Sadik Musa, 23 years old from Sudan was sentenced to a suspended sentence after admitting that he fled Malta without the original documents and when he did not have an original passport to do so as he was an illegal immigrant.

Musa was sent back to Malta by the Norwegian authorities after he was caught in this country living illegally because he did not have permission to stay there. Inspector Mario Haber exhibited the documents related to the identity of the Sudanese and the documents found in his possessions.

Considering the fact that the Sudanese admitted at an early stage of the proceedings, Magistrate Ian Farrugia sentenced him to six months in prison suspended for 18 months. Legal aid lawyer Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for Musa.
