Hello, my beautiful friends, and welcome to the first episode of 2023 of the podcast. I cannot believe that it's already 2023. It's crazy how time passes by. And I have a little confession to make to start off this episode. I don't know if this is just me or anyone listening will relate to this.
But I know that the new year usually tends to be all about like setting new goals and setting new habits and visualizing your best self and taking action and da-da-da. And I have always been someone during new year that I've always been like motivated to like set the intentions and set the goals. But I don't know for some reason during the new year, I've always felt like that is a time for me to rest and release and kind of reflect and
and not jump right into like all these action, masculine energy. So just in the case that it's not just me, and you're someone who's also feeling called to rest and reflect and journal and process and express during this time of the year, and you're not like right away waking up on January 1st and you're like, I'm going to the gym at 5am. Like if you're not like that, I just want to tell you that it's completely fine. It's valid. It's normal. It's natural. And I
I think in order to set those intentions and actions and bring in new energy into the year, you also have to be able to process. So I personally am taking like these first few days, like right now as I'm recording this, it's January 1st, but it won't be out till the Friday of this week. But this whole week from Sunday to Friday, I'm going to be taking really like a lot of time to reflect and process and
and to sit with like really all the things that I've gone through and experienced this past year in 2022 and how I can take all these lessons and set new intentions that will really take me far towards who I want to be, who I want to show up as every single day in 2023.
So I've been feeling called to share in this episode my top intentions for 2023 because I think there's a lot of like general things and content about like 2023 goals like go to the gym early, wake up early, drink your tea, drink your lemon water, go on a walk, 10,000 steps a day, da da da, you know?
And as much as I think those are great and you should set those habits and goals for yourself, I also think that like telling people that they have to do this and this and this and like have a certain set of goals that they have to accomplish in order to be successful just sets people up for failure and also just induces this comparison for no reason.
And I remember I used to watch like this content in those videos about like my 2023 goals and someone have a list of like 20 different goals that they would do every day. They would drink a gallon of water. They would walk 10,000 steps. They would wake up at 5 a.m. and all these things that are so great and I think are really amazing things that can raise your vibration.
but they're also not attainable right away. And I think with habits and specifically like those types of goals, if they are not driven by a true feeling or motivation, then
You're not gonna stick it out and let me explain like you can decide that you're gonna wake up at 5:00 a.m. Early every day why a lot of people choose to do that not because they actually feel called to do it or they think it's gonna make them and change something in their life is because somebody else told them that it's gonna make them successful and honestly
I think I don't wake up at 5 a.m. and I think that I have had very successful moments in my life and I don't think that there's a one shoe size fits all. So if you're sitting down with yourself like this month and you're setting your intentions and your goals, I want to invite you to envision and visualize how your higher self would feel
this year and then what are the goals and actions and things that they would take because I think that will help you set true habits and goals that will serve you and not everything that somebody else is doing is going to serve you and so I want to share with you guys the intentions that I have set for myself and these are intentions that are like non-physical they're not like certain habits that I'm going to be doing like obviously I have those intentions as well but I want to share with you guys like
intentional wisdom that I've set for myself for 2023 that I think is going to maybe inspire you guys. Maybe you guys want to take it up for yourself too. Like we can set these intentions together, but these are things that are driven by feeling, by how I want my higher self to show up and the things that would really like drive me to be the person that I want to become. Okay. Number one, right off the bat, my intention is to follow the ease of life.
And let me tell you why I've set this intention for myself and why I think that this is just such a great intention to set out for the new year.
So I lived my life in a state of resistance for a very long time because I had this limiting belief that it had to be my, I had to have like very hard moments in order for my happiness and joy to come out. Like I had this limiting belief that basically said, oh, I have to work really, really hard in order to be successful or I have to be really, really heartbroken in order to attract a partner or I had to really, really be down at my lowest moments in order to catalyze and feel joy.
