Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, June 4th, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Elon speaks out. Terrorist family deported. Gates for Africa. And no more Harvey Milk. It's all coming up and Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, now that the one big beautiful bill is in the Senate...
Elon wrote on Twitter or X, I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork filled congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it. You know, you did wrong. You know it.
Steve Doocy asked Caroline Leavitt, how mad do you think the president is going to be when he finds out that Elon Musk said, and then he read the tweet. And Caroline responded, look, the president already knows where Elon Musk stood on the bill. It doesn't change the president's opinion. This is one big, beautiful bill, and he's sticking to it. Mike Johnson said in the hallways of the Congress, with all due respect, my friend Elon is terribly wrong about the one big, beautiful bill. I asked Marsha Blackburn if the Senate will make this bill better. And she said, certainly.
The wife and all five children of the illegal alien accused of firebombing a crowd of Jews in this terrorist attack, they've been arrested and will be deported. The terrorist who tried to murder all these Jews said he expected to die during the attack. Well, he didn't, and his family will be shipped out of America without even a hearing before an immigration court on an expedited removal. Kristi Noem said, we are investigating to what extent the
The family knew about this heinous attack if they had knowledge of it or if they provided support to it. Worth a reminder that he came here on a visa, overstayed the visa, and then was granted a work permit by the Biden administration after he already overstayed his visa.
Bill Gates announced that he will give $200 billion over the next 20 years, a bulk of it to Africa. He said the majority of that funding will be spent on helping address challenges here in Africa. Has the aid we've already given Africa done much good? He said by unleashing human potential through health and education, every country in Africa should be on a path to prosperity. And that path is an exciting thing to be a part of.
Gates recently accused Elon Musk of killing the world's poorest children through his work at Doge. It's believed $1.2 trillion of aid over the last 30 years has made it through Africa. $1.2 trillion, and it's made corrupt leaders very rich.
During this pride month, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has ordered the Navy to strike the name of Harvey Milk from one of their ships. Harvey Milk is a hero in California, one of the first openly gay men elected to public office in the country. San Francisco Board of Supervisors, 1977, he was assassinated a year later. He's also accused of being a pedophile. The Pentagon said that the Secretary of Defense is committed to
to ensuring that the names of all installations and assets are reflective of our nation's history and the warrior ethos. I'm Mike Slater, Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day. On this Wednesday in real life, I don't watch a lot of television news because I learn very little by doing so. Yes, I run my own news agency, so I have access to information far beyond most folks. But the main reason TV media fails me is because it's incredibly lazy.
While in the Far East at the end of May, I watched CNN in the evening because that was my only source for American news. No Fox, no NBC. CNN has the overseas market locked up. Because of the 12-hour time difference, I was consuming CNN's morning program. It featured skilled broadcasters. They were good. But the presentation was mostly biased and foolish.
Here's what the network does. It selects a topic, say Trump's battle with Harvard. Then it brings in a guest who bashes the president without challenge or even interruption. Over and over again this happened. Liberal guests bloviating while the anchor naps. And I don't blame the news person. It's incredibly boring, predictable, a waste of time.
This lazy formula is not working, as CNN's viewership has dramatically declined. Yet the producers seem satisfied because every day it's the same thing. Why? I don't know. It's not difficult to mix it up with different points of view. Yes, CNN is a left-wing network. Yes, it's failing.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me, Bill at BillOReilly.com. Bill at BillOReilly.com. Name and town if you wish to opine. Mail Colleen, a concierge member now. Colleen has my crew watching her back. Telling you this is an insurance and it's so inexpensive. Concierge member, BillOReilly.com. Free book.
You get into any problems, you want to know anything, write to us within 24 hours. We'll get back to you. All right, Colleen says, propaganda coming out of China for years depicts a great country where all the people are happy.
that propaganda has adversely impacted our younger generation. Many believe that communism is a wonderful form of government and the U.S. should convert to it. I don't see it that way, Colleen. I don't think there are many communists in America. There are some socialists, but they're basically people who don't want to compete. They're lazy people. The propaganda out of China is ignored by young Americans. Young Americans have no idea what's going on over there, generally speaking.
Don is a concierge member. Thank you, Don. All well said, Bill, but I do not trust China. They have their agenda of world domination, and that includes putting America down. Well, it doesn't really matter, and I don't mean this to be flippant or rude. Whether you trust them or not, Don, I don't trust them. Who would trust them? But there's no plan B. You either make deals with them or the world descends into violent chaos. That's it.
Thomas Merckx, Maryville, Tennessee. As far as Taiwan and relations for peaceful unification, China does have a proven track record and it's not good. All you need to do is look at the promises they made to Great Britain over Hong Kong. And we see how the Chinese communist word means nothing. Again, same answer. There's no plan B. You get a deal and you hope the deal works out well for China and they don't go back on it. That's it.
In a moment, something you might not know. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. As you may know, I was in Beijing, China last week. And 36 years ago today, Chinese students marched through the streets of that city, demanding basic human rights. The protests ended with a brutal crackdown against the Chinese protesters. Here is the story of Tiananmen Square.
Beginning in April 1989, one million people gathered in the center of Beijing, the Chinese capital. Frustrated by decades of financial stagnation, they called for the resignation of party leadership, open markets, and free elections. For weeks, the protesters held daily marches in Tiananmen Square, a public space established by dictator Mao Zedong.
Despite a media blackout, Western reporters were able to transmit live footage of the protests using satellites. The crisis escalated in the early hours of June 4th when communist troops entered the square. Soldiers fired on the civilians. No warning shots. They gunned them down. Tanks actually plowed into protesters. Hours later, the square was deserted. To this day, China has never released
the tally of those killed or injured. Historians place the death count at about 10,000. And here's something else you might not know. The Chinese government is now more oppressive than ever. It's a police state, cameras everywhere. There has never been a surveillance system like this on the planet. The communists have firm control over 1.5 billion citizens. That's about five times more than the USA.
There is little public dissent because the law is clear. No violations of the, quote, normal social order. Of course, that could be anything. So the streets of Beijing are clean. Littering would be a violation. Public drug use, impossible. Homeless, not tolerated. There is no bail reform and never will be.
Much like 1989, China remains a totalitarian state where dissent means certain punishment. Back after this. Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly Update. I am Bill O'Reilly. For more news and honest analysis, please go to BillOReilly.com. No spin, just facts, and always looking out for you.
