🔴On May 23, 2025, President Donald Trump announced plans to impose steep tariffs—50% on all European Union goods and 25% on iPhones manufactured abroad—as part of escalating trade tensions. This unexpected threat unsettled global markets, increasing uncertainty and risk aversion among investors. As a result, Bitcoin’s price dropped to around $107,000, reflecting concerns over the potential economic impact of heightened trade conflicts and market instability.

🔴BlackRock's IBIT Becomes Top-Traded ETF
- On May 23, 2025, BlackRock’s IBIT Bitcoin ETF became the most traded ETF in the U.S., pulling in $877 million in a single day—its highest ever daily inflow. It now boasts $45 billion in total assets and saw $5.2 billion in trading volume, the second-highest in its history. Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas called the surge a “classic feeding frenzy,” as IBIT continues to dominate institutional Bitcoin exposure.
💯On May 22, 2025, Sui’s largest DEX, Cetus Protocol, suffered a $223M oracle manipulation attack. Exploiters deployed spoof tokens to distort price data and drain liquidity pools. Meme tokens like Lofi, Sudeng, and Squirtle crashed up to 97%, and 46 Sui tokens posted double-digit losses. The attacker still holds $164M on Sui and bridged $61.5M USDC to Ethereum.
❗Cetus paused contracts, identified and fixed the bug, and proposed an on-chain vote to return frozen assets, without a chain rollback. 🚨The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday https://lnkd.in/dukerHsc Banks Explore Venturing Into Crypto World Together With Joint Stablecoin. The discussions involve payments companies co-owned by JPMorgan Chase, other large banks. Knowing their recent history, it could be hashtag#fakenews? One bank consortium possibility that has been discussed would be a model that lets other banks use the stablecoin, in addition to the co-owners of The Clearing House and Early Warning® Services, the Journal said, citing unnamed sources.