And what I've realized through my own experiences in the past year is that life is available to us in the way that we want it to be. And let me explain what that means. If we believe that life is hard and challenging and full of obstacles and all these tests from the universe, that is literally the life that we are going to be living because it's going to be fulfilling that prophecy, that confirmation bias of our subconscious mind.
But if you choose to allow yourself to have an easy life and lead an easy life and you look for the ease in life. And when I say look for the ease is you look for the path of least resistance. So if you're seeing like something or someone or an experience in your life, there's a lot of resistance around it or you feel like you have to control it and hold on to it and really, really pressure yourself into it in order to attain it. That's not following the ease.
Following the ease is all about seeing where life takes you and going with the flow and seeing, okay, going on a walk, seeing nature and thinking, wow, it's so beautiful. And then you run into someone that you know, and you know, you just go with the flow and you embrace it. And honestly, what I'm about to tell you is something that I needed to hear for a long time, but life can be easy. Like you are allowed to have an easy human experience. When I say easy, I'm not saying like everything is perfect.
And I'm not saying you're not going to have challenges or obstacles or opportunities for growth. Those are always going to be there because that's part of human life and the human experience. But I'm also saying that you can choose to live a path of least resistance in your life. Every single day when you wake up, you can tell yourself, okay,
I, life is allowed to be easy for me today. My day is allowed to be least of resistance today. Things are allowed to flow for me today. Things are allowed to feel easy for me today. And you affirm that to yourself. And I can tell you that when you start telling yourself that,
things just become so clear. Like you will attain this great sense of clarity where it's like the universe will start shining light on all the things that are in your highest good and all the things that bring you resistance and are not in alignment, they'll get louder and louder and louder until you learn to walk away from them. Number two, establish more boundaries and honor them.
And, wow, I swear by this. Okay, boundaries. I talk about boundaries all the time because it's honestly something that has changed my life because I was a people pleaser for such a long time. You guys know that. But being able to ask yourself what feels good.
Not what other people tell you, but asking yourself, sitting down with yourself and trying to understand, okay, what feels good for me? What works for me? And what are my needs? And putting your needs back up on the pedestal and asking yourself, okay, is this is...
if this is what I need, how do I set that boundary for myself and honor it for myself? And the thing about boundaries, the reason I preach it so much is because it changes your whole dynamic with yourself and other people. And nobody is a mind reader. And if you can set boundaries and set your intentions for what makes you feel good, what you will accommodate, what you won't accommodate, what you will entertain, what you won't entertain,
what is the line that you can't cross within your life, everything will change for you. So think that the reason so many people are miserable, especially in relationships, is because of the lack of boundaries and the disalignment of relationship dynamic.
Because somebody who like doesn't respect your boundaries and does that, they just have a very different vision of your relationship dynamic. And this doesn't even have to be a romantic partner. This could be a friend or a family member. But people have different relationships dynamic and people have different boundaries and needs.
and not everyone is going to be able to accommodate what you need without you being verbal about it and setting that boundary. You can't expect someone in your life to know that something like doing this or saying this doesn't make you feel good. It's just not fair to the other person and to be honest, it's setting yourself both up for failure. But if you're able to step into your power and set the boundaries and be honest and clear with yourself and do the inner work, that is a type of self-love that is...
so powerful and will change your entire life and your entire relationships because it gives the people in your life a chance to respect you and honor you and honor your needs and it gives you a chance to honor your needs and put yourself first because honestly in 2023 you guys we're putting ourselves back on the pedestal number three is bringing more acts of self-care into my life this is like the only action one of the list but I do want to mention that
setting the intention for like having acts of self-care, that's not like there doesn't have to be one thing that you need to do. Like maybe for you going and doing self-care is watching the sunset and journaling. And maybe for somebody else, it's going to the gym and working out. But doing all those physical actions that are supposed to make you feel good from a place and energy of self-care instead of like self, I don't even know how to explain it, but
Everything that you do doesn't matter really like it's neutral until you set the intention and the choice.
