person commented a mean thing on your video. Okay, and okay, and you in this moment in this day and time, I want you to start adopting this mindset and to stop giving every single little circumstance in your life power. You are the one that is giving it the connotation the experience. So if you saw every single rejection and failure as a okay, and and
Instead of, oh my God, my self-worth sucks, I'm trash, I will never succeed, da-da-da, and all these limiting beliefs. If you just stop telling yourself that story and chose a new path, you will become unbreakable, unbreakable. Let me give you guys an example of how this plays into my life. So the other day, somebody, so I had a video on TikTok that ended up very much going viral. I think it has 1.8 million views today.
And I was actually, oh my God, wow. As I'm recording this, the recording number is 1111. Is that not crazy? Wow, the synchronicities are just insane right now as I'm talking. I actually have goosebumps. But basically, from that video, I...
I was gaining a lot of followers, a lot of traffic into my account. And I was talking in the video about how the universe never says no, and it only says yes, not yet, or I have something better. And on TikTok, most of the comments were very, very positive. It was people saying that the video really positively impacted them and the message really resonated and da da da. It was amazing. And I got to really see all those comments and it truly filled my heart.
And then on Instagram, this spiritual account with thousands of followers reposted that video. And I think now it's still streaming and getting engagement. But I think as of today, it has like over 100,000 views on Instagram reels.
And I just recently saw that I was tagged in it and I was looking through the comments of that video. And let me tell you that the audience on Instagram for like spirituality and mindset is completely different from the ones on TikTok. And so a lot of the comments were actually not very positive or nice. They were like, this is bullshit. It's crazy to believe. It's crazy to see what some people believe.
and tell themselves these crazy stories, da da da, and then they were also like, you know, the people who are like, Jesus exists, like take back your love to Jesus, stop believing in this demonization, whatever.
List goes on. So I was looking through those comments and I was thinking to myself like, wow, six months ago, me or a year ago, me would have gone so hurt by those comments. And I read each and every one of those comments and I was like, okay. And okay. And like, I've actually never been so unfazed or unbothered by those comments because I actually know that
It is my truth and sharing that video I shared it with the intention that it is helping the people who need to hear it and need to hear that message and anybody else who's not meant to hear it is not gonna receive that message in the same way and in the same energy and I understand that and so I was reading those comments and I was like wow I'm kind of getting like some hate and some rejection but I've come to a place in my life that I'm so whole with who I am and my truth and
and who I want to become that I'm not gonna let like two hate comments or eight hate comments or even 50 hate comments or 100 hate comments put me down. I am not gonna let it diminish my light.
Every single time that life tries to harden you, allow it to soften. Allow yourself to soften. Every single time that something gets hard, allow yourself to lean into your softness, into your feminine side, into your energy. Allow yourself to get stronger from these rejections, from these failures. And that is why the okay and mindset is magic. Because it's like I could have taken those comments and token them so personally and just told myself, wow, my content sucks.
I could have also started having self-doubt. Like, oh, maybe what I believe in is fake or maybe what I believe in isn't the truth or da-da-da. And maybe the universe doesn't exist and all these things that are just doubting and they're just...
these ego driven beliefs but I didn't because I know that I was meant to share that video and I saw that I was meant to share that video because that video going viral just showed me like this is the right message this is what people are meant to hear so obviously you're never going to reach a point in your life where you're not going to get any hate or any judgment or some people aren't going to like you
like you are not meant to be liked by everyone. And if that is what you seek, then maybe you should listen to my episode on how to stop being a people pleaser because you will never be accepted by everyone. And it honestly has nothing to do with you. People who don't accept themselves and who are battling their own demons and their own darkness are going to reflect that energy onto you. And somebody who is secure, who loves himself, who is confident doesn't see a need to bring others down. And so if you stopped accepting,
giving people like that so much power and you took your power back and started following your biggest instincts and your biggest dreams and you stopped diminishing your light and playing small, your entire life will change. Through my own experiences in life, I have noticed that the universe rewards courage.
If you are able to take that one step forward, take that one leap, get out of your comfort zone, do that thing that you know is right, but you're scared to do it. If you take that leap, the universe has your back. But you have to be able to do that. You have to be able to take that one step forward to stop playing small and to do that thing that scares you. You have to step into your power. Nobody is going to do that for you.
The aligned action is necessary. You can't just be sitting and dreaming and writing everything down in your journal but then not doing anything. Like you are in a physical reality. You are meant to move and conquer and act. That is part of life. And so you need to stop playing small because you are the one holding yourself back. Nobody else. Nobody is holding you back in any way.
that tells you that it's holding you back, any person outside of you is just an illusion. They are a reflection of you. The second that you come face to face in the mirror with yourself and what is holding you back and you overcome that mountain is the second your life will change and your life will genuinely start to shift.
For instance, like when I started posting on TikTok, I was getting zero views. I had like five followers, but I knew that I was meant to do it. And I kept going and I kept getting over that fear and I took a step and I took a leap and I became courageous. And over time, like I started to see tangible results and opportunities and new doors opening up for me. And the universe was just blessing me in every single aspect and giving
you know, corner of my life, but it didn't happen until I took the leap and I stopped playing small. And so my advice to you is to take baby steps, to take that one step forward and then go from there. And that is why I think that the okay and mindset is magic and so powerful because it allows you to establish neutrality and claim your power back from any failure or rejection or judgment that you experience. So the next time that you are experiencing something
I don't know. Any like thing, even in your head, like in your mind, if you start hearing these thoughts from your ego that are like, you're not good enough, they're going to judge you, da, da, da. Instead of trying to replace it with such like a positive affirmation, because it's not always easy to just be jolly and preppy and happy all the time. Just respond to your ego in your head and just be like, okay, and...
What's the worst thing that could happen if I post that video? What's the worst thing that could happen if I started that business? What's the worst thing that could happen that I applied for that job? I failed, okay? But I already have the no. So I might as well shoot for the yes. So I wanna end this episode with a little inspirational wisdom, this little quote that I really, really like. So here we go. I'm gonna read it to you.
You are being presented with a choice. Evolve or remain. If you choose to remain unchanged, you will be presented with the same challenges, the same routine, the same storms, the same situations until you learn from them, until you love yourself enough to say no more, until you choose change.
If you choose to evolve, you will connect with the strength within you. You will explore what lies outside your comfort zone. You will awaken to love. You will become. You will be. You have everything you need. Choose to evolve. Beautiful souls, thank you so much for joining me in today's episode. As always, feel free to DM me on Instagram if you have any topic suggestions for future episodes or if you would like to apply to be a guest on the show. I
I hope you feel inspired to claim your power today. Bye.