So if you're going to the gym, for example, but you're going to the gym because you hate your body and you hate yourself and you're going to the gym because you want to change your entire self because you don't accept yourself, that is not the energy that I'm setting that intention. Do you understand? Like I am telling you guys, go to the gym and do the self-care because it makes you feel good because it makes you feel like your higher self. And if doing that doesn't make you feel good, don't do it.
do it. Don't set those goals and intentions because it will just drain you out and burn you out. Set the goals and intentions that genuinely bring out the energy of self-care and self-love within you. And that's why I said like acts of self-care don't have to be like physical acts. They can be, you know, writing yourself a note and a love letter and expressing gratitude and going on a walk and meditating or playing with your tarot deck, like whatever it is.
It doesn't have to be one thing that works for somebody else, has to work for you. But find that thing. Find the niche.
that works for you, that empowers you and bring those moments of self-care back into your life. Number four, and I've saved the best for last, is this is one that I'm really going to be working on myself this year, but it's to let go of the attachment. The attachment to a certain outcome, the attachment to a certain person, the attachment to how things are meant to turn out.
I have set the conscious intention for 2023 to just be in a surrender state, to just be completely immersed in the unknown and to let go and let the universe take the steering wheel.
Because for many years in my life, I wanted to control everything. I was very in my masculine energy. I wanted to control how people perceive me or how things turned out for me or who I was with and what I was doing. I was trying to control all of it. And I'm going to be honest, that is a miserable energy to be in because no matter how much you try to control everything in your life,
you're not going to be able to. The universe has a plan. Things don't always turn out the way that you expect them to. And the more that you try to control something and resist something, the more resistance and disruption
depletion that you're going to get back from the universe. But if you're able to surrender and let go, let go of the resistance and the trying to control and let go of the attachment because I think this is like a famous quote by Buddha but he says attachment is the source of all human suffering. If you're able to let go just a little bit of the attachment to a person or a thing and
That is when you get that thing. That's also something that I've realized in life. It's the oddest thing the way it works. But when you genuinely stop caring and let go and just trust, the things that are actually meant for you come in. But the more that you try to control and resist, you're pushing those things away. And I do want to say that
there's like this big limiting belief for a lot of people that if you finally let go of the attachment, we think that we're not going to get that thing or we're not going to get that person. But it's actually quite the opposite. It's crazy. The less that you care and the less that you're attached to something, the more that you're able to be open to it. Because when you form an attachment to something, you're not operating from a place of neutrality. You're operating from a very strong emotional charge and emotional standpoint and
And so you're kind of like energetically pushing the things that you want away because you're so attached to the outcome and you're not letting the universe surprise you. You're not letting the universe gift you with all the things that are actually meant for you.
When you let go of the attachment and the outcome, you allow the universe to bring you directly exactly what your higher self wants and exactly what is meant for you. And that is so fucking powerful. Sorry for cursing on this podcast, but I really believe in it. Like letting go of the attachment brings you everything. Not needing anything brings you everything.
And obviously this is way easier said than done. And I don't think that humans can just let go of attachment altogether. There's attachment hunger, anxious attachment styles. Like I'll have to go into that in a whole other episode. You can't let go of the attachment fully for someone or something. But the more that you find yourself getting attached to a certain outcome and you're just like,
obsessing over how something needs to turn out like you're obsessing over that person you're obsessing over that goal and you're just so attached to the timeline and you're thinking it has to come now the more that you're able to see that and view it from an observer perspective and then remind yourself okay it's okay that I formed this attachment to it but it's also safe for me to let it go now and it's safe for me to lean into trust and to surrender and to allow the universe to take this up and
You don't have to carry it all by yourself. You know, the universe wants to help you and wants to support you. I promise you that if you go into the new year with this energy, that you are just so completely committed and whole and abundant within yourself and you're not attached to how things need to turn out and you're just focused on the feeling and the emotion and like you're focused on following the joy and the bliss out of life, you will
Just set yourself up for such an amazing year, regardless of the obstacles and the challenges, because you will have yourself and you will form this really strong connection with yourself and source energy like no other.
